Can anyone figure this out? Sunday I purchased ten Pittsburgh Post Gazettes. They all had the Smart Source section in them, great. Bought them at the same store and as I'm cutting out the coupons I realize some inserts are missing some of the coupons I want. They are slightly different.
I think the Red Plum is doing this also. I can understand different areas getting different coupons but when you get all the papers from the same place it doesn't make sense.
Between the Red Plum not showing up in our papers and them switching all the coupons around it's getting hard to keep things straight. I'm really hoping the mail service does not get cut down to five days. I have a hard time getting coupons in the mail from the clipping services in time for some of the sales.

It happens. I can get an early edition on Saturday (all same paper-Washington Post) and then I get one delivered...different Qs. and then I have gone to the store on Sunday and gotten more Q's in the store copy than my home delivery copy.
I don't know if there is any rhyme or reason. I think maybe the advertisers pay for so many pages and once they fill that many inserts, then they don't put more in?

Thanks Saving-n-va. This will only make sense to you because I had to go back and edit my post. I went back to my coupons and realized I the ice cream coupon was in the Unilever section and not the Smart Source.
Thank goodness we have wonderful people on this board keeping things straight. Having a headache and everything is a blur today.

Somewhere where they put the red plums together there is a guy showing the new employee how to do it and says, "Don't worry if you miss a page here and there - it's not like anyone is going to notice"

FSIs = (Free Standing Insert)s

They are printed waaaay ahead of time.

There is a goooood chance that all do not come from the same source, so there can be differences.
In the printing of FSIs, there is the flexibility so that the print runs can be tailored printed / made (e.g.: by zipcode or neighborhood).

Thanks everyone. I guess if there is a specific coupon I want I'll have to look through all of the papers to make sure it is in there.

Out of curiosity....are you getting Redplum in your WashPost's still? We have not been gettting them in my area of MD for the past month! However, another site I visit still has them listed in the paper for DC?? This really screws me up when a good sale is based on Redplum Q's KWIM? Another thing is we are not getting all the regular sale ad's either....I know cause I saw one from another area recently that was filled with them, but mine had like 3.
