Anyone know the policy on these? Is there a limit to the number of items you can buy w/a raincheck? If I have a copy of the ad for that week, for the item w/the raincheck, can I get the same deal as in the ad (meaning no limit on quantity, etc?) Thanks for any info!!

I really don't know the raincheck policy, but I do use a lot of rainchecks.
I never have had a problem with the number of items that I was buying
with the rain checks.
If there is a limit listed in the ad they usually put the limit amount on the raincheck.
I had a raincheck for the green giant steamers in which they put a limit of 30 on the raincheck.
The raincheck was from a week when they had a mix and match mega sale and you had to buy 10 items in order to get the $5 reward and there was a limit of 3 rewards per transaction.
I used the raincheck in Feb. along with (30) $1 coupons so all were free for me. As luck would have it I had 2 of those rainchecks and (20) more coupons so 20 more free steamers. which I have shared with friends and family.
Oh, and by the way I did NOT use both of those rainchecks in the same shopping trip or even the same day. And I did not clear the shelf.
However the person who was putting product out said to me "first come first served, so take as much you want to buy".
The cashier did ask a supervisor to make sure that she could sell me that
many items on one raincheck, it was ok because they had put a limit on the raincheck and I was not buying more than I was supposed too. The cashier did mention to me that the day before she got in trouble for selling too many items on a raincheck.
I have noticed that now days they have to write on the back of the rainchecks how many items were purchased.
Also my store accepts their expired rainchecks.
When I use my rainchecks I usually use them with coupons and they will only double 3 of the same/like coupon on one transaction, so unless I am using $1 coupons I usually only get 3 items per raincheck.
Several of my rainchecks from the past have limits of 10 on them.
I have a raincheck for half gallon of icecream @.99 ea. limit 10.
Can you imagine coming home with 10 cartons of icecream and trying to fit them into your freezer full of steamers. LOL!!!! :giggle2:

the raincheck should be wrote as to how the ad is. if there is no limits in the ad......then no limits on the r/c. if there is a limit of 4 roasts for example....then that is how it should be wrote. keeping the ad with the raincheck is a great way sometimes to help out us checkers.
and remember.........no r/c's are allowed on items not in the ad.

what if they didn't put a limit, but the ad originally had a limit? I have one raincheck like that.

if the cashier has a good memory........and esp if it is something like the milk we had or roasts.......they will know there is/was a limit. and since we have to keep our r/c's in our drawer like cash.......and it will show in the system of the over rides for the r/c's.....they prolly will still keep u to the limit as to not be written up.

So if it says limit 4 per transaction, then I can only have 4 per raincheck, right?
And one more thing, I have coupons for the 2 different Quaker items that were just on sale. The clerk said since they're grouped under the same item on the ad, even tho they're different products, that they can only give me 1 raincheck for both items! Since there's a limit of 4 per transaction, that means I'll only be able to get 4 total for all of these items then? That doesn't quite seem fair, since they're entirely different product... but that's how I'm interpreting it. Am I wrong?

since they were in the same group.....then the checker is right. sorry

I got a raincheck for TP and they dont put a quantity like at Safeway, so I went up with 2 packs and asked if it was ok. She said it was fine so I assume they would have written a quantity if there was a limit.

depends on how strict your frys is. at mine, when coke or pepsi is on sale they only allow rainchecks when every flavor is wiped out. rainchecks state they are good for two weeks. and he only write rainchecks for sales listed in their circular.
