I tried to use one of these coupons on a small box of Gelatin today at the commissary and was told it was not allowed. First, the box was only $1.05. Second, it was made by kraft, a different company than the Nutra Nails Knox product is made by. Third, the picture on the coupon is for only for the Nutra Nail/Joint products. I tried to explain that the coupon could be used on any Knox product, but that's when I was told it was two different companies I was confussing.
Anyone have trouble with this as well? Anyone have answers to this? Are we using the coupon properly?

Thanks.

I'm just very frustrated because today seemed to be the worst shopping experience ever and that's before they even got to the Knox coupon/product. I felt like I was treated like a criminal. I was accused of coping the coupons, because they were in black and white and because I had more than one. The cashier said when you print out coupons online your only supposed to get one. I explained to her that most of the time it's two per computer, but my husband does have 8 of them up and running, so why not print from them. She told me what I'm doing is wrong. Felt like I a criminal and an idiot they way I was talked to.

Frustrated.

Apparently, the Gelatin in the baking isle is made by Kraft Foods and the Nutra Joint/nail product is made by Nabisco.

My cashier took it no problem. It's the SAME exact picture for the "kraft brand knox" and the "nabisco brand knox" ... If they were two different companies wouldn't the same picture for their Knox stuff be an issue?

First, the box was only $1.05.
Doesn't matter how much it is, could be on clearance for 1 penny and they should still give you the full value of the coupon because that's their store policy.
I had to email my store director to clarify this for me, here's how that went...

I said:
blahblahblah complained about a cashier that wouldn't accept a printed coupon that gave overage...
"Here
http://www.commissaries.com/inside_deca/publications/directives/DeCAD40_6_JN2007.pdf in paragraph 7(pg. 40) it states that "valid coupons will be entered at the value stated on the coupon." That should allow overage I believe. Could you clarify it for me/the cashiers so there aren't any problems next time?"

And her reply was:

"You are correct; our policy states that money can be given back on valid
coupons as long as the merchandise has been purchased. The front end
manager will go over again the policies with all the cashiers. I
apologize for this and in the future please ask for the duty manager so
you are given all that you are entitled to.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Karen"

Where did you get this info?

This is from the KRAFT site about Knox history: Knox History (http://brands.kraftfoods.com/knox/knox_history.html)
If you scroll down, they have a picture of a nutrajoint item.
"In addition, Knox has taken the words "healthful lifestyle" to the next level, creating Knox NutraJoint (http://www.nutrajoint.com/)."

I've also come across the Nabisco site and it links me to Kraft site for more "promotions"... sister/brother companies?

And as for you printing 2 coupons per computer, that's perfectly FINE. That cashier is just a misinformed jerk.

It's in the DB and in the printable coupons forum

Well I was going through my coupons and I found some for 4/1 any Knox item. Not sure what INSERT it's from, I'll bet I can probably find out in the DB but I really don't care where it's from =)

It shows a picture of the nutrajoint stuff... and the fine print says:
"This coupon is good only on the purchase of products indicated"

Does that mean the products indicated in the picture? But it says "any Knox item"

=(

That's just it, the coupon doesn't state "On Any Knox" it states "On Knox", so does that mean the same thing?

I think the big issue today was when she scanned the box for $1.05 and she asked "So what do you want me to do? Just adjust the coupon down to $1.05." I told her that it's DECAs policy to accept coupons at face value and that's when all the trouble started. A manager was called over and he said the coupon was for a different product or a bigger box of the gelatin. I explained it was for any Knox and that the small box was the only size available. I was told that even if I contacted Knox via phone/email and was given the "ok" to use the coupon, they still wouldn't even take it.

How messed up is that?

IMO, any means any.

i've seen coupons with the wording "good on items pictured". i need to find one to have on hand as a sample. if anyone know of one to exist, plmk!

It shows a picture of the nutrajoint stuff... and the fine print says:
"This coupon is good only on the purchase of products indicated"

Does that mean the products indicated in the picture? But it says "any Knox item"

I contacted Knox via email and this is there response:

Thank you for contacting Knox through our website. We appreciate your interest in our products.

Although we share the Knox name with Kraft/Nabisco, we do not make the Knox original unflavored cooking gelatine. Kraft/Nabisco is the maker of that product. I suggest trying their web site at www.kraftfoods.com (http://www.kraftfoods.com/), or their toll-free number, 1-800-323-0768.

If you would like more information about our products please visit http://www.knox.com (http://www.knox.com/). Our products include:

Knox NutraJoint Gelatine
Knox NutraJoint Plus Glucosamine
Knox NutraJoint Plus Glucosamine, Chondroitin & MSM
Knox for Nails

Thank you again for contacting Knox. If you have any further questions, our Consumer Affairs Representatives can be reached toll-free at 1-888-893-5669, Monday through Friday, 9am-7pm EST. We look forward to serving you in the future.

Kindest regards,

She didn't say if I could use the coupon on the gelatine, but she didn't say I could not.
:shrug7:

Please, if someone can use them without a problem pm me your mailing address and I'll mail you all mine (8). I do not want/need the stress of trying to use a coupon! Thanks.:smile77:

I don't know what the printable says because my printer jammed and wasted my two prints so I never saw it.

But there are $4 insert coupons and by the way they read and look it is meant on the nutra joint. The insert coupons say "$4 off any Knox" and then show a picture of nutra joint. They don't say ANY gelatin, don't say any PRODUCT, they say "any" before the picture so my interpretation is off the nutra joint products. I don't know of any grocery store that sells the basic gelatin at $4 or higher so I would assume they meant the nutra joint. I can't speak for the company if it's cool or not but I'm not going to try personally.

The basic price at the commisary doesn't matter because they allow overage and are sometimes cheaper than aregular store.

My coupon says off any knox and it shows all the products on it. The Nail one is only 4.62 at my commissary. I used one today on the gelatin and they didn't have a problem with it.

:smile77:I don't have the coupon on me, but it shows about 6 or so different Items....I will get one and get back to you, they are out in the car and I can't get out there at the moment. But, I will do it before the end of the night. (it doesn't show the gelatin it, but the person that checked me out works as a manager sometimes an she didn't have a problem with it)

There are some up on the auction site if you want to see the picture but the ones I have seen show all the nutra joint/nutranail products. Don't want to speak for someone else though.

Here is a photo of the coupon I pulled from Ebay. Given the earlier email posted from the company that makes Knox Nutrajoint, I do not believe these Qs can be used on the gelatin. That's at least how I interpreted the email.

Thoughts/Opinions? Of course I'd LOVE the overage if we can use these on gelatin, but don't want use them fraudulently.

SUPERMOD EDIT: Please do not post images of coupons without 1st voiding out the Bar Code. Thanks!

The email confuses me, the Knox history clearly shows the gelatin AND nutrajoint being one company. IDK. And I forgot to try and use it today, s'ok though because my cashier(actually I was doing self checkout with a friend) lady was being a grumpy oompa loompa.

I don't know either, I will be using the rest of my coupons on the nail product, because the kids loved it and it isn't bad for you....but, with that being said the main ingredient is gelatin, lol? So, I don't know?:smile77:

I've used the IP one twice on the gelatin, I'm too chicken to try the insert Q though.

I went yesterday, I bought 12 boxes of the $1.05 gelatin (for some reason I was only charged for 11, I just noticed now) and I used 12 of the Knox coupons. I made sure I went to the same cashier I went to last week b/c I had "trained" her on their overage policy last time I was in (although I did not use the Knox coupons last week) She did give me a little flack after she over rode several of the coupons but after she read the coupon she said "oh, OK, it does say ANY Knox product" As it goes my order was $127.61 b4 q's and 41 cents after q's, the cashier was amazed!
