I haven't added up crt's but my best deal was getting 98 2-lb bags of White Lily flour free after the q's were tripled. I stumbled upon the q's in a Bruno's. I was about halfway through my last bag of stockpiled flour, too, so it was perfect timing.

I got 12 to 15 boxes of butter for .35 each and at least 30 bags of shredded cheese for .35 each. I didn't count the cheese because we were so busy trying to make room in one of the two freezers for everything. I probably got closer to 50 of them but they are all now frozen now how ever many there are.

I had a lot of the .55/2 Martha White muffin q's so I stockpiled those. I also got 12 of the Reynold's cupcake liners (to use with the muffin mixes). I got 6 big bags of Dorito's for .34 each and I will go back Tuesday and get 6 more for the inlaws. The exp date is June something but they don't stand a chance of lasting anywhere near that long in this house.

I think I ended up with 20 of the small Bisquick Shake and Pour pancake things. I've never used them but I had .50/1 q's so they were .09 each and I couldn't pass that up.

I found tags on some Kikkoman teriyaki sauce that made it either free or .09...can't remember for sure on that one. I also found a good deal on Kikkoman soy sauce with some tags at one store.

I had some insert q's that I used and got things like Mentos, crescent rolls and quite a few Ziplock and Hefty freezer bags at real good prices. My best deals were with coupons that I found in the stores and didn't have with me until I found them today. I was surprised by that.

Also, I noticed today that customer service at each of the 5 stores that I went to was exceptional. I was afraid that employees would be upset, angry or whatever but every single encounter I had today was the most pleasant I've had in FW or Bruno's in a long time.

If you don't mind me asking, which cheese did you get for .35 a bag? I was just looking through my binder for a good deal.

Wow on the flour. I need flour! Will have to hunt the coupons.
Wow on the doritos.
Wow on everything.
I was just happy to find 3 blinkies for martha white muffin mix hidden behind the warm delights. I got pound cake muffin mix for the summer parties. Never saw it before.

China, are more than 10 like coupons triple ....ing? Which butter is it for .35?

Not trying to hijack, but just a quick question-is overage counting on these purchases? Just trying to plan for tomorrow morning when I'm out. TIA!:smile77:

I did not get overage. The cash register was set up to only give it to you free. For example on the French's Mustard it rang up as 1.39. Then it said - 50 scanned coupon and then - .89 extra coupon savings.

yep rdot is correct,
my crt from 8 pm has no overage. My crt from lunch does. HMMMM, someone fixed something:giggle2:

Beep alert on the warm delights. My q's were the .50/1 . All my coupons beeped both trips.

Well, my store's registers were NOT set up to avoid overage, so a manager stood there and checked every single coupon to make sure I didn't get overage. I broke my stuff up into 3 separate transactions so I could use all 26 of my Nesquick and Bounty coupons.

Here's my results-

6 Warm Delights
26 Bounty Basic (these WERE on sale after all!!)
4 Pillsbury Pizza Crusts (not a steal but pretty good with the $.40/1 triple)
8 Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls
13 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls--managers went crazy about the overage but we resolved it by them charging me $1.05 for each package instead of $1
26 Nesquick Milks (I've been WAITING on this deal and the coupons expired 3/31 so it wasn't a moment too soon!)
2 gallons of Southern Home milk for the baby
4 1-pound packages of Southern Home spaghetti
4 bags Armour meatballs (2 regular, 2 Italian)
4 bags Cheerios snack mix
2 bags Chex mix
5 Franks Red Hot sauce
4 small Coffeemate Creamer powder
1 Duncan Hines Cake Mix (for an Easter Bunny Cake)
1 Swiffer cloths refill (would have gotten more but forgot my other coupons)
7+ pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast (this was $13 of my total)

I paid $66.42, saved $162.69.

I asked the cashier if lots of couponers had been in today, and she said no. She said maybe one or two people had come in with a couple of coupons but that was it. There were still PLENTY of all the good sales left at my store.

I hope they do this again--my coupon holder is getting too full and needs a good clearing out!

I got the southern home pasta and elbows for my armour coupons. We think a like.

I loved being able to use up my .55/1 coupons. I rarely use those.

Not much stood out to me at first. I started putting some match ups together last night and found a few things that would be cheap enough to buy/donate.

Today I found rice, pasta, crescents, cinn rolls, franks red hot, dial kitchen soap, golden flake 10 oz tortilla chips, eggos w the .55 tearpad from publix.

I think I am going back tomorrow for sargento cheese, lol butter and pepperidge farms garlic bread and small granulated splenda (close out 1.49 todays insert had $3/2 ).

I went straight to FW when I saw they were triples but I just didn't see anything that was worth it.....

I have one set of 6 bountys to go. Hope htown has some left. My store didn't want to accept the rc from htown. No bar code.

Today, I got 10 granulated splendas.
It was obvious someone came in with coupons since last night.
All the obvious freebies/cheapies like gum, martha white, vanity fair plates, rice, dole, dinty moore's were all gone.
I bought ds the big bowls that were like .85., cheese, and h meat, and the pepperidge farm garlic bread, then the normal cheapies like rice, mentos, golden flake,
saved 172.xx spent 54.xx
eek!

I think I am through except for the paper towels.

Just FYI, I went back to the McCalla store today and noticed that the prego, yeast and pillsbury cakes I got yesterday were on sale today. The manager price adjusted those items for me and refunded me the difference on the armour meatballs (I had gotten six bags!). They were very friendly and helpful. I shopped a little more and my total over two days including price adjustments is around $180 of groceries for $36-Woohoo!!!

Hello! Moving to Lakeview, AL this Friday and looking to get into this FoodWorld thing (exit 1, McCalla)... Looks like I've already got a coupon buddy or two I saw mention McCalla out there! Awesome!

Is this a fairly regular event? I won't be able to make my first shopping trip there until Sunday... Do they run triples once a month or something? That would be totally awesome! Thanks very much for any tips/pointers/advice anyone can offer- I'm typically a Target shopper in Tuscaloosa. Thanks!!!

Hi, this triple thing is new to us. Food-World/Brunos has just started having triples about a month ago. We don't know ahead of time. So far the have had them last saturday and the 3 out of the last 4 Sundays. They skipped Easter.

Don't know how long the triples will last since the stores are in the process of being sold or bankrupted/closed down. So enjoy them while you can!

thomascaldwell1
04-21-2009, 11:02:54 PM
And the tripling (perhaps I skipped this on page 1... Sorry!)- what are the rules- number of like coupons, number of coupons per transaction, max. value ($) they will double, etc.? Thank You!

mccook
04-21-2009, 11:06:17 PM
I have not been limited at all. Now that said the ad states see store for details. The stores I shop do not know the details. I shopped this past sat. and the cashier said when he started scanning the qs...is this that "coupon thang"?? I said yea, the ad says triple qs up to .55. So depending on your store you may be told otherwise.

thickbluebug
04-22-2009, 12:46:32 AM
The rules on doubling coupons at food - world has been to only double 10 like coupons. Some stores will manually override it at the register. Some stores will ask you to go to cs for a refund.
I stick to the 10 rule, just less hassle for me.
Also the bonus card will scan 3 times before it says limit.
So, I do 3 orders back to back for each card.

Last year we had some pilsbury brownie coupons and a tmf offer. So lots of us were buying them like crazy. The register would not scan our bonus cards or scan the actual coupons after 10 q's were scanned, so we started doing separate orders and the limit popped up.
It messed the registers up too. Locked them down at htown. I have not tried to do more than 10 coupons since. I have tried to do more than 3 orders and it just beeps and says something like not allowed or something similar.

I have assumed the rules are the same for triples. Anyone I have asked in the store didn't even know about the triples to begin with. LOL

Bruno's doesn't require a card so no limits unless the manager gives one.

thickbluebug
04-22-2009, 12:50:17 AM
mccook, does the new ad say anything about hormel chili, dinty moore, texas toast crutons, or flipz?
Those are what I am thinking about ordering more q's for.
Thanks!

mccook
04-22-2009, 01:38:46 AM
No on the ad stating anything about hormel chili, dinty moore, texas toast crutons, or flipz. I did not see these items on sale last week and all were close to free at regular price. The Flipz in my store were on a separate display with the 2/$3 pricing. I am planning a trip tomorrow to see what these items are without sales and to see if the Flipz have signage of a change in price. I am also going to be on the lookout for other items for sat. As soon as I am back, I will post my findings. Tomorrow will tell if a trip this sat. is worth it and whether or not I am ordering qs

mccook
04-22-2009, 01:41:32 AM
O yea...I am price checking the breyers icecream b/c of the recent .75 q (it is BOGO). We love this stuff even without the q tripling....I am loving the triples but would love a place to triple up to .99! (I read about Bloom and Harris Teeter triples up to .99 on this site) I guess we should be glad for what we have now.

thickbluebug
04-22-2009, 04:28:00 AM
mccook, I was jealous of harris teeter shoppers. All that stuff for free.
I am so thankful we are getting triples around here, Finally!

I bought the crutons last week for .35 (1.85), but the previous sales had them 2/3 or f.a.c. I was trying to get out of paying the extra .35. Can you say spoiled. Too funny. I love triples.

Hey, My store is out of flipz and didn't have them at all - until the display popped up. Not sure I will be able to find them this time.
I have ordered a bunch of coupons. Hope they get here in time.
Yeah for icecream!

I only found 1 cardboard display this last time. None on the shelf.
I made sure I was at the store at 7 and found a full display.
I missed the crutons when they were free too and got 10 the last triples for .35 each ac.

I went back that night at closing time and the display was empty.
Haven't seen them at any other store.

I would like more spam, chicken and tuna this time. It will be more oop, but it's something I would like to stock up on in the pantry.

thickbluebug
04-22-2009, 06:59:10 PM
Dora is where I found the display that is now empty. Someone taught a coupon class last month, I saw the signs.

For the triples I have shopped at the Food World in Dora, McCalla and Htown and Brunos in Hoover and hwy 280.

Normally I shop at greensprings, htown, mccalla jasper and gardendale about once a month.
I thought someone told me gdale was closed and they say they are open. So I may hit them sat and make a loop back to htown. We love those flipz.

Maybe I missed it- what is the value that they will triple up to? I mean, $1 coupon triples to $3 or only $0.75 and less triples?

Also, anyone know the price of Martha White muffins? If I can get these free/dirt cheap with the $0.55/2 blinkies, I will be all over it! We can go through blueberry muffins like they're going out of style! Thanks & Reps!

I did some price checking today and here are the results:

Texas toast crutons 1.89-.50=.39
Breyer's Bogo 5.29-.75=1.89/1
48 oz. Pine Sol 3.00-.50=1.50 (for the BIG bottle)
Cascade 2.99-.50=1.49
Bounty 10/$10-.25=.25/1
Angel Soft 4 pack 1.79-.50=.29!!! Definately stocking up
Lawry's small bottle (did not check the size) 1.89-.50=.39/1
French's mustard small/medium both 1.39-.50=free

My food world did not have any Flipz so I could not price check to see if they are still 2/$3. I found these last time at Bruno's on a special display.
I also saw the Pilsbury cakes are 4/$5, but don't have a q for these...

thickbluebug

Hi, they triple up to .55.
Beware,
The martha white coupons didn't all triple last time.
Some started w a 9 and some with a 5.
The registers can be made to triple if you catch it.
I have in my head what the value should be and watch the q to be scanned.
IE,,,,,the .55/1
says .55 and under it on the screen says 1.10.

So, if you try the muffins watch for the triple. .
45 should be .45 and under it .90

Also don't expect overage.
IE, .50/1 x 3 1.50 and frank's redhot is 1.25.

The register will adjust the q down.

If you have Publix, Texas Toast crutons are $1.09 or $1.19 depending on the area, and with $.50 q doubled that makes them .09 - .19 each. Much better than $.35.

We don't use it but the Grey Poupon mustard is on sale for 2.50 this week and when I was in FW last night they had a tearpad in front of them with .55/1 coupons. So that would make it .85/1... that sounds like a good price if you like it
