For the currect Walgreens Dove deal I purchased some $1.50/1 Dove GoFresh deo coupons off of eBay. I used a seller with high 4-digit FB and I have purchased from her in the past. It was a "buy it now" and I bought multiple lots. I chose her over others who were selling the $1.25/1 coupons because that extra Quarter adds up, especially if I end up using them @ doubles or something.
The envie arrived yesterday and I opened it tonight to find that it was only $1.25/1 coupons, not the $1.50/1 that were listed. Needless to say I was disappointed.
I do NOT think she intentionally was pulling one over on her buyers; nevertheless I did not get what I thought I was getting and feel dissatisfied. I contacted her to see if she had any suggestions to remedy this but I only sent the message moments ago so will prolly not hear back for a bit.
What would you expect for a resolution here? Do I suck it up? I bought 20 coupons so I am "missing" $5 in savings ($10 in savings if I double!), which as you all know, $5 around here can buy a lot ;)
Any input would be great, if this is the wrong forum I apologize!

Figure out what percent you are losing and and ask for that percentage off the purchase price. Or send them back and have her refund. What is her refund policy?

Is there a place where sellers list refund policies? I have never even looked! She doesn't appear to have one listed on her profile page.

I'll bet she's mortified! IF I were her, I would send some really nice high value coupons all of us coupon girls covet to make up for the mistake. That, to me would be better than the pennies in prorated value. I would hope that maybe my buyer could recover that "$5".

This could have been an honest mistake and a good seller will make it right. Wait for her response, if she doesn't respond within 48 hours report it. The problem with sending them back for a refund is you will be out shipping, so it may be to yor benefit to accept a partial refund on the items. Do not just suck it up! You would take an item back to the store if you bought it only to get it home and see it was not the right item, the same applies here. You bought $1.50 q's and that is not what you received.

Does the store pay your gas when you return your item?
I sell lots on eBay and I personally would probably just refund your money and send my apologies.
When I tell buyers to return the item if it was my fault I will pay return shipping. If it is there fault (changed mind, too small, mistake on thier part) they pay return shipping.
Sellers are ENCOURAGED (I am not sure if it is mandatory) to have a return policy listed on thier auctions. I have them listed on mine. Here is what I have
Item must be returned within:7 DaysRefund will be given as:Money BackReturn shipping will be paid by:BuyerReturn policy details:If you want to return or exchange your item email me. The item will need to be in the same condition it was mailed in, so if it is new with tags then the tags still need to be with it. Return shipping is the buyers responsibility and non refundable. All items must be received in a timely manner. Also if returning an item PLEASE include the item number in the package.
When the mistake is mine how can I expect them to pay shipping? However if I stated that I would cover it then then people would be encouraged to buy, try and return since it wouldn't cost them anything.
Give her time to reply. Good luck reporting it if it comes to that...I wouldn't waste my time.

My first thought was I hope this isn't me! I send out a lot of envelopes, but I am really hard on myself when I do make a mistake. I had one recently where I sent Del Monte Citrus Bowls and it was suppose to be Del Monte Superfruits. The person sent me a nice message saying thanks for your fast shipping, but you sent me the wrong coupon (paraphrasing). I sent a message right back saying I am so sorry! I will get the right ones out in today's mail if you can still use it and if you can't then I will refund your money. The buyer emailed me and said do you want me to send you back the wrong coupons and I said of course not, keep them or throw them away.
So, my answer is they should send you the right ones or refund your money and apologize profusely for the mistake. Hopefully they'll tell you to keep the other coupons so at least you have some coupons to use before the sale is over.
I hope you get a good response, but know that not all the sellers on ebay have the same policies or quality even if they had good feedback. I am just glad you contacted them to resolve the issue. I bought a set awhile back and when they came to me half of the coupons had the expiration date cut off. I was mad, but of course didn't complain which I should have and didn't leave feedback good or bad. This was a mistake of course.

Bummer. She should have one. Then again if she doesn't then it may be beneficial to you because when a seller doesn't have a policy in place they can't make you stick to it. Ask for what you think will make you whole again. Another good lot or the right coupons. Or a full refund minus shipping costs. Sellers rarely refund shipping costs. It's part of the downside of shopping ebay. It's nice when they do though!
Good Luck!

The return policy is usually listed at the bottom of the auction itself.

I recently made a similar goof on ebay. I gave profuse apologies, refunded the money and sent a coupon for a free Kraft item. I bend over backwards when I make a mistake. I bet that this seller will too. Give her the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks to all for the responses! Turns out I will not need to worry about pursuing it at all.
The seller responded today and offered a full refund, which I thought was more than fair. She has definitely ensured I will buy from her again!
And I want to reiterate what I said in the OP- I don't think she did it on purpose whatsoever, I know she is a big seller and that mistakes happen. Her response was awesome and if anyone wants to know who it was in case they are looking for a good seller, you can PM me (if that's allowed-- I don't want to break any rules by gleefully advertising an eBayer lol).
Thanks again for the help!

as an Ebay seller of over 1000 items I'll tell you what I know.
1. how much did you spend on this auction?
2. seller's return policies are at the bottom of each listing.
3. I have sent the wrong values coupons to traders myself, by accident, not on Ebay but thru a coupon site, it can happen.
4. If you pay a seller by paypal and what you receive is "not as described" you can dispute thru Paypal. The seller usually settles with a full or partial refund. If they do not then Paypal will give the refund to you.
5. Sellers can NOT leave bad feedback for a buyer for any reason. This is a good reason why sellers try to accomodate complaints.
6. Only buyers can leave negative feedbacks.

I'm super glad it worked out! I'd ask for the link but I'm sure I already by through her :giggle2: I purchase a lot of my coupons through ebay!
As a Seller who has 60 DVD's leave my office each day I have made mistakes. I'll send a widescreen instead of a fullscreen on occasion. Mistakes happen and it's good when a Buyer and Seller can work through it.
