Our member of the month for March has been choosen! We have nothing but good things to say about her. She is always so helpful to members, expecially the newbies. A generous traders. And helps our moderator team out by letting us know when there are potential issues on the forums.
So lets meet shelleyf!:smile:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Shelley
Home State: Tennessee
Occupation: Part-time delivery driver, full-wife and mother
Marital Status: Married for almost 19 years
Kids: 3
Pets: 4: Schnauzer (Sweetie), Dachshund (Sassy), German Shepherd (Missy), and 1 black cat, Minnie
Little Known Factoid: Alot of times I will send someone coupons that I really want for myself. I like to bless others.
Favorite Money Saving Tip: I feel that if you give someone coupons that you want for yourself you will always get a better deal. It always comes back to you in ways you least expect.
Budget: I currently don't have a budget, but I am striving to be able to have one. I do have a book where I list all my bills a month in advance and what to pay on them weekly and it helps somewhat.
Stores I shop: Kroger, CVS, United Grocery Outlet are my main stores. I sometimes go to Rite-Aid, Walmart (if I really have to) and Food Lion occasionally. I used to go to Walgreens, but they won't let me use more than 1 coupon anymore.
Coupon Organization Method: I use a binder and boxes (for the trade coupons). If someone really wants what's in my binder I will send it to them though. (I don't tell them I really want it though, lol). I found a way that helps me out. I bought some post-its that are small strips. I write the date of the coupon on it with a marker (easier to read). I write for example if something expires 3/31, I write a big 3 and right next to it a small 31. I tape it on the bottom of each pocket of the pages. When I sift through my binder I can see exactly when coupons are expiring very quickly. Every week you can go through the binder and target out the months and exact dates instead of just the months. I don't have to spend a lot of time folding the coupons a certain way doing it this way. I just fold them to show the picture and the amount off. The dates don't have to show at all. I love this method.
Best Advice to Newbies: Don't try to learn everything all at once. Take your time, ask a lot of questions (we don't mind), read a lot, and enjoy yourself. I like when others pm me to ask questions. HCW is very helpful and the members are always ready to help out. :smile:
