How to upload pics in the thread

I know it's posted somewhere here but I can't find it (probably right in front of me)...
What are the rules about posting images of ads? I know posting images of coupons is a HUGE no no, but I see all of the ad images ppl post are pictures of the ad taken with a camera...is there a rule about not scanning them? I have had the opportunity to post the occasional ad or flier in the past and haven't because I questioned this rule.

There's no rule here against scanning them. Some of the reasons folks use a camera instead of a scanner are: 1) don't have a scanner, 2) can do it faster with camera than scanner, and 3) ad pages are too big to fit on scanner.

If you scan/photograph an ad that has coupons in it, be sure to block out the barcode of the coupon.

That's the only rule about ad pictures that I know.

All pictures have to follow the same rules as text content. See the "Forum Management" section of the Terms of Service (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/view.php?pg=terms_of_service). That includes rules like no profanity, no defamation, etc. If you have questions about a specific picture, I'd recommend sending a PM to one of the admin, supermoderators, or the moderator of the specific forum.

ETA: If you did not take the ad photos yourself, you must give credit to the person who did the work.

Gp Advanced in the message box. Then at the top is the little paper clip.

How do you make your pictures bigger? I see some pics that are quiet large but when I try to upload bigger pics it tells me they are too large. Then when I get them small enough to take, they look very small in my post. Is there instructions for doing this somewhere? Thanks!

I know HOW to add pictures, but it doesn't ever work for me. If I go through the pop up box, it just keeps saying it failed. If I do the paperclip, I just keep getting the box with the red x. Any ideas on what my issue is here? TIA!

I have tried to add them directly from my computer and by entering in the url.

I had the same problem. I ended up having to load the photo to my blog and then copy the url from there and it worked. Not sure why it didn't just work from my computer.

I'm trying to find out the same thing. I was trying to upload a picture from my pantry that I took with my iphone. Every way I try to save it, it is way too big for HCW. So how does one reduce the file size to get it small enough to post? Obviously it can be done somehow, since so many folks have posted pictures. Another one of those HCW secrets this newbie would like to learn!

1. find the peper clip button .
2. click on paper clip button. uplaod ur all photos.
3. then agian click on paperclip button u can see ur all attachments n then click on Insert All option..thats it ..TADAAA...:BigHand:

there are two ways you can add pictures to a post.

First way: Upload them as an attachement to the post via the paper clip icon (click Go Advanced, then you will see the paper clip icon, it looks like this: http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/images_hcw/editor/attach.gif

Second way: Host the pictures either in your hotcouponworld photo album or via a 3rd party website like flickr, photobucket, etc. and use the

icon to put the image url and that will also display your picture.

Ok I tried this way out. I was using photobucket. I uploaded a pic to see how it comes out.
