Has anyone tried this? I just heard on the radio that If you buy a $300 gift card at Cub they will put an extra $30 dollars on it.

They said it was their promotion for people to use their tax refund money on.

I might try it because we spend that much every month at Cub and have some money in savings.

No haven't tried it - but that's a pretty good deal - an extra 10% off your groceries essentially.

I did it last year with the stimulus check. It generated a .30 off gasoline crt as well.

Ok - I'm just curious if people are getting the .30 off gas coupon with this or not. It seems that it is not consistant - even at the same store!

One store when asked why they didn't get the gas coupon said then it would be double dipping - .30 now and also when you spent it on the card.

Well - I've picked up two (at two different stores) and gotten the coupon each time. But I've heard of others who haven't gotten the coupon.

But I like the candy bar idea. :)

I bought the gift card for $300, making it $330 with the 10% bonus. I then bought the freezer with the gift card, making the freezer $140 including tax (using the bonus $30 toward the freezer!)

Same thing I did! Did you get the .30 gas coupon? Yeah - got a .30 with the card and then a .15 with the freezer.

I didn't get it either. I saw it print, but she set it off to the side. I'll have to try the candy bar idea next time.

My DH and I have been contemplating getting a new freezer and then I saw this deal. Is it a good deal? We already have one chest freezer and aren't sure if we want another chest one or an upright one. But if the price is right for it and if the coupons are any good, it might a good deal. Any thoughts?

The price is good for one that size. It is small. I thought the coupons were good - I'd use about 90% of them easy.

The problem is being able to find one left - stores ran out quickly on them it seems. I'd definitely call first.

Personally - I prefer uprights - but like I said the price was right. :) The price was comparable to Sam's club etc for that size plus you got the coupons for all the free stuff (and a $25 gift card)
