I'm just starting (got some free coupons from my local coffee shop) and today I bought (after a goof):

First Time
1 fructis shampoo
2 Reeses Whips
1 Electrosol gel tabs

Total: $1.99 OOP - $1.50 rebate for tabs (forgot to use the 2 for $1 WAG on the Reeses Whips-would have only paid about 50 cents)

Savings: $10

Second Time
1 fructis shampoo
2 fructis styling products
2 Ben & Jerrys pints
2 Reeses Whips

Total: 65 cents and that's the 6% sales tax (much better)

Savings: $22.59

I stopped at a "foreign" Walgreens today, and hit the jackpot on Centrum. They had the regular multivitamins in bonus packs. Two boxes taped together, each box had a 100 ct bottle and a 30 ct bottle in it. So, each pack was 260 vitamins. Which is 780 vitamins. And the cost?

3 Centrum bonus packs - 7.00 x 3 = 21.00
less manu coup - 3.00 x 3 = 9.00
less Kellogs RR - 3.00
total OOP = 8.00, and got 10.00 RR

So, for 2 years worth of multi-vitamins, I MADE $2.00!!!!! :BigHand:

Wow!
What an unexpectedly good shop at WAGs today!
I went in and decided to do the Pepsi deal. Since I could only get 2 of the Pepsi One Q's to print, here's what I did...

3 Diet Pepsi 12 packs (3x3=$12)
2 Pepsi One 12 packs (2x3=$6-2x$1 coupons = $4)
1 Gatorade Tiger 6 pack ($6.79)
OOP was $24.15

Since I hit the $20 mark for Pepsi products, so I received a $10 OYNO RR.
Don't forget to clip your UPC's and save your receipt. You can send this along with receipts/UPCs from Frito Lay purchases to get $15 in coupons for future use.

3 Sunday Papers (forgot to put these on the first transaction http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/images/smilies/ROLL%20EYES%2024.gif) = $2.97

So the subtotal was $74.74
Then I used my 10 Aquafresh Easysaver Q's $2 each
3 Fructis Easysaver Q's $2 each
10 Bayer $1 off Any size MFG Q (1/4)
10 Aquafresh MFG Q's 0.75 (1/4)

Today was my first trip EVER to Walgreen's. I got (1) Cover Girl foundation on clearance for $2.79 and (1) Revlon lip gloss on clearance for $2.59. Had a MQ -$2 on Revlon. OOP was $3.74 and I saved $17.60. :BigHand: Only had 10 minutes to spend in store because it was time to get my daughter from school.

I do have a question about the OUST. I have (2) MQ's for B1G1 free. The sale is B1G1 free. How exactly do I work that? Use my MQ's and both are free?:shrug7:

I don't think that is the correct coupon - that coupon is for the Oust Surface Disinfectant & Air Sanatizer. The one you need for this deal is the BOGO up to $ 3.49 for the Oust Air Sanitizer. Walgreens has them on sale for BOGO so in this case you would be paying for 1 and you get the second free. But since you have a BOGO coupon you use the coupon and that makes the 1st one free (1 free from the sale and 1 free from the coupon). So for every coupon you have you can get 2 free.

FYI: since the coupon has a max. value of $ 3.49 and these are $ 3.79 you might have to end up paying $ .30 for the 2 cans.

Hope this makes sense.

The only coupon that is good on this deal is from 11/23 SS & Expires 1/17.
It is bogo up to $3.49. The coupon also says oust air sanitizer.

You will end up paying 30¢ for 2 cans of Oust.

The other coupon is not good this week, as it is not for the item on sale.

I went last week and did the Wyeth products deal that they mentioned in the q insert; can't remember off hand if it was RP or SS....plus, they were offering $10RR on this stuff if you spent over $20,any way my son needed vitamins and cough syrup so, I bought two Centrum vitamins at $7.00 each and two Robitussins at $6.00 each and I used a couple of q's...can't tell you the exact amounts of the q's and all now 'cause I already mailed the offer in (along with the receipts, of course) but I'm thinking my total was around $20 and a bit of change after q's. I got $10.00RR's and I will receive the $10.00 rebate so I got it almost completely free for about 9 months of vitamins and two huge things of cough syrup!! I was really excited about this one! :)

Well today I went on my first Walgreens trip. My total was 13.13 and at the bottom of my receipt it says I saved 33.52 total. I got aqua fresh toothpaste for .24c, the double glade plug in for 99c, the dial hand soap BOGO and they let me use the coupons for 35c on each product. I got Rolaids on sale for 1.89 and had a $4 coupon. Also the Lysol wipes that I got was BOGB double packs plus I had a $1 coupon so I got 4 packs of wipes for 2.79.
I have also discovered everything in my store with the orange clearance sticker was almost half or less than regular price. I am really happy about my first trip, I hope to get better. I thank everyone for the help that they have given me in order for me to understand how couponing works.

Here, in Florida in the newspaper insert yesterday for .60 cents off one Skippy peanut butter product 15 oz. or larger, so if you buy 8 skippy peanut butters for a total of $11.12 then get $10. rr, makes it only 1.12 for 8 peanut butter.

Just wanted to say thanks to Csuniques who posted about Walgreens refusal to sell the Ragu (that thread is closed now for some reason so I am posting this here). I had not studied this week's ad closely and had not absorbed the $10 RR deal--but after reading her story I looked at the ad and learned I could get a combo of Qtips and tea bags to get the $10 RR.

I got 2 Qtips @500 count and 6 Lipton decafs @48 ct @ $2.99 each--and had $2.80 in coupons.

Approx $24 ($3 x 8)
less $2.80 in coupons (2 Qtips and 4 Lipton)
less $10 RR earned
leaves $11.20 before tax--or $1.40 an item! For 500ct Qtips and 48 ct tea bags--that's a good price. :)

--I used the $10 on some other sale items before I left. I like to use the RR immediately so I know I took advantage of them. They don't have a long time before they expire and $10 is too much to let expire!

some stores offer a "military discount" on certain days of the week. Check with your store if you are military and maybe your store offers it.

I always go to two different walgreens and usually really disgusted. I see great clearance deals posted on here and they are never in my stores. Secondly they are not coupon friendly and was about to give up on walgreens all together. Today I decided to make one last trip to another walgreen across town. JACKPOT!!!!!! This was my deal.

10 sunsilk hairsprays at $1.09 each
used 5 $2/2 coupons
1 biofusion shampoo on clearance for 2.19
used $2 esq.

Total was $1.97 and received a $10 RR.:BigHand:

THE BEST PART IS IT WAS THE FRIENDLIEST WALGREEN EVER. THE CASHIER WAS GOING TO GET HER SOME OF THE INFUSION SHAMPOO FOR LATER. I WAS NOT MADE TO FEEL LIKE A THIEF FOR USING COUPONS.
GOD KNEW I NEEDED THIS TODAY!!! hahahAAAAAAAAAA

Heh... I'm in Charlotte, but my folks live in Shelby. We stopped at the Walgreen's on Cox Rd in Gastonia on our way home last week and the manager and staff were SO friendly and helpful. I was sure the Starbuck's Frappuccinos were free with a candy purchase, but it was not marked on the shelf. I wasn't sure if it was a buy one and get a RR, or whether it just rang up free with the candy purchase. The manager was not aware of the sale, but let me try it both ways until it worked. Then he was really excited and said "We need to get some signs up!"

I wish I could go to that Walgreens all the time! Since you're in Gaston Co. (not sure where) you might want to check that one out.

Had a great day at Wags. 4 packs of diapers for .88 cents OOP after using RR's from the pepsi deal and my gift card from my rebates. The cashier was sooo nice. I told her I had 2 RR's and asked if she wanted to do them together or seperate and she said let's just do it altogether, saves us both a hassle. :giggle2: So I put the diapers up on the counter and she said...great time for these to go on sale after the pepsi RR last week, this makes a great time to use them all up. I said yup, That's why I am here. Then she said "oh did you know they are offering a GC for transferring a prescription? you could get even more free diapers that way!" LOL I already knew that but I was like oh that would be wonderful, I will have to do that and then she told me the coupon is in the flyer. Make sure you bring the coupon in with when you transfer. :BigHand: It was a great WAGS day for me! So great to have a NICE cashier after the last few weeks of not so nice treatment. :wink7:

Rolling or looping as Wags wants it known, is using a Register Reward to buy another item(s) that will produce a new RR. Do not use to purchase the same item or others from that company, otherwise a new RR might not print out. RR typically is good for two weeks from the date printed. Other businesses will offer a catalina, instead of a RR.

I had my first coupon transaction today! I did have to spend money (because I don't have enough coupons to stack) but I did stock up on skintimate gel, puffs tissues, cough drops and the Campbells soups. At the first Walgreens the soups didn't come up for the right price but I was to embarassed to say anything. At the second Walgreens I spoke up and got the deal. I wish I had said something at the first one because I paid $4 for three cans of soup instead of $1.80!! I also discovered a mistake on the garnier hairspray on my receipt. I went back in the store and asked them to credit me my $2 they skimped on and they did. So, I think since I have made it through the first tough experience it should be easy from now on! :o)

6 bottles of Olay body botanical fusion body wash $1.29 each
-$1 for each in man. coupons = .29 a bottle
2 24 ct. exedrine extra strength buy 1 get 1 minus a $2 off one coupon

My total out of pocket was 5.xx

I thought I would get $6RR since the sign was right under the body wash but none printed. Either way I am happy for my first trip savings!

Yeah I feel dumb now!! I found the brag thread! On Monday I had a really great day at CVS and a not too bad day at Wags.....I was excited about the free after rebates.
Well, first I should mention that I took my Rx and transferred it from the pharm. that I had it at and took it to Wags to get my $25 GC (they were out, so they gave a check of some kind....don't recall what they called it!). So I used it for this;

I got 2 M&M's 2/$6-$1 instant saver q
Zucol Lozenges 7.99-$2q=$5.99and mir up to $7.99=2.00 mm
Fructis Wonder waves Styling prod. 3.99
Theraflu 5.00x2=$10-$6mir-1-$2q=2/$2
Revlon Creme gloss 9.99-$1=8.99-mir=$1mm

total $36.21-$25GC=$11.21 and I will recieve $28 back on my next rebate from Wags on this trans only, I will buy more M&M's before the end of the deal. So, I will get at least 2 of the tumblers also, and I'm sure I will also buy some of the other things in the book too.

I was sooo excited Monday night that I could not go to sleep!!! Funny huh!!

It is so exciting! Yesterday I had 4 separate transactions & used 4 $10 RR from last week's Theraflu deal. I spent $10 OOP after the RR. I got $24 RR back and I will get $12 in rebates. I was very excited.

I got 2 fusion razors, 2 venus razors, 10 cans of progresso, 6 dranos and 6 windex wipes.

Of course I need razors, I eat soup most days for lunch, I clog up my drains more than anyone I know, so drano always comes in handy and the wipes are great for most everything.

Great day!

Yesterday was my first time at getting a really good deal at Walgreens. I got the Revlon Creme Lipgloss which was B1G1 and I had a $2 coupon off - yay. I will be sending off for the rebate for this so a little MM. They had very little choice in the colors they had but thankfully they had the two I wanted.
I also got the Revlon Pedi Expert Pedicure Kit with the EasySaver $4 off - I have wanted one of these for ages and every store has been sold out.
I got a selection of Valentines candy as well as it was 50% off.

I got that Revlon Pedi Expert thing, too, and I really like it! My total that day at WAGS went down by half--good enough for a beginner like me to get hooked. I ended up getting the Glade Sense & Spray for about $5 after sale and Easy Saver rebate.
I know my standards aren't up to some of yours, but I just started this coupon thing about a week ago. 50% savings is great, in my opinion.

I also got the WAGS diapers for $4. They have them for $7 a pack, then I used the $3 coupon in the store ad. $4 for diapers is wonderful!

Well I hate to brag...but I did great today!
I picked up 4 boxes of gm cereal (4 for $10=$3rr's)
-2 x $1.50/2
2 sense & sprays @ $8.99 ea.
-b1g1free
-$4Q
- $6RR from fusion gamer
When my cashier (the store manager) was finished, she realized that she should have used scanned the RR first-so she voided the transaction. The gm cereal $3RR printed out and she put it on the counter. Then she re-rung me up and when we were done, my total oop was $5.91, which I paid with my gift card. When the second $3RR printed out she handed both to me. I told her I was only supposed to receive one. She told me to keep both, because she knew I'd be back in to spend them:)
How awesome is that? I told her that I did not want to get her into trouble and that's when she let me know she was THE manager.
So, I profited 9cents and will be receiving another $6 from my sense and spray rebate. Great day!

4 for $10 cereal, and got $3 RR. Works out to $1.75 a box after RR!!
3 for $9.99 Reach toothbrush 2-pack and got $3 RR. Works out to a little over $1 a toothbrush after RR!
Yeehaw! The RR didn't print, so they had to give me a gift card. Mgr said the RR's have been screwed up lately. Anyone else have this happen? I'm totally happy with a gift card, though. No exp date, so it's all good!

Okay I'm pretty new at this but couldn't pass this up (I thought it was a great deal... maybe not).

Walgreen's has Nature Valley Granola bars on sale 2/$5. I had 20 50 cent off 1 box of Nature Valley Coupons. Needless to say I purchased 20 boxes of these little gems. So instead of $50, I spent $40, but there's more... LOL
The clerk told me that if I rang these up as 1 transaction, I would receive only 1 $1RR, so we rang it up as 10 transactions for 10 $1RR. Therefore, if I really look at it, I spent $30.... right.... okay it's not super great, but you can't get these bars for $1.50 each around here so I was pretty happy.

If you normally buy them at full price, then its a heck of a deal. Not everything has to be free or almost free to be a good deal. IMO. If I can save money then I did well!

Here's what I got today:
Swiffer sweeper starter kit $10.99
Swiffer refill 5.49
...
$3 Swiffer starter kit
FREE Swiffer refill WYB starter kit

...
Total OOP = $17.85 + $6 RR (which I rolled to buy a doggie bed for $10)

Just curious what size refill you bought? Judging from the price, I'm thinking a smaller size? That FREE coupon WYB starter kit has NO size/price limit printed on it--I've used 2 of those coupons at a different store & got the largest size refill they had (I think 24 ct.?). Totally not knocking your deal--you did awesome--just curious & an FYI for anyone else who wants to use that coupon!:wink7:

I did the Starbucks chocolate deal yesterday. They were 2/$10. I used the save $6/2 in the IVC booklet, and there was a blinkie machine in front of them with $1/1 coupons. Used two of those so ended up paying $1 a box. There was also a $1/1 coupon in one of the boxes, so my hubby is begging me to go back and get more!

I also picked up some of the Breathe Right strips (hubby goes through these like crazy!). They were $5.99 - $3/1 IVC - $1/1 mfq = $1.99/box. Good deal! Speed Stick deodorant was on clearance for $1.69 - .75/1 = .94 each. I've got a teenage boy....can't have to much deodorant lol. Did the Reynolds aluminum foil deal also that's already been mentioned. Did a couple other deals, but the kids threw my receipt out so I can't remember everything.

Total before coupons was right at $30 and after coupons was $11. Not great, but I was happy because it was stuff we needed anyway. Good day!

Went in today three seperate times because I always feel guilty asking for several seperate transactions. All together I got:

2 Gamer razors
2 Embrace razors
6 24 ct Excedrin

Total OOP: 24.00
Total RR Earned: 30.00

Right now I'm out 24 but in the next week or so, those things will end up having been free + $6 earned! I love it!

disabledvetswife-- you did AWESOME!!! My brother is in the army going on 6 years, and he has never participated in Wags rebates, but saw what I have done recently (yes, he has been using Garnier for full price and I fell over laughing, felt bad later) so I am so sad if the program is ending, because he is finally showing interest.... and if he can get this discount too.. wow! Is it every tuesday everywhere? should he call his local wags? reps in advance!

Yes, he should call his local wags...it's not everywhere, just in participating districts. Here it is every Tuesday & you have to check out at the beauty counter because they ring the discount like an employee discount - which has to be done in beauty.

WOO Hoo

Nothing spectacular but some good freebies. I have 3 1/1 Vaseline q's left to use and 2 2/1 Clean and Clears.

Now I just have to find a way to use all these dang RR's. I wasn't thinking and dind't have them with me tonight when I did the vasline deals. I've got 6 $1 RRs' from excedrin and 3 $6 RR from the gamers last week + the 9 $2 RR I just got tonight. I usually use the .33 caramels as a filler but I hate to do that on a $1 RR - seems like wasting 1/3 of it!!

Anyone have some good ideas on how to burn all these RR's?

My stash is overflowing and my husband is out of work so I'm trying to just do deals that are free or moneymakers.

You only had 1 item, but 2 coupons (MFR and RR). You have to have an item for each coupon you use. Next time, buy something really cheap (look through the ad and you can usually find something around .39/.49. Buy that, and then you can use the RR.

Today was my best day yet!!

Between 2 Wags, the overage for the Sambucol, Vaseline, hair dye, toothbrushes, toothpaste, pepto, Vaseline, Curel & my military discount....

I spent $1.03 oop, total savings $269.50 & got back $42 in RRs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only found 1 Blink and I let a fellow couponer (who is kinda new to Wags) buy it. I even gave her 1 of my Sambucol coupons & clued her in on the Vaseline & Dove deal.

I couldn't even use my RRs from last week because my oop was so low (.54 + .49). Oh well, they don't expire until next week.

I haven't been shopping at WAGS much lately. Mostly just getting the FAR items, but I couldn't resist this week. I am exhausted and I think WAGS is going to start charging me rent after 3 days of visiting them.

After many transactions:
6 Olay Body Washes (hydrate & vitality kind clearance for 1.29 & had $1 q)
2 Carmex moisture plus
5 Vaseline Lotions
3 Colgate
2 Blink
2 Hydrogen Peroxide (8 oz. bottle clearance for 0.20-great filler)
1 evian water (thirsty after all that shopping & math calculations)
2 Valentine Pez
2 Easter silly putty
1 Mylanta mint (I was hoping for the overage, but free is good too)
5 Reach toothbrush
8 Dove soap bars (couldn't resist this mm!)
1 J&J 2 oz. meltaway stress lotion (.99 had a $1q & I'm hoping it really works:wink7:)

Total oop = $14.82 (wish my giftcard was reloaded!)
Total savings = $104.56

I still have 17.50 RR for more toothpaste, lotion & FAR items. Now that I know the dove trial size deodorants work for the monthly deal I don't have to keep looking for the 8 dove soap bars!:whistle67:

It was a fun week! I rolled my RR's all week and hardly spent anything. Yesterday I went back out and only 1 store had 8 Dove soap & deodorant product left, another store had 6 left. But for 7.14 oop I got 8 Ritz, 5 soap, 9 deodorant, 5 Gatorade, 2 12 packs, 1 Mylanta, 1 Vaseline & 2 Colgate. I started with 24 RR and ended back up with 25.5 RR. :BigHand: Basically I had to pay for the Gatorade and 2 packages of Ritz as the cashier would not push the q through. And the Pepsi q's sure helped.

This was my first BIG deal as I am new to this, so here's what I got:

$71 for:
-12 packs of Huggies (sizes 1-3); 475 total diapers
-16 bottles Fructis shampoo/conditioner (8 and 8) - didn't have MQ's
-120 pantiliners
-box of hemorrhoid wipes (pregnancy sucks sometimes!)
-3 Cadbury eggs (fillers and a treat for the hubby)
-Still have a $10RR to use

Got my weekly fix today as family calls it. Good run today.

8 twin pack Schick razors

I did it! My first trip! The total before coupons was $76.20 and my OOP was $15.47. I talked to them as soon as I got there, explained that I had to travel a bit to get to their store, and asked if buying more than what was allowed would be a problem. The sweet lady said, NO-buy all you want! YIPPEEEEEE! So far this has worked for me every time. I was even welcomed by the manager at our Dollar General, and she asked some questions about couponing. I explained that I do this to help out my kids, as well as my own household, and she told me to let her know if I needed any help! This is fun, and I am officially bitten by the coupon bug!

One time I went in there He wouldnt let me do deal at all because the total was less than a dollar for a 30.00 order...:rolleyes24:
Today I go in there he ran to the register and checked me out himself...... he told the cashier no one is allowed to check me out but him.... he barely lets me shop.... Can I report This What would u do?

he should'nt treat you like that. I would call his DM or customer service and tell them everything that has happened. HE is the only one who can check you out? that's insane. good luck to you and I hope someone takes care of it. Chicago, Illinois. "CROOK COUNTY", 10.25% tax, it stinks, doesn't it. That's why I try to go out of the county whenever possible, especially for large purchases, ie... cars, appliances, and prom dresses.

Some of you are so lucky I have like 8 walgreens around my house, but the one that is walking distance the manager treats me like a thief its uncomfortable.

Todays shopping wasnt too bad though

i got bag of wipes
2 bags diapers
38 bottles of Garnier spent 25 but got back 10 not too bad ... Had no RRs thats why I spent soooo much

If I were you, I'd report his a@! for harassment. That is just too over the limit.

I went to two stores on Sunday. I bought $210 in merchandise for $2 and I didn't even use my RR's from the week before. The week before I got $232 in merchandise and $10 in RRs for $12. My total would have been less but the register wouldn't accept any more coupons. The cashier had to force the last three coupons as it was.

Hi! Greenhorn here. :new16:I have been reading your messages for several weeks, but this is my first post. Last week I tried to do a deal at Wallgreen's, but realized I need to have a better plan going in. Results were mediocre, but my trip today was great! Here's what I got:

1 Glade Sense and Spray $7.99 - $4 esc - $4 mfq = $.01 overage
1 Glade Lasting Impressions $7.99 - $4 esc - $4 mfq = $.01 overage
1 Dry Idea gel antipersp $1.69 (s/b $2.99?), got $2 RR = $.31 overage
2 Ajax $.99/2 on sale
2 boxes large Ziploc bags 2/$5 on sale - $1/2 mfq = 2/$4
1 Fusion razor $8.99 - $4mfq, got $4 RR = $.99
4 cans Blue Diamond almonds B1G1 @ $3.49/2 x2 - $1/1x2 = $4.98 for 4
4 12-pks Diet Coke 4/$13, got $3 RR = $10 for 4
3 Garnier shampoo/stylers $2.99 x 3 - $1/1 x3 = $.03 overage
1 Advil PM $4.49 - $2 mfq peelie on box, got $2 RR = $.49

I used $9 RR from last week's trip, paid $29 oop and have $11 to use next time. Register receipt shows I saved $69.50! I'm exited and ready to do it again next week!! :dance3: Woohoo!

So...the Huggies deal drew me to Wags for only the 2nd time in my life (it is a bit of a drive). My total (ARV-as if anyone pays THAT) would have been $170.91 and my OOP was $29, but then i remembered the Caregiver's Marketplace so we'll deduct another $4.50, making total OOP $24.50.

They are building one only 3 miles away-hope they finish soon!!!

^WOW. I really really wish I had more glade Q's. I only got 2 of each, but it's ok. I only have one Walgreens that's even relatively close and I'd feel bad clearing them out.

Today I grabbed

(3) Acne Free Terminator 10 - $3.19 each
(2) Garnier Fructis Stylers - $2.99 each

-$4 GF IVC
-(3) $1/1 Acne Free
-(2) $1/1 GF

Total was about $8.40

Got $8 in RR on a GC because the RR printer jammed so the manager just put it on a GC for me. I love how willing to help they are there!

I need to grab my sister and some haircolor Q's to see if there's any on clearance there that she wants to mess with. Hair color is so expensive.

I purchased them on Ebay. I bought the Glade for $3 with free shipping (which came with 20 refill coupons too) and the Garnier for $1.25 with free shipping. Ebay has great deals on coupons! I buy in bulk when I know deals are coming.

So like typical of me, I forgot to scan one of the coupons from the ESC, duh me! So anyways realized it after I left, and came back, I wanted to get a coupon refund. Which for me is huge, since I hate doing that, but anyways, I go and tell the cashier what I did. She laughed and said no prob, they (the cashiers) get so busy sometimes and forget to scan the coupons. What? She said she trys to remember what coupons are in the book so we can get better deals! I went to that wags like 5 different times, each cashier was just awesome and helpful! Way to go Wags in Burlington, Wisconsin. I was visiting family, and don't live down there anymore, but sure wish I did!

I don't know if this belongs in the brag thread or not. I was planning to follow up with an explanation of my earlier post for this week, that got moved here, but now I hope I don't take this too far off topic.

Some folks may think I am just plain greedy, and that I give couponers a bad name. It might be sour grapes since they don't have the stores I have access to, but it doesn't matter what they rep me.

What matters to me is the thanks that I got when I dropped off 412 bottles of Garnier at the women's shelter this morning. I know I've made a positive difference in their lives.

The woman volunteering at the shelter this morning told me the following story as we unloaded my van. Seems a little over two years ago she he had been in an abusive relationship involving her mom and her mom's boyfriend, and after a fight she left both her mom in the apartment they shared with the boyfriend, to come to the shelter.

She had come in to the shelter the morning I had dropped off a huge load of stuff, lotions, shampoo, deodorants, etc. She told me that she will always remember how good it felt to get herself cleaned up, so she could get to church and pray for everyone, but to mostly just talk to someone and regain her confidence. The volunteers at the time told her some old guy had just dropped off a bunch of stuff and she was more than welcome to take some with her, it must have been me.

She said she has been grateful to the shelter for their help, and she has volunteered there once a week for the past year. They helped her find housing, where she now lives with her sister and 2 month old niece.

Sadly, her mom was arrested for dealing drugs, and is in jail. The ex-boyfriend moved to another state. She says she is praying all the time that her mom can get herself cleaned up.

I've been donating for many many years, and most of the time my visits to the women's shelter are met with a sense of tension, especially by the staff who if they don't know me, are very suspicious of men in particular. This was the first time someone opened up to me to share the details of how I played a small part in helping her get her life straightened out.

I thanked her for her volunteer work, told her I am happy to help in the way that I can, but it's people like her that make the most difference in these women's lives.

So now you know why I'm not sure this belongs in the brag thread - I am not looking for any "great job" reps or accolades, etc., and especially don't want replies to this thread to go further off topic. I wanted to share this story in hopes that more people can use their couponing skills to help those who really need it.

I have done the Huggies diaper deal 3x...I only had a few IPs though since my #%@#$%#$^%^ computer blocks downloads from coupons.com (thank goodness for trades!)

I got 3 gariner, 1 scent and spray (before I learned it uses batteries), 4 lasting impressions , and still need to go in to use some RR and get the Lysol wipes. Will probably do the diaper deal a few more times - only kind ds can wear.

On sunday my fave cashier was working and I gave her one of the lasting impressions. I just love her..she is so coupon friendly, cheers me on, actually is nice and pleasant beyond what the job requires. She has has told me when there are clearance deals, if something is B1G1 free and I only grabbed one, etc. Having a cashier like that makes the entire experience of getting great deals 100x better!

I have been studying this forum for a couple of weeks. I am not a usual shopper at Walgreens, usually only go there for meds. The Garnier deal really intrigued me so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I go to work very early, so I thought I'd try then. It was 6:00 a.m., figured I'd be "under the radar", but I was still very nervous.

Here's what I got:

6 Garnier shampoos, conditioners and styling products
12 Packs of Eclipse
1 bag of cough drops

My total was $6.77!!

Well I thought about it all day and decided to go back with my remaining 10 mfg coupons for the Garnier. Actually tried a different Wags because the first was wiped out of stock.

Here's what I got:

10 Garnier
12 Elipse (This is my favorite gum!!)

Total was $8.13!! Now you will notice that there was a difference in price this time. No cough drops this time was one reason. When the manager was checking me out, one of the Garniers rang up wrong and he had to manually change it. When I looked at my receipt, I noticed that I didn't get the ESC credit for that bottle.

At first, I was going to take my receipt back when I went back to work on Monday, but now I think I'll just eat the $2.00. I mean, 16 bottles of Garnier for $2.00 ain't bad.

Thanks for all of your wisdom!!:BigHand:

Nice job! It is exciting to get such great deals huh? I had a hard time getting the Garnier since some stores are limiting the amount you can buy. I finally got about 30 bottles of shampoo and stylers w/o problems. I just got 20 more coupons in the mail today now I have to decide if I want to try to get 40 more. I won't have to buy shampoo for a year! Wags can be a great store to shop, but it is lika all other stores sometimes you get a picky cashier that may unwilling to budge! Good luck and have fun!

Most of my WAGS limit quantities, but this week I found one that had a big sign by the Garnier that said "stock up and save"...so I did get an assortment of Garnier with MQs and ESCs. Great deal!!

this week was the first time i ever went to a walgreens. i never had a problem with my coupons or had limits with anything. all of them had enough stock & i went a few times throughout the week & even when i bought all but 1 of the glade lasting impressions they had on sunday (i bought 4), there were more out on tues when i went again & even more on friday! i never cleared the shelves of anything. my total oop was just under 26.00 (tax alone was about 15.00! & i bought something that was 6.00 w/o a q) my total saved was over 800!!
