you could just come into hcw as a guest and NOT sign iin, then no one would know you were here, of course, then you would not be able to post, just lurk

On other boards that use this software the way around it is to be invisible. It hides you in the users online list and doesn't list the last time you were active online. I can't find that option on this board anywhere.
The only way around it is to not log in but then you can't post.

I don't understand why you need to do that?
IMO the internet is like a public restroom - everybody sees when you go in and come out.

ITA. It's just that some are cleaner than others.

Each VB forum is set up differently. And HCW is set up to not allow registered users to go invisible. Sorry.

I was talking to another member about this last night. I want to know how she is doing this. Please let us know. Someone told me they asked her before but she wouldn't tell them how to do this.

The biggest downside of this for me would be not being able to hit "new posts"..also the whole PM thing, I do a lot of PMing here.

Hey guys, sorry for not getting back to this thread.
Basically what it boils down to is that there is a setting that is either disabled or enabled for each usergroup. It was supposed to be turned off for all usergroups except moderators. But it was turned on for registered users, and the OP is in the trader usergroup for which that was turned off.
It is now, turned off for all usergroups except moderators and since someone mentioned paid members I went ahead and turned it on for our HE subscribers.
Otherwise, if you are here, you are here and everyone can see that your here.
And no one is truely invisible from admin and mods anyways. So if you are a HE or a mod and have put yourself invisible we can still see you here when you on the site and what you are doing and all that jazz. Not that we sit and check where you are and what you are doing, but it comes in handy from time to time. I like to see where people are as a whole and not individually really. Like see how many members and guest are viewing any particular page or feature here at HCW.

I'm doublechecking with Heidi just to make sure that I'm clear, but I think that paying for the No Ads subscription just pays for the ads to be removed and not anything else.
The Hot Entreprenuer subscription is a whole other category.

I'm sorry to report that we've been having issues with giving our hot entreprenuers the ability to go invisible. The software is just not allowing us to offer invisibility to our Hot Entreprenuers so we're going to go back to the way things were just a few short days ago.
Only Mods, super mods, admin can go invisible.
