Ive come across this problem several times in the past couple months.

When the 8th Continent milk was on sale a couple weeks ago..all the regular light in their fridge/shelf were expired.
I purchased 6 bags of the Purdue grilled chicken strips and those were freezer burned when I opened them to cook the next night.
Several shadybrook farms ground turkey packages were brown and outdated still sitting on the shelf.

I contacted an employee about the milk and was told "its not my department".
I returned the purdue chicken strips and the clerk just shrugged and gave me refund when I tried to tell her the problem. I took a walk back to the fridge for ha ha's and "felt up" some other bags and sure enough, I could feel the chunks of ice in them.

On Saturday when I went to pick up some frees, the Trident splash blueberry were dated 10/08

Yes, I check dates on EVERYTHING. Especially when stockpiling.

So now I stick to just purchasing "safe" products from A&P.

I wont stop shopping there altogether because the deals are too amazing with the weekly 3 triples and doubles.

Very frustrating, indeed! To be honest, I refrain from buying meat from my local A & P because they've had major problems in that department -- in fact, a few years back, ABC news did a report on bad meat found at this same store!

In addition to complaining to the manager, I would also contact the manufacturer of these goods, tell them of your troubles with the particular item (and that you are a loyal customer) and ask them to send you a coupon that equals the amount of what you paid. 99.9 percent of the time, manufacturers are happy to send you a coupon.

Good luck!

Wow, I hadnt heard about the news report. Apparently, they havent cleaned up the problem.
I thought it was just one particular store I frequent but when I had a problem at another location, I knew it had to be the company in general.
