Love, Love...amish country. I went there by myself last fall, and it was really comforting and peaceful.
Let me know if anyone in my area is around! I know that their is a Northeast Ohio couponers group that a lof of the ppl from around town belong to. But, you arent aloud to get in on the good areas of their board until you have at least 25 posts....I repsect that- but its just not feasible for me. It would take me forever to do!
So..... happy couponing everyone! I love that I have found the secret to saving money!! Finally!

I am sitting here giggling because most of the places that have been named, i've been shopping there. Always in Akron. and C-Falls (LOVE Chapel Hill Mall!) Always go to Stow to eat at Texas Road House, Sandusky, love it because there is a Meijer and Kroger up there... Wayne County... Ahhhh old stomping grounds.

Ashland, ahh yes. First place i ever recieved a ticket....

Columbus- stop there while driving to wadsworth lol

Hello from Youngstown Ohio Area. New to area from the UK. New couponer and am very quickly becoming addicted to HCW. My DH thinks that when you join HCW, there needs to be a disclaimer for the addictive tendencies of this site!!!

Shocking! I didn't know people deliberately moved to Youngstown! Usually they run the other way! There must be a very good reason you moved there...
I've spent some time near London and I would love to go back. Not much in the way of coupons there though...

OMG, I am so happy that I found this thread!

I live in the Columbus area (New Albany to be more exact!) and I JUST posted on one of the newbie boards that I am struggling to get started so I can eat something other than cereal and scrambled eggs while I am working out some things in my budget!

If anyone here in Ohio would be willing to share tips (I can't even figure out which Kroger forum is for the Columbus area or how to get any deals from my Giant Eagle) I would GREATLY appreciate it! For Krogers I think you'd be in the Great Lakes one, but could be mistaken. I am in that one for Zanesville store which obviously is quite south of the Great Lakes. ;)

Wow!!! I am glad that I found this thread!! I am in Toledo. Shop mainly at Kroger and Giant Eagle....every now and then Meijer. Wags rules are too confusing for the effort. So I don't shop there unless they have a super good deal. They closed all the CVS around here years ago....the closest one to me is in Monroe, MI. But Giant Eagle more than makes up for that with their super doubles. Glad to meet everyone here.

Welcome!!! I'm from Belmont County. I often go to Amish country. I LOVE Amish country. Anyone from Columbus and is just starting out couponing you're in a wounderful place because there are so many stores with many bargains. Krogers in Columbus usually doubles up to .99. You have Walgreens and CVS. You sure can stockpile if you live in the Columbus area. There are a lot of great stores.

Eh, they do pretty good MOST of the time...Normally I dont make it to the store until Sat or Sun and they have only been out of something I wanted 2 or 3 times..they are also expanding (FYI). The cashiers are normally really nice too, and coupon friendly!:smile:

Giant Eagle is the big grocery chain in the area, but use Walmart to price match. I think there may be some small grocery stores that offer deals down where you are.

I am new to all of this, so these may be simple answers. Just curious. I DO use my gas rewards. I get a free tank of gas (28 gal. x $4.00 today = $112 savings) approx. every 6-8 weeks. I purchase gift cards for stores that I am going to shop at, etc. to increase my fuelperks, etc.

Actually Walmart is further than GE for me. I have 4 GE's within driving distance and the 2 Walmarts are further than any of those. I consider Walmart only if the coupon would not be doubled ($1 or more, buy one get one free, etc), or if I plan on going to many stores and need to do only one d/t time.. I wasn't sure how close you are to either store and if they are in different directions.
I buy gas typically only every 10-14 days so I just use whatever discount I have at the time.
I am not not a fan of Walmart but some pepole are. The amount I spend at Walmart in a year is probably less than $200, including oil changes and coupons.

Wow, we really are all over the place. I'm in Cambridge. The Middle of everything and still the middle of nowhere..lol

I could easily go north or west or a little south. Not too far to the west though or I'm in WV or PA. I guess south would take me to WV too if I go more than 45 min.

I usually shop in Zanesville.

Love Amish country though. I frequent Ashery's store outside of Berlin. Love it. Last time I was there, I got oatmeal for $.50 a lb and cornmeal for $.25 a lb. Won't need those for a few yrs. They are taking up a lot of room in my freezer though.
