my magical envie didn't come today, and I don't think we would have made it anyway. DH is off at 10 ish, and I think all of our local PNS stores are closing at 11 now, I don't know why. :(

Bummer, mine changed thier hours too Melli, not that I would be out at 11:30 p.m. But I wonder if it isn't to save money because it isn't a nessecarily high volume hour.

I was thinking the same thing. I enjoyed late night shopping trips there. Oh well, more business for woodmans over night!
Those tomatoes go on sale pretty regularly, so it's not a huge deal that I missed this one. Plus, I got some Muir Glen 28 oz cans pretty much for free today, so that should hold us over :)

You beat me to it - I was just about to add the Muir Glen deal w/ $1/1 Q's. I love MG products, so free or almost free is a real deal for me.

I'm waiting to see if they end up going 10/10 again on the 28 oz cans. That was a heck of a score last year, but I overbought on the diced tomatoes and underbought on the tomato sauce last time :(
Both of the kinds of tomato products we have been discussing here are really favorites in my household, so lucky for us they keep going on sale :)

I think I could almost never have too many diced tomatoes. Rarely do I use sauce' however; I am thinking about whipping up some spag sc. with these freebies and freezing it.
BTW: hello G in beautiful Nashota! Do you live on the lake?

Actually I live on the isthmus between Pine & Okauchee Lakes, in Stone Bank. The Nashotah post office kindly delivers our mail!

Oh sure, we have friends that grew up in Stone Bank; it's part of the KM school district, it's sort boarderlining on Pewaukee too, right?

funny I grew up in Hartland. I love the MG basil tomatoes. I blender them add tomato paste and slow cook all day for basically free spaghetti sauce. yum!! Don't add the tablespoon sugar until the end or it will burn.

that's pretty much how we do our free tomato sauce too. Otherwise, the chunky tomato sauce cooks down nicely, and if I happen to have paste I add it, if not, oh well. :) It's yummers either way!
