I did call the offer hotline and they don't even have info on this MIR yet LOL She said that being it says "Form and receipt must be from the same participating retailer" that stores like Walmart, Target and Kmart will most likely NOT be participating. So only local grocery stores.

The dates are 3/25 - something on the website, so GE's must be different than other areas stores. The CS rep said she's requesting the info be updated and that within a week they'll have the full details of the stores and what the dates are.

It's not in the ad - it's in the Sunday coupons - SmartSource for 2/22. Says it goes from 2/19 until 3/4 - so we have those 2 weeks to find 30$ worth of stuff cheap to get the free dustbuster :-)

That's what I thought but, I'm waiting until I get my SS ad with the page showing that you should receive $5 for 4 items and the fact that it doesn't state one per transaction. Since it's with the ad for buy $30, my argument will be that it's implied that the deals are together and there is nothing stating that you can't receive more than one $5 cat.

Hold onto your receipt and as soon as you get your ad, go back to get your other $5 cat.

Oh!! With all of the conflicting dates, I didn't realize that the promo started today! This is only for GE right? Other stores start later?

Does anyone have any confirmed scenarios? I still have my free cascade rinse agent coupon that I am going to use. I need to get the total down pretty cheap since I have been counting every penny lately!!

LOL Ok - the promo starts today (2/19) for Giant Eagle. We have until 3/4 to purchase the items at Giant Eagle. We have until 3/11 to get them sent in.

Now, every other grocery store (Albies, Kroger, etc) will most likely have the promo from 3/25 until 6/30 - they will have tearpads instead of the form in their sunday paper.

Same thing happened with the Free Crocs wyb P&G items back in..uh..whenever it was LOL Giant Eagle had it where you bought 40$ worth of P&G items in one transaction and a catalina popped out for you to send in for your crocs. Every other grocery store had the tearpads. I guess GE just likes to be different :-)

Soooo - if you are a Giant Eagle shopper - you have the next 2 weeks to buy your 30$ of P&G items in one transaction and send in the form in the 2/22 SmartSource. You get first dibs at the dustbusters :-) Now, if my coupons would just hurry up and get here I'll be happy LOL I have a feeling that as soon as the Sunday paper comes out its going to be hard to find Febreze sprays even though there are a bazillion on the shelves now!

I may go buy diapers too - send that rebate/dustbuster to my mom. I can't wait until next week's ad - hopefully they'll have another good P&G deal too - then I could do some more and send them to my MIL and anyone else I can think of LOL Cheap presents for everyone! in one transaction: ( if you have any cats from this or prior weeks, they'll help lower your initial oop)

Buy 4 febreze (use 4 $1/1 q's) pay $6 - get $5 back
Buy 4 crest premium toothpaste - use 4 $1.50/1 q's - pay $4 get $3 cat
Buy 2 razors - use b1g1 q - get $5 cat and pay $6

Then repeat, repeat, repeat but, use the 3 cats - pay $3 for all subsequent dustbusters

I don't want to take the chance that my purchases won't qualify for the dustbuster and plan on going on sale prices to make my $30 purchase

I just called P & G customer service and confirmed the $30.00 purchase is before the coupons are deducted but is based on the actual sale price of the items, not the Giant Eagle regular price.

I just wanted to give a heads-up that if you plan to do the P&G deal including the Duracell batteries, the sale seems to only run through this week. On Thursday Energizer batteries go on sale so I am assuming that the Duracell will not be on sale also.
In short, if you plan to buy the Duracells, do it before Thursday.

Alright! Got up super early (for me) and did 2 transactions :-) And got home in time to get DS ready for school LOL

If you're getting Crest (buy 10$ get 3$ oyno), look for the bonus boxes that look like 2 boxes of toothpaste shrinkwrapped together. They are 1 full size tube and then in the bonus box there is a trial size Crest Pro Health Toothpaste, Pro Health Rinse, and Glide Floss.

and there are COUPONS! :-)

3$ oyno of hba is from the 10$ in Crest, 5$ oyno of hba is for buying the 2 Gillette Mach3 disposable razors, and the other 5$ oyno (no hba limitations) is from the 4 Air Effects.

They do have the "Cannot be used on P&G items" restriction as well, but scanned fine on my 2nd order - which technically only had P&G hba items...Guess it's YMMV if the cashier knows what P&G is or isn't. :-)

I did this deal twice today. Both totalled over $30 BEFORE coupons. I read before I left that someone called P&G and they said the total was before coupons. Now I come home and read someone else called and it has to be $30 AFTER coupons?!? :sad:

My question is, should I go and return everything and try to re-buy with adding groceries? Is that even possible since they have all my coupons and OYNO anyways?

Also - I was expecting to get a catalina form like with the Crocs a few months back but didn't rec anything today?

I did this deal twice today. Both totalled over $30 BEFORE coupons. I read before I left that someone called P&G and they said the total was before coupons. Now I come home and read someone else called and it has to be $30 AFTER coupons?!? :sad:

My question is, should I go and return everything and try to re-buy with adding groceries? Is that even possible since they have all my coupons and OYNO anyways?

Also - I was expecting to get a catalina form like with the Crocs a few months back but didn't rec anything today?

No, we just have the form that was in the Sunday paper...nothing spits out of the catalina machine other than the oyno cats if you get that stuff. I seriously don't think the CS knows all the details yet.

I also doubt they are the ones who will be doing the checking of rebate submissions. I seriously can't see the clearing house going through and trying to figure out what coupons were used on what items, and in the case of oyno's, that's a GE promotion that are given from other companies - like the 1$ oyno for buying French's....it wouldn't be fair for P&G to penalize us for using catalinas to go below 30$ either.

It's also not stated anywhere on the form or on the website that the total is 30$ after coupon deductions. So in my opinion, and I'm not guaranteeing anything lol, I think we're fine either way. 30$ before or after coupons, and total OOPs more or less than 30$ - they'll most likely just look at the circled items and make sure they add up to 30$

As far as your Crocs, I just read somewhere about a number you can call to find out about them - because some people are still waiting. I'll post it if I can figure out where I saw it.

I am SO MAD that I screwed this up. I didn't read through all the threads clearly enough to understand that you have to have your grocery bill total $30 or more. I bought $30 worth of P&G stuff, but with coupons, etc., it was $15.xx. I didn't get any kind of tearpad or cat from the GE receipt thing, so I am thinking I am screwed. DANG IT. I did get the $3 and $8 hba onyos, but still, I could have gotten toothpaste, razors, and Cascade for free another time probably.

Bummer....I hope those of you are right that say it is only $30 worth of items, and not the final total price.

Can someone report back that did make sure their final was over $30 to tell us if they got a P&G cat or something similar? THANK YOU.

That's the cool thing about this board - I love seeing everyone helping out and sharing deals. Makes it so much easier, can you imagine having to figure everything out if we didnt have the internet?? Oh the horror! LOL

I think everyone is freaking over nothing. - First of all, the form came in the coupon insert on a Giant Eagle advertisement page - to me that IS the official offer form FOR Giant Eagle.

2nd - NO where does it state ANYTHING about coupons - before or after.

3rd - P&G Promo Helpline had no information about this promotion up until just this week. They can't even get the participating stores correct. Of course they're going to tell you it needs to be 30$ after all discounts. Just like GE customer service tells you that the oyno cats go by sale price. LOL

4th - Every other P&G promo has gone by price per item. They don't check OOP, they don't check coupons. They see if you bought X$ of stuff and there ya go. I think the only rebate you have to worry about your OOP total is with Glucose Meters (I think it's Bayer?) who will deny you if you used coupons or ECBs (from CVS) to pay for your meter.

So everyone take a deeeep breath....it'll be ok LOL And think of it this way - everything we're buying is shelf-stable items. If they deny you, return the razors *wink* LOL Just make sure you copy or scan everything you're submitting - receipt (the whole thing - top to bottom), form from the paper and envelope. Mark when you sent it and don't lose any sleep about it :-) Soon enough we'll be dustbusting our butts off!

When this was first posted I called and asked about the coupons. The agent didn't have the information on this specific promotion but she did tell me generally speaking what counts is the price before coupons.

I don't know what happens if your grand total is under $30.

Well....after a flat tire, missing my DS' dentist appointment, and being short one MQ :hectic1: I managed to do the suggested scenario....no Cat's (no dustbuster form cat either)....go to CS & they put it all on a gift card which meant I could buy anything I wanted :whistle67: BUT I forgot to ask for the form :sad: and I don't know if they even have them at the store....there is no form in last Sunday's insert anywhere in my area

I did however manage to get 4 febreeze, 3 crest, 4 packs razors, 5 shave gels, bananas, 5 lbs carrots, and 1 box of capri sun all for about $20 after coupons, gift card and 1 cat (at a different store that the machines actually work at) which is really great :encourage19:, but I still want a dustbuster, and something tells me I'm gonna have to wait til :pig5:on this one huh?

I did something similar yesterday. The only thing different was 1 infinity allways pads using a free coupon (shelf price 5.29)

Here's a scenario I'm doing tomorrow:
2 dawn/2 febreeze= $10 - $4q's= $6 get $5 oyno
2 mach 3= $12 - B1G1 (6) = $6 get $5 oyno
3 crest=$7.50 - $4.50q's = $3 get $3 oyno if goes by shelf price
1 cascade rinse= $3.69 - free q= 0
= $33.19 sale price-q's=$15 and get $13 in cats
and a free dustbuster!

Have the store ad or coupon insert stating the offer with you (might also be on the shelf).

Tell the clerk your story of woe, that you purchased the items and did not receive your Catalina(s).

If you have to, insist that they start a new transaction (at the Customer Service Desk) scanning the items to see if the Catalina will print.

they can then void the transaction.

If the Catalina prints, they can give it to you since you did not get one.

Aren't you in Dover? I was thinking you were from the introduction thread. If so this is where I shop and I have never had a problem of it going by shelf price. Hmmm I've only been shopping at GE for a few months so one never knows.

Just got back from my nearly disastrous shopping trip. All went fine until I went to get my last items- the razors.

They only had 1 in stock. Thinking, thinking... I substitute the Venus disposables instead (I thought it was a $3 off Q, but it's only $2). Bad luck is I only have 2 of those coupons and I need 4. And I had the Free Suavenomics coupon which has been ringing up $3 off, regardless, so I added a $1 shampoo in hoping for $2 overage.

Well the Suave coupon beeped so I only got $1 off - so overall that dustbuster cost me $6 more than I expected.

The next one went fine and without the BOGO Q it cost me $2 more.

The cashier kept trying to tell me the computer would only take one OYNO- I had her try one of each kind. She said the training kid she was subbing for was going to get in trouble for taking more than one per order. I've never had trouble using multiple cats per order. And none of these were like. Ugg.

So with the 2 dustbusters costing me $8 more, wasting money on coupons I didn't end up getting or using (I also left a stack of crests Q it was too late to do multiple trans of those). I just feel really down today in the bargain shopping world.

I've been debating this myself. I thought I added enough groceries to my transactions, but since I didn't really total it up I was still under $30 both times for everything in my carts. LOL I don't want to black out anything on the receipt because I'm concerned it might void it, but I might copycat Terry.

For me, I would like to get the dustbuster, but in the end I made a choice I thought was most beneficial to me and did two transactions of $30 before coupons to get the OYNO knowing P&G may not accept my receipt even though it's not stated in the rules. That's just me though. ;)
