On my way to the commissary I stopped at the px to drop my son off and a woman came running out after a man. I just assumed they were goofing off until an onlooker called the police. I just wanted to warn everyone not to let their guard down, I know I tend to think we're immune to crime on base.

Wow, that's a pretty ballsy thing to do on a military base, lol.

I just started looping my purse's shoulder strap through the seat belt in the top part and snapping the belt closed. I saw another shopper doing it and thought why not, now I'm going to be sure I wrap the seat belt around it very securely.

a few weeks ago I saw a woman complaining to customer service at my commmissary that she had been pick pocketed out of almost $200. sad, but all i could think was why would you keep $200 in your back pocket?

There was a purse snatching last week at the APG commissary. I had my purse in the seat with my coupons out and had walked a few feet away to grab something and a stocker came up and told me to be careful and not walk away from my purse because of what had happened earlier in the week.
I agree we seem to feel more secure on post. I'll definitely be more careful from now on.
