I'm just curious what other people do. I mostly send emails as I'm not really a phone person. How do you do it?
I was writing down who I contacted and if they sent anything, but haven't really kept track recently. Do you keep track of every one you contact?

I email and keep track in a google document.

Yeah, Vanessamarie rocks! She has a great recent post on this. I have not kept track until recently, but I am starting to now. I do not have a lot of time to do this - but am going to try to make the time at least once per week. I have had a very good response to my emails.

Yes, thanks Vanessa for your list! I was doing some emailing this week and your post was made me start this poll.

I e-mail as we get awful phone reception at home. I do keep track in a spreadsheet as well, but have been very lax in sending e-mails so its not very useful to track the few I get out.

I'm a big e-mail person. The e-mail Queen over here. I've e-mailed CVS, Sears, my kids school/teachers. That's how I communicate. I think I'm better at it, but it can get you into trouble too.

I mostly email - I don't like calling unless its automated. I've tried to keep track of every Company I've emailed & what I received if anything. For me I check what other people are posting that they are getting & write to those Companies hoping that if others received a good coupon or frees that I might too & this usually holds true. I 1st wrote to approx. 125 companies & then wrote again after about 4 months to the companies that sent me coupons the 1st time that were good.

I email them. I'm not a phone person at all. If I can't email them I will not contact them.

I try to keep track of the companies I contact, but that's not easy to do. I'm so busy so I mostly keep track of ones that have sent my coupons not the ones that don't other than that they don't.

Most of the time I simply email the company, unless there is a major complaint like my son's walker and pajamas that posed safety hazards. I usually keep track of all of the companies I contact in an Excel spreadsheet so that I can recontact the companies that are generous with Qs and not waste my time with the others.

I email companies because most of the time I am doing it late at night like ten or later. I like the spreadsheet idea, think I will sell it. :wink7:

Anyone have an example of how the do their spreadsheet.

I am going to really stay on top of these and email often. I only did seven last weekend and I received five "yes we will send you something". Wonderful suprises as well. Just hoping for something but ending if with Frees or a big envelope full.

Every few weeks I massively email companies using roboform and I copy and paste a little letter in. I also use a "coupon" email account with google so I don't get floods of spam in my personal inbox.
Complaints I would definitely keep records off...but I email so many companies I just don't have time to keep track at the moment.
Some companies are very stingy and some are great!! Kashi sent me 5 free's for any product up to $5...and 5 $1 off Qs. That was well worth the 30 seconds I was on the site!!
I probably emailed the companies about 2 weeks ago and ...today I have..7 envelopes from companies...and that's just today.

Yesterday I easily have 50+ envelopes in the mail (more than half were from the bricks ones)
DH was like...OMG! ..:nocomment77: he didn't like opening that much mail. We need a letter opener.

:thanks7:

Once again I am really behind. :hectic1:

Could someone point me in the right direction as to the ins and outs of this whole topic? I am a visual person and words do not come easy to me. When you email what do you say and/or ask for? I'm guessing I can get all addresses or email addresses from their webiste.

Do you request from the most popular companies regardless if you need those particular coupons? Or just the ones you would use?

TIA for the help and ideas.

Is there already a good list of emails somewhere on the site or do I just start searching?

TIA

I use RoboForm in my business. Would you share with me how you use it to email the companies. Right now, I am only using it to store passwrods.

Thanks!!

I only email, I hate talking on the phone. I try to do at least 1 a day, but often times have days where I do 10+. I keep track of every business I contact. I have a handy spreadsheet where I type in the business and the date contacted. Once I receive goodies I color coordinate the business name so I know what was sent. I separate between "free" "$ off" "both" or "free sample". Then I have a formula set so that every 4 months(120 days) the date will turn green and I know I can contact them again. I will email a company 2-3 times and if I never recieve something from them, I change them to red and will not contact them again. Works well for me. I have a pretty long list and continue to add to it.

I email them since it's easier. Lately I have emailed a few companies and I have gotten coupons for FREE products such as coffee, coffee creamer, pizza & I have received letters from 2 companies,one said they are reimbursing me for the yogurt I bought & the other said they are sending me a coupon for a FREE full size tube of the arthritis creme I use. {there were problems with both these products}

I email them but I don't keep them in a spreadsheet or anything. I just keep the homemailers they send the coupons in and write on the envelope what they send and then I place them in my bin and store in my closet.
