Now to go to the store and scope out the other Q booklets...

I'm also from NE Ohio(Boardman). Glad we could all meet here and discuss the deals.
Lifeskills, you are my idol. To do the deals you do, with two little ones, and your budget. I'm in awe. Sometimes I just look at your list (and others) and make mine from that. Diaper deals weren't that good when my son was little(he's 17) and now I have 2-3 big appetites to feed (DH, DS, and stepson when he visits-he eats more than any of us and still skinny as a rail). Add to that DS has autism and that behavior issues and everything else and work, I'm usually too tired to study GE deals too much.
Thanks to everyone that posts and please continue.
Don't forget to email companies to cheer/complain and look for freebies samples. I'm taking DS to Disney soon and the samples of shampoo, soap, deoderant, food and Tide will come in handy ($2 for a single use at the hotel-eek). I don't have to pack bottles and bring them back. Scissors are going in the outside pocket of the luggage to open them, I learned that when the security at the airport opened my luggage and couldn't close it so they secured the zipper with a plastic thing and I tried to get scissors from the front desk to undo it and get to my clothes at 11 pm when we got to our room, scissors always come in handy for stuff like that.

Do not read too much into this post but one reason I purposely mention what city is that I live in is because I consider an electronic message board as a community.
Community as in 'helping each other out.'
+
I am the very first one to protect my privacy by not mentioning personal information but stating the city helps others.
I have helped a fellow couponer in the great state of FL purchase a digital postal scale from a store not located in FL (Harbor Freight).
Other times it is with Giant Eagle RX coupons for people in PA, MD, and OH.
No skin off my nose, whatsoever ... I was glad to help.
Asking nothing in return, I do suggest that they Pay It Forward.
+
Basically, I will bend over backwards to help others because I know about karma and because it is the right thing to do.
If one does not wish to post their city in their post, they can post it in their profile or give a decent generalization in terms of their neck of the woods.
+
I have even met my fifth grade teacher on an electronic message board.
First reading each other posts and then communicating by email, we just had too much in common.
So, one Memorial Day weekend, we decided to meet at the Berea, OH Public Library entrance.
Bring photos!
+
Onward and most importantly, upward!

I got some coupons in mine too, but the whole insert isn't in there. Just 2 pages. It looks like they ripped though, so who knows. I just hope that we're still going to get the RP in the newspaper.
And looking at the GE ad, I am really hoping that the $4 OYNO when you buy $10 deal with the popcorn and hebrew national works off of shelf price. Shelf price on the hebrew national is 5.99, so buying 2 for $7 - $4 cat = 2 packs for $3? Did I do that right? Even without coupons, that's a great price!

I am also a devout Hebrew National follower. I can never stock up on enough of these for baseball season. I have paid for far too many $6 packs of these things. Target usually has them for $2.50 regularly so you run out of your free ones, they are the place to go.
After looking at the redplum I got with the circular...It appears to be the same as the one that is coming out in the Sunday paper. I hope this is a new thing...I love free coupons.

No Target close by, but if I'm around one I will remember that. Wal-Mart used to sell those 2/5 too, but the price just keeps going up. I sure hope I can find the coupons, my husband even seemed happy about that deal when I told him.

I got my early addition of the sunday inserts and was shocked cause i only got smart source. I was thinking maybe I just got one that did not have everything. But when i got my GE ad and stuff and got a red plum, I think it was no mistake. Other areas have already started just mailing the red plum and i think its hitting here now. It used to be in the trib and that stopped a few months ago :(

With no topic for Marc's, I hope I can post this here as many of us are from NEOhio and shop at Marc's. My 85 year old Mom went in Marc's this a.m. to buy Dinty Moore for $1.68 as advertised. They were on a display right in front of the registers where you come in. There was a lady there blocking the display with her cart on one side and her body on the other. Mom was in no hurry so she stood patiently by. It soon became apparent that the woman was removing peelies for 55c off the tops of the cans and had only a single can in her cart. After my mom counted 24 peelies removed, she asked the lady to leave her 4 cans WITH the coupons left on. The crazed woman turned to her and said "you can just stick it up your @ss and let your mouth burn!". She reached in front of the lady and took 4 cans and the lady told her to get the hello out.Can you guys believe it? I told my mom she should have gone to customer service but she said she was afraid the lady would get her in the parking lot. This sort of behavior is what gives us all a bad name.

Wow, so I guess my early inserts weren't missing the RPs then.... That sucks!! sorry - but it does! Only getting one per house is just wrong! So I guess they're going to be mailing to everyone in the PPG and Tribune areas. Yuck. Now what are we going to do? Wonder if any other little papers will still have the RPs.
I may start writing all the companies who put their coupons in the RP and tell them to go with SS, otherwise I'm not buying their stuff LOL

Cuyahoga Falls OH checking in!
The Green Giant valley fresh steamers are 4 for $8 so with one of the various .50 coupons out there that would make them $1.
The Hunts canned tomatoes seem like a good deal. If they are going off shelf price you would only need to buy 8 to get the cat. Plus there are .40 off two coupons out there.
cwilliams130

I almost forgot to add that trident gum is on extended TPR for $1. With the .75 off coupon from 1-48 SS it makes it free! Also the Trident extra care is only $1.49 at my GE regular price so that would be free too!

Off topic, but two notes from this topic, I did hear Redplum was going to test the Pgh market, so I think people should email them RIGHT AWAY and let them know what they think. I don't like that it won't be in the Pgh pg, as I buy 10 papers sometimes. This section today was way to thin, and I hope it gets better.
Also, I voted just now to add a Marc's forum. I love that store, and I look every week to see if anyone, anywhere has a Marc's forum.
I live in the North Hills Area, PA, and I LOVE OHIO!!!! Marc's is great!!!!

So I was reading this afternoon about some of you in the Pgh. area getting you RP in the mail and I got so excited! I went to the mailbox and the RP wraparound was there, stuffed with the GE and S&S ads and tons of coupons-for fast food  3 ads for Ikea (inserter machine must have been stuck) and assorted other junk ads. So if the PG isn't going to have the RP and I'm not getting them in the mail, I'm scr**ed. I think I may have to make a call to the PG and tell them how many newspapers I will NOT be purchasing on any given weekend.

Well, I emailed them and told them how disappointed I am in their decision to pull out of PPG. I also said that I hope that the companies who currently advertise in their insert decide to go with SmartSource instead LOL

So if the PG isn't going to have the RP and I'm not getting them in the mail, I'm scr**ed. I think I may have to make a call to the PG and tell them how many newspapers I will NOT be purchasing on any given weekend.
Make sure you email Vallsis too - there is a link on their page for contact us, then select consumer, and there's a couple choices from there, either 'I didn't receive coupons in my paper' or one or two other 'complaint' ones.
I'll be emailing or calling PPG tomorrow too, to let them know I subscribe to 2 papers a week and usually buy anywhere from 2 - 10 additional papers...which I probably won't be buying. Unless of course the companies currently in the RP decide SS is the better choice - which I'm considering emailing them too and telling them they better go with SS or their sales are gonna drop in this area LOL

Here is the distribution list for RP newspaper inserts - doesnt look like anything in western pa! Johnstown would be the closest newspaper - and I doubt anywhere around here sells it LOL http://www.valassis.com/combo/pdf/2009_FSI_MarketList.pdf
Well, I emailed them and told them how disappointed I am in their decision to pull out of PPG. I also said that I hope that the companies who currently advertise in their insert decide to go with SmartSource instead LOL
i see NO plaindealer!!! oh no! no pitts Post...only akron beacon journal..well at least its better then just the vindicator..i don't even see the trumbull tribune

You might still get them in the mail - maybe they're slowly rolling out the mailed areas. I want to say that my mom started getting them in the mail before I did - and then all of a sudden a couple weeks later the Trib stopped having the RP. Because I remember getting all excited that I was getting a bonus RP insert for a couple weeks...and then was heartbroken when I saw no RP in the paper.
Poor LS - her 1st time getting the ad early and then the thread gets taken over by complete chaos :-)

At my store I found them on a cardboard standup display of Orville popcorn. The display was about chest-high and they had it at the end of one of the frozen food aisles...but looks like it could be put anywhere.
I sent my mom on a coupon hunt at her GEs...hopefully she'll be calling soon and give me the progress report LOL

(i got some .50/1 coupons so .50a dip isn't bad :)
Dean's dip girl here. And oh yes, another NE Ohioan. Stow to be exact.
One time my Dean's dip froze. When it thawed it tasted the same but the texture was all wrong.

so if the it tasted the same..hmm i read to get the texture better is to blend it back..like in a blender, its dip so it doesn't hurt to have it mixed up. hmm im goin to try it..buy some and stick one in the freezer then wait a week :)
i also read when your dealing w/ strawberries or anything else that changes texture when you freeze it, should be froze fast with dry ice in a tub (covered of course) then once its froze put in the freezer..when you need it unthaw it..the texture will be saved :)
of course i ain't goin to go thru all that trouble lol plus i get a headach when dryice is around lol

Okay, guys...this is getting WAY too OT. This thread is meant for posts and discussions about the weekly Giant Eagle deals. I feel for the Marc's shoppers, but this is not the place to post deals at that store. If everyone votes for a new forum I'm sure you'll get one, but for now the only place for Marc's deals is this forum: Other Grocery Stores - Hot Coupon World (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/other-grocery-stores/)
Also, there's a new Giant Eagle roll call thread here (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/giant-eagle/207205-giant-eagle-roll-call.html), so everyone can post their locations and discuss away...
Thank you!

Hey everyone, I know it can be annoying getting off-topic if you're not interested in what's talked about. I'll contact the mod's and see if we can't get a Marc's forum and I could help moderate it with someone else on here maybe?
Sorry if our "Hi" postings from NEO junked up the thread and our Marc's stuff.
I second, or is it "third" the motion. Many times I see deals at Marcs with no where to post them, this time I responded here since the sale is in direct comparison.
PLUS we have to deal with the black and gold taunting, whatever it is, it sounds like something good that we don't get LOL

these have a new date on them. they do not expire to end of march. I met my blinkie lady yesterday lol. I am using mine this week instead. Right now it just the blocks and after coup at cat it comes out to .40 a pack. Starting thursday the shredded is on sale too so it will come out to .50 a pack. More money but I hate shredding cheese my self lol. There is also a coupon for 1.00/5 Michealina dinners and they are on sale for 10/10 so after coupon .80 cent. The lean ones are pretty good and cheaper than lean cuisine.

Oh, I wonder if they'll put them out at GE again too? Or are the SNS ones the ones to get because they double and the GE ones dont?? And are they only for the 2% cheese?
thanks for checking the prices on the HN hotdogs too - I started working out scenarios last night. 2 HN (if they're 5.xx shelf price) are the best deal so far, and then the 6 cans of manwich for 50 cents, and then 2 popcorn, 1 2L of coke, and 1 HN hot dog for 50 cents are the next couple I figured out.
While on the topic of cheese...I dragged out my food processor last night and shredded all the block cheese I bought. Much easier than hand grating as I need it by hand. Then I stuck it in freezer bags - 3 handfulls (@8oz) each and threw it in the freezer. Totally made it worth it to dirty up the food processor LOL

FYI - I know, a little OT, but I wanted to update everyone...
I emailed Valassis to let them know I didn't like that the inserts were out of the paper and that they would notice their sales drop b/c I would start buying from the companies that advertise with SmartSource and RP's advertisers would feel the pinch. Haven't heard back... BUT I emailed Quaker and told them what RedPlum did and that I'd be forced to start buying Cascadian Farms granola bars instead of Quaker, since CF advertises with SS, and that they should pressure RP to go back to newspaper distribution. They emailed me right back, saying they would forward my email to marketing AND they're sending me a coupon. :BigHand:
It's great to know I'm being heard and taken seriously! So I might start contacting the other RP advertisers and let them know how their sales will probably start going down if RP doesn't go back to the paper. :whistle67:

I am so excited about this week's deals (especially since I found those pesky conagra q's). I should have no problem storing the canned goods, the popcorn and free 2 liters of soda (I am really low on diet dr pepper) the hot dogs won't take up much room but, those banquet chicken bags will (I need to check out my sister's freezer to see if I have any room left in there LOL).
I'm planning on making a run to the food bank tomorrow with the oatmeal and lipton sides and will check to see if they have freezer capabilities there - I would love to be able to give them some of the banquet chicken (with the cat and the q's, 3 bags will only be .50)

Wow. That Hunts canned tomatos should be a good deal if I'm doing the math correct...$1.25 shelf x8 = $10 ($8 sale price) - (4) .80/2 Q ($3.20 total) = $4.80 - $4 cat = .80 for 8 cans or 10 cents each!

OH my gosh - I went negative today on one of my transactions LOL oops! Luckily my favorite cashier was ringing me and I quickly added a OnCor to the order to cover the difference :-)
Turns out our HN hotdogs are 4.59 shelf price at my store...so I had to scramble and do other scenarios - and I only grabbed the coupons I needed since I was just testing the waters today. Here's some of the ones I did:
1 HN hotdog 3.50 (4.59 shelf)
4 Manwich 1.25 (1.79 shelf)
-75c off HN
-2$ (two 50c/2 mqs for the manwich)
5$ get 4$ oyno
Coke 2L 1.25
2 Popcorn 1.59 (3.18 shelf price)
1 HN hotdogs
1 Oncor traditonal (had to add because I went negative)
-1.50 (free pop when you buy 2 popcorn...I'm not sure if it automatically took 1.50 off, or if he punched it in wrong because I told him they were 1.25 this week...??)
-2$ (two popcorn IPs)
-60c (30c mq for oncor)
-1.50 HN mq
-4$ oyno
91 cents total, got 4$ oyno
I also did 2 transactions of fruit snacks. I had 2 of the 50c/1 Fruit Stickerz mqs that will be coming out Sunday - so I did 1 Fruit Stickerz and 4 gushers in each transaction. I wasnt sure if my son would like the Stickerz, so I wanted him to try them first. Luckily he likes them, so I'm ordering extras of those! Paid 4.90 for 5 boxes and 1 Oncor after using the 4$ oyno from the Conagra deal, got the 3.50 oyno cat, and then did the same with bread and marshmallows instead of the Oncor, rolled the cat, and paid 5.69 and got another 3.50 oyno.
Now when the 50c/1 mqs come in I can roll the cat into 5 boxes of Stickerz and pay 1.50 and get 3.50 oyno cat.

Other things I noticed -

Where's VegasGal - I'd love to know if the N.Huntington store has any 5.99?? My packs only have 7 hotdogs, are they smaller than yours F4L?

Popcorn goes by shelf price of 3.18 each. I bought 2 popcorn and 1 hotdogs and got the 4$ oyno. That's the one I went negative because he rang in my 4$ oyno catalina from a previous transaction 1st LOL So it was 1.59 popcorn, 1.59 popcorn, 3.50 hotdogs - 1$ popcorn IP - 1$ popcorn IP - 1.50 mq for hotdogs = 3.18 (- the 4$ oyno = oopsie! negative 82 cents lol)

PB (or anyone else who might know)- what numbers do I need to give catalina people if I'm wondering what triggered a cat? Is it the ones along the side - like on the 3.50 fruit snacks oyno there is 808124791 and then under that is 000908-0129-1602. Would I give them both? Coz DH brought home another stack of cats he found tonite and one of them is a 3$ oyn Health & Beauty care purchase compliments of p&G. I'm thinking of emailing them and asking what triggered it.

Some will ask you just for that first #, others will ask for both. The second number is probably the one they'll need - one of those series of #'s is the store number IIRC.
Can't wait to hear what they say.

Sorry if this keeps getting repeated, but sometimes I need to see things over and over or broken down. So I thought I would throw this out there...
Today I bought:
4 boxes of Orville Red. popcorn $12.72
the register took off $1.59 each (BOGO) - 6.36
I used 2 $1.00/2 coupons - 2.00
minus the $4 catalina that prints out - 4.00
Total price for 4 boxes of popcorn $ .36!!
Also:
5 boxes of fruit snacks $10.00
minus 2 $.50/2 coupons, doubled - 2.00
minus $3.50 catalina that prints out - 3.50
Total price for 5 boxes of fruit snacks $4.50 or .90 a box!!

Yeah, it depends on what order you give the coupons - if you give 2 popcorn first and then the free pop, the pop one will beep. If you give the pop first, it takes off 1.50 but the 2nd popcorn coupon will beep. It's because of the way it's coded :-)

If you looked before and did not find them...look again.
I found mine at a local chain grocery, the week before last.
Giant Eagle put them out today in my area.
I was at two different GE's today and my friend at another...all had them.
I wrote a note on my calendar for next year - MAKE SURE to go to the grocery the friday before Super Bowl - There were coupons everywhere.
The tearpad sheet of 10 couons w/Coke Zero & $1.00 Velvetta
The booklet w/ $5.00 in coupon one- the Coke Zero coupon
$1.00 off of Kraft Cheese and a Nabisco cracker
$1.00/3 Capri Sun.
Managers everywhere. Sample ladies everywhere... very festive and fun and very very apparent where the home office is located.
The Penn. women will be tickled to hear that here in Cleveland Browns country, you can get cupcakes and cookies in yellow and black, but not a cardinal one was seen.

edited to correct math
$7.50 - three .50/2 coupons=4.50 -$4.00 cat (right?)
I bought them today - one HN and 4 manwich
after two .50/2 and one .75HN = $5.00 and I got back 4

OH my gosh - I went negative today on one of my transactions LOL oops!
Luckily my favorite cashier was ringing me and I quickly added a OnCor to the order to cover the difference :-)
...The way I shop I have a ballpark dollar amount in my noggin before I checkout.
One time my negative was $6.xx- because the cashier was careless in scanning all of my items (this was back with the refrigerated Pillsbury brownies were B1G1F at Giant Eagle).
The cashier and head cashier attempted to fix the situation by taking coupons off and giving them back to me.
Nowadays, to prevent going negative I will purchase a book of postage stamps (most of the Giant Eagles I go to have them at the registers and not just at Customer Service).
I am a big user of postage stamps in my mail-in sweepstaking effort.
So, I can always use the postage stamps instead of grabbing gum or candy bar.

Did you just randomly buy different coupons for the Palmolive/Colgate cat deal? I went to the site but wasn't sure what to get seeing that we don't know what will be on sale.
Also, everyone is talking about these coupon books, have you seen any in Irwin or Greensburg lately? I've been snowed in for awhile, just got out last night and there were no coupons anywhere in Irwin. I would like to do the Manwich deal.

The Greensburg (well, Hempfield) store was wiped out of coupons when I went Thursday! There were 2 huge stacks of them on Monday night. I haven't been anywhere else because of the snow. My mom checked the Greensburg store and didn't see any displays, but I'm not sure she knew exactly what to look for.
As far as the C/P deal, I know that when they have a Colgate/Palmolive deal they usually put most of the items on sale - so I ordered the Pure+Clear 75 cent coupons, and the 35 cents Softsoap hand soap (since I can always use that on the 99 cent stuff if need be). I got a couple of the toothpaste and toothbrush ones too. I'm mainly interested in the hand soap because we go through so much of it in the summer - with the kids playing outside and getting dirty - and my husband coming home from work filthy :-)
I passed on the Irish Spring and body wash, since we dont use it and even on sale it's too pricey for me!
Nah...not a pro! PB is the pro! (PB - you amaze me lol) I just spend way to much time on the computer and enjoy figuring out deals way too much! I get bored easily, and rarely watch TV....so my relaxation and entertainment is sitting here searching and reading :-)

Hefty trays (those big styrofoam plates with different sections for different foods) were on sale 2/3$ - so after the 1$/2 coupon from one of the new coupon books, they were only 1$ each. Grabbed some for my DD's birthday party in May LOL The cups are 2/5$, so 2$ each after the coupon.
Yesterday's News litter - I love this stuff for my Guinea Pigs! Much better than wood chips, and it keeps them smell free for 2 weeks! I just change the top layer of shredded newspaper every couple of days and add new litter and newspaper. It's on sale for 4.99 - the 1.50 ip from the website (not sure if it's still there?) = 3.49
All in all I got 8 packs of hotdogs, 2 Garnier haircolor, 2 packs of plates, 2 packs of cups, 6 cans of hunts tomatoes, 10 cans of manwich, 5 boxes of fruit snacks, litter, 2 packs of wipes, 2 boxes of popcorn, and 1 2L of coke for 13.61! I saved between 80 and 92% on each transaction :-) Gotta go back sometime this week for more wipes and litter.

Why do none of the GE's carry the OR Natural popcorn any more?
I know I bought it there months and months ago, but I've been to 4 different stores and none have it.
That's the only kind I like!In the past I have purchased it at Giant Eagle.
+
There is a lot that goes on, behind the scenes, at a grocery store.
Like what is on the shelves and how much of the shelf a manufacturer takes up.
Slotting fees = A manufacturer pays the store for their space on the shelf.
Think of the shelves as 'prime real state.'
+
The manufacturer could be the one behind it not being on the shelves at Giant Eagle.
They could be promoting / emphasizing their other products.

weird things at GE tonight. Did 3 orders @ 11:30 pm - 1st (2 popcorn, 1 soda, 1 HN hotdogs), 2nd (8 hunt's tomatoes), 3rd order (6 manwich) - got the cats for all 3 orders.
Went out to the car, came back in tried 8 hunts tomatoes - no cat. Cashier wrote on slip so that I could get it in the morning because the cat machines rebooted @ midnight as my transaction was happening.
Next order - 6 manwich - no cat again but, then as we were trying to figure out why, it spit out a coupon and the cat (and the sco next to us spit out the coupon even though no one was there).
Tried 2 HN hotdogs - total $0 - no cat again. Thought because my total was $0 so a manager came up and gave me the $4 in cash.
Went back and grabbed hefty plates to go with my order - bought 2 HN hotdogs and the plates - total was $.57 - cat didn't print. I told her I wasn't going to do the rest of my orders (same as this one) and proceeded to return the items to the shelves and I heard her yell - it just printed LOL. For my next 3 transactions, I had to stand there and wait a few minutes for the cat to spit out.
Decided I was tired and went home.

If you shop at night with us owls, after the machines reboot, you always have to wait for the cat, I've had to wait as long as 5-6 minutes and guard the register. If someone starts scanning it will hold your cat hostage until they are done!!!:shrug7: The night girl in Alliance comes over and talks nice to the cat machine and rubs it until my cat comes out!!:giggle2:

This has happened numerous times to a friend of mine here in Stow. She swears they turn the Catalina machines off after midnight. The explanation below makes more sense.

i don't shop at that time now but when my DH was on nights, thats how i got to know one of the as.mangers at the austintown one...I went at 4am half an hour before he left for work.
Now when i go when DH gets off of work but in daylight lol he will sometimes j/k w/ me and ask me how many trips im goin to make today. lol
Its nice when employers know about coupons..then they act supernice to you because they know you spend three times as much as a normal person before coupons lol they don't want to lose you.

Tried 2 other stores yesterday for the Hickory Farms and they were only .50 cents off, not BOGO. Talked to the store manager in the Elyria store and he said it was because Amherst must've been overloaded with excess Hickory Farms. I explained to him that the signage did not indicate it was a clearance, but, a weekly special. He still wouldn't budge. Hope some of you get lucky at your GE locations for the beef sticks!

Doh! I just realized there were 50c/1 Hefty plates coupons in a recent insert! So the hefty plates or trays would only be 50 cents each after those coupons, instead of the 1$ I paid last night. Oh well...I'm probably going to run up later for more and use the insert coupons instead. I love having paper or plastic plates on hand, and I can't get over how cheap they are with the coupons!

Ok -
8 tomatoes will be $10+ shelf price - using $4 cat w/q's - .70 (since you have a .50/2)
3 deals 2 hot dogs at a time - $4 cat - $3 q's - free (if your hot dogs are over $5 shelf) (now, my cat didn't print when my total was zero but, I think it had something to do with me buying them at midnight)
6 manwich - $4 cat - $3 q's - .50
1 hot dog, 2 popcorn, 2 liter of soda - give free soda q first, $4 cat and $1.50 hot dog q and $1.20 popcorn q (my brains not working enough to give you an exact amount)

I posted a few weeks ago that I did not getting catalinas on two separate occasions. Both times it was in the evening probably around 10:00 and no cats printed. The green light was on but nothing was spitting out. I wonder if this is all related. I never have any problem in the day time.

Just letting you know that you can do multiples of the Congra shopping in one order and get multiple catalinas.
YEAH YEAH YEAH....now, I tell you...
Yesterday I bought two HN (that were $5.59 - watch this because some stores they are $4.59 shelf price. I was at two stores yesterday that were less than 10 miles apart with different prices) and 6 manwich in one order and got two catalinas back.
I told a friend:wavehi: who kept getting gutsier and gutsier and ultimately was doing orders of 6..7 in ONE trip and getting 6...7 cats at a time, as a result.

I asked her about that..... She said yes you can because they are store coupons (where it says compliments of Giant Eagle - rather than compliments of Kraft) so, yes you can.
Where that gets to be a problem, with us, is that the cashiers THINK they can't.
The cashiers know there is a rule about using multiple catalinas as payment. They don't know what the rule it is, so they make one up or do catalina voodoo - don't take more than one like one.
If you question it or try to explain the rule to them -
The cashier starts getting nervous. She has to ask the cashier next to her ...then they have to get the play book out and since there is no rule book, they call for a ruling with the know-it-all store employee of the day yada yada, and you are at the mercy of her opinion.
Yes, it will work - can you get them to try it or convince them that they can, is another thing.
My cats are in the car - so, I am not sure if it does or doesnt say one per order, as the poster previous mentioned - If it does, that kills that.
Personally, I am at the end of my congra coupons and on my third day of GE trips - I am starting to get bored of the whole thing and want it over with, I will be doing some multiples of atleast two orders in one order, today.

Let's hope my store is this way too. My store has always seemed friendly and has never blinked at all the coupons I use so I'm hopeful. Although, I have never bought this much at once at GE with or without the deals producing Cats. If it doesn't work out, I believe I have an alternative plan that will still be good just more anxiety ridden.:hectic1:
I just never thought it was possible to do get multiple cats doing the same deal multiple times in one transaction. I'm familiar with Walgreens' system and it does not allow this so assumed all catalina promotions worked the same. :wink7:

Today I did 1 hebrew national and 4 hunts tomatoes.
The shelf prices were $5.49 for the HN and $1.25 for the hunts.
So based on shelf price it would have been $10.49. Yet no cat printed.
I used 2 .40/1 for the hunts and 1 .75/1 for the HN and a $4 oyno cat- so my oop was 40c, but the coupons shouldn't have mattered. To my knowledge the cat machine was working, green light was on solid.
So I take it to CS and she tries to tell me that it was because I used coupons, well that is clearly not the case.
Does anyone have an idea why it didn't print?
I was hoping to do it again.

Liluke, the only thing besides the cat machine not working is some stores price on the Hot dogs are only 4.59.
Did they try to re-ring at the service desk?
I didn't have a problem with the hunts but I didn't buy it with the dogs, I bought with the popcorn.
Don't let them tell you it's because of coupons. They should know better.:rolleyes24:

Well the shelf price on the dogs was $5.49, so I don't think that's it.
I did have the CS ring it again, but instead of her just ringing the hot dogs and my 4 hunts, she rang my hot dogs and kept ringing the hunts until the sale price was greater than $10- then suspended the trans and my cat printed.
So I got the cat, yet it didn't really tell me if the deal would work as I purchased it. Perhaps I'll assume that the cat machine was not working, even though the green light was on, solid, not blinking or anything. Thanks for the input!

I haven't done the same transaction you did, but I have done a transaction of just 2 hotdogs and another of just 8 tomatoes, so your numbers should have worked. I had a rather crazy day. It started off trying to get the right amount of cats added with the raincheck on the HN. That didn't go well when I tried to explain everything and reason I should get those because they messed up and didn't fill my order as promised. I then got accused of fraud because I said I should receive a cat for each $10 I spend. :naughtywag: I question how it was fraud and she something about limits which no limits were ever mentioned or anything. They gave me $10 gc for my trouble which I didn't even remotely suggest.
Then I pick up the items they did set aside for me and check out with no problem. I did two deals of tomatoes in one transaction and both cats printed. I used those cats on the Manwich transaction which consisted of four deals and those printed no problem. The cashier, which really is customer service was great.
I went straight out to my van and then figured out my next order of business. :BigHand: Different cashier, excited about my savings and used several $4 cats got cats back except I did two Stickerz in one transaction and only one cat printed. I went to the service desk. My first cashier was there and did the refund and rebuy no problem, but said she got "in trouble" for giving me more than one cat and using more than one. So I had her clarify if I should have done multiple transactions and she said no the Asst. Manager said I should only get one cat per day.
I decided to finish my shopping another 30 miles north because I called earlier and they still had the HN. So I go there and get my HN, plus shelf price was higher, :BigHand:, also picked up some of the other things. Did two transactions, cashier accepted and delivered cats without so much as blinking. Put things in the van then go back in to get a few other things on sale and not on sale. Go to pay with three cats and the cashier says it is one per customer, but then took all three. I said, I would have done separate transactions if I would have know it would be a problem and that seemed to be okay with her. Hmmm Thought I was saving us both the extra trouble, but guess not.
So that was my experience and I'm trying not to envy those of you with multiple friendly stores. :wink7: I'm also trying to figure out how in the world am I going to fly under the radar next week with all the colgate palmolive products. :grouch2:
I totally apologize if I went about this all wrong. I don't know when to speak up and when to keep quiet. Maybe I should just stick to smaller amounts of the deals and just stock up little by little since GE seems to run the deals often. I guess I just feel an urgency to be prepared.

You know how scared i was that was goin to run into a problem with this week because i needed a total of 200cans of manwhich? lol i didn't even have to preorder..the two stores actually had cases staked high of it!
i had to shop for my SIL and my inlaws. tonight i had to pick up the rest of the cans..so i can have some myself lol they didn't bat an eye..
i did go to the howland one first because they have a rep of keeping a lot of stock for sales..i only took one trip in there..i used a free coupon and they had a problem about it being NED coupon. once i have to speak to a manager..i count myself done for the day lol
but when i went back into the truck my DH said he will drive me to the austintown one so i can use up all my coupons.
woohoo! i got all that i planned!!

Thanks for the help everyone! I stopped at the Sleepy Hollow GE last night and was able to get 12 pkgs of HN, 12 boxes of popcorn and 6 bottles of soda for a total of $6 :BigHand:
I love impressing the cashiers with my savings!

lifeskills13 200 cans?! LOL See this is what I'm talking about. I get a small fraction of what others get and I get the evil eye. LOL Thank you for sharing your experience is not always hunkydory; it helps. I'm still smiling at 200 cans of Manwich too. Things that amuse me...
Sounds like you have a fabulous hubby!
You said once you have to talk to the manager you consider yourself done for the day. Funny thing is in my gut I knew not to discuss those non-existent hotdogs and cats before I purchased my other items. What was I thinking...
