I know Christmas isn't about the gifts, but sometimes, you just hope your significant other nails it and gets you something you've really been hankering for. This year, I got house numbers for Christmas. You know, the numbers that get affixed to the side of the house so the FedEx guy can find your house to delivery all the cool gifts you bought for him!
(No, I'm not bitter - they were at least tasteful - he could have bought the peelie kinds that stick the the house so I am grateful for small mercies!)
So, for everyone who got house numbers (ok, I'm the only person on the entire planet who got them) or any other functional-type gift that left you going "Um, gee, thanks" then we have a contest to ensure that FIVE lucky Hotcouponworlders will get something a little more to their liking for Valentine's Day.
This is going to run just like our Christmas giveaway, but with one caveat - the gift really needs to be something for you. We know you all scrimp, save, and devise ways to make sure that those in your family are taken care of. So this is the contest for the members who are always thinking of their families first and go with holes in the nightgowns or are carrying a purse with a broken strap. We really want YOU to be our Valentine.
And, we're going to spread the love so instead of one person with a grand prize, we'll break the prize money into five $50 gifts.
So, go to the "SHOP" tab on the menu, search for the gift(s) you would like for Valentine's day and link the page with the gift(s) you'd like back here so we can see what you're hankering for. You should post the page that looks like this page HERE (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=39061122/st=pop/sv=title)to be entered in correctly.
And if you've got a funny story or some reason why we really must pick you to be our Valentine, then post it!
Fine print details of the contest....
You must have your Valentine's Day gift posted no later than 2/13 at 12 midnight Pacific Standard Time.
You've got a $50 budget for your gift (but if you go over +/- a few bucks, no big deal - we'll still consider it if something you want is $52.99 kind of thing.
You can only enter once.
You can tell your friends and have them join and enter too - this contest is for newbies and oldtimers alike.
We will pick and post the winners and get the gifts bought and shipped right away, so you'll know on Valentine's Day that they're coming - you just won't have them on Valentine's Day proper.
So, have lots of fun with this, and thanks for being such great Hotcouponworld members. We hope everyone has a fun, romantic, and enjoyable night!
FORGOT TO ADD: Shipping is on US and not part of the $50!

Would love a new watch! I seem to always looking for the time.
Ok this is a sort of funny story. My husband and I have been married going on our tenth year. We have always loved bargain ( I more than him) so we used to go to rummage sales, auctions, and things like that when we first started out. (We have five kids now so those kinds of "dates" are on the back burner.) Anyway, we were shopping around a rummage sale and my husband spotted something he liked and he was holding it up to show me. Another lady said...."Your SON really knows a bargain when he sees one!" Can you believe it....MY SON! OMG I just nodded and said "Oh yeah he takes after me." :hysterical: I am older than him by only 6 months. But on the lady's defense my husband does look young.....but geez I hope I don't look that old ( I am only 31! geez). Alright that is my funny story.
Thanks for another great contest!

Thanks you so much for the opportunity to win!! I picked the following because Vera Bradley is my absolute favorite purse designer and even though she is not as expensive as some of the other manufacturers she is expensive so I usually only get a Vera on special occasions from my husband. Like our anniversary or my birthday.
Thanks again:)

This is a great contest!
I chose a simple picture frame. We have lived in our house for two years and have two girls who are 16 months apart and have seven pictures total hanging. Every time I go look for picture frames I always walk away empty handed feeling like the companies are cheating people.

Thank you so much for having this contest in the first place. It say's alot about you all. This is what I'm praying for....... Nike Women's Imara Run Multi-function Watch (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=17370173/st=product/sv=title) and the reason why is because on Feb. 14th I will be 44yrs. old if God allows me to see it. :BigHand:
And I would like to look down at this watch and say now is the "TIME" for me to start taking care of me. Out of all the coupon cutting, and making sure my family is taking care of, I've forgotten to take care of me. My greatest dream in this world is to be an even better mother and wife.
I want to thank the Academy.......Just a little joke... :) It just felt good to say those words, even if I never get an Oscar.....lol:hysterical:!
I've felt that I've won better than an Oscar for being able to find HCW. I've been blessed by so many of you on here, and that alone is very rewarding in itself. So in conclusion, even if I don't win, I will be happy for those who do.....Love you all, and God bless us all. :giggle2:

I would LOVE a new handbag to go out with. This month we went to a Holiday party (first "adult outing" I have done out in 3.5 years, since my oldest) and I was so embarrassed because I have no small nice handbags. I had to bring my HUGE Mama bag with me. I am hoping now that my youngest is going to be 2 next month and that we have now found a WONDERFUL babysitter we will go out more. Here's to hoping. :wink7:

Thank you so much for this. With my husband recently having a stroke, and losing his income living on our stockpile and my salary, and hoping that the Goverment doesn't take forever on the disability claim.
Christmas was all about the kids. So we didn't buy anything except necessities (underwear, clothes, etc). I would love a new watch.

What fun to see what gifts everyone picks out!! We all have such different but great perspectives. It truly is a joy to "meet" on here with like minded people! After seeing what all of our friends got for Christmas, we are the only ones in our "circle" that don't have a WII!!! Oh well, one day when we are debt free (goodbye Sally Mae!!) we can each have a WII if we want! :giggle2:Right???? I haven't had a new purse in ages! The last 3 three I got were 3!
Here is the gift I would love:

I've spent the better part of the last 7 years carrying around huge bags to accomodate diapers, bottles, sippy cups, snacks and everything that anyone might need. February 13th is my anniversary and will be the first one that DH and I have spent apart, so I would LOVE to have this because it's small and no diapers can be fit into it and I could finally say that I owned something from Coach, just for the fun of it. :giggle2:

Like most of us I rarely buy anything for myself. Mostly because bills have to come first and I usually have not had much money left over. Now you throw into the mix that I am now unemployed. That too I know is not a rarity in the economy we are finding ourselves in.
Believe it or not I almost picked a new toilet seat cover for this contest, but I have decided to go for a want vs something practical. I have wanted an MP3 player for quite some time.......so here is what I would wish for:

Wow! Another great contest! It was hard to think of something just for me. I think I found the perfect thing.
Currently I can't print coupons from my laptop because I have Vista and my printer doesn't work with it. I would LOVE a wireless printer. So I can print from down stares when DD is playing. Instead of bring her up stares with me. She gets into everything and turns off the desktop computer. I take me forever to print just a few. I would love to print them when I find them and pick them up later.

I got a crockpot for Christmas actually I got TWO one from DH one from Sister just b/c I mentioned I might like to have one with a timer. That was it.
DH ussually atleast fills my stocking but nada this year. But I actually love my new crockpot!! Its my fave way to cook and my old one was very small.
The year before we got married he bought me a $10 set of bowls and lids from dollar general and that was it. They were the most generic set of plastic ware ever. Had they atleast been decent quality ok.
But its not about the gifts so I tried to let it go. But my sister just kept on and on and on about how if her husband got her that it would be on like donkey kong and my whole family was making fun of me, and him which probably made me more mad then them making fun of me. By the end of the day I was in tears.
Last year he did surprise me by buying something from the jewelry store. BUT it was a bracelet and I do not and can not wear breacelets I have 4 really nice diamond and gold bracelets that were very expensive. I do not wear them because I can not get them clasped with my hands in the shape they are in most days. So he geos out and buys me a UGLY bracelet that I cant clasp. But I was actually thrilled because atleast he bought me something. One year he bought me nothing.
Ive learned to expect nothing and be thrilled with anything!
This is the cheapest item I could find that is similar to what I am pining for sorry that it is 9.99 over but its a lot cheaper than the other brands. I am trying to lose weight and slowly succeding so Id love to have this to help me

OK so I looked and looked and looked....
My mouse led me thru jewelry, vacuum cleaners, clothes, shoes...and even the baby section.
I had a little chat with my mouse..said "We are shopping for ME today...NOT the kids!!!" and I think I shocked my computer so bad, she froze up right there!
So after I slapped it around a little, banged my mouse a few times....I happened upon the photo album section...
Do I want pictures of my kids? My husband? My family? HECK NO!!! I want albums for my coupons!!! Something I can't splurge for and my ziplock bag full of envelopes is no longer working for me...I NEED a new system
So this is what I found...(I can even stretch the $ of others of things I want) :giggle2:
2 binders (one for food, one for HBA and other stuff):BigHand:
Indoor Living - 504 Pocket 3-Ring Binder Photo Album (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=88410146/search=photo%20album/st=product/sv=title)
10.35 x 2 = 20.70
and extra pages that I can fill to the brim :hysterical:
Indoor Living - Refill Pages For 3-Ring STC Photo Album (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=89282571/search=photo%20album/st=product/sv=title)
2.79 x 10 = 27.90
27.90 + 20.70 = 48.60 and I am still "under budget" :BigHand::hysterical:
And THAT is how I would choose a Valentine's day gift for myself!

Stacy--you're not alone in wanting kitchen items. In all truthfulness, my DH is actually pretty good in the gift department.
However, that being said--and while my husband is a great cook too, he is lousy at not scratching the pans. Let me put it this way--my husband does not believe in plastic or silicone utensils! And he has scratched every pan we own by using his stainless steel utensils--which I swear I'm going to hide. I was cleaning in our basement and found a new frying pan. I have no idea how long it's been down there--it was probably meant to be returned as it didn't come with a handle (Yes--true--no handle in the box) But I decided it could be usable even without the handle and have used it successfully many times. Then, one day last week I caught my husband stirring whatever was in the pot with stainless steel tongs! I was really nice about asking him to use plastic utensils and the reason why he was to use only plastic utensils. But wouldn't you know it--I was already too late. After washing the pan--I found 3 scratches on it. So, this is what I would like.
It's only .20 cents over budget.

This is the first time I've posted on HCW, but I've been lurking and think I've read just about every thread there is! I've learned SO much. This is such an awesome giveaway. Like many others on here, I love Vera Bradley purses. My DH has bought me a few things for gifts, all in the Pink Elephant design, and I would love to have this purse to add to my (small) collection. They retired this pattern last summer and it's getting harder to find now.

WOW!! What a great contest. I did not get anything for Christmas not 1 single present. I simply could not afford it, I got my kids everything they wanted and have never gotten a present for Valentine's day. I was married for 10 years and my now ex-husband said "We don't need a day to say I love you, it's just another reason to spend money" I am happy to have even a chance to get something, I bark about every penny every minute of every day. Sometimes I have to give my food off my plate to make sure they don't go hungry. I haven't gotten new clothes in at least 2 years, I don't own a watch, I have to use my cell phone to tell the time.
This watch is beautiful!!!!!!! Thanks for the chance..

I really love the watch I picked out but I REALLY do need this cookware set. I have only 1 pan to cook in and it is hard to make big meals. My family needs me to get this cookware set so I can better take care of them. Most of my cooking items got taken when my house was foreclosed on 2 years ago due to my ex-husband. So please if you could find it in your heart, my family and I would appreciate it. Thank you

DH picked up a couple of boxes of random chocolate for a school fund raiser from a dude at work. He wrapped those up and that was my present. Actually, presents. DD moved them around under the tree the night before christmas and I went to put them back and heard the one crinkle like chocolate and got all mushy thinking he had got me Russel Stover (the BEST chocolate in the world). I figured the other one was a CD, probably Taylor Swift since I had been saying how much I wanted her new cd. Nope. Both fund raiser chocolate.
So, with you guys giving me a chance at what I REALLY wanted, here's my link to a Sandisk clip (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=53221284/st=product/sv=title)
(I editted to a sandisk from an ipod cause after researching them I don't like that the ipod shuffle doesn't have a menu. Also, this is currently at 48.24 with free shippig at buy.com. I noticed when I took the ipod off, that was $53 when I first had it, that it was currently up to 66. So, pish on that heh)

Dh always goes way out and grand on gifts, which I LOVE -- he's a one-of-a-kind man and I'm so blessed!
One thing I'd have to say, however, is that I think he's probably even worse than my dad in the cologne/lingerie/private things department. So I never ask for any good smelly stuff.

I'm always looking for something pratical and this handbag would get me out of my black hole of a handbag. I can never find what I'm looking for in it! :giggle2:
I've got a funny story about how my DH and I met. We met on a message board. He is from NC, I was SC. I drove up to meet him for the first time and one of my friends was going crazy that I was doing this. She was telling me "Terri! No! He's probably some crazy loon and he is going to kill you and put your body in a huge hole and we will never know where you are! Leave your phone on so we can contact Verizon and see where the signal is coming from in case you don't make it home!"
Mind you, I had been chatting with him for a few months (on the message board) and I knew people personally that had met him several times in person, hung out with him, etc. I wasn't scared something was going to happen.
I arrive at his house and he goes to show me the dugeon. Basically a huge whole he was in the process of digging up for a extension onto his house. :hysterical:I just about died laughing when he shows me this much to his concern. He had no clue why I was laughing and I had to tell him right then. We still laugh about this to this day and so does the friend who was overly concerned.

This is an awesome contest. Everyone is probably going to think I'm ungrateful, but my grandmother gives me vitamins for Christmas EVERY YEAR. I mean the big horsepill kind that get stuck in your throat and make you burp fish oil for an hour or so. These are my house numbers, I guess!
This is what I would really love as a splurgey kind of item. I straighten my hair a lot and I find that it looks a lot better on the second day, except for the beginnings of an oily scalp. I have seen a lot of dry shampoos out there and they all cost much more money than I want to spend on them!

Ok here goes...This is my FIRST time doing anything like this. I have been on HCW for less than 6months now and I am still trying to figure this out. I love saving money and have a very hard time spending money on ME ! In case you want to know a little about me...here goes...I am a nurse and I LOVE my job ( taking care of people). I do have a hard time taking care of me however, I put myself on the back burner. I have achilles tendonitis and it makes my feet hurt soooo bad ! But being a nurse I HAVE to be on my feet ALL day ! Anyway, I dont want this to sound like a pitty party or anything like that. I just had to justify why I would make a WISH for something for ME and not for someone else...ha ha...
Thanks for the chance to hopefully win !

What a great contest! We did not do Christmas gifts this year due to the economy. I got new brakes on my car instead. What I really want may seem like a practical item but it would be a luxury for me because I can't afford it right now. I have neck and back problems. I've been sleeping half propped up in a recliner with a travel pillow lately because it seems to put less strain on my neck than laying flat in bed with a regular pillow. I would love to have a new bed pillow made of memory foam for neck and back support. I know it doesn't sound romantic, but it would truly be a great Valentines gift because I would be able to sleep in the same bed with my DH again. :wink7:

Thanks HCW for such a wonderful contest. I am almost embarassed that what I am currently considering as a luxury for myself is new underwear. I always put off buying new bras and underwear for myself until my supply has dwindled down to the point that I am desperate. To me, bra shopping is absolute TORTURE, and the one bra that I do really love I can not find in stock anywhere. I would also love some panties that don't necessarily come in a multi-pack from the local mega-mart since I throw them out so quickly because they easily become tattered. I would request five pair of underwear. Jockey Clothing - Comfies Microfiber Hipster Panty (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=60255902/st=product/sv=title). :party47:OK - Here's my wish. It's a shoulder travel bag. I would really, really, really love one of these. I've looked at it via the shop link about a million times, have put it in my cart, have even gone so far as to enter my payment info., but have never actually purchased it because like many others, it's just so hard to spend hard earned $ on a non-essential item for myself.
I've been saving, couponing, rebating, begging on the corner ~ ok I haven't actually done the begging thing ~ but you get the idea. Anyway, I've been doing all of this to save for a summer vacation. Our vacation is now planned & I would just love to have this bag travel along with me.

Hmmmm, I have thought long and hard and even though I very rarely spend money on myself, and yes I have holes in my undies:giggle2:, I would much rather have a gift that would help others.
My hubby and I have been donating to our local Senior Citizen's Center for about 6-7 months now, and it is AWESOME!!!!! These are seniors that get lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.We have "adopted" a gentlemen whose name is Ron. He lives alone, is 82 years old and is mentally challenged to a degree. After he pays his rent, he has $13 left for the month for all his food/clothing needs. Yes $13!!!!!!!
So we have been buying him groceries when we are able to. We were also very blessed around Christmas time that we could buy him a well needed coat!!
We have never personally met with him as he does not get around well, and when he does make it to then Senior Citizen Center, that is the day we can't make it in:sad: Come to find out, he has cancer and is not expected to make it through this year! I would love to be able to take Ron out to eat and be able to share my family's love with him and let him know that he is a constant thought in our minds!!
It is just not feasible at this time for us to do this as there would be 6 of us attending the meal. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to be able to enjoy this time with him before God decides to take him home.
So I said all of that, to say that I would be ever so grateful for a gift card to a local restuarant!!!!
You guys ROCK and what an awesome contest!!

I feel your house number pain. LOL Last year for my 27th birthday my mother bought me headlights for my car. One was kind of dim, and I was planning on maybe getting some eventually. However, it wasn't what I wanted for my birthday. Oh, but wait, it gets better. Both my husband and I have a birthday in March. Mine falls at the beginning and his at the end. The two headlights that I got for MY car from MY mom and step-dad turned out to be a double gift in one. Yes, that's right. I got ONE headlight and my husband got ONE. The pair together was BOTH of our birthday presents combined!!!! Does that one up you any? LMAO
I'd love a me me me gift of my own choosing this Valentine's Day. Something I really need and want is a new pair of boots, as I wore my last pair until the heel broke off and they had to be thrown away. That was a year or two ago, and I still haven't spent the money to buy myself a new pair. It seems kids are bloody expensive, and they eat up cash like it's going out of style! hehe :P

I sat here and searched for almost 2 hours, practical vs frilly....Ugh what a dilemna!! lol.....but, I finally found the item I would love to have!!! After a stressful day at work, (I'm a 911 dispatcher) I love to sit outside and hear the country sounds, birds, crickets, my 4 kittys meowing, 2 doggies barking, humming birds and woodpeckers.......so of course the item I picked will bring more critters around, plus make a beautiful addition to a crazy, overrun landscape!!! Thank you for the chance.......Ya'll are just GREAT!!!

I don't know how to "link" the page correctly, so I just copied and pasted the URL. I hope I can be forgiven.
I have been promising my son that I would grow blueberries for him. I divorced when he was 12, his sister 9 and his younger brother 6 and we rented a house for the next 7 years. Finally, a few years ago I bought my own home and he is now off to college. I would absolutely love to be able to plant these blueberry bushes and come through on my promise made to him so long ago. I dream about future grandchildren coming to my home and picking blueberries in the summertime :) Thank you for considering my request and to your generosity to all of us.
BTW, I absolutely love this website and have told everyone at work (who will listen) about it. I have even taken a "baby couponer" under my wing and am showing her how to work the deals.

Last year my sister and I walked 29 miles in the AvonWalk in Houston (first time here!!) in memory of our grandmother who died of breast cancer, our sister-n-law's Mom who also passed from breast cancer in Nov of last year, and in honor of our aunt who has survived.
It was the most difficult thing I have ever done... and I've run a marathon and climbed to the top of a 14,000 ft. mountain, among other things.
But by far it was the most rewarding. I have never cried nor laughed as hard that weekend. It was extremely emotional, moving and life changing. I met some of the bravest people EVER... those that are survivors.
After 29.3 miles and a few blisters later we decided that we would walk again. The walk this year is in April and alas, I have no shoes to walk. Regardless, though, I will walk. I will figure out a way to walk that distance with all the pain and tears because it may help someone discover a cure. It's an honor and a privilege.

I have been looking through everyones wishes, and trying to shop for something for me and it is amazing at how hard it is. I am not a girly girl, so I don't really do the multiple purse thing or the jewelry/watch thing. What I would really like is a massage! Just that time to relax and not have to chase kids.

OK--one of my most favorite things to do is totally clean out my panty drawer and refill with brand new undies!! I keep meaning to shop for me... but with two little ones with me ALL the time it just is never a priority.
So my wish is for 3 packs of the following...that would mean 15 pairs of new panties!
new undies please!!! (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=705034185/st=product/sv=title)
The story that goes with this request is compliments of my 2 (almost 3) year old. He is mostly toilet trained and can be rough on underwear so I often have to replace his boxer briefs. My DH has taught him that when he gets a hole in his underwear that he has "blown 'em out" (charming I know...)
So one day as I attempted to get dressed my DS yells "Mommy...go throw those underwear in the trash you've blown 'em out...!" Now just to explain --the elastic band had separated a bit....so I told him that they were OK for a while until I got some new ones. My DS then proceeded to tell me that "You better not let Daddy see you in those--he might see your hiney and you know no one wants to see YOUR hiney...especially Daddy!!"
So I guess it is time for new undies :dealwithit:

I am getting used to my husbands forgetfulness concerning my birthday..... SO this year I told him the day before.... I told him... our 16 yo son told him as well.... when my husband arrived home from work.... I sat in anticipation at the computer (on HCW of course!) waiting... nothing... nothing... after a long time... finally he approaches me.... "What's for dinner?"... i say nothing (shock, I assume)... he proceeds to kitchen, slow tears begin... I hear our son telling him "Your wife is crying." "No she is not." "Yes she is, go see." Dear hubby walks in and says, "What? Did you want to go out to dinner for some reason?" Grrr. Son says, "Geez Dad, YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOO DUMB!"... at which point I had to laugh. Hubby gives dumb look, goes to watch tv, I bring out birthday cake, toss it GENTLY in his direction and tell him.... "something not so nice... editing for my embarrassment"... and go out with son. When we return home cake is untouched, hubby states he was afraid it had been poisoned after what I said.
I am choosing something I would have loved to have gotten for my birthday.... better late then never.... if I should win it can serve double duty just in case the hubby forgets our anniversary Feb 10, surely he will NOT forget Valentines Day... but I am not taking bets either! (despite this I would not trade him!)
I keep giving my Bibles away.... never had a really expensive one.... but have always wanted one of these Bibles... notice I am requesting large print.... HA!HA! Reality!

I don't care for the gift giving part of Christmas that much, well, I love to give gifts, but I don't like getting them. I know, I'm wierd. It drives my wife crazy. If I do get gifts, I usually return them and use the money for gas, groceries, bills, etc...or, they sit taking up space still in the boxes or with the tags left on them until I trash them or donate them.
Anyway, I'm a huge U2 fan to say the least. I can't wait until their new CD comes out March 3rd. Anyway, it won't be out yet, but it's what I REALLY want, and you can already pre-order it. And, this is one gift I'd shake my booty for. So.....

Thank you for the awesome giveaway as always ..it is such a pleasure to be part of an awesome website. Hubby & I do not exchange gifts at Christmas we may get something for the house, but that is very rarely as well. Whatever we buy is always for the kids. As for Valentine's Day my hubby was very romantic back in the day, lol ..since kids, buying a home & the economy he tries but anymore it's just another day for us. I've needed a new bag for along time, can't even tell you the last time I bought one for myself. I normally use the diaper bag and throw everything into it. So I could really use these ....

What an awesome contest! This is something I would never buy for myself. Every year my mom would purchase me a new, expensive handbag for Christmas. Since she passed, my DH has tried to keep up with the tradition. Well, as far as buying me a handbag. He normally let's my youngest DD pick it out. This year it was an adorable tote, with tinker bell on it. I use it everyday with pride, however it doesn't quite match the semi-professional attire I wear to work. I still love it and the sentiment that goes with it, but it would be nice to have a new bag that FEELS expensive.

So, last year my husband and I were just getting use to having an infant in the house. I was not getting out of the house much on my own yet with our son, so I ended up painting a frame I had in my craft drawer and puting a collage of our son in it for my husband. Not really romantic, but it actually turned out kind of nice. It is so true, that everything is different when you have kids :wink7:....honestly I don't remember what he did for me, maybe flowers. (life was a big sleepless blur last year) :whistle67:

My DH and I are making a concerted effort to get in shape in 2009 - we just had our last baby in April (and both gained quite a bit!), so it is time to exercise. Only one little problem, neither one of us have good shoes or much workout clothing. I chose a pair of shoes, as this is the biggest expense and greatest immediate need. Today we did a 5 mile walk and my feet were killing me in my old pair. I am a size 9.5

I don't know if I am doing this right, which is why I didn't enter the Christmas one. I am somewhat computer disfunctional.
I got just from the kids this year little things that they made or wrote for me. Which of course made me cry. DH had been out of work since July and just got a job the week before Christmas so our sole focus was providing for them. With a BIG thanks from our friends here at HCW.

Here is what I would like. It is a back pack. I am finishing college and need a new one. The handles fell off my old one (literally -- books and papers everywhere -- what a mess. At least it was at home and not in the hallways)
W/ the cost of my tuition I find it really hard to splurge on a new bag and am using one of the kiddos (which is too small) -- The lime green color so I don't loose it
I would also love a pair of snowpants so I don't freeze while sledding with the kids.
Any kind would be fine in a womans M. (white or black)
I have been feeling so guilty about the cost of tuition and books for school (3 grand for the tuition + $250 in books and we are looking at another 3 grand for summer school and 4 for student teaching in the fall) that I told my family members not to give me anything for Christmas... and hubby and I never xchange gifts for Valentines day (we tell each other we love them every day and feel it really is a Hallmark holiday)

Bearpaw Women's T410 12" Boot (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=75874070/st=product/sv=title)
After this winter I really need good winter boots in size 9 that will last me several years. We have had so much snow, and everyday I trudge to work in tennis shoes that are old and worn out, because I really don't want to spend money on myself. I like useful things as gifts and my husband always would rather get me jewelry or chocolate, even though I would rather have something more useful.
I used to hate celebrating Valentine's day. I always celebrated singles awarness day on Feb. 14 rather than Valentine's day until I met my husband. He proposed to me on Valentine's day 4 years ago so to him it's special to me it's always been overrated although I play along that I enjoy it.
Thanks so much for offering this great contest, and for making HCW such a great community.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you so much for HCW!!! I tell everyone about this site. I love it. This past week alone I got $60 in rebate checks. How fun is the mail when that happens.
I would love a bookshelf for our living room. I am so trying to decorate with what I have and not spend any money out of pocket. We are adopting a little girl from China and are saving every penny we have for that. She is going to have a cleft pallette or lip, and so what we don't spend to get her here, we will spend on Dr.'s bills. The insurance will cover her, but only at 80% so we have some medical bills. I homeschool and I desperately need more bookshelves. My life would be so much better with another shelf to put books on.
Here is my choice:

I've been told I will need to do a bland easy diet so this would come in handy for it Food Processor (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=97458179/search=food%20processor/st=product/sv=title) & then I would need these to go along with that diet Light Denim 16W Jeans (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=63465777/st=product/sv=image) or this would help me out. Since there is something in the store I have wanted but won't spend real hard cash for it Walgreens Giftcard (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=65857538/search=gift%20card/st=product/sv=title) or this will work so I can work my magic deals better and stop using ziploc baggies for my coupon storage Coupon Organizer (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=703965344/search=coupon%20organizer/st=product/sv=title).
Why should you pick me? Well If I win and get the coupon organizer then I would be able to work more deals for free stuff since I wont spend 10 minutes searching ziploc baggies for the right coupon I want/need. Then I could work more deals and take a few people under my wing and help them get free stuff. I've already had a person at the homeless shelter in town ask me to help them get stuff for the shelter.

My coupon organization is the pits. Not enough room in my little organizer, can barely close it, not enough pockets or tabs for descriptions, etc. so I can never find what I'm looking for. I don't know how to post the link, but I'd really like the Deluxe coupon organizer for $39.95. (For some reason, its listed under vacuums).
I'm not sure this is a funny story (it sure wasn't funny at the time!), but years ago when we were farming and had absolutely zilch after completing the foreign adoptions for our two kids, my husband presented me with a new pitchfork for the barn, which we really needed. It was my birthday and I was hoping for take out pizza and renting a movie after milking 120 head of Holsteins that night. Well, the sh*t about hit the fan with that new pitchfork! Sigh....and then I had to come in and fix dinner.
Thank you HCW for offering this terrific contest!

Cuisinart Appliances - CSB-77 Smart Stick Hand Blender with Whisk and Chopper Attachment (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=6428785)
I had something similar that I used often that I dropped on the floor about 2 months ago (and now doesn't work!!) and I can't justify getting another quite yet.
For Christmas I got myself a wind up flashlight with screwdriver attachments for DH to give to me (since he always tells me a need a flashlight for my car and I got it on sale last year for $10, I figured it would be a pretty good gift). He had a gift card to spend at Bass Pro this weekend and, included in what he bought was a small maglite for my car... Ok... I had a VERY hard time with this, every time I went to look for something, I ended up finding things for my kids, husband and household!
It took a lot of thinking to figure out what I wanted/needed for myself.
Then, I remembered just how cold my feet were during the two snowstorms we had here recently.
The first one, my feet got soaking wet in my tennis shoes. The second time, I got smart, and put my feet in plastic grocery bags after my socks and in my shoes. That kept my feet dry, but not warm.
So, what I'd want for myself, is a pair of winter boots (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=61824516/st=product/sv=title), and a pair of warm boots (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=91734417/st=product/sv=title) to keep my feet warm inside the house, as they're always cold...
Thank you for yet another contest!!
BTW... I don't need house numbers just yet...but I could use the house!!!!! LOL

What a wonderful contest!
My first idea was an external hard drive. My poor computer is so slow and it makes it hard for me to stay current with my favorite sites (like this one). Unfortunately for me, those are in the price range.
So option two is something to help with the organization/decorating of my house. We've been in our house over a year and it's still not home. We moved from PA to GA in Dec. 2006 and being away from family, I want a home that feel settled in. It's not there yet but this will help.
Furniture - 50" Black Wroght Iron 3 Tier Baker's Rack (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=91935579/search=$50/st=product/sv=title)
This will get at least our eat in kitchen done and decorated!

what a great contest. It is so hard to even pick something out for yourself, lol. I think since I am striving to continue my $800 annual budget and am really getting into edible landscaping, a plant would be great.
I found these great kiwi plants (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=96891038/st=product/sv=title) that would make an awesome addition to our little orchard.
thanks!

What an awesome contest.
My dh has been working a job since September that has brought in very little money(think under $700 SINCE Sept) so we have been living on my salary and our savings so no frivilous spending here. I would have loved to get the house numbers seeing as our house still doesn't have them. We did not do Christmas gifts for each other this year to save money and luckily I still had 90% off toys from the great TRU sale about 3-4 years ago, so that took care of my kiddos.
Anyway, enough of the sob story. We do not have an actual DVD player. We have used the PS2 all these years, but unfortunately most RedBox dvds we rent (with the free codes of course) are so scratched up the PS2 can't read them, so they go unwatched and returned. Seeing as we also never go to the movies because it is too pricy and we have two little ones under 5, I never get to see the new movies out. With the rare rebates for movie cash, we use those to take our oldest to see the kids movies as a treat.
So anyway, I would love a working DVD player so I can get back into watching all my chick flicks that I never get to see. We have all Sony equipment, so I would love this one Sony Electronics - DVP-NS57P/S DVD Player - DVPNS57PS (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=33724821/st=product/sv=title)

(Think I did that right!)
My first valentine's with my husband, we were on a honeymoon of sorts. My aunt had given us her timeshare as a wedding gift. It was a BEAUTIFUL penthouse apartment in Virginia Beach. Gorgeous views, 2 king beds, 2 sunken tubs, etc etc.
What did we do for Valentine's Day? Well, having our first break ever from our 5-month-old daughter....we slept! We did a few things that week, but most of all we had delicious, uninterrupted sleep!

Thanks for another great contest! Don't have any Valentine's stories to share - actually I'm sure I've gotten some crappy gifts, but I guess maybe I choose to block those out???? We just built a house and I'm exciting to do some landscaping and get some fruit trees in the spring so this (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=700375617/st=product/sv=title) would be great for me. This is a fantastic contest! I have gone for years without having any nice perfume for myself. My dh has his Aqua D Gio and I use BBW body sprays! I had some of this perfume when my son got married 3 yrs ago, and I loved it. Unfortunately, I forgot my makeup bag where he was living at the time, and when he FedExed it to me, the bottle had broken. So I would love to have more, so I can smell as sexy as my hubby! LOL

Every Christmas hubby asks what I want and I just go, "um..." I really always have a hard time deciding what I want. Well, mostly. I love books and scrapbooking and so I buy my favorite authors. And he likes to spend money and I just have a hard time deciding because there's always the thought of what if the kids have a blow out on their shoes, or they need more pants (cuz you know boys don't ever quit growing), or what if we need it for the vehicles...anyway, here is what I would like.
With all the reading I do, and watching TV at night, there is always a glare coming from somewhere...we have alot of windows. Almost blinding trying to cook dinner in the summer.

Hi there. Still very new to the site but would love to enter this contest. I LOVE this wine but very seldom buy it because to save money, I usually pick up a really cheap bottle at the grocery store LOL. This brand however is my absolute favorite. It's only 11.99 but I would'nt mind if you sent me 4 bottles:hysterical:
At the end of a long day, I like to crack open a bottle of wine and watch some old Sex in the City and Will&Grace reruns! LOL

Outdoor Living - 30 Steel Outdoor Fire Pit (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=702033397/search=fire%20pit/st=product/sv=button)
I have been wanting a fire pit for a while now. One of my favorite getaway places is my parent's place at Fernandina Beach, FL. I love sitting out on their back deck. It isn't right on the beach so there is no ocean view, but it is such a relaxing place. I've always thought how even more relaxing it would be to have a fire pit when I'm out there having my quiet time. I'm so thankful I have a place to retreat to. There are many years we wouldn't have had a vacation if it wasn't for my parents letting us come and stay at their place.
Thanks again for always thinking of us members!

I have a three month old baby, whom I nurse. I am ashamed to admit that I have one maternity bra, and one other from my last pregnancy. My DH always says for me to make space in the budget for them, but I can never justify the cost, so I get along with the two I have. So if I could ask for something it would be a new nursing bra (blushes and hopes no one she knows reads this). So if the HCW Valentine Fairy could grant my wish it would be for these CLICK HERE (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=86185423/st=product/sv=title).

OK.... It's NOT! on the shop button above.....
But just before Christmas, I found out my husband was having an affair (again) and I asked himn to move out. I went away to family in another state for Christmas with the children and the day we returned, he called me all lovey dovey, promising that he was seeing no one, that she was a friend, etc etc. (those of you who have been there understand this part.)
I show up at his home that very night at about 2AM to discuss putting off the divorce, and his girlfriend answers the door in her bathrobe...'cause , you know, that is something we women take in our purse to our "friend's house when we are not sleeping together!!!!:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
SO, I may not have the funniest story.... But I laughed right in both thier faces and told her: "well, dear, you can have him, I am through!"

I dont spend much money on myself as well. Honestly I don't have a story because I don't get presents. I've been with my DH for 11 years and he always gets the Christmas, Valentines, Birthday presents. If we don't have the money my kids and I make him at least a card. Ok well maybe one time I got a flower about 6 years ago because I asked him to buy me one???:rolleyes24: Dont get me wrong my husband is the best in the world best husband and father. He just wasn't raised that way i guess lOL. LOL On July 1, 2008 My 9 year old daughter underwent a liver transplant. She was diagnos with actue liver failure and it was unknown as to why it failed. My friends from another website helped me out tremendously with hand sanatizers as well as other support. This would be really great for my DD's health being she is immuno supppressed its harder for her to fight off infections. WHich in terms turns around and would be the greatest gift for me!!! They have these at the hospital and If I can post one up by the front door and one in her room or the bathrooms ( We have to wash our hands everyday all day) IT would be blessing in disguised. ok, this is my first contest to enter here at HCW. I figured ....why NOT? My luck has been pretty bad the last few months...maybe this will change things around for me. We are rounding the final corner of building a new house and everything keeps going wrong. Since we are spending every dollar we have for the house, we didn't buy for one another for the first christmas in 14 years. My two year old started day care for the first time and I cry daily on my way to work. I have been living with my parents for almost a year and as a result have been put on anti-depressants! I know....horrible right? well, it was either that or hurt someone! just kidding...My birthday is the day after valentines day and I'll be yes.....29....my last "20 something" birthday. yeah me!
So...here is my pick...I love to cook healthy but I do not have a good cutting knife... I hope I posted it correctly...

First off I want to say thanks for holding this wonderful contest you gals are truly amazing with what you do for this community.
As for Valentine's day my husband is in the thinking that its only a HALLMARK holiday. (meaning hey spend my on me, plus a few other not nice words) I have only gotten gifts from him for V-day twice in our almost 10 year relationship. The first while it is lovely, pretty necklace but umm I don't wear jewelry. (this was the 3rd Vday with him he should have know by then) The next gift was in 2006 and that was Valerie. :hysterical: Yup I spent a miserable 4 days in the hospital during that.(well I guess I could say his gift was having his mom come and clean the house from top to bottom while I was at the hospital) As for why you should pick me its because while yes there are lots of things I want I won't ever buy them for myself because I think the money is better spent on getting the kids stuff they need or want. (and by kids I mean the girls and DH:giggle2:)
So after lots and I mean lots of looking this is what I want at this time:
SanDisk Electronics - Sansa Clip 2GB MP3 Player - Red - SDMX11R2048RA70 (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=53221285/st=product/sv=title)

What an awesome contest! Thanks so much for the opportunity.
I am sorry but I don't have any funny Valentine's day stories. I haven't really been able to celebrate it since I have been with hubby since I was 16 years old ( I am 23 now) and he was my only boyfriend. Well....he is a Jehovah's Witness and they don't celebrate holidays. Since I haven't had anyone to "be my Valentine" , my best friend, Amanda , and I would always exchange gifts every year. Amanda passed away this past June ( pulmonary embolism) and now I won't have a Valentine this year....unless my 6 month old son counts!?! ;o)
If picked as winner for this contest I would want something fun and something that I would never be able to pay too much for.....

I'd love a new skirt. Something pretty that feels good to wear...
(I chose a back-up since all this stuff is on clearance.)
Here's my 1st choice:
Newport News Smocked skirt - Compare Prices and Buy at PriceGrabber (http://clothing.pricegrabber.com/womens-skirts/Newport-News-Smocked-skirt/m63912785.html)
+ free tote for $5, with any purchase! (red, please).
Newport-News: Women's Clothing, Sportswear, Shoes, Jeans, Special Sizes, and more | Product Page (http://www.newport-news.com/shop/product_single.aspx?style_id=36870196&s_int=cart_promo_tote_0120)
Here's my 2nd choice:
Print Tiered Skirt, Turquoise, 2X - Compare Prices and Buy at PriceGrabber (http://clothing.pricegrabber.com/womens-skirts/Print-Tiered-SkirtTurquoise-2X/m87952208.html)
My 2nd choice was really my first, until I saw that there was a free tote being offered with the other one... (Just can't pass up a bargain!)
If the combined price for 2 of the 2nd choice would be within the price range, I would love a duplicate ~ 1 to wear for 'casual' (so I could wear it whenever I like & not worry about ruining it) & 1 for dress-up (whenever I might get a chance). And if this is a possibility, then 2 of this skirt becomes my 1st choice. {2 turquoise skirts trumps 1 teal skirt with tote.}
(Hope I did this right.) I added notes about size to my wish list.
Thanks for the chance to dream, if nothing else!

Not very romantic, but if it lets me print more coupons then it sounds good to me!

I take care of my Grandmother who cannot walk without a walker and bathe and dress herself, and now my mom who is losing her sight. My back is getting so sore I really need a good back massage. So a $50 SpaFinder Gift Certificate would be so great. Or a new Printer as mine only uses a ink cartridge that you can only get at Circuit City and now they are closing all stores.

For x-mas I asked DH for pajamas or something to lounge in that you'd see in Victoria's Secret. (not saying he had to go there but just to give him an idea of what I had in mind) Well, I guess that was too vague for him - X-mas morning I get underwear! Not saying I can't use underwear - who can't :whistle67: but can you at least get me something in my size? I am petite and can fit a medium all day long but he gets 3 XXL and 2 XSmall. Huh??!!?
:dealwithit::mad83:
The only thing I can make sense of that is he was embarrassed in Victoria Secret and grabbed the first thing in there so he could hurry and get out. :hysterical: :shrug7:
Anyway, I'd like something to lounge in after a hard day of couponing :wink7:
This one looks nice - Medium please ! :giggle2:

My choice is simple, but has a meaningful reason. I started coupon-ing because my DD (now 2 1/2) has been in and out of hospital. So, the only pictures we have taken of her and our family has been of post surgery and in hospital.
So, this Chirstmas, my husband gave me a "photo sitting" for myself and our DD. He even included several family photos to be taken because we haven't done those as well. The card enclosed with the gift certificate said" my gift to the family on 6 months surgery free!" .
I would love to have picture frames to showcase something other than the hospital.

I have always loved the look of black onyx - and I don't own any. Actually, I just can't bring myself to buy it - but, if I could actually get it as a gift - now that would be awesome.
I have several rings, that I don't wear, a pearl necklace (1 pearl), and a few earrings. I don't buy jewelry - these were given to me as a teenager and young married person. I've now been married 20 years (yeah).
My husband got me a new Kitchaid Mixer for Christmas - which I like - but it means I have to work to appreciate it. Last year, I got a new vacuum.
He's a wonderful guy, but I'd like a new bauble. I have to remind him on our anniversaires that I'd REALLY like flowers.

Does nothing count? Christmas morning, he complained I was hard to shop for (been married 20 years so I guess he's still getting to know me) and he couldn't find the perfect thing yet. It's a little over a month since then and I assume he's still looking... Oddly enough, he and DS got the same things for me for Mother's Day in 08. Rude to repeat a gift like that LOL

Up until a couple months ago, we owned one (yes, ONE) fitted sheet for our bed. When my 2-year old penned on it, I broke down and bought a flannel set at Target on sale. But I would LOVE another set so when one is in the wash, we have another ready to go.

Wow, I didn't realize how out of touch I am with myself. I can NOT think of one thing I want or need. Everything that popped up in my mind was for Dh or DD. I've had the hardest time, trying to think of something "just for me" that I wanted...and didn't need! My brain doesn't seem to work that way!
But, a few different books and cookbooks kept popping into my head, so I decided to go with A Gift Card for Amazon.com. Indoor Living - $50 Gift Certificate (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=63990638/st=product/sv=title)

Thanks so much for doing this!

I love to cook, but have some really crappy pans; I'd love some new ones.
This Christmas Eve, I spent the day returning gifts to stores to come up with enough money to pay some bills, because my husband hadn't been paid for 2 months. It was the saddest thing I've ever had to do. I even had to sell my sister the gift card I'd bought her for Christmas. So I didn't really get anything for Christmas, and didn't really give anything either.
To date, my husband STILL hasn't been paid since October, even though he's been working the full time (long story). He forgot my birthday last week, which was sad, so I also didn't get anything for that.
What I really wanted for Christmas was a waffle maker and some family photos. Our youngest daughter is a year, and we haven't had ANY professional photos done of her yet, and none of us all together either.
There are tons of people way worse off than we are, but it's just been sad times.

Can you tie 'em in a bow?
Can you throw them over your shoulder like a Continental soldier?
Do your boobs hangs low?

Here is my story....
I had a great Presto Pressure Cooker that I had gotten when I was first married. Made tons of soup, really had some great meals in that old pot. Then when my trusted friend was 28 years old I started having problems with it. It started spewing my creative concoctions and fountains of beefy broth like it was immitating Old Faithful. In a futal rush to save my old pot, I rushed to the store to buy a replacement gasket. But it was to no avail. The poor old pot had brazed its last beef, perked its last pork, creamed its last chicken stew. It was just worn out... gone.
I thought I would get over my loss quickly. Would replace it at a rapid pace, filling that lonely void in my pot and pan cabinet, and once I had that extra cash that wouldn't be missed I would find a new pot. Well girls, you know how the rest of the story goes....that was 3 years ago. Still really miss that old pot.
I would love to have a new Presto 6 qt. Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker for Valentines Day. At a bargan price of $43.99 plus Free Super Saver Shipping of course!

So socks and breath right strips it was! :rolleyes24: Do you know how much he got for under $20?!?!?!? He has not quite caught on to coupons yet!

Ooh, I love Valentine's Day, not because it is the day of love, but it is also my birthday!
For over a year now I have wanted a large skillet or saute pan with a lid. A lid is my main requirement. My dad bought me a set of pots and pans, but the big skillet doesn't have a lid. On top of that, it isn't big enough for me anyway when I try to cook enough food to make leftovers for lunch. Oy.
I have decided that I want all Red KitchenAid stuff for my kitchen. I am well on my way with all the utensils and some bowls and such, but I told DF I really really wanted the red set of pots and pans for Christmas. I even told him he could use a $100 Meijer gift card he has had in his wallet for a year :rolleyes24:, and pay $25 out of pocket and get it while it was on sale for $125, to include the big skillet pan I want, with a lid!! Of course that would be too easy!
Then one day we were at Meijer, a week or so before Christmas, and we are looking for just a single red KitchenAid skillet or saute pan and he says, well, I'll just get your Christmas present now, and proceeds to try to put the whole set in the cart. I told him no way was I going to let him buy it at $175 when he could get it atleast $50 cheaper. Long story short, I got dog lessons for Christmas and I still have a pan that is too small with NO lid.
So if you have made it to the end of my long drawn out story (sorry!), I would very much like a KitchenAid 4.75-qt. Gourmet Distinctions Saute Pan (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=22264933/search=kitchenaid%20saute%20pan/st=product/sv=title) for my birthday/Valentine's Day. I read the reviews on Amazon and they are great. It isn't red, but that skillet is $60. And now that I have ogled it for the past 10 minutes, I want this one more than the red one, lol.

So after I got help with how to post my Valentine's Day wish, here goes:
On August 25th, I will turn 40. My mission is to lose 40 pounds before my 40th birthday. I have been going to the gym for a month and have already lost 10 pounds. I set up a point reward system for myself so I wouldn't focus solely on the weight. I get a point for each day that I exercise, for keeping my calorie intake below 2000. If I lose a 1/2 pound from the previous day, then I get 1/2 of a point. If my weekly weight is less than the previous week I get 2 points. Each time I reach 20 points I get to buy myself something from my need list. So far, I have bought a new pair of dress shoes and a new bra! I would like to ask for an MP3 player if I win because I would really like to listen to my own music at the gym instead of the stuff that they play.
Thanks for the great contest and for reading my entry! (And for the help in getting this posted!)

I will spend Valentine's day with my three kids (two are disabled). I am newly divorced from an abusive man, so this will actually be the BEST Valentine's day in years.
So, I walked into the house from work one day, and I heard the vacuum going. My oldest son was home alone, and it turns out he was busy vacuuming the rabbit. Hey, he was dusty. Gotta love autism!

So yeah... I think if I actually let my frugal side take-over I'd say I need a crock-pot pretty desperately.... However, it's late and I've decided that I am gonna take you up on your offer to pick something just for me...
I actually found this hard to answer, as I'll be blogging about in the morn... I don't think much about things I want.... anyway, I decided. My favorite thing to do when life gets overwhelming is to disappear into a computer/video game. I know, I can hear moms everywhere gasping... :giggle2: but there's just nothing like building your own incredibly organized and beautiful (let's forget that it's fake) little world... even if it's only an hour while the baby naps. Let's face it, life will never be as easy as a video game. :wink7:
So, this game Spore has been out a while, but who can afford it??? Here's the link (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=88435144/zip_code=28613/st=zip)... It's $48 something at Amazon...
My funny story is this, it's not about Christmas, it about Valentine's Day... My husband and I decided that Valentine's Day is too expensive a time to be buying gifts that will be on sale the week after... and it's absoLUTEly impossible to get a table at a restaurant... so we decided a long time ago that we'd celebrate St. Patrick's Day instead. :patty15: So EVERY valentine's day I inSIST that I'm fine with not exchanging gifts and we usually end up volunteering to baby-sit so another couple can go out... and then EVERY year at about noon on Valentine's Day I get sad that he didn't do anything for me!!! :emb77: I know, I know, how much more of a girl could I be??? Anyway, the point is, last year he brought me flowers and I'm pretty sure he's gonna do something this year too. :giggle2:

One thing I would really love but never dream of buying (as I can't justify the cost) would be a cool pair of boots like these:
Laundry Women's Tyson Wedge Boot (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=85262645/st=product/sv=title)
The thing about Valentines Day is my husband (of 18 years) never just surprises me - he asks me what I want, and that is what I get. This year, I have not told him a thing, so we will see what he comes up with!

HI all.. Well this is my first time posting. But I could really use something for myself. I found EXACTLY what I NEED. And here is my story. I got a NEW MIcrowave/toaster cobo for X-mas 2007. Well by June of 2008, the microwave part quite working, and I have been jerked around by the Manufacturer and have not been able to get them to fix it. Now it is out of its one year warrienty. I have also been seperated from my spoce since August of 2008, adn I have a 8 year old daughter. It would be so much easier if I had a microwave to warm up all her little snack like Pizza rolls and such instead of having to wait on the OVEN to heat up. I just never realised how dependent I was and how convienent one can be until I have been with out one for so long. So this would be a gift for me... One that I COULD TRUELY USE.. THANKS ALL!!!

I was all set to find something fun just for me, so I went to the "shop" tab to find something I wouldn't buy for myself. Clicked on the "miscellaneous jewelry" section to find that the first entry is a crockpot! What?! Is this a subliminal message that I'm destined to be frugal, even when I try not to be? :-D HA!
I'll try for something else that sounds interesting, even though there was no picture:

Well, I found something that I'd like and would never in a million years buy for myself. It's a little girl's jewelry box with the twirling ballerina that looks almost identical to the one I had when I was a girl. Mine was broken when it fell off a dresser over 25 years ago, and I moped and whined for several months after. My mom was unable to find another one and she looked high and low at the time. It's not frugal, practical or for anyone else!

GE 5-2548 Battery x 5
(http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getoffers.php?keyword=GE%2052548B737&search=5-2548%20battery)
I know it seems like a goofy thing to have on my wish list. I'd always rather have something that blinks that something that twinkles (give me electronics over diamonds any day of the week!). :BigHand:
Actually I need new batteries for my phones; I have 5 extension and all the batteries are going kaput. Not a good thing since the reason I have this set is so that I can answer my business line from anywhere in the house. (nobody needs to know I'm washing the dog when they call...) With the great deal found, five of them only make it half way to the prize limit, so I've added a second item: CSS - The Missing Manual (English) (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php?isbn=9780596526870&nrd=1&found=1&search=CSS+missing+manual).

What a great contest.. Thanks!
I knew exactly what to look for when I saw the contest. Last month was me and husband's 4th wedding anniversary. Since being a little tight on budget I decided it would be sweet enough to surprise him at work with a picnic at the beach with a homemade lunch. I planned it all to every single detail. Candle, blanket, picnic basket filled with food he had been craving lately, chocolate truffles - it was perfect.
For some reason, God decided it was all just a little TOO perfect. As I was walking out to my van it started to rain! Of all days - in southern california! But I smiled to myself, and thought "oh hell, I got this one". So I ran back into the house, grabbed a blanket, made some fresh coffee, took the kids carseats out of the back of our van and drove to pick up my husband. Feeling quite clever I found a spot by the ocean side, and reverse parked my van. I opened the back door and set up the picnic in the back of our van. I know, so romantic right? Blankets, candles, hot coffee and chocolate truffles.. watching the rain fall to the sound of the ocean waves crashing. I was one cloud nine.. until once again things perhaps got a little too perfect for the universe to handle. Gnats started flying into our van.... before we could even realize it our van ceiling was covered with at least 50 gnats. We laughed it off, packed up our food (of course we lost our appetites!).. we had a blast trying different techniques to try and get the gnats out. Thirty minutes later, after celebrating success we hop out of the backseat of our van... only to find the van door was literally covered with HUNDREDS of gnats! apparently we weren't the only ones trying to find shelter from the rain!!
So, in hopes of FOREVER avoiding any situation similar to that.. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this: A Beach Shelter (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=704209735/search=beach%20shelter/st=product/sv=title)

I really, really love this watch (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=1745688/search=green/st=product/sv=title)!
Here is my "How we met" Story, since it has to do with me running late because I obviously didn't have a watch at the time.
I'd met Billy when I was dating another boy (yes, boy, we were too young at 17) and thought he was a big dork. I was quite conceited back then :whistle67:. He went to church with another one of my guy friends, and when he heard that I had broken up with my current boyfriend, he begged my friend for my #. Well, my friend knew better than to give it out without asking, and he was right because I gave him an emphatic, "NO!" I was a senior and trying to work 2 jobs (didn't anyone ever worry about child labor laws?) on top of having a social life. I was constantly running from here to there, and had problems with my last boyfriend because of it. I know this sounds awful but while I was open to new friends, I didn't want to waste what little free time I had on someone I wasn't interested in, who I knew wanted more than friendship. But Billy (as I've learned many times since:biggrin:) wasn't one to give up on something he wanted. He bugged my friend relentlessly about my #, "just to talk", he would say. My friend caught me on a day that I was running late (again:shrug7:), and begged me to just talk with him, to get him off his back. I was stressed and not in the mood to argue so I okayed it. I regretted okaying it later, but kept thinking I could just make excuses when he called that I had to hurry and get off the phone. And that's what I did, the first time. Thankfully, he didn't give up! I was sick and had been in bed for 3 days when he called the next week. I was feeling better and getting cabin fever, and was glad to have something to take my mind off being sick. Long story short, (well, shorter) I fell in love over the phone. We talked 3 hours that afternoon and he had me laughing so hard I cried:hysterical:. It would be so late after work sometimes that I would fall asleep on the phone. I had a hectic schedule but we found time to see each other. We've been together 13 years next month!

My funny little Christmas Story is what I got this year was a pen and Timer/calculator set from my Hubby because in his words, I have been so very good couponing Oh, dear... we are talking a $4 clicky pen with a gelly grip and a led light for writing in the dark (he must think I need to use this in the middle of the night when I need to wake up from a deep sleep and write down the bargain of my dreams) a timer so I can time myself while I dash through the store to gather all my deals, and a calculator so I can tabulate how much we saved and buy him a clue.
:hysterical:
how do the Hubbies manage to do it? they are always dead pan serious too! He has no problem buying himself a brand new Wii and six games plus two new pairs of sunglasses all for no reason last week... I wish I had the money and the nerve...LOL!

Not sure if I'm doing this right...really new at all of this.
I'm a 30 year old mother of 3 little boys with another little one on the way...crossing fingers for a girl!! I teach middle school band to about 150 low income, extremely diverse, chapter 1, fabulously loving, children. I recently left my home town to "make a difference" and ended up in Austin, TX. I love my job, love my kids, love my students, and neglect myself. I left my juicer behind when I moved and have kicked myself daily in Austin. At the time, if it didn't fit in a box, I couldn't bring it. I left many things behind!! My three boys are from a previous marriage, and the new little one is from a wonderful second chance. My fiance loves my boys like they were his own, and treats me like I have never been treated. I spend my days trying to stay above water between being a good future wife, mother, and teacher....a juicer may seem simple to most, but, for me, it would be a good way to get that morning OJ fresh--and to slow down for just five minutes and take a quick breather!
Thanks for this contest and this opportunity, I wish EVERYONE good luck!!

If I could choose something for myself, it wouldn't be practical. It would be a splurge on jewelry. I love to look at and admire jewelry. It's fun for me to look at my jewelry when I'm sitting somewhere stuck (like in traffic or a meeting). It brings me lots of joy. However, since we're concentrated on paying off debt, I haven't gotten a new one in a long time  I play a lot of poker (separate account set up, NO I dont gamble my bill/debt money) and have been approached to go pro and to have people financially back me. While that sounds like fun, I do have a reality, like a real job, etc. And I can't see having someone pay my way in...not for me. Anywho, when I play tournaments, I'm normally there for hours, so I have bags of stuff, extra clothes, tons of food and drinks to keep nourished. The purse I use now it way to small, so I'm stuck carrying my purse and like 2-3 plastic bags. When I have to move to a new table or leave, I have to gather ALL my stuff and it's just a pain. This bag is HUGE to fit ALL my stuff in, it's PERFECT!

American Tourister Indoor Living - iLite XL 21 inch Expandable Carry-On Size Upright (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=62740559/st=product/sv=title)
I would love to have this carry-on luggage. I will be traveling extensively for my job and don't have any rolling bags, have to lug it all myself. I never really get anything for Valentine's day anyways, DH always just goes to CVS and picks something out of the "holiday aisle" which eventually ends up in the garage sale pile.
Thank you for this contest! It is wonderful.

Indoor Living - Rachael Ray 3.5-qt. Enameled Cast Iron Round Covered Casserole, Blue (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=30516498/st=product/sv=title)
Each year, my husband asks me, "Honey, when is Valentine's Day again?" Usually sometime around mid-January. My reply to him is always the same. "It's the same day every year, February 14th." This year, I've been really sick, and apparantly he's forgotten to ask. The illness has distracted him. Either way, I have yet to receive a card or candy or email in our 10 years together. I LOVE kitchen gadgets and cookware. And love Rachael Ray, too.

Okay--have thought long and hard about this one.
I am dying for a spa insert for my bathtub. (After hearing waaaa from 2 babies all day long, this would be a fab way to unwind without actually going to or paying for a spa visit. Ha like I would actually pay for THAT!)
Here is the cheapest one I could find:
Oxygen-Ion Turbo Bath Spa - 1877 - Hydrotherapy - (http://www.dmesupplygroup.com/oxygen-ion-turbo-bath-spa-1877.html)
$51.64
Here is the link to enter correctly:

Well, my Dh has learned NOT to buy me fuzzy socks after the year he gave me a pair almost every night of Chanukah. This year, I got money. I hate getting money because I very rarely spend anything on myself. But, I do need a new wallet. My old one is on its very last leg. Okay. So I have never gotten house numbers but.....
4 years ago my Dh did great. He surprised me with the Pink Kitchen-Aid Mixer plus we took my wedding band in and upgraded it to the next size diamond. (Without me knowing.) The last 2 years we haven't been able to get each other anything....just made sure the kids had a good christmas.
Then came the next year of crappy christmas gifts. He asked me what I wanted and about 5 times I said "How the grinch stole christmas" cartoon version...NOT the one with Jim Carrey. So what did I recieve.... How the Grinch stole christmas...with Jim Carrey and 2 scratch off lotto tickets....:hysterical:.
I think it is awesome that you guys are offering this contest. I would love to get a pasta maker and "how the grinch stole christmas" cartoon version...(NOT with Jim Carrey):hysterical:.

Wow! What a great contest!
Here are two things I have been wanting forever, but of course, never would buy for myself!!
Kenwood Electronics - KDC-MP208 In Dash CD/MP3 Player - KDCMP208 (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=50458275/st=product/sv=title)
(because I have a 1988 Ford truck that gets ONE radio station!)
And this is cheesy, but I've always wanted to be able to store my shoes in the clear boxes to make my miniscule closet a little more organized. So $50 worth of these will make my day!!
QT Furniture - Clear Plastic Boxes- Small Shoe 5.4 . (http://hotcouponworld.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=32424198/search=shoe%20storage/st=product/sv=title)
I don't ever get to do anything for myself, as I have two children of my own, plus I am raising my niece and nephew (my girls are ages 5 and 3, and my niece and nephew are ages 3 and 6!!). So the contests that you guys do are fantastic! It'd be a nice pick me up for a more often than not mediocre life. :thanks7:

I usually don't get anything for V Day or any other special occasion (anniversary, b-day, sweetest day) for that matter, this year I made it very clear that I had better receive something even if it is just flowers - which is all I really want (the perfume would be a very nice bonus), so I've suggested a doz roses several times. Lets see if he gets it right this year!

All those Christmas birthdays get all the pity--not that you don't deserve it... Those of us who have February birthdays, like myself, we often get combined with V-Day! (My birthday is today!) I have looked long and hard at what I could get for just me. Jammies!!! I love them, and on our low budget they are so impractical. I normally just wear shorts and a t-shirt. After all, no one ever sees them but my kids and occasionally my hubby. (He works the night shift.) But I would just love to pamper myself with nice jammies. Here's the link:
