They are CLOSING stores! In March!

That is the ONLY store that has good deals for me now.

Both Green Bay, WI stores, two stores in the Madison area, and the Beloit store are also closing. I'm so upset--Cub had by far the BEST deals in town! No more expired coupon use, no more awesome coupon combos, no more buy $30 get $15 deals. Waaahhhhhhh!!!! :dontgo1:

Oh my goodness, I am surprised! All the Cubs around me have great business. I know that in Wisconsin (in the Green Bay Area anyways I think), Festival Foods is more popular. I don't know why, as they don't take expired coupons and are much more expensive.

I'm in Ohio. Up until last year, there were 3 Cub stores in our area. Now there are only two. Thankfully, the one that closed was the farthest from me. But I still don't like the idea of a company shutting down 33% of their stores.

They are closing cuz as a corporate whole they are not doing well.

As far as festivle, yeah i like the store a lot, but as a deal seaker I dont.

Where will I shop...............I'm not sure how I will do it yet, I will probablly scour Copps ads much harder as I live on the east side of GB so woodmans is a hike for me.

Otherwise I would go to super walmart and work deals there as you can get good deals, but walmart just annoys me............so

Festivle and Copps, i know festivle has been putting out more sales and weekly coupons, so we will see if I can make some deals outa that.

Though DH said there should be some GOOD deals coming up with Cub, but yeah I wanna cry LOL

Wow. I was surprised to read your post. Is the one you go to usually busy? The one I go to is always busy. I would be shocked to hear if mine were to close, so I'm sure you were too.

The problem is that there is no competition in the Midwest area, so now the other ones can raise their prices. In our area, Rainbow and Cub are the only real competitors so if one closes shop in this area, the other one can just raise prices at will. I thought Cub was a stronger company, but in the economic times I guess everyone is at risk. Maybe another store will open in its place. I hope this happens for you guys in the area.

I am so bummed though cuz all the Sentrys closed, and now the Supervalu Cubs are it stinks.

Yeah they are fairly busy, i always thought they did good but yeah i guess i was wrong LOL I am depressed over it LOL

one of the peoria, illinois cubs is also closing...it is the one closest to my house and the reason i like going there is they are never busy....

I heard on the radio the other day SuperValue (the company that owns Cub Foods, as well as Albertsons and other chains) reported losses last quarter. They are struggling like the rest of them. When people don't have money, they cut food if they can. I hope mine never closes. I will die. Literally.

they are no longer accepting COUPONS or CHECKS. they also are not honoring the ad in any way shape or form.

Oh, I hope not! I only have two small grocery stores in my town so I drive to the city once or twice a month to shop. I love cub, I was planning on shopping there on our way home from a skating competition this weekend.
