I actually ended up meeting someone that lives about 5 miles away from me on this board (hi Beth!).
Today at BiLo I had someone asking me questions (HI ANGIE!) and I told her to come here. HOPE SHE MAKES IT!

Yep I've had the pleasure of meeting a couple. When our Bi-Lo had triples last year, I had the pleasure of meeting chartline (haven't seen her on here in a while). I have corresponded several times with angielee (Hi Angie!) and got to meet Antangee in one our local CVS stores. My cousin AnnitaJ got to meet one or two different ladies during Super Triples. I am crossing my fingers that maybe Bi-Lo will do this again in our area.

As Necipie posted, I met her at CVS. I did get to meet AnnitaJ at Bi-Lo last year during the triples. I shop at both of the Bi-Lo stores here in Cleveland, TN. I know there are a couple of more couponers in our area, but I'm not sure if they are HCW members.
Crossing fingers for some more triples...I've finally ran out of the frozen biscuits! LOL!
PS - Just wanted to add that I know there is a group of ladies that were meeting here in Cleveland for a coupon swap. I'm not sure if they are still doing that or are HCW members.

I have met another couponer but they were not from HCW but another site. But, the rule still stands. It would be nice to see you and meet you and see you getting some good deals, but do not let me catch you emptying the shelves.......!!! (joke)(or maybe not)

hey hey hey!1 but we ended up running into each other at cvs..and before that at ht.
I too shop at bi-lo in stanley... I have a red notebook (soon to be box) that will sit in the front of the buggy. I suggested to val and maybe this is something we could start doing. but either having our screen names somewhere on us our our binders/coupon transporters. that way if there is another hcw member shopping you will recognize the name. I just don't bother too many people when I am getting my stuff, because I wouldn't want to hold anyone up, but if I saw a name tag with a screen name on it, I would so say hi and conversate a bit! just thought it would be a fun suggestion to find out who shops at the same stores.
but beware, you would see uummm everywhere!!

I always run into my BCF (Best Coupon Friends) there! When I am shopping and I see someone with a notebook full of baseball card holders and coupons I always ask and say hi!

I have thought about putting my screen name on my binder.I use the same screen name on every web site I use. HCW & Ebay,Ect.I will talk to anyone that has coupons.(smile)I have had people hand me coupons during tripples at HT.I do the same if I have extra coupons I will hand them to another couponer.I tell alot of people about HCW.

on the side of your box, you could put "DO YOU KNOW HCW?"
Only those who do would approach you. It be meaningless to
other people.

most of the couponers I have ran into was at Target and they were from another deal site. I have never met anyone in any other stores. I wish I could find someone else who got just as excited over free napkins, plates, etc.. as I do.

Mine it would work great on because mine is a box that flips open...but I would think if it was on a binder and your binder was open then it wouldn't be visible only when shut.

I've gone up to strangers who were obviously using alot of coupons like I was, tried to initiate a brief conversation like "finding some good deal?", offer them a coupon website, even give them some good coupons for tripling, etc. They seem not to want anyone in their space, so I stopped it. I'll just go about my couponing and wait on others to approach me.

see this is my thinking as welll, I don't know what other people have going on, and dont want to invade their space. plus, what if they only use a few coupon and i transform into coupon overload and scare them away. they may not even understand the language (couponese that is ;))
so i just keep to myself, smile and say high to someone I pass by, but that is about it. I normally have all the time I need to shop, but I understand others don't so I keep to myself

When I send my address to people to send me coupons, or they send me their address we discover we are close. One was in my city and we met at the post office one day to exchange coupons and chat a few minutes. Another trader was in a nearby town and was very surprised they were only 14 miles away. 25 miles around Charlotte is big. There are 1 Bloom, close to 10 Food Lion, several HT, many Bi-Lo, Lowes Foods, Walmarts, Targets, etc. so, the number of people in that 25 mile area who are on this site and others is very high, some pretty much remain anonymous unless you have traded with them. ex: On another board you can post a tip of the trade......you get no responses but you see the number of people who have looked, like several hundred, so some just do their own couponing, take advice from other's post and advice on many boards and never really get involved in any of the threads. They want and use the advice, etc. but all they do is "look".

Yesterday while I was at Harris Teeter I was telling the people I saw using coupons that it was triples the next day. Most of the ones with coupons are happy that I said something to them.
But like Beth - I too have made the mistake (several times) and starting talking in THE lingo and totally loose them. BUT Come on- when you tell me you are a "couponer" and you have a binder, then you should know the lingo. I mean how did you come up with the whole BINDER Thing if you didn't read it somewhere? To me if you have that binder then you mean business....But then I have to remind myself, not everyone is as hard core as me:giggle2:.

you just never know if people want to really save money and know what they are doing, or just using a few coupons to lower the bill. and again that is why I normally keep to myself
