Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place because this is sort of a generic question but unique to the gift card system. I think...
I am trying to track all my spendings versus what I save at Walgreens on a monthly basis using a spreadsheet. I have a separate column that credits me for the monthly rebates that are applied to my gift card and that is subtracted from the monthly spend column. So far, so good.
The question arises when I spend the money on that gift card which lowers my acutal out of pocket on next month's purchase. Do I count this GC spent amount against my calculated savings on the new purchase? Or is that counting one savings twice?
I hope I've explained it well enough. It is making my head hurt to try to work it out. :/

Hi everyone. A little confused about the wording in today's ad, 1/4/09. On pg 11, in the Theraflu/Benefiber section, I can purchase any 2 of these items for $10, and receive $5 RR. However, it says "Limit 1 coupon printed per offer." Does this mean I can buy only 1 combination of any 2 items? Or, does it mean it prints only 1 RR coupon for every 2 items I buy?
Am I making any sense? LOL TIA!

What I do is calculate what cash I spend right out of my pocket.
e.g. Last week the Wyeth deal:
5 Wyeth $20-$10mq=$10 cash paid Received $5, $5, $10 that I don't deduct from OOP spent. So Savings $10 Spent $10
Now this week:
Total after coupons and RRs was around $3 so that is what I paid OOP. (Crazy me forgot my gift card) Savings $37 from coupons, RRs +?? sale discounts)
Now if I said I made a profit of $10 on Wyeth I can't count the RRs next time.

It means you want to only buy 2 per transaction to get your RR, but you can have multiple transactions and get the $5 RR each time. If you buy 4 items in one transaction you will only get the one $5 RR. Also make a note mentally and physically not to use Theraflu/Benefiber RR on the next transaction of Theraflu/Benefiber since it will not roll.

Thanks for your reply, and I understand the part about not counting RR's twice. I only count RR when I spend them. In your example above you had $3 OOP but forgot your gift card. If you'd paid the $3 using the GC does that increase the total savings? That is what I'm trying to figure out... :)

Yes it would have increased my total savings because it's no cash oop as long as I treat it the same as the RRs.

I am having the same thing go through my mind. I didn't even go to Walgreens today because I fear that if I try and use both coupons they will say I can't. Quite frankly, I'm still happy with Shampoo for .99, but I just don't want them thinking I'm trying to pull something.
I may just not try both coupons. I may just go ahead and get it for .99. I tell myself, "why be greedy?" Makes me feel some better. LOL!
Anyone else try this yet?

I have only had this happen to me once at a Walgreens I rarely go to. All my other Walgreens let me buy as many as I want (usually 2 or 3 of an item is all I get). The "one per purchase" to me means 1 coupon for 1 item but trying to education some cashiers is pretty impossible sometimes. You should ask for a manager if this happens again & go up the ladder from there if need be.

If I have $20 in RR's that expire on 1/11, can use them on the 11th or do they expire on that day. I know with regular coupons you can still use them on the day they expire. Wasn't sure about RR's. Thanks

Give the manuf first and then the easy saver and it will go through just fine. I went to 8 different walgreens yesterday (as to not wipe out any one store) and ended up with 88 different garnier products (just paid tax on all of them) and 23 Reynolds Wraps (also just paid tax)!!!

For the week of 1/11- Wags will have the Breeze 2 or contour meters on sale for 14.99 w/ 14.99 mail in rebate.
I have 2 $30 coupons... How do they handle this? any experience as I know there was a sale on these awhile ago and people had $30 coupons... I just never did it and didn't see what happened when a cashier saw it was way over amount charged.
Plus... If they do price adjust the coupon... Could I get the $14.99 on top of that besides getting it for free?

YMMV on this.....check your coupon though and make sure it doesnt say up to $30. Some will adjust the coupon down and some will refuse to accept it, since the item is on sale.
And NO if you get the item for FREE...you will not get the rebate.

I remember when I went for the dryer and they were gone, the manager couldn't apologize enough. I totally understood, the companies can't be giving away tons of dryers. But he still said he was sorry that it was advertised and that they didn't have many. Now that's a nice manager.
So, I'm thinking he should have tons of shampoos. LOL!

I went in the other day with a $25 transfer and they asked if I had ever used one before. I was honest and told them yes. But he was already looking in the computer and said it must have been for someone else in the family. I dont think it was because I am the only one who gets meds monthly. So he said that I could use it. I know that does not really answer your question but that is what I know.

On RR deals do the Register Rewards print out b4 u pay or after u pay? If they print out b4 u pay then when do u hand them coupons 4 ur deal? 4 instance i bought the Flintstones vitamins deal and gave them my coupons then didn't have enough and didn't print my register rewards? What did i do wrong?

They usually print out after you pay. There could be a couple reasons why they didnt print, like wrong size or the Catalina machine not on or working, but dont let them tell you its because you used coupons! Thats the excuse you will get though....you can ask them to re-ring it without coupons to prove there is something wrong with the machine if you are sure you have the right items.

These usually print out after you have paid for your transaction and just bwcause you had coupons, shouldn't have stopped the RR. Are you sure you had the right size for the RR? You didnt do anything wrong that I can tell. Next time ask for your manager and asked him to rering it up for you.

Ohio is almost the same as FL. You will pay tax at CVS on the manufacturer coupons, but ECBs reduce the taxable amount and so do CRTs and CVS coupons and if you hand those over in the right order you can get $0 oop.
Walgreens coupons are read as mqs even if they are from the ESR book therefore the tax stays. I'm not totally sure about the in-ad coupon, but those may reduce the taxable amount since it's a price adjustment, if used before subtotal is hit, but I'm not sure on that.

I have only shopped at Walgreens once because we just finally got some in my area. Anyways, I want to go there this week because of the Ben and Jerry's and the Garnier. Here is my question, if I want to get, lets say 4 Garnier products do I need to have 4 seperate coupons from the EasySaver Book? I thought I saw somewhere on here where someone said that if the Easy Saver coupon is scanned once it will apply for all of the qualifying items you purchase. I just want to verify this and find out the correct way to do things so i don't look foolish when I go there.

You only need 1 easysaver coupon (or 7-day coupon out of the flyer) and the Wags register will take off the correct amount.
I haven't found a difference with the way I hand over my coupons. I do, however, hand over my Walgreens coupons LAST. I've tried it like CVS and hand over my RR first (like ECBs), but it doesn't make one bit of difference in what I pay here in FL.

I am in FL and can answer this question...
CVS ECB are considered store coupons and any store coupon will take off the tax on that amount. However, we have to pay tax on manuf coupon amounts. If you are buying something that is nontaxable along with the taxable item, the register will take off the tax on the taxable item first when paying with part of a ECB.
Here are examples that may help you understand:
At Wags... you buy an item for $2.50 and use a $2.50 coupon... you will pay tax on $2.50
At CVS... if the only thing you are buying is a taxable $2.50 item and paying with a $1 coupon and a $1.50 ECB you will pay tax on the $1. If you are buying a taxable $2.50 item with just a $2.50 ECB you won't pay anything. If you are buying a $2.50 taxable item and a $2.00 non-taxable item (like food or medical) and using a $1 coupon on the taxable item and paying with a $3.50 ECB, the ECB will take off the tax on $3.50 of your purchase so now all that is left is the non-taxable item so you don't pay anything.
Its kind of confusing and it took me a year to figure it all out.
Like if I bought just the garnier with $1 coupon and $1.99 ECB at CVS this week, I would pay 7 cents tax. BUT if I added the soy joys with it (or any medicine or other food item), and used a $1 coupon on the garnier and a $7.99 ECB, I would not pay any tax because the soy joys are non-taxable.

Last night I bought Gummy Flinstone Vitamins from Walgreens. I cut off the upc's and mailed them to Bayer. But I just looked at the expiration dates, and 3 of my 4 bottles expired 11/2008. What do you think? Will Wags take them back without the receipt and without the upc's? Should I print my receipt since I scanned it?

I would print out a copy of the reciept and take the product back in.

HI Have a question here. My 2 stores has been out of shampoo/condi. since monday and there is no other wallgreens that I can drive to (since I live on an island)
my question is can I get a rain check? or is that policy up to the store? I was told I cannot get a rain check because its an easy saver coupon deal. I was thinking if they gave the the rain check for 2.99 (the sale price) then as long as I use it before the end of the month then I can use the easy saver coupon right? or am I totally off the wall?

I'm new here, so please forgive the newb question. I've been searching all over the forum and I can't find the WAG coupon policy. I want to print it out and have it on hand JUST IN CASE.
Could someone direct me to it?
Thanks.

it seems Walgreen Coupon policy is different depending on the store, day of the week, time of day.
I would suggest that you email corporate and ask them their coupon policy, I would ask specifics as well ( can I use 2 coupons on a bogo, can I use a mfg with a IVC coupon) This way you will have a email to you from corporate with your name on it.

However each Store Manager has the right to make the policy for his/her own store.

not sure on the best deal to get your oop down, but if you pay for the kelloggs deal with the $3RR you got the first time you won't get another RR.

Hi, this is my 1st time posting. I went to Wags yesterday to get the Electrasols that I have seen all over the net and were supposed to be $3.49 BEFORE the rebate. My local Wags (small town, the only one within 4 hrs drive) has it for $4.49 AFTER the rebate?!?!? :rolleyes24: Does anyone know how I can get it for the $3.49 price after? It's cheaper for me to take the coupons to Wal-Mart. The regular price there is $3.75-$2.50 coupon =$1.25 would be my total cost, but free is MUCH better. :-( Such a bummer. Anyway, I would love some advice. Thanks!!! :wink7:

Hi. The Walgreen's ad today has Speed Stick and Mitchum with a coupon making them 1.99. The ad says "Coupon Savings in Sunday Papers!" Our paper today did not have any coupons, but we live in a smaller community and our ads stink compared to the Sacramento paper. Did the bigger papers include coupons for these items? Which insert? How much? Thank you!

The weekly ad tells you what is needed to produce the RRs and you find the Rebates in the Easy Saver Rebate booklet that is usually found on the rack with the sales ads.

Cheap fillers can be anything from pencils, candy, clearance items, pocket Kleenex. Just something that doesnt cost you a whole lot. I usually buy pencils, you can find those for around 10 to 20 cents

I am going to attempt to make this understandable..........I'm looking at the Gatorade that you can get the RR's on this week. My Grandmother handed me a whole stake of 35c off any size Gatorade today. (She does demo's at Publix and they were leftovers or something.) Anyhow, my question is......Do I have to spend $20 BEFORE using the coupons or AFTER using the coupons? Do they subtract the coupons from your $20 purchase and if the total isn't $20 then no RR's?:shrug7:

I was wondering how to find out exactly when a RR deal starts and ends. Like the Pepsi/Frito deal wasn't listed in ad until this week but was working last week before advertised. I've asked cashiers but they always say that don't know. I had thought RR deals were only for days the ad was good but a few months back I think it was Crest mouthwash was like $4.50 and get $4.50 RR and it lasted longer the week so I missed getting extra Free mouthwash lol.

you get a raincheck and then use it when the item comes back in at the store. Some stores will only write one raincheck, others may write numerous. As far as quanity, I wouldn't go real high as then the cashier may give ya the song and dance routine about limiting quanities, ect ect ect.
I would try getting a raincheck from maybe the person in cosmetics, and one from the front register.
oh yea some stores leave the quanity blank  while others will write in only 1 or two

The situation is that I purchased 8 twin packs of Bayer Aspirin last Sunday, used 8 $1 coupons, and no RR. Forgot about not receiving the $10 RR and went to the store today. First, I heard from the manager that MQ void the RR and the same line on a call back from someone at the local district office. The person from district told me that manufacturers and Walgreens had set it up that way. I attempted to point out that I had purchased twin packs and I read on the Internet this has caused problems for others. Befor mentioning, I did call catalina, the rep research the issue, called me back to say I was "cheated" and there's a $10 GC being mail in a few weeks.
Supposedly, ever since Wags have done these RR promos, MQ and any RR can't be used on a deal, true or false?

as a rule the office sends markdowns to all stores. After the reset/revision is done the stores then have the option of marking the items down more or leaving them the price they are. Most clearance items start out in the dept they are in, after the reset/revision some stores move it to a "clearance" end, and others move it to the front in a table/cart and blow it out to get rid of it.

false, or I have never had a problem with a RR printing if I use a mfg or a RR, however do keep in mind if you get a RR from pepsi, you can't use that pepsi RR to purchase more pepsi and get another RR.

As Irishlass said, it's all month. However, the sale prices are only good for each week's ad rotation. That's why everyone's going :hectic1: over Skippy and Ragu this week.

I thought so and I even made that point over the phone to the person from the district office. I even called the 800# and found I was back talking to someone in Earth City. I'll do the Pepsi/Frito-Lay deal with MQ at a more "friendly" Wags and hope it goes smoothly.

I live in southeast Idaho and our weekly ad has only been 8 pages all month instead of the standard 16 page ad everyone else is getting. I emailed Walgreen's about it and a local store manager called and told me that they are part of a new pilot program that Walgreen's is trying. He said that because of tough economic times they are trying to reduce costs by making the ad smaller - which means less work for them. I understand the philosophy behind this program, but I am sad to see all of the deals people are getting across the country that are not available in my area. The store manager told me that Walgreen's is thinking about implementing this program in all of their stores, but for now it only affects the stores that are serviced from the Flagstaff distribution center. Has anyone else heard about this? Does anyone have the smaller ad previews for my area? Thanks.

Walgreens.com - Local Weekly Ad (http://walgreens.shoplocal.com/walgreens/Default.aspx?action=browsepageflash&storeid=2431201&rapid=649481&pagenumber=1&prvid=Walgreens-090118&promotioncode=Walgreens-090118)
I wouldn't be surprise if Wags just can't find enough people with the computer/graphic to work for chump change. My local newspaper constantly has an ad looking to hire for these jobs, along with part-time warehouse gigs that pay $8 an hour. Locally, between the ads and booklets "waste" by stores and the overrun that never made it into the newspapers, it's a big drain on those poor folks in Deerfield.

if you use the RR from the Ragu to purchase more Ragu the system will not print another RR. That is called "rolling" and you can't roll RR and get another one.
You can pay for Pepsi with the Ragu RR and get another RR from the Pepsi deal, then use the RR from the Pepsi deal on the Ragu deal.

I haven't heard that, of course there will always be rumors, just like with the CVS ECB program. I can't imagine they would do away with RRs-this program is what brings in customers to make purchases other than prescription medication. That would be a really bad move on WAG's part, especially in areas with CVS all over the place.

I agree with Mikki I don't see it happening, nor have I heard/read anything about it being done away with. IMO these days with so many retailers begging for sales I dont' see them doing away with a program that helps drive sales. If anything I think we will all see retailers being more agressive to get our business.

I have a question...
do the 7-day coupons from the ad count as coupons for the rule that you have to have more (or equal) items then coupons? I thought they weren't suppose to but I swear one time it wouldn't let me.... it was few months ago though so maybe I don't remember right... and it was a RR that was scanned last that beeped and those sometimes give problems for other reasons... but when I threw a candy bar on to make it an equal number of coupons and items including 7-day coupons, it worked.
but anyways what I want to do tomorrow is:
2 carefree
2 brawny
1 colgate total
so 5 items
the coupons I have are
two $1/1 brawny
two $1/1 carefree
one .75/1 colgate
7-day carefree
7-day brawny
so does that count as 7 coupons or do just the 5 manu coupons count? Ever since that RR beeped one time I've been counting the 7-day coupons and just throwing on a filler item just in case... but I really don't want to buy anything extra tomorrow... I'm really sick of candy lol... never thought I'd say that lol

You probably didn't have a high enough total before tax to use the RR.

You won't need a filler unless you also plan on using a RR to pay--then you need one more item and make sure the RR is not from a Colgate offer or you won't get the new RR.

Reader Boards are the signs in front of most stores that are electronic, and some stores have to manually change them.
The specials are listed on the Reader Boards, and run from Thursday -Saturday.

A smart person will also use Wags coupons and MQ to make the monthly amount go further. There are a handful of items, e.g. paper products, that are ineligible for food stamps. Given how food pantries are being hit hard, I hope the stimulus bill before Congress has increase money for this program.

I've looked around and haven't found this question, but then I really wasn't sure how to search effeciently. I hope to not be one of those annoying newbies asking a "tired" question...but...
I went to WG to get a few deals (toothpaste, deoderant and cereal mainly). At the register I did my first transaction with the Colgate toothepaste (4 tubes). On sale for $2.99 w/ $2RR and I had four $1.50 coupons. So, MY math says $2.99 - $2RR = .99 - $1.50 coupon = FREE ($1.49/ea. oop at that time).
But...I only got ONE RR for $2. The manager came and said that only 1 RR would print for a particular item. He told me that if I wanted my RR for each toothpaste I'd have to buy them individually. So I asked him to void the transaction and start over and proceeded to buy each individual toothpaste as 1 transaction. I got all $8 of my RR that way.
Then I wanted do another transaction to use those RR to buy 4 Dove deodoerants (on sale $1.99. I had 4 small Qs, but I can't remember what they were now) and 2 boxes of Kellog's cereal (on sale $1.99. Q = $1.50/2). I had coupons for all of these and my total came to $8 and something. The manager told me I couldn't use my RR on these because RR were manufacturer coupons (it says so at the top of the RR)and I had already applied manufacturer coupons to these purchases by using the deoderant and cereal coupons from my local paper. He told me that I could only use RR with instore coupons NOT stacked with manufacturer Qs. I tried to disagree with him, but I didn't know what I was doing and he wouldn't budge. I ended up taking back all of my deoderant coupons and using my RR to pay for those at the full $1.99 in store sale price and paid for the cereal seperately OOP.
Needless to say, he wasn't happy with me.
If that makes any sense...can you tell me where I went wrong?:shrug7:

In order to use the RR in your scenario you need to buy a small filler ... the RR is a manufacturer coupon and since you had coupons for all your items it had nothing to attach to... next time just grab something small (there's usually pencils on sale cheap) and it should go right through.. HTH

Oh! That would never have occurred to me. So, since they printed out as 4- $2 RR would I need to buy 4 "pencils" or whatever? I'll try that...if they haven't put my photo up and banned me as a trouble maker at the store! lol:smile:

Next time when you are wanting to use RR with Manf and ES coupons, just pick up little cheap fillers for every RR you plan to use. Then you should have no problem using them. For example....you buy 8 items, have 8 manf coupons, 5 RR, you will need 5 fillers.

Until recently the monthly Easysaver Rebate Book was starting, while the previous book was still in effect. This led to all sort of good deals. Coupons from one book was use with coupon from the other book and at least once, folks submitted tape info on one buy to get rebates for both months. I do recall there was even $X off $XX email coupons that made everyone happy. March ESR book ends on the 28th and so let hope April one is early.
Those were the days when you could pad your $20 requirement by buying a book of stamp.

It's called the Wags Activity Book and is slightly smaller than a regular coloring book. The coupons are on a sheet at the front of the book. You might want to make sure that the coupons are in it before you buy it because I've seen several books with the coupon sheet missing. I found mine with the children's coloring books, but have also seen them in a display up front. It costs $.99. HTH.

I realized what happened and tried to return and rebuy it in order to get it to print. The manager who is usually there usually does not have any problem with this. The one filling in that night though told me that the reason only one prints out at a time is because the limit is 1 and that they are trying to crack down on this because otherwise couponers will just keep buying several of them. (I guess they don't want us buying their stuff?!) I told her that she was wrong about it being a limit of one and she said "well...it says manager have the right to limit quantities" Then she said she'd let me do it THIS time but it is supposed to be a limit of one....like she was doing me a huge favor by letting me buy two tubes of toothpaste!! :confused58: RRs aren't limit of 1 are they??? I think I messed up totally today
I went to Walgreen's #1 first (more in this later)
I wanted to do the puffs deal, so I bought 6 boxes of puffs with Vicks @2.39, one Wags colouring book .99, one box of Nyquil (need it for DS).
14.34 for Puffs 2.39 *6
.99 Colouring book
5.99 Nyquil
I had a 1.50 q for the Nyquil and the puffs were 3/5
so total paid was 16.28 and I received $10 RR
Then I thought I would do the triaminic deal and use my RR, well they kept having issues with my coupons and then couldn't put the RR, so I left a little annoyed. :shrug7:
next stop Walgreen's #2 and the lightbulb went off in my head, you have to use the RR before the other q's (I am a newbie ok?!!), so I got 2 packs of triaminic strips @ 2/10, one box of the Russell Stover chocolates for 3.99, one bottle of fructus waves for 3.49.
used my RR first, that worked, :BigHand:but they tried to tell me that I could not use the Wags's q (from the colouring book) and the IP q for the triaminic together, tried to argue that one was a store q and the other a manu q, but they would only take one q for each, because their machine kept beeping and the manager said you can't get it for free - what??? :hectic1:
So in the end I paid
10 for 2 triaminic
3.49 for the fructus
8.99 for the chocolate
less
10 RR
5 choc coupon from the flyer
1.00 choc q
1.00 fructus q
1.50 triaminic q IP
1.00 triaminic q from wags colouring book
total paid out was 2.81
then I went home and did the rebates and I should receive back $6 (triaminic), 3.49 (fructus) + 10%
So I paid out 6.28 and 2.81 and receive 10.44 in rebates, total oop was
-1.34 but it should have been more, now I am annoyed and think I will call customer service grrr.

The only limit is that only one RR per promotion will print per transaction. Each store manager has the right to limit quantities, this is true. Limiting to one per customer is a bit excessive, IMHO. I'd find a new store if that's an option. Sounds like that manager would rather keep products on the shelf that sell two to a customer. :rolleyes24:

I'm a little confused, but I'll try to answer what I *think* is your question. I've used the Triaminic IVC (in the activity book) and it doesn't scan correctly. The cashier has to manually enter the coupon amount and since it doesn't scan, they have to keep the coupon for the cash drawer, so that it will equal out at the end of the shift.
That being said, your cashier might have entered it manually as a MQ rather than a WAG Q and messed up your scenario, thus causing the RR/MQ to be over the # you could use in that transaction.
I hope that answers your question. If not, post again. :whistle67:

It sounds as if they're "counting" the IPs and the IVC (WAG Q) as MQs rather than one MQ and one WAG Q. The store manager at each store can make the coupon "policy" (for what it's worth) for his/her store.
CS will likely refer your complaint back to the store manager to resolve. I hope you have other stores in your area. It can be a pain sometimes, but WAG rocks most of the time. :wink7: I hope you get some answers for your area.

As Mikki stated, more than likely this will be turned over to the store manager, so I would suggest that you contact each store manager and explain to each what happened and ask what each one of their coupon policy is.

Can I use my the Walgreens giftcard that I got in the mail from doing the December Easy Saver Rebates towards purchasing prescription drugs? I know the one you get for transfering your script excludes prescriptions, but am not sure about the ESR one. Any help is appreciated.
If I understand correctly, you can use the card you get for transferring on prescriptions; just not on the prescription you're getting when you transfer. Once you walk out the door with it, it's like any WAGS gift card.

I do not think there is a restriction on your rebate gift card.

I have those Kellogs b1g1 FREE coupons, in couple of weeks they will have a good sale on these so I want to use these up. How many boxes are they letting me get with this deal?
Or do I have to come back in few times?

if you are talking about the 2/15 ad where they are 4/10 with a 3RR, purchase 4 at a time to make sure you get the RR, if you purchase more then 4 in a transaction you won't get but 1 RR.

I would reccommend the gift card to anyone as it is much faster. The first time I did a rebate I chose check to be mailed, it was lost and it took me 6 months to get my first rebate. The next time I chose gift card and I had it in about 2 weeks.

According to their store policy....Yes they do....but you will need to check with the store you shop at as the managers have a right to refuse these coupons...this is one of those YMMV.

you should be able to use both coupons. But some members have reported that their stores are not allowing it. I have no problem here at my store.

Okay - I have a really dumb question, which has probably been asked and answered a zillion times, but I tried to do a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. This is a major newbie Q but I have been around Wags a little bit - I've just never needed a raincheck, so I don't know how they work.
I read in the Wags FAQ forum that rainchecks never expire, etc.. but here is my question - FUSION RAZORS have been OOS around my house - if I get a raincheck - it is only on the Fusion sale price, not the RegisterReward benefit.. correct?
And if that is true - is it worth it for me to get a raincheck? Thank you in advance and I apologize if this has been asked and answered ad nauseum.

Is Walgreens RR program changing to not allow the use of Qs?
I was in Walgreens on Tuesday to put my RR from Sunday to use and noticed a small white typed note on the register on my way out. I was moving along since someone was behind me, but the gist of what I read quickly is:
Manufacturer Coupons can not be used with RR deals. If used the RR will not print. This was in the Cincy/Mason area.
Is this a new policy? I had done an RR deal on Sunday w/Qs at a different store and haven't gotten a chance to check there yet.

You are correct. However, sometimes the item is on sale during the RR promotion, so getting a raincheck will enable you to have the sale price (but not the RR) when the item is restocked.

We have not been notified of a change in policy. Many people (including cashiers and managers) have used this when a RR doesn't print, and believe that it's because a customer used a coupon. Coupons should not affect whether or not a RR prints.

Well went to one of my stores and was going to buy gas X thin strips on last chance sale... the cashier would not let me use a mfg Q. She called the manager and they confirmed it to her. She said I could not use a Q with a last chance sale item.......I went to another store and made the purchase.
I just know not to go to that cashier again! (she was already upset that I got 4 altoids for free)
I guess my question is, Is this really a Wagreens policy?

nope it isn't a Walgreens policy. It is a cashier and manager making up their own rules. I have never seen a mfg coupon that stated " can't be used on clearance items"

the items ring up the discount price. $5.00 rings $4.25, $6.99 rings up $5.94 and so on.
There is no difference in using RR or coupons with the discount.

Forgive me if this is a question that's already been asked, but my brain is swimming with info!
I think I remember reading somewhere that at Wags, the number of q's cannot exceed the number of items purchased, right? So if I want to buy an item and combine a MQ and an ESQ, then I have to buy the item and one filler, right?
So what happens when you buy multiple of the same item, using a MQ and an AD Q? Because don't you only have to use one AD Q to get the ad price on all items in your transaction?
Just making up a scenario here, to clarify, but say I want to buy toothpaste and use a $1/1 MQ, and a $1/1 AD Q. I have 5 MQs, I'll be using their AD Q, so I'm going to buy 5 toothpastes. Do I need 5 fillers, or just 1?

the number of items and coupons only apply to mfg coupons and RR. If you use a 7day coupon or a IVC you will only need one item for every 2 coupons( 1 coupon being a mfg and the other being a IVC/7day)
so on your toothpaste with a 7day coupon and mfg coupon.....no fillers needed

I have a question. The monthly coupon booklets that the store puts out. I know the coupons say one per item so do you all take a bunch at the beginning of the month. I was there yesterday I finally noticed them so I picked up three but I think that may not be enough to pick up next month.

I usually take 2 of the Easy Saver booklets, I use one to record my rebates and use the other one to do deals. You shouldnt need over the 3 you got as most stores just scan the coupons and do not have you tear them out.

Looks like a good scenario, however YMMV on using a the $4.00 mfg on the glade motion sensor along with a bogo. You should also get a 6.00 RR on the razor and $1 RR on the skintimate making it $7.00 in RR.
another thing to remember, do your mfg coupons first, and your IVC's last

75% off is the highest price corp send down, however a manager may elect to drop the price further to get rid of it

Hi,
I'm a newbie to couponing and Walgreens and I have a few questions.
1. ESR #35: Hershey's Get $5 when you spend $10 - I have a $1.50 off 3 bags coupon and this week, there are bags on sale 2/$5. If I buy 4/$10 - $1.50 coupon, will I still get the $5 rebate, or does the $10 have to be after coupons?
2. ESR #28: I bought 2 Glade Lasting Impressions kits and used a BOGO coupon. The ESR limit is 4. Will I receive the $3 rebate for both units, or only for the one I actually paid for?
3. ESR #1: Zucol Cold Care- I purchased for $7.99 - $2 coupon = $5.99. The ESR booklet says rebate is for "Up to $7.99." Will the rebate I receive be for the $5.99 that I paid OOP or for $7.99?
Thanks in advance for any help!

If you were using the RR and a MQ to purchase one item, you'd need a filler. RRs and considered MQs and you can only use one MQ per item. Grab a cheap/clearance item that has not MQ attached to it, and it should work, as long as your subtotal is over $3.00.

Q: Will more than one register rewards print out on the same transaction (buy 2 different products that each have a register reward)?
A: If you buy two (or more) DIFFERENT register rewards items in one transaction, one reward each will print. However, if you buy two of the SAME item, only one RR will print. Best to do separate transactions.
I don't understand why it's best to do seperate transactions....I am SOOO new to this! My head is spinning! If I purchase 2 different items that both get RR, it will print 2 different RR receipts, right? Why is this bad? I want to make sure I do this right!! TIA!!

I have never used RR before but I am going to do the diaper deal next week. My questions is can I use more than 1 register reward in the same transaction.
I want to do the huggies deal 3 times and then have 3 $10.00 RR....using Walgreens GCs each time.
Then I want to take the RR and in one transaction buy the FAR items for March (So I can put some money back on my GC). Can I do this?
Thanks a bunch for any help and I will rep you also:)

TIA!!
If you are purchasing two items from the same promotion (eg two Gamer razors), you will have to purchase them in two different transactions in order to get two RRs. RRs only print one per promotion, per transaction.

Using all three $10 RRs in one transaction *could* be a problem. Just ask the cashier prior to checking out if you can use all three in the same transaction. If you can't, just break the items into multiple transactions. You don't have to had all the rebate items on one receipt.

But one of the FAR is $19.99.....I would have to use 2 RR to get these free....what is your experience with using more than one RR in one transaction?

IF your store will allow you to use the two RRs in the same transaction, you will need a filler. You can use one MQ (which includes RRs) per item purchased. It all depends on whether your store manager allows two RRs per transaction. My local stores will usually allow it, but some members have posted that their stores only allow one per transaction. The subtotal has to be at least equal to the total value of the RRs, so you will have to spend at least $20 before tax.

I'm confused...again LOL In theory, when I go to purchase the Fructis deal, I have 10 $1 coupons. I need to cut out 10 easy saver coupons, and I can buy them all at once, or will I need to break them up/go to different stores? Do I give them both sets of coupons at once, or the easy saver first, or what? This will be my first stockpile purchase from Walgreens. TIA

Buy one get one free question. In this weeks ad on page 6 the bogo glade air freshener refills can be either lasting impressions or plug ins. I have a coupon for $1 off lasting impressions refill. I also have a get a free plug in warmer when I buy a refill. so can I buy on lasting impressions refil and one plug in refill use the $1 off and then use the coupon for the free warmer to? Hope that wasn't to confusing.

one IVC will take care of as many fructis that you purchase,. I would however break them into small orders so you will fly under the radar. Give the mfg first and the IVC last. Good Luck!

They will print, IF you use a RR from a different promotion (or manufacturer in the case of P&G, which usually excludes P&G products on their RR).

I know we cannot use RRs to purchase gift cards But my question is this: Is it considered spending it on a gift card if for instance if you buy x amount of products with x amount of coupons, including rrs, and maybe the RR was $10 and the product if covered was $2. Then you got a $10 gift certificate and paid the $8 difference all in one transaction. Is that considered using it on a gift card? Can it be done? It sure would be nice when we have money maker RR deals, but were running out of things to buy.

It's still considered using a RR to purchase a GC, even if it's only $2 out of $8 RR.

Yeah I've been finding that out. So this morning I'm having a conference with my self regarding what is worth it and what isn't. Is making $6.xx worth the time and stress, multiple transactons, multiple stores, for something I don't need, just to make $6.xx on the deal. I would wind up with $39 RR to spend in a limited amount of time. More stress! Do you think Walgreen's new system will be easier?

This is also a YMMV. My store allows the overage to be applied to other merchandise so I add a filler. Other stores will adjust a coupon down and recently I heard that corporate told another customer Walgreens is to adjust the item up to meet the value of the coupon not adjust the coupon. :hectic1:
My recommendation is to make sure you have enough items to absorb the overage and not say a word. If you do this and they get to your coupon and say they don't allow overage ask them to adjust the price of the item up and mention corporate policy and then have them void the filler if you don't want it. It should not take much more than a hop, skip and a jump if you have a great store. :wink7:

Most will do an exchange without a problem. They'll most likely refund and then you just buy what you need, unless it's the same product.

according to the terms on the RR's they state:
Total number of manufacturer coupons/register rewards cannot exceed the number of items in the transaction.
Manufacturer coupons only..........IVC's and 7 day coupons don't count
The register won't let 5 coupons/register rewards go thru with only 4 items
Hope that answers your question

How do Register Rewards affect your taxed items? Do they reduce the taxable amount at the time you buy the item that generates a RR, or do they reduce the taxable amount at the time you use them, or are they taxed like coupons. This would of course only apply to states that have sales tax.
Thanks

That depends on your state laws. However, I live in a state that taxes everything, and RRs/coupons do not affect the taxable amount at all. We have to pay taxes on the amount before coupons/RRs.

go to walgreens.com type in the item you are looking for, it will bring up a list of the items, find the one you want. Off to the right hand side of the screen it says add to cart, instock, check my store. click the check my store and follow it from there

rain check are good until you get the item however, it has been reported that some stores write a date on theirs and they are only good 30 days. you may want to check with your store to see what they say

Ok, I just tried the Huggies deal @ wags today and this is what happened.
I tried to buy 3 packs of Huggies (3 @ $10 = 30, need $25 for $10 of RR).
Had 3 q's ( 2 x $3, 1 - $1.50 = $7.50)
The q's put my 'bottom line' total below $25 and I did not receive the RR's.
Did wags do this correctly, does it have to be $25 AFTER q's?
They had to void it out and I had to buy 4 packs of Huggies to get my RR's.
If they did it wrong, what can I do? I was hoping to buy 3 packs of Huggies at a time and go back for 3 more w/my RR's.

What type of Huggies did you buy? How many per package? The RR should have printed after your transaction was completed, when purchased $25 before Qs. :shrug7:
Sometimes, people expect the RR to print when the item is scanned, but before the transaction is complete (before you pay), but that's not how it works.

Mikki, I bought the correct diapers, the cashier even double checked and said they were the ones that qualify for the $10 RR.
I paid (~$24 after q's, $30 before q's) and watched the RR machine, but nothing came out!
I only bought diapers trying to make the transaction less confusing, but spend 30 minutes in there while she checked on the RR's, refunded my order and i had to start over again.
When I bought 4 packs of diapers, the $10 of RR's came out after I paid.
Thanks for the quick reply~~I want to buy more diapers, what can I do to solve this problem?
