Is there a list of what P&G Items are? I"m trying to roll the $6 RR i got last week into the zantac and theraflu items this week and then hopefully a couple more razors.

Zantac is made by GlaxoSmithKline and Theraflu is made by Novartis, so you will be able to roll them all into each other.

Wikipedia has a list of all Proctor and Gamble Brands. Link. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Procter_%26_Gamble_brands)

Thanks for the help!! I have one more question though

Is this possible?

Transaction 1
3 Theraflu $3.99 each
14.97
-6.00 MQs
-6.00 RR
OOP $2.97 get back $8

Transaction 2
Zantac 150 $8.99
Gillette Fusion $8.99
17.98
-5.00 Zantac coupon
-4.00 Gillette coupon
Total 8.98 - 8.00 RR
OOP .98 get back 8.99 and 6.00 RR....(will these print seperate?) If they do, trans 3 and 4 might be possible....

Transaction 3
theraflu again, use $6 RR from Razor, get back $8 RR

Transaction 4
Zantac and Gillete again, use $8 RR from theraflu get back 14.99

Does this sound right? And do they let you do multiple transactions like this back to back? Thanks so much for the help!!

:wavehi: You will need fillers. You cannot have more coupons then items and RR are treated like coupons. Pencils, plastic tumblers, cheap candy are great fillers. Hope this helps......you are doing great!!!!!!!:BigHand:

Can you use that Walgreens "dollars" that you get when you get a prescription-the 3.00 off of 15.00, and then register rewards after that?

Can you use that Walgreens "dollars" that you get when you get a prescription-the 3.00 off of 15.00, and then register rewards after that?

you will have to look at the wording on the 3/15, if it says 3/15 after all applied discounts and coupons then no you can't use the RR to lower the cost. RR are considered coupons.

It all depends on the wording of that coupon.

the total after all applied discounts, coupons, RR has to be $15

if that wording isn't on that coupon, then yep you can

So I messed up a transaction in doing the RR's, so I want to return the item that generated the RR(the Vaseline lotion) and redo it. However my chapstick that generates RR is on the same receipt. If I return the 6.99 RR with the item, will it also void my RR given with chapstick that I want to use to rebuy the the vaseline?

Or should I just treat it as lesson learned and not deal with the hassle? I don't know how I'm going to roll these RR's. I don't really use Zantac but if I don't use the $5 printable I lose out on a deal, and I still don't have enough to use up both the RR's. I don't have any coupons like I used, but there used to be something at least each week that I wanted. :shrug7: Now I don't know what to do with it.

I just had a manager refuse my RR because it didn't have the red, informational print on the back. It was only a $3 RR (that expired today!) but he said that it was because people were copying them and using them over and over. Thankfully that was the only RR that I had without the red print, but I kept it and was wondering if anyone else has encountered this? What should I do because I have a legitimate RR that was refused by a manager? Thanks!!!

I also had one without the red printing and the cashier questioned it for the same reason but did it any way. While I knew that it was legit, the thought came to me that the other location may have put the wrong paper in the machine since I think the paper is preprinted with the info on the back. Fortunately, it was a recent RR and I still had the receipt for the purchase that produced the RR so I showed the cashier which made her feel better and able to let the manager know if it became an issue.

The other thought I had, if they didn't take it was to go back to where I got it to let them know it had caused a problem. Of course, that's if you know where it came from.

it depends on how the ads are put in the system. The stores don't put the ad prices in the office does. We unfortunately don't know how they will ring until someone reports back.

With this week's (months?) Almay foundation deal, I bought 2 of the foundations and got (1) $10 RR. Was I supposed to only get 1? I was thinking I should get 1 for each. Also, since I only got 1, I want to return the other one (unless the deal was 1 RR for buying 2). If I was indeed supposed to get another one, will this make returning it impossible (since I would need to return the RR if I had one...or can they tell that I didn't actually get one?) Hope this makes sense!

I went to Wags today to buy 4 packs of Huggies at $8.99 each using (1) $1.50/1, (3) $2/1, (1) Wags activity book $1/1- takes $1 off ea. pack and the Wags $5/25. I also threw in a greeting card and 3 candy bars for fillers.
The cashier took all of the q's except for the $1 coupon from the activity book. When I told her I could use it w/ manuf. q's she said the coupon policy has changed. She could only take 1 q for identical items and she was doing me a favor by taking all of my Huggies q's when they were for 4 identical packs of diapers. And the $5/25 q counted as the manuf q so I couldn't use the $1 ($4) Wags q...is that right??? I thought the machine wouldn't take that last cpn b/c I had too many q's compared to items purchased so I offered to buy more candy bars but the cashier said no that she couldn't take it. I wanted to speak to a mgr but the line was building behind me and there was a manager listening near by and he just walked off like he wasn't paying attention. I'm so aggravated...that was $4 I could've saved!

The deal is Buy one, get a $10 RR. However, if you bought both of them in the same transaction, only one RR will print. If you have a cool manager, perhaps you could explain to him/her what happened and return and rebuy the second one. :shrug7:

It is this way with all Wags RR deals. For example, if you buy six Lubriderms in one transaction this month, you will only get one $8 RR. If you do two transactions of three each, you will get two $8 RRs.

The policy has not changed per my store manager tonight who happily checked me out and let me use the Wags coupon on the Lubriderm and manu. coupons. You can use one Wags coupon and one manu. coupon per item.

However, the Wags Activity Book coupons all say "Off the regular price" on them. So, we can't use them on sale items, per the wording on the coupons.

well put Ty cbgo

Also folks remember..the 5/25 is AFTER all discounts, coupons.
I don't care how it works..........but if you post about using coupons wrong, or not per the wording on them.....you will get a little reminder from me or one of the other mods.
PLEASE read your coupons, it is not our job to make sure you use them right, that is your job, our job is to make sure you post using them correctly.

Hi, Everyone,

I need help to clarify whether I am allowed to use the coupons as with below cases

-- For one product, can I use both the coupon in the 7-day weekly paper (as with the Kleenex case, the coupon reads 1 85-ct box @$1.09) "and" another Walgreens IVC (as with the Kleenex case, the printed $1 off IVC)?

-- For one product, can I use both "any" IVC (printed or from the monthly book) which has worded "not valid with other offer" and "any" other coupon (walgreen 7-day ad, manufactory, etc)?

I have recently been denied of combining "any" coupon (manufactory or IVC or those in the 7-day ad) which has the restriction of "not valid with other offer" with any other types of coupon. And I would like to understand whether it is my fault or not

Thanks

Help!
Today I purchased 3 Lubriderm lotions, a bottle of the Robitussin To Go 2 Count, and some baby wipes. I used the Walgreens Lubriderm coupon and manufacturer coupons for the Lubriderm and the wipes (1 of each). Then I used a $10 Revlon RR to pay. I received the $8 Lubriderm RR, but no $2.50 Wyeth RR. I asked the manager and he said that the Robitussin was a weekly RR a while back. (basically he didn't know, but was very nice) So I came home and called the number on the back of my receipt. The lady was so snide, I couldn't believe it. First she told me that I couldn't use a coupon and receive a RR. I explained the policy as I understand it to her (you can't use the same man RR to earn another one) but that mine were different manu (Revlon vs. Wyeth). She had no idea and took down a message to have a senior personnel call me and then proceeded to tell me that I should learn to use the coupons if I would like to receive the RR. Ugh, how frustrating!!! Any advice? I'm not dying over the $2.50, but I'm wondering about policy now.

Sorry, I know this question has been asked before...but...

All you FL folks...can you buy milk with RRs? I've never tried it, because on my RR, the fine print says that dairy is excluded but I keep reading various coupon blogs of people here in FL who regularly purchase milk with RRs.

Is this up to each individual store/manager?

The Robitussin RR was cancelled. Stores got a notice to pull the RR tags. Obviously some stores didn't pull them.
I would take the item back and get a refund

I purchase the Robitussin recently as well and my store had not taken down the RR sign. I told the manager and he just gave me store credit for the $2.49. Didn't seem like he knew it had been cancelled. Neither did I...:shrug7:

I have a question/scenario I'd really like others' thoughts on: I bought a Bayer Breeze @ Walgreens yesterday and used the coupon from 10/25 RP (I think) and got it free. A $5 register reward printed out, as I had expected, but the cashier (a manager in fact) told me I couldn't get one because I had gotten the item for free. I KNOW this is absolutely incorrect or the darn thing wouldn't have printed! Should I call catalina marketing? I mean, this guy threw away MY coupon! Thanks. -Kory

How much does Walgreens policy vary from store to store?

Hubby & I went into Walgreens and grabbed the last two contour meters off the shelf (our only 2 for the week). We walked up to checkout with some other items. The cashier threw a fit! She said it says only 1 per person. We hadn't even put our items on the counter yet. I said we are each getting one. She said you can ONLY (she empashied it just like that) get ONE. I said right, he's getting one and I'm getting one. She said well that's two. I said we are each unique people, we are not one person. It says one per person not one per couple. She refused, and called over the manager. He even argued with us! Finally he said "just give it to them so that they leave." WTF? So we each did our 1 transaction and then I had a 3rd transaction that was just kotex and chocolate frosting (yea its that time LOL), then she said that yuo can not use RR the same day you get them!!! I know thats not true I have done it at that store before. So can they make up new rules as they go along and do all stores give customers such hard times? This store is usually good about limits. A few weeks ago when Froot loops was $1.75 a box they let me get 15 of them in one transaction! I just grabbed 4 but he saw my other coupons and told me to go ahead and grab more if I wanted. It was a different cashier and manager on that day though.

OK. Here is a new one for me. Have you all heard anything about this?

A cashier said the manager showed her a letter from corporate that said SOON a customer will ONLY be allowed to use a RR on an item that costs at least the amount of the RR. Example: An $8 RR could only be used if one of the items you are buying costs at least $8.00. I asked her if she saw this letter and she said yes and it would soon be implimented. (I did not believe her) But I kind of know her, so why would she make it up??? Anyone heard anything about this?

How does a return work when you want to return 1 of an item that you got for B1G1 50% off? I was nervous about not having a high enough total to use my $5/$25 last week and got some makeup that now I do not want b/c my total was way too high. I was thinking the retun would be easier if I just returned 1 b/c then it wouldn't take me below the $25 I needed for the Q. Make sense?

I had the same type of trouble at a local walgreens, I called Walgreens corporate, a day later the store mgr called and assured me that it would not happen again. A coupole of days later I received a RR from Catalina for my trouble. The word I got from Corporate was that if the RR prints it is yours no matterr what the clerck or the manager thinks. The registers are much smarter than the store associates.

In my store if a person returns something that was a buy one get the next one 50%off, we give them back 75% of the purchase price, because that is what the price is divided by the 2 items.

I don't believe so.. I think you just pay the price of the card.

only ones ya pay activation on are the visa/mastercard/american express cards.....the ones ya load cash on.

Coupon Question: A few weeks ago, when I purchased some things at Walgreens, the register printed this coupon (For a naturally beautiufl you! $3 off Almay). So, if I use it this week on an Almay Pureblends product, will it negate my RR? I know a regular coupon wouldn't (like from a coupon insert, etc) but I thought this coupon might trigger something in their computer since it printed from the Walgreens (Catalina?) machine. Thank you!

Yes you can use a RR to buy anything in the store other than the Items listed on the RR. I did not see phones on the RR.:wink7:

I have a different answer - my RR printed out with Idelle Labs for infusium 23 (for $5) that makes sense as the company Helen of Troy owns idelle labs and purchased infusium from P&G.

I think the J&J Cons is a $6 RR from purchasing the body wash. hth.

I'm sure this is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find in WAGS FAQ or Coupon FAQ. I have 2 coupons for the glade deal. So, I'd have (1) $3 Manuf. Q for each. If I have enough items to cover the overage will I get it or will I beep?

My experience is that it will beep if the sum of the MQ value exceeds the sum of the product prices they are attached to. So if you buy < $6 in glade products and try to use > $6 in glade MQs, the register will not allow the second $3 coupon. So the overage has to be in glade product for it to be permitted.

so did the 4 for $4 dollars in the 4 days sale transfer also to the regular sale of buy 1 Get 1 free? That would mean you could get 8 walgreens vitiams for $4. Is that correct? I am new to this and just trying to understand. Thank you:smile:

I don't believe the 4/4 are the same vitamins as the bogo ones.
The 4/4 are Walgreens Gold Seal brand, the bogo are Walgreen Finest brand. 2 different brands ( note the different packaging )

Not regional. I live in Missouri and got one.
After ours came in we put them in the book rack in the toy dept, or in the stationary dept, and other times no one knows where it goes so they end up in the stockroom.

I'm in So. Cal near Agoura. The nearest Walgreens are in Newbury Park and Moorpark which is about about 10+ miles away. I'd like to get the printed ad delivered to my house so that I can read through the ad and clip the in-store coupons.
How do all of you get your ad? Is is mailed to you? Do you get it in the newspaper? What day do you get it?

I've looked and looked for it and can't find it. I'm thinking since Walgreens isn't close by that I'm out of their mailing loop.

Any insight you can all give would be appreciated!

Shay I don't get it either because we don't have a Walgreens in my zip code. I just go to the store and get one since my closest store is only about 10 minutes away. I usually just look at the ad ahead of time here on HCW and then write down the ad-coupons that I want to clip out of the ad when I get it in the store.

They don't do a home mailing....sorry
If you know if you get the full ad or the short ad in your area....then the best way to see the ad early is to keep an eye out here.
After the ad breaks on sundays you can go to Welcome to Walgreens - Your Home for Prescriptions, Photos and Health Information (http://www.walgreens.com)
and look at the ad there for your area

I'm trying to figure out cheap fillers. If the Christmas Sacks are on sale for $1/8, will it count as 8 separate items on my receipt? I need to get the same items as mq, and rr's. My transaction would be this.

2 Triaminic This Strips $4/2 (with 2 MQ)
1 Stayfree Pads $0.99 (with 1 MQ)
1 Conair or Scunci Hair accessories $2
8 Gift sacks $1 (in ad q)

Using these rr's: $2-2, $1-1
Have:3 MQ, 1 in ad Q
Total q's: 7 q's
Items: 12
Final Total: 0.99, and tax

I have heard of it and in fact encountered it with the books they say manufacturer coupon in the fine print so I was not able to use the MFR coupon I had of my own. Would have used my coupon differently and not even bothered with theirs if I'd known that the wags q from the book was a MFR Q but had already been in the store too long and was ready to go!! I had an issue using Triaminic coupon form the Healthy savings booklet. At one store the coupon wouldn't scan, so I went to a different store, got two Triaminic and one Neutrogena face wash, and they scanned the booklet coupon and it took of $4 (2x$2) for two Triaminic products and when I handed them the manufacturer's coupons for Triaminic, one scanned fine and the other one bepped. The cashier told me that I had three manufacturer's coupons and three products and that they would not accept the second triaminic manufacturer coupon because it would mean that I am using 4 manufacturer coupons on three products.
When I got home I compared the coupons.
The Healthy savings booklet coupons (expiring 12/31/09) only have the amount, expiration date and bar code on them. The December coupon books "$160 saving inside" and Healthy savings coupon book "over $150 savings inside" have the amount, bar code and says "Limit one coupon per customer per offer. Expires 12/26/09. Manufacturer coupon good only at Walgreens. Not valid with any other offer. Customer pays any sales tax. Void if copied or where prohibited. Cash value 1/100c." So it looks like these coupons are manufacturer coupons.
I still don't understand why Triaminic coupon didn't work, since it had no restrictions and it was a Walgreens coupon.

I hope this helps.

I am having an issue with 2 wags stores near me. I use a lot of coupons and get back a lot of rr's so it seems lately like every time I go to the checkout a manager seems to appear and watch what I use. Now I never use anything incorrectly and always follow all the rules for amount of coupons and rr's for an order but in 1 store they suddenly have this rule which limits you to 1 rr per transaction which had a sign posted about it once and the next time there was none but they insisted it was still in effect. I had to have them void my order and rering it in several transactions to use the 1 rr for each and ended up spending more oop because I didn't have enough items without coupons to apply the rr to. the other store I was in at 11:30 pm and heard them say that the registers reset at 11:45 so I waited until 12:15 am to check out to give time for the rr machine to come back online. when I paid for the 1st item with my rr from the get $5.00 when you spend $25.00 deal the rr for my bath product didn't print. the manager went and checked to make sure there was an rr for it and then proceeded to tell me how I was supposed to wait until 1am to be sure things reset and how he had told me this before, ( he did not) and why was I using more than 1 tansaction. I pointed out that the rr said 1 per transaction from that promo and I had 2 of them. well, he gave me a $2.00 card credit but said when I shop there I have to use only 1 transaction!! ok so now in 1 store I have to split everything and in the other I have to combine everything. Is this fair? I never have this problem in the other wags in this area but these 2 are closest to my or my parents homes. Do I email corporate? please help. thanks for reading this. Donna

I had a similar problem a while back with different policies in force at different stores. I had three different stores with three different policies. :shrug7: Wags corp policy is that the store managers can set limits, etc. So, if you call corp they will simply refer the call to the store manager. It is best to at least try to resolve this at the store level first if at all possible.

I just did my best to be calm and to roll with it. I did speak the the store manager at one store to have the policy at his store clarified because it was changing at every trip for awhile. Two of the stores have now gone back to their old, good ways and one will always be a bit tricky, but is at least consistent.

Personally, whenever I have a store manager check me out, I see it as an opportunity to show him/her that the deals that I am doing are legit. I chat with them and try to be as friendly as possible.

Also, the stores really don't know exactly when the cat machines will reset, so those midnight trips can be risky in terms of whether the RRs print out or not.

:thanks7:Thanks for the reply. I do not mind following whatever policy a store has as long as it is applied to everyone but the "you have to use only 1 transaction when you shop here because you usually use multiple ones" was aimed personally at me. I don't see why breaking up your transactions into 2 or occasionally 3 because their rr's do not work otherwise was wrong. Just do not like being singled out as though I were trying to be dishonest. I have never complained or gotten upset and always do exactly as they ask. A while back when I had a problem with a manager constantly commenting on my coupons, rrs or just watching everything I bought, I did email corporate and they said you should be able to use several rrs in 1 transaction but if they choose to limit it to just break up the order into several transactions.I will stick to the stores where everyone is always really nice and helpful and never have any issues with anything from now on. Life just doesn't need to be filled with any unnecessary hassles lol. thanks again, Donna:hectic1:

It depends on your store. It's very YMMV. At my stores it's a big fat NO, but other people's stores are fine with it.

According to this weeks ad, there is a video camera for $99.00 but only availabe online. In the ad it says that you can order at the store. So does that mean I can use RR's to pay for it at the store? My store carries little mints for 5 cents each. So if I buy 20 mints, can I buy the camera using 20 $5 RR's? (My store allows as many RR's as you have items) That would be SOO great!

Ok....do I have this right??

I can purchase 3 ECB products in one transaction at CVS and get 3 ECB's....but I can't buy 3 (same) RR items at Walgreen's in the same transaction and get 3 RR's??

Here's an example if that didn't make sense....

I can buy 3 Oust at CVS in one transaction and get the $3 each ECB's back ($9 total)...but if I buy 3 Electrasols at Walgreen's in the same transaction, I only get 1 RR ?

Hope this question makes sense....I'm still learning.

Right. The only exception to this would be if the RR item has a limit of more than one (which is almost never).

In a thread for an upcoming ad (I think starting 1/17/10) someone mentions a deal using a Lean Cuisine coupon from Target.com. Thanks!even if it does not say store or mfr coupon, Target web coupons are store coupons for redemption at Target. If there are stores that take competitor Qs, they may take this BUT WAG does not take competitor Qs, therefore they will not accept this since it will NOT scan at the register.

My question: somewhere I saw that on coupons.com there is a $2.00/1 q for Johnson's Baby lotion (or wash or shampoo) - are we allowed to ask if anyone knows which zip code was used to find that? It is not in my zip code.

You were misinformed by someone. I suggest you call the store and speak to the Manager to verify. Or you can email Walgreens customer service to get your answer. Most of the peolpe that Wag do in fact roll rr from one manf. brand to another to get free product ...and to keep or produce more RR's.

I personally don't know of a written policy about it. A Mod may be able to direct you on that.

Good Luck!

Yep, you were misinformed. The best bet is to talk to you store manager. If you can't get it resolved, call corp. or email from their site. If you just call corp. without talking to the store manager they simply refer the call to the store manager, so it is best to start with him/her.

There is no written policy as far as I know. But, there is no written policy that excludes being able to use them, either.

I am curious, who told you this? Was it the store manager, cashier or an assistant manager? If it was anyone but the store manger, then you need to talk to them. If it was the store manager, then I would call corp.

6.29+6.29=12.58-6.29-6.00= .29for2
But i was told store coupon first then the manf. so it went like this
6.29+6.29=12.58-6.00-3.29= 3.39for2
The manager came over and took a calculator out and told me since I was only paying 6.58 for two he would only give me 3.39 off for the free one.:confused58:
I didn't buy them. This is the first and only time I've heard this before.

You should not have to hand over the IVC once it is scanned. It does not need to go in their drawer. I used the same Wags coupon book for a month and never handed over the IVC to the cashier. They just scanned it and I put it back into my purse. So, as long as you have one of the IVCs, you should be good.

giving just the code is against HCW policy to be discussed.

Some codes are only good for specific areas/grand openings etc.

Hope this helps elaborate. CBGO is right also, you shouldnt have to hand over the physical IVC

Last week I went in to one of my local Walgreens to purchase seveal items some of which were the Reach toothbrushes in the store ad there was a 2.00 off coupon also. I had some of the manu. cpns that were B1G1 the cashier which happened to be one of the managers ring all my items up took all my cpns. But when I gave him the Walgreens 2 off cpn. he said he was going to re-ring my whole transaction to price modify the toothbrushes at 2 off which he called the "sale price". Him doing this made me pay for an item I normally would get free with coupons. I total him to just take the toothbrushes back I wasn't going to let him cheat me out of my money. I wrote CS about this problem with no response then three days later I went into the same store again I was purchasing 1 -Bayer Contour and 1 Bayer Breeze2 using coupons. The cashier didn't know how to take the coupons so he called the manger it was the same one and he refused to let me purchase both meters. I emailed CS again and still have not heard anything back. How long should I wait? And is there anything I can do next?

unfortunately when you email CS they send a email to the store. The store then inturn is suppose to contact the customer and handle the complaint/praise. After so many days the store gets a second notification, and then a third. I am wondering ( since it was a manager who checked you out ) if they just marked it done. You could call the district office...and maybe the DM will get involved. But again unfortunately since there is no hard core coupon policy........each Walgreen Store can make up their own coupon policy.....like some will take 2 coupons on a bogo......while some won't.
IMO I would chalk it up to finding out your stores coupon friendliness, Not really sure they will do anything for ya since they haven't contacted ya yet, and again since each store pretty well makes up their coupon policy....they still might not do anything for ya if they do contact you.

You could certainly call corp and let them know that you have not heard back from your store and see what they will help you do next. But, like irishlass says, sometimes no matter what you do, a store is just not going to be coupon friendly. If you have other Wags in your area that are coupon friendly, I would spend your money with them.

It's been a while since I've shopped Wags so I wanted to run this transaction by the pros.

1 Bayer Breeze 2
1 Bayer Contour
2 Quaker Oats (in ad)
3 Kleenex (in ad)

Have: 2 meter q's
2 Quaker IP's
1 Kleenex q (50 c off 3)
and then the Kleenex and Quaker in ad q's.

so 7 coupons all together and 7 items so I don't need a filler right? And I should get back $13 in RR?

You should be good. The Walgreens coupons do not count towards your coupon total, so you only have 5 coupons that count. However, the manufacturer coupons that are off multiple items, $/2, $/3 etc., like your Kleenex coupon sometimes attach to all three items, so if you decided to use a RR, you might need a filler. Also, make sure that you give your manufacturer coupons first.

Yes, you should get back $13 RR.

Best thing to do it-

Become a trader here at HCW. Trade for the coupons you need. (sign up to be a TNT Trader in Training!)

Sounds like a district, if not store issue. Corporate is not in the business of sending out memos that will hurt their bottom line, especially since you're doing nothing wrong in using these coupons. Speak with the store manager, then the District Manager (listed in the local phone book under WAG) and if that doesn't work, you can call Corporate and have them contact the store and clarify the issue.
If you live in a state that requires a prescription to purchase meters, then you'll have an issue. Otherwise, you shouldn't. Did your coupon have that wording (that you need a prescription)?

The coupon said "offer is for people with diabetes". However, it was in the Sunday newspaper not from a doctor's office or pharmacy.

I tried to dig the RR FAQ link posted in the very beginning of this thread...still i couldn't find the answer i'm looking for. I'm not sure if its not really posted there, because i'm just too sleepy :rolleyes24:

Anyway, here's my dilemma...

On my 1st transaction, i'm going to purchase product X that generates RR. THen on my 2nd transaction, Im planning to purchase a group of items that includes product Y that will generate RR as well.
My question is... Will RR from product Y be printed out even if I used RR from my 1st transaction that was generated from products X?
I learned that they call this "rolling RR"..so how will I know if what I got from a certain item is a rolling RR?

I know that some are doing this already.. i really haven't try it yet but I want to gain confidence on doing this kind of transactions as I know it will give me more savings.
THis is the only Q&A i found from the link I mentioned above...

Q: If I use an RR generated from product X and buy another of product X will another RR print?
A: BEWARE! This is known as rolling RRs. Many times the register will not print an RR for product X if an RR generated from product X was used to pay for that transaction. So a BIG YMMV. If you find that an RR is or is not rolling, post in the forum for others benefit/awareness.

I will really appreciate any input regarding this matter ...

Thanks in advance! :wink7:

I think that you have the basic concept right. :BigHand: To be honest, the X and Y discussions can sometimes be confusing.

So, this week, for example. You can do the deal on the monitor coupons and get 2 $5 RRs and a $3. You could then use them towards the buy $20 get $10 RR Pepsi deal. You could then use the Pepsi RR in a transaction that included the monitors and get the monitor RRs. That would be considered "rolling" your RRs. That is, using a RR to get another RR.

If you tried to use the Pepsi RR to get more Pepsi, the RR would not print, because it is the same deal. Rarely, you can use a RR on the same deal and it will print. If that happens, someone will probably post a thread stating that "X RR is rolling." It is best to assume that they do not roll because that almost never happens.

Sometimes, a different product can be part of the same deal and won't print if you use a RR for one product to buy another. Those deals are usually in a box in the ad grouped together.

Since this RR can be a bit confusing until you get the hang of it, I would suggest that you post the transactions that you want to do in the weekly thread and ask people to look over them. HCW people are the most helpful people that I have ever "met". :giggle2: Someone will be sure to let you know if the deals will work or not. Lots of times that happens and someone will find a way to help you by posting a way to do it even cheaper.

One last thing, Proctor and Gamble RRs have special wording on them that state that they cannot be used on P&G products. So, you can't post about doing that here. They are the only RRs that have that wording.

Hope that I didn't confuse you more. :giggle2:

Thank you so much. I guess i really have to start making a new plan that will somehow roll over RRs..
I used to shop in Walgreens in Arizona, unfortunately our local store there in Prescott Valley is very strict with the usage of RR. I tried to roll over RR once but it didnt give me the new RR. I just hope I'm wrong in setting the items in my transactions. though I asked the store manager, she told me that once a RR is being used in a transaction with an item (w/ RR deal) automatically their system will give out a new RR..

We're now here in California & i cant wait to try rolling my RR.. I'm so jealous in the Walgreens deals i'm seeing here in HCW

If you mean the $5 RR wyb 2 rolaids deal - that was a monthly deal. I thought it was for December, but it could have been November. Sorry I don't have a receipt with an exact date.

I'm looking but haven't found yet. WAGs coupon official policy. I'm new to shopping there on a regular basis. The cashier today said they didn't take IPs. I was trying to use 2 Stayfree IPs w. 2 BOGOs. So because the line was backing up I had him take out my All because it was going to mess up my totals. I'd like to go back there with my receipt and have them take them off the total. KWIM? I'm pretty sure I used IPs there last week. Do they take IPs? And would you go back?

The frustrating thing about WAG is that they have no official coupon policy. Each store manager is allowed to set the "rules" for his/her store. Your best bet is to speak with the store manager and if you can't get assistance there, speak with the district manager. Some stores allow IPs and some don't. Some allow 2 Qs for BOGO sales, some don't.

Help! Need to know about paying w/ RR's...

Here's my scenario:
Transaction #1: I purchase item X and it gives me $5RR.
Transaction #2: I purchase the SAME item X and it gives me $5RR

Transaction #3: I purchase a $4 item and a $6 item... Can I now use BOTH of the RR's I've received to pay for this transaction?

I know if I was buying 2 of X in one transaction, I would only EARN one RR, but can you only spend them that way too? I can't find that addressed anywhere... I've got a bunch of meter Q's, so I was hoping to buy several in separate transactions, but then spend them all at once in one big transaction...

Am I making sense? New to Wags... Have CVS down, but trying to expand :) Thanks!!

RRs don't roll at WAG, except in very rare instances. So, you can't use a RR from any promotion to purchase items from the same promotion and get another RR.
Using more than one RR per transaction is YMMV. Some stores won't allow it because they misunderstand the one per transaction wording in the ad. All it really means is that only one RR will print for each promotion per transaction. HTH.

Hi... thanks for the reply.. that's not exactly what I'm asking... I don't want to roll in the same RR promotion... week of 1/31, I want to buy 3 meters in SEPARATE transactions... get 3 x 10 RR's...then I want to use all 30 in RR in one transaction to buy lots of other stuff, some that generate RR's...but no other meters included in my $30 transaction... Can I do that? Can I spend the 30 RR in one transaction, even though they were all generated from the same original product in separate transactions?

Mikki 316

Yes, you can do that. As long as your store will allow you to use all three RRs in the same transaction. The register will allow it, it's the store's issue of not allowing it IF they won't. If they won't allow it, just stand there and break up your items into three transactions and make people wait. LOL. Maybe they'll get the idea soon enough, and let you do it in one transaction.

I had that same problem as well. The Walgreen's near my house takes ip's if I'm not mistaken. I went to one close to my fiance's school today and they don't take them. It's frustrating that some stores don't treat ip's like the inserts. I believe every store needs to treat ip's like inserts since companies like smart source offer inserts and online. Just my opinion.

Most of my stores take ips, but Mikki is right. It is up to each store and store manager to decide. I would go in and talk to the manager rather than the cashier and see what the manager says. If it is still a no go, at least you know the policy for that store and can hopefully find a store that does take them.

Why do I feel like I am robbing Walgreens by gun point everytime I go in there trying to use their register rewards and coupons? I always have an issue. Please help me understand. Okay this is what I did today. Walgreens #1 - bought two bottles of Pert. The ad states 2/$5 = $2 RR = 2/$3. I brought in two MF coupons for $1.50 off each bottle. The girl only took off one coupon. She said I'm sorry, you can use your coupon another day. AHH....NO. I want the $1.50 off now. So Mr. Manager ended up giving me back $1.50. Smart cashier ripped up the $2 RR - I was like ahh....no. That is the deal, I get $2 RR. So Mr. Manager had to ring a fake transition to get the $2 RR. Left that store with my $1.50 cash and $2 RR. Went to Walgreens #2 and this is where I need help. I bought 5 bags of Chex Mix. On sale for $.99. I had my $2 RR; 1 MF $.50 off one and 2 MF $50 of two. Should have been $.99 x 5 = $4.95 - $2 RR and $1.50 for my MF. Cashier rang up the MF first and then the computer would not take the $2 RR. She tried to hand it back to me I was like no I rather have back my $.50 and you use the $2 RR and she did. I got a great deal but where did I go wrong. How does the RR work, I had 3MF 1RR and 5 items.. Please help me. Thanks. ~michelle

I think the issue was that the $.50/2 coupons attached to each of the 2 items. Wags changed the registers a few months ago and now the $.xx/2 coupons attach to both items and not just one as in the past. If you'd had a filler you'd have been ok. The register was treating the transaction like you were trying to use 6 coupons on 5 items.

I'm new to this ... I wonder if this scenario would work .....

transaction 1: buy 6 pepsi 12 packs (3/10) = $20, get $10 RR

transaction 2: buy 3 huggies little movers 8.99x3= 26.97
- 6 mq
- 10 RR (from pepsi)
total: 10.97, get $ 5 RR, so 2.97 for 3 pkg huggies
(therefore 15.97 for 6 pepsi + 3 huggies)

What coupons are you using? You can use one MQ per item purchased. RRs are counted as MQs. So, if you're using 3 2/1 Huggies Qs, you'll need a filler to use the RR.

joshmamabear
01-28-2010, 03:28:58 PM
I'm not sure if all WAG registers process x/2 or x/3 coupons the same way. at ours, as long as I give them last (like the $1.25/3 jello MQ), they attach to just 1 item so I can use 2 RRs to pay for my balance in my transaction w/o having to buy fillers.

I make sure to have fillers handy in case my RRs won't go through or register prompts, 'coupons exceed the amount of items'. that is the only time I add the fillers to my transaction.

one just have to observe carefully how their registers work. I don't buy unnecessary fillers if I have coupons that is good for more than one of the items I'm buying.

WAG can't force a RR to print once the promotion is over. So, in my experience, RCs don't include the RR amount. YMMV, though, as you *might* luck out and get someone to write it differently. However, generally speaking, it is not WAG policy to issue a RC to include the RR amoun. HTH.

ITA with Mikki. I have one store here in my area that will issue a RC for the sale price less the face value of the RR. The others will only issue sale priced rain checks only. Guess which store I get RCs at?? :wink7:

So.... It's probably listed somewhere here in the thread but after searching for 2 seconds I decided to post anyway...

Do RR count as coupons? Because the cashier today said that using coupons on the items and then using RR wouldn't go through because the total exceeded the items. My husband was doing the deal and got confused. I'm thinking she meant he needed fillers so that # items purchased = #coupons used.

I'm settling back into my couponing throne after about a year of taking a break, so am not on top of what rules still stand and which have changed. :)

Mikki 316

RRs count as MQs, so you will need filler items so that your coupon count is = to the number of items you're purchasing. IVC or 7 day (in ad) Qs don't count in the register logic. However, there have been some new programming issues recently with some IVCs and they sometimes require fillers when trying to stack with MQs.

Apologies if this has already been answered, but my head hurts and I don't feel like reading through 24 pages.

I know they can adjust MQs. I got some Root Awakening on clearance with a $5/2, and the total cost was less than $5 so the cashier put the Q amount as whatever it was (can't remember right now).

While I was there tonight I wanted to get the Vitamin Water lip balm for $1.99. I used a $2 RR I had just gotten from the Club crackers and the cashier said "I can't take this, it's for more than the item." I told her to adjust the amount of the Q and she said "I can't do that."

Can RRs not be adjusted? I figured they could because they're MQs. Or is it possible she just didn't know what she was talking about? Should I just have gotten a filler and tried it that way? As it is I just had her void the transaction.

Some stores will adjust and some won't. One of managers will adjust a regular manufacturer coupon but will not adjust a RR. So, in your case, I agree with Manders that you should get a small filler. HTH

They count as store coupons. However, there are times when they are programmed funny and you'll need to throw in a filler item to use both a MQ and an IVC/booklet Q. So, if you have problems, just throw in a filler and it should work just fine.

Most likely...but occasionally a manu coupon is coded to count the nabisco/coke as one. (or basically the coupon is being counted twice)...so grab 4 tiny fillers just in case:wink7:.

OK I have been couponing heavly for two years.....thanks to the help of everybody here. Last night I went to my closest Walgreens (30 minutes away) and did two transactions. Like I do everyweek i turned around and and used my register rewards on the second transaction. None of my RR would scan (i had the appropriate fillers). Long story short they called a manager and the manager said it was because they weren't meant to be used back to back. I explained to him nicely that I live too far away to come more then once a week and have been doing this for two years. He was very nice, but continued to say that RR aren't meant to be used back to back. I have never had any problems at the Walgreens I shop at and therefore I became worried that I could be wrong. I have used RR back to back before, but instantly became worried. Especially since I have been teaching coupon classes in my small town. Please someone tell me that I am not wrong. It has nothing to do with using them back to back. This happened a couple weeks ago to me. I received RR one day then went to another store a few days later and RR wouldn't scan, cashier said it's because of low ink in the printer and the coupon is then faint and scanner can't pick it up. HTH

I have had that problem when the RR was printed on a machine that was running out of ink. The cashier can key it in as a manufacturer coupon and it should work just fine.

Some stores do limit you to using the RR on your next visit. They have the right to make that decision per corp., but there is nothing against Wags policy in using it the same trip.

Sorry you had a problem with it scanning. :(

had the not scan thing happen to me. It was due to the ink being light on them. I made a comment the ink needed changed it seemed (insert giggle) and she said "nah we just changed it at every register but for some reason they are printing lightly". I went to use one on my next transaction and it wouldn't scan she entered the numbers manually no problem. New to Walgreens, but not new to couponing....Ran into a snag the second time I tried to do a deal there...

I had, say, 4 items. Each item had a coupon and I had a RR (for a total of 5 "coupon-types". When the cashier tried to ring me out, the last coupon beeped at her. She said I could not have more coupons than items. Is that true?
I had to throw in some BOGO bubble gum (not that the kids minded! LOL) but it was $ I was not planning on spending.

Is this typical to Walgreens? TIA!

That's kind of a difficult one to answser without knowing what you're buying- is it a Mega Saver item or a sale using an in-ad coupon? IF it's Mega Saver, those ring up weird. But if it's using an in-ad coupon, they should all be 3.33 after Q. Come to think of it, the only time I can think of that it won't be 3.33 each is if the item is on Mega Saver.

It's the head and shoulders, herbal essences, aussie or pantene hair care on the back of the circular that say 3/10 in the yellow circle. I wanted to use my Q for buy 1 herbal essence get 1 styling product free since I'm in need of hairspray anyways. They should ring up 3.34, 3.33 and 3.33. So, you shouldn't have a problem on "regular" sale items.

In order to use the check, you need $25 after Qs/RRs are redeemed. IIRC, they won't give you cash back. But, you should be able to purchase items that generate RRs in the transaction. HTH.

IF your store has a military discount day, they require your military ID and give you the employee discount, basically. You will have to check out at Photo or Cosmetics (depending on the store) and you will get 15% off your order.
Not all stores have this program, so ask at your store to be sure.

usually its best to give MC first.

Not all stores will allow it.

If I bought an item at Walgreens using their in-ad coupon, will they return the amount after the coupon?

The item I bought is still in its original package, but I realized I don't like it. I used Walgreen's in ad coupon too. Now I want to return it, but I'm curious if they're going to return the full price or the after-coupon price. Btw, I still have the receipt.

Oh, thanks! What about if you use a manufacturer's coupon?

Be really careful about returns when using coupons. Many stores are suspicious about returns anyway, but especially when coupons are used. There's alot of dishonest people out there who make it difficult for honest couponers. So, don't make a habit out of returning things. If you got the item for free or close with coupons, your best bet is to give it to someone who can use it rather than drawing negative attention to yourself at your store. A good rapport with your store's staff is worth much more than a few cents, in my opinion.

Oh, thanks! What about if you use a manufacturer's coupon?

Different stores handle this in different ways. Some stores will give you the price you paid after coupons, some the full price of the item after any Wags coupon and some will give you the full price on a Walgreens gift card.

I agree with Mikki about minimizing returns. It can really raise the suspicions of the store management. While the store has to follow corp. policy on returns, it is helpful to have a good relationship with your store. Lots of returns can make it more difficult to do the deals that you want to do.

Using a manuf. q and a "booklet" (IVC?) q? I know I can use a q from the weekly ad and a manuf. q with no problem. However, I was wondering about the ones in the month "booklets" (the IVC ones, I guess is the correct term here). I noticed in the find print they are deemed manuf. q's. So for example, can I use the $1.50/1 Simply Sleep item in the March booklet with an IP for Simply Sleep together, even though they both say manuf. q's in the print? Thank you.

Walgreens allows one manufacturer coupon + one Walgreens (IVC) coupon per item purchased. So, yes, you can use an IVC + the IP together.

RAINCHECK QUESTION:

I know this may be ymmv but I want a heads up so am asking before I go in. I have a raincheck for 10 of the keebler club crackers that were 2/5 and get 2RR wyb 2 back in the first week of Feb.
The cashier who wrote my RC wrote in 2/3 and I noticed on the black and white "Over $20 in coupon savings" in store Wags q page (I don't know what the abbrev for this is) there is a q for 2/2 Keebler or Cheezit wyb 2.

So my question is: Can I combine a raincheck, with mfr q's (the Parade 1/1's that exp 3/17) AND the WAGS q?

Raincheck price: 2/3.00 x 10 = 15.00
- (10) 1/1 = 5.00
- 2/2 Wags q (x 5 = 10.00)= overage of 5.00???

Will this work or will it raise suspicion? Or is it even okay to use together (fine print on the wags q says not valid with any other offer... so is a RC considered another offer)?

Also, do you tell your cashier that you will be using a raincheck in combination with coupons so that they know ahead of time? TIA (I'm starting to get better about getting RC when a store is oos but am not very experienced in redeeming them).

Mikki 316
03-07-2010, 12:21:14 PM
tranquilmama, you should let the cashier know up front that you have a RC, because she will have to price modify each pkg as she rings them up. As for the MQ, those are given after she hits subtotal, then give her the IVC (WAG Q). As you stated, this is YMMV, but there is nothing "wrong" with using both Qs with the RC. Just be sure you have $5.oo+ worth of merchandise for the overage.
ERA: the RC isn't "another offer" but some stores still view the IVC and MQ as two "offers."

RR, Manf, 7 day/IVC

Reasoning:
*RR- many times these are higher value than MQs, so you need to use them first to make sure they scan and MQ/IVC/7day will reduce the subtotal amount which could prevent being able to use the RR

*MQ- IF overage is a possibility when stacking with a WAG Q, you always want to use the MQ first, or it will beep in overage situations

*7 day/IVC-use these last. I have seen them (IVC) auto-adjust once or twice, but usually we're able to get overage. They won't beep unless they're programmed weird, so sometimes you have to use fillers to stack MQ + IVC. Also, having a 7 day and an IVC for the same product doesn't happen very often, but use all WAG Qs last. Some cashiers insist on scanning these first, so beware and have fillers handy if your store does this.

Those coupons usually do not scan, but the cashier can manually enter in the numbers like they can for regular manufacturer coupons and it will work.

Something must have been wrong with the Catalina machine (off line, out of paper, paper jam?). If coupons caused RRs not to print, we (HCW members) certainly wouldn't get so excited about RR promotions.

Hi everyone,
I don't shop at Walgreens very often and yesterday (03/25) came across the situation that I might need some guidance on:

I did the Kimberly Clark deal where you get 5RR with purchase of 3 selected items. So I got Kotex and got my 5RR. It was my intention to do the second transaction by purchasing Huggies diapers and using both 5RR and 3off manuf cpn. However, the register said that it cant take both cpns, because 5 RR are well, compliments of Kimberly Clark and 3 off cpn comes from KimbClark too. Anyway, since there was no disclaimer anywhere, do you think it's worth fighting over? I was really lookin forward to a 99cent pack of Huggies.... Did something similar ever happened to you and how did you deal with it?

It's not worth fighting over because it's Walgreens policy. RR are manufacturer coupons and you can't use two coupons on one item. With Walgreens, you must use the same number of coupons to items OR less coupons than you have items.

Will not work: 2 coupons, one item
Will work: 2 coupons, two items (or more)

Also, the Walgreens store coupons from the IVC book and the in-ad coupons do not count in the coupon total.

At Walgreens, you would need to buy a "filler". You cannot have more coupons than you have products - and your RR counts as a coupon. So, if you were buying 3pkg of Huggies and using 3 Huggies coupons and 1 RR, you would need a cheap filler (ie: 1 pencil or 1 candy bar, etc) in order to use that 4th coupon (the RR).

On another note, generally, you cannot use a RR from the same company to buy another RR deal from the same company and get back the RR. I'm not sure about the Kotex deal 'cause I didn't do it...but assuming it's that way, if you bought your filler and paid for the Huggies using the Kotex RR another RR from Huggies would not print because Kotex and Huggies are both Kimberly Clark.

Mikki 316
03-26-2010, 09:09:51 AM
Huggies and Kotex are in the same RR promotion. IF you use the Kotex RR to buy Huggies, you won't get another RR to print.

As stated, you would need a filler item (not attached to a MQ/RR) in order to use your RR + coupons.

I've never had a problem doing that with a coupon and formula check in the same transaction, because the formula check gets rung in as a check payment.

This probably is more of a general coupon question, but sinse I had the problem at wags, might as well ask it here! Hello,

I've searched for an answer to my question for a couple days with no luck.

I used to get the greatest deals at Walgreens but I was out of couponing for a couple years. Last year I started again but my sales are now different from the rest of the country. I emailed the company and they said I'm in a test market here in Colorado. Our weekly ads have fewer pages than those posted.

Have any of you run into this?

Thanks,

Hi, Dana. Welcome to HCW. Yes, there are two different ads each week. Apparently, you are in a small ad area. The ads only have about 8 pages, and you will not get all the sales that are generally posted here. Keep an eye on the ad previews on the WAG website, usually on Thursday or Friday of each week and check your zip code ad. Also, we occasionally have a member post info from the smaller ad, and will let other members know if something is or isn't in their ad. The ad previews that we post are usually from the larger ad areas.

I suppose if there's no wording on the coupon restricting it, then it's not fraud.

As long as they were for three different promotions. I made the mistake (once! LOL) of calling about multiple of the same RR and was given the "limit 1" mess. So now, if I have to call/e-mail, I do each one separately if they are the same promo.
