This is not necessarily a Walgreens question, but since I spend most of my time here and will use these coupons there, this is where I thought I would post.

I have a buy any Glade scented oil candles refill pack and get a scented oil candles tin holder free (up to $3.99) coupon from an insert and a

Today I went to Walgreens for the Conagra Deal. I bought 2 healthy choice frozen dinners, 3 hunts puddings, and 1 healthy choice mixer. I had $1/3 q for the pudding, $1/2 q for the frozen dinners & $1/1 q for the h.c. mixer and I wanted to use a $5 RR and a $2.50 RR. 6 items & 5 coupons - should have been okay but she did my RR's last and they both beeped. The cashier tried them twice and then said she thought it was because my coupons were somehow making my 3 puddings count as 1 item and my 2 frozen dinners as 1 item. There was no one else in the store so I went back and grabbed two pocket tissues (.29 ea. one of my favorite fillers) - she added them to my order and then the RR's both went through. Has anyone else had this problem with coupon #'s and item #'s? Or have another explanation for why this didn't work until I added two more items?

the 1/3 coupon attaches itself to 3 items, the 1/2 attaches itself to 2 items. your coupons counted for 6 items which is what you had. The RR went thru after you added the tissues because the coupon count and item count were the same.
Anytime a x/3 or x/2 coupon is used it attaches itself to that many items

So I saw that pepsi products will be 5/$12 or buy 4 get the 5th free in the preview of 5/10/09. I have a coupon of buy 3 get 1 free. Can I use this along with the in store ad to get the 4th free as well?

Confused? Me too. :rolleyes24:

Yeah the Pepsi q and also the q's in that pink revlon book I'd posted about are the ones I'm talking about. They're listed as "Walgreens Instant Value Coupons". I know the Pepsi one says "not valid with any other offer"...that's why I asked.

I have close to 20 WG in a reasonable distance from my home & work. I only have trouble with the closest that they refuse to take 2 RR's as payment for the same transaction. So I have to break it up into 4 or 5 transactions. I only spend a few cents more out of pocket, but it holds everyone up and I feel weird. The manager has flat out told me if I use more than one RR in a transaction it is coupon fraud. I understand coupon logic so I know it will take say a $2 RR and a $4.50 in the same transaction as long as I have 2 non-coupon items.

My questions are:
What effect does negative survey responses have on store operations?
Does WG care about ADS (average dollar sale)?
What about UPT (units per transaction)?

Making me do more transactions is just counterproductive for everyone.

I have a question that i cannot seem to figure out. I got the free coupon book for asking about the Rx Plan. I have been using it for some time for the $2 off Walgreens Pullups. I have aloways used it and then was given the coupon back b/c it was a walgreens coupon. Per the manager at the store. The last couple times i have went in there and they have tried to tell me that i have to surrender it b/c it says limit 1 on it. The general manager at this store is of no use. I have had to complain to her about other things and she just acts like she does not want to be there.

so more or less i am wanting to know if i can keep this coupon each time i use it and if so can i get a link to where it would say via from walgreens so i will not have to fight with them any more. This is the only walgreens in driving area.

I was wondering if the Colgate RR's are rolling, because I noticed that at the bottom of the RR that it only says 'Thanks for your purchase' instead of the company name!? TIA

Only rolling to other deals, not on the same family of deals. As I get my RR's I write off to the side Ecotrin, Bayer or Colgate so I know which deal it was. Then next trip I look to see what is in my cart and then I know I can't use the Ecotrin and $3.50 Colgate since I am not doing them.

Did anyone else have trouble finding any Bayer crystals yesterday? I went on Sunday (which is not the norm for me) and got out farely early but the shelves in 2 stores were bare. None to be found, and I checked up by the checkout and different spots 'cause a few weeks ago one of those stores had some of them at the checkout. I don't think they restocked!? I don't think they would have been cleared out that quick. I don't know.

Also, did anyone notice that the ads vary a bit? I had 2 ads from Wags that I got out of different papers and one had the Ball Park Franks b1g1 free at $3.29 for the first and in the other ad (in the same spot) they had Kahn's hot dogs b1g1 at $3.29 for the first. Strange!! I couldn't find the Ball Park either, I saw Kahn's but didn't have a q for them and wanted to use my q before it expired.......even though I know I have brand new ones from yesterday.......but still, I think they needed to stock up a little better. I was thinking I would do better since I was out on Sunday, but you can't if it's not in stock right?! Oh well, I got a few things at Wags and at 2 or 3 other stores!

I think they have some type of savings club that ties in with prescriptions and I think pushes the Walgreens brand items.

I have a question.

I dropped some film off today and wanted to use the following coupon:

50%off any exposure roll, 4x6 prints. Valid now thru December 31,2009. One hour availability based on capacity. From original 35mm, APS roll, or single use camera. Limit one per customer. Not valid in Puerto Rico. Subject to rules of use. Not valid with any other discounts or offers, unless specified. Coupon void if purchased, sold or bartered for cash.

The cashier refused to accept the coupon because it wasn't used when I dropped off the film, rather when I picked it up. It doesn't specify that coupon need to be presented when dropping off, but it does say "subject to rules of use"...?

Does anyone know if this is Walgreens standard policy when redeeming coupons for photo processing? Is it stated anywhere in writing? I've looked through the FAQ here and all over the Walgreens site, but haven't found anything helpful...I mean, how was I supposed to know?

Do ya think it's worth me calling customer service over? (using this coupon would have saved me $6.00 and I probably won't ever have a need to use the coupon in the future because I'm all digital...this was my last roll of film from my pre-digital life)

TIA

I would argue the point that: 1) nowhere does it state the q must be presented when ordering/dropping off film, and 2) q's are generally presented when we are paying for an item. So how are you supposed to magically know to present a q ahead of time? :rolleyes24: Good luck, I hope you can get some of your $$ back.

I'm new to this couponing but I had no problems at CVS... Wallgreens had the HIP products bogo. I had 2.00 coupons off. They would only let me use only 4 instead of 8 the total that I bought, Last week Cvs let me use 8 coupons for 8 HIP. 7.99-4.00=3.99 for 4 and 4 free!! Is this an ongoing policy with Walgreens?? Not to let you use coupons on the free product?? :wavehi:

It is a YMMV using 2 coupons on a bogo, some stores will allow it, while others won't. Don't feel alone..........mine won't do it either

The 3 that I live near will only take one coupon for BOGO items too. I can't tell you the last time I darkened the door of Walgreens. Since the end of the ESR program, it just hasn't been worth it.

Sorry if this has already been asked somewhere or if this is in the wrong spot...

Yesterday, I used the $5/$25 coupon to basically buy all the RR earners this week. So, the Skintimate, Balsam hair color, Right Guard, Benefiber, Band-Aids, and Bayer. All my RRs printed for everything except the Band-Aids. The manager came over, and I showed her the ad and my receipt. She left, came back, and told me that there wasn't a way for her to print out the RRs, but I could submit this form by mail for it, and she gave me a form. Is anyone familiar with this form? Will I receive a RR, cash, or gift card? Is it worth filling out this form, or should I just return the Band-Aids I bought? I've never seen this form before. In the past when my RRs haven't printed, they have just returned my items and re-rung them to get the RR to print. Failing that, I think one time they gave me cash.

You can fill out the form or call the toll-free number if you don't want the RR for a few weeks. I find it a LOT easier just to return the product that didn't trigger the RR.

I'd recommend calling Catalina Marketing with your recipt # (RFN) and have them mail it to you. It takes a while, but the RR won't be printed for yesterday's date, so it won't be expired. You'll have time to spend it.
The only other recommendation would be as johnfdeluca said, and return and rebuy.
You can find the contact info for Catalina in the Walgreens RR FAQ thread. LINK to Walgreens Catalina / Register Rewards FAQ (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/walgreens-catalina-deals-register-rewards/43971-walgreens-catalina-register-rewards-faq.html)
Q: My RR/Catalina didn't print. What do I do ?
A1: The store will give you a form to fill out and mail in to catalina
A2: 1-888-8coupon, option 3
A3: use the online form: Contact | Catalina Marketing (http://www.catalinamarketing.com/contact/)

How long are RR usually good for? I've never gotten a RR deal for the simple fact that I'm afraid I will get all these RR and then have to use them by the next week....and then what if there was nothing good that I needed or wanted in the next week ad.
How long are they good for after they are printed?

I see that there is a FAQ & "Coupon Rules" posted. Does anyone know if this came from Walgreen's? I am very frustrated with them right now. Everytime I go to my local Walgreen's they tell me something different about their coupon policy. In fact, half the time I leave and different members of staff are going back and forth about what the policy is. So, I contacted Walgreen's and asked for a copy of their coupon policies in writing. They said they have no coupon policies. Any info on this would be greatly helpful. I don't want to stop shopping there, but it is just too much of a hassle at this point. Thanks in advance for any insight on this issue!

Sorry. Walgreens really doesn't have a corporate/chain-wide coupon policy. WAG Corporate has some general guidelines (which are reflected in the FAQ thread). They allow store managers to make the "rules" for their store. The FAQ info came from general answers we have received from Walgreens corporate over time, as well as the experience of members here. Depending upon the number of stores in your area, you could possibly find different "rules" in each store. There seems to be some continuity within the same district (District Mgmt), but until you "know" your area's store personnel/rules, it can be quite frustrating. Don't give up. It will only take a short time to know the rules in your area. Then you can find some awesome deals at Walgreens.

It will be midnight. Also, stores that are not 24 hour usually change prices over in the early evening. Some of my stores Sunday prices begin at 3 in the afternoon Saturday. However, some stores RR's do not print until 8 am. It depends on the store.

Would like some quick clarification on overages, if possible.
I know it's YMMV, but my Wags had Natural Instincts hair dye on sale for 2.24. I had a few of the $4/1 coupons so I thought, "cool, free hair dye". I wasn't expecting any overage given back to me, but I was under the impression they could mark the coupon down (or whatever it's called) so that it would be free. I was wrong. The cashier said they couldn't accept a coupon with a value higher than the price. Is this true/the norm, or do you think it's worth me asking a manager/cust. svc about and that maybe this one cashier didn't know how to properly handle it?

TIA.

I've had stores give me the overage, another mark the coupon down and yet another price the product up. I think it is worth talking to the store manager first and then go from there. He needs to choose one of those ways and let you know his store's policy.

There was a link somewhere in this forum that a I believe an Ohio reporter wrote. It has questions and then the answers given by customer service. I carry around a copy of it just in case. It states to adjust the coupon down. If I'm not getting overage I prefer this way because the other way increases the tax.

You might try emailing corporate and just asking about coupon usage without going into detail about your particular store. This way you have a copy addressed to you and the name from customer service for verification.

Thank you very much. I think I still got an alright deal at $2.24, but was really only getting them because I thought they would be free.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will stop back in just to see what the manager says. :thanks7:

so tonight I went to Wags to get the Angel Soft TP. I was going to get 3 packs and I had three coupons. The TP was priced at .47 and the coupon was for .50. The first two coupons scanned fine, but the last one didn't? Anyone know why? I was so confused, it wasn't expired or anything. And I also bought some hairbands and bobby pins so it's not like the overage would of affected it because my bill ended up being $25 from the other things I bought (which I did not use coupons for. So basically I had three coupons and 8 products, coupon not expired, and no overage problem, so I don't get why the last one didn't work. TIA!

You needed $1.50 in Angel Soft for three qs to work. If you had gotten another pkg, you could have used all three qs.

Hey, I have a question that's been bugging me and I just thought to post it.

What's the deal with Walgreens cashiers saying they aren't supposed to scan items for price checks? It's this huge deal in my store. If I ask at the front register, I'm always directed to the cosmetics counter (doesn't matter what the item is) and then the BA gets really antsy and always, always, always says something about how they're not supposed to do that. It's happened with several different cashiers. No one wants to price check anything and they suggest that if something doesn't ring up right, I just complete the transaction and then return it. What's up with this?

No card needed (at least for now, but that could change at some point). The RRs expire 2 weeks from the date they print.

:shrug7:Are they actually ringing the item into the register? then having to void the transaction? Sounds a little odd to me and that's the only thing I could think of. They do have the ability to do a price check and not actually enter the item into the register.
Also, if this is something that is a continuous problem (prices not marked, etc.), try speaking with the SM to see what's up. However, if you're just trying to see if something's on clearance that you've read about online, maybe they're just suspicious. Personally, I'd ask to speak with someone to see what the problem is, but that's just me I guess. Then, fly under the radar if they're acting suspicious. As long as I'm doing what's right, I don't care how weird people behave, kwim?

What's really odd is that a couple of the BAs are people I've become really acquainted with and we get along well. They are always really pleasant to deal with and have done all sorts of above and beyond things if a deal isn't working right or as advertised. I don't think they really suspect me of some misdeed, but are instead somehow misinformed. Same thing at the front register, though I'm less acquainted with them since I generally check out at cosmetics anyway. Sometimes it's a matter of checking a clearance item or something that just isn't marked at all, but no matter who I ask, I get this look of panic and a comment about how they really aren't supposed to scan items for price checks. It's the most bizarre thing and seems to be storewide since my request for price scans has them all recoiling in horror. I probably should ask a manager, but I really hate to seem like I'm going over their heads since they're always so nice to me there, you know? While it would be great if the manager could clear up that little problem, I'd hate for it to turn into something they get kind of chewed out for or that it would be handled like a complaint.

So I take it this is not a common issue and that my store is apparently misinterpreting something?

Mikki 316
05-31-2009, 06:35:44 PM
I've never heard of such an issue before. Sounds really strange to me. I kinda feel sorry for the cashiers if their manager has them so afraid, kwim?

Checking the price of an item at a register is called price verifying, if a cashier does alot of price verifys at their register it shows up on a report. That may be the reason some cashiers are reluctant to do price verifys. It is a loss prevention issue

Sheesh, that seems so unfair to honest cashiers.

If wags is going to count a large amount of price checks against an employee, they should spring for those price checker thingies like CVS has then!

Smee
05-31-2009, 09:06:51 PM
I'm really not understanding how a lot of price checks would indicate dishonesty or what they're looking for.

So what's the best way to go about this (because I really would like to be able to do more price checks than I do since things aren't always as they're marked, but usually avoid it as much as possible because the cashiers really seem to stress over it)? Would it be easier to take it to the register as if I'm going to buy it and then just void it out once it scans if it's not what I want? I want to be able to shop efficiently, but without raising a lot of suspicion of wrongdoing.

IMO ask for the price check, if the managers don't want alot of price checks in their stores they can........make sure things are tagged correctly, give the cashiers a telxon so they can price check items, or probably even other ideas to get the price check for the customer

I saw the halls on sale for .65 and had my coupon for .75 off. the store manager refused to lower the coupon amount. the cashier then informed me that the coupon says i get .75 off, it doesnt say free!! she said i can not get an item for free if the coupon doesnt say free!! wow, does she have some learning to do!

so my question is, is this a ymmv thing or is this pretty standard for them to lower the amount to match?

It's YMMV. I'd find another store, with more coupon friendly cashiers/management. Some will just push it through for .75 (if you have other items to absorb the overage. No change will be given) Some will adjust the coupon to .65, or adjust the price of the product to .75. Still others, like the one you visited, will just refuse the coupon.
Hope you have another store in your area.

You should be able to. The only time I've returned something I used RRs on, I got cash. Some stores might give you a giftcard instead of cash.

I'm not sure if this is the place to post my question... if I'm in the wrong place, I apologize.

I am new to the Walgreens RR and plan on hitting up Wags tomorrow for some deals. I know what I want, but am having a hard time figuring out how to do my transactions in order to get the lowest OOP. I would love any suggestions you may have...

This is what I want and the Q's I have to go with them:
Keebler Pecan Sandies 4/$10--- 3RR wyb 4 $1 Q x 4
Ecotrin $2 ---- multiple Q's for $2 & $2.25 making this free & want as many as I'm allowed
Tresemme Haircare 3/$12--- 5RR wyb 3 $1 Q x 3
Kerasal 1 step--- $7.99 get 5RR $1 Q
Aquafresh $0.99 w/ store Q $1 Man Q (multiple Q's for this as well)

So that is what I would like to get tomorrow. I have 4 different walgreens in the area so if I need to go to more than 1 I can.

How should I arrange transactions to pay lowest OOP. I don't currently have any RR to put toward my 1st transaction.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have!!

You needed $1.50 in Angel Soft for three qs to work. If you had gotten another pkg, you could have used all three qs.

This happened to me with something else, I don't remember what, but there was a penny overage for each item (same item, I was buying 3 with 3 qs). Why will this work with 2 and not 3? i.e., 0.99 item, $1/1 q will work if you do it twice but not 3 times, even though it's the same idea. Am I making sense?

This is in reference to the post where someone bought angel soft at 0.47 with a 0.50 q -- it worked for 2 items but not for 3.

The reader board specials are sent down from corp. I would assume they are good in every store

This is a small vent but why is Walgreens not uniform in their policy when it comes to buy one get one free and use two coupons? :shrug7:

Geez. I was so hoping to use some cheap HIP Loreal makeup to look like some drag queen instead of using MAC ...but they stole my joy! :hysterical: Totally wanted to use the turquoise metallic color..

One store is fine with it and the other is an absolute no.

Sort of annoying when I worked for a big company and there is no such thing as wavering from a rule. Is each store independently owned? :rolleyes24:

nope each store isn't individually owned. It seems Walgreens corp has given each store the ownership of their coupon policy. Some stores will take 2 mfg on a bogo while others won't. It is confusing since there isn't a "uniform" coupon policy. Best advice I can give is get to know your store's coupon policy. If you have more then one store you shop at...get to know each stores policy as they could differ.

In my case, I also know each of my cashiers coupon "policy" as it varies based on who checks me out. Of course this is just inconsistent enforcement of policy but some cashiers will not let me do what the manager lets me do and vice versa. I'm sure many will agree that this can be the most frustrating part of deal shopping (along with shelf clearing). I would prefer a well documented and posted (for cashiers and customers alike) policy so I know how to maximize my savings while staying within the stated policy.

To illustrate, at the same Walgreens, depending on the cashier, I've been told I can use only 1 RR per transaction. The next visit, the cahier saw I had several RRs in my coupon envelope and told me I could use more. Then back another time, the same (store mgr) who told me I could only use 1 RR per transaction took more than one RR without question. So I sometimes feel like it's a game of roulette. The other Walgreens (which has much more shelf clearing so I don't visit as often) has a more consistent policy with their more seasoned cashiers.

Can someone please help me figure out where I went wrong?

I purchased 3 John Freida Sham. @ $5/ea with a $5 RR when I reached $15. So, $15 - 2 ($3/1 mq total of $6) - $5RR = $4. That's how the trans. happened. What I can't figure out is why the register wouldn't allow me to use my last $3/1 mq for a total of ($9mq) making it a final price of $1. :shrug7:

On a sep. transaction, I bought mayo for 2/$7. I used a $5RR and wanted to use 2 (.60/1 mq) making them at total of .80. Instead, the register wouldn't allow one of the .60/1 mq and it came out to be $1.40 instead.

We even tried to rering the items and have the manager key in the correct price and nothing would work. Any hints? :shrug7:

on the John Frieda you had 3 items and 4 coupons, the RR count as coupons. You can't have more coupons then items. Next time throw in a small "filler" and it will take all 4 of them. Same with the mayo transaction, 2 items 3 coupons, again a small "filler" would have fixed the problem.

After many trips to WAGS to get all the great deals I Know I should be getting I finally give up. I cashed in my last $10 RR and have no plans to return.

Must be our store is so new that even the managers dont really understand the rr's or how the q's work w/ them. I feel like Im treated like a theif everytime I use q's w/ rr's. I have followed closely all of the rules but still no change. Its like the rules change w/ each clerk or manager.

Even after explaining to them the procedure as I have learned it via HCW(we know that here the rules are researched) I am often handed my q back. Like I would purchase anything without one.

Does anyone else find that It just isnt worth the hassle of being harrassed everytime their in the checkout, or have you maybe found a way to overcome it?

Sorry didnt post in hot house, but really wanted to know if anyone else is suffering through this.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Quick question here :
Say I have a $3 dollar RR would this work with it ?
Coupon from Wag's flyer for Skintimate shave cream 1.99 limit 3
Have 2 IP q's for 1.00 off the above product
add on another coupon from Wag's flyer for the candy
would I need fillers ?
In other words does the coupons in the flyer count toward the limit on q's plus items ?

I'm new at wags too, but I think I can help. If I'm reading correctly, you have 3 items right? Two skintimate and 1 candy?

Then, you have 3 MQ's--1 RR and 2 IP for the skintimate?

I believe the wags q's from their Sunday flyer don't count towards the 1 coupon per item rule.

So it appears to me that you're good!

Coupon*clipper is correct....the wags q does not count towards your item vs q count so you will be ok. I always give the wags q last though....it just seems to work better and saves some $$.

Limit one coupon per purchase.........you are purchasing 3, so you should be able to use 3 coupons.

If the coupons stated one per transaction, then if you got 3 you could only use one coupon.

Maybe you can explain the difference between purchase and transaction to the Manager.

Some State laws prohibit coupons being used on dairy.

MO is weird when it comes to coupons usage on milk. While $$ catalinas and RR are prohibited, do a buy "X" number of cereals at a grocery chain and occasionally one will receive a valid cat for 1-3 gallons of milk. But, the Shop 'n Save $10 off $50 promo, which runs on many Thursday, does not allow fresh milk to be counted toward the $50 requirement. Of course one can save $5 on a $50 GC with an Entertainment Book coupon and use the GC today to buy fresh milk.

The bottom line is that consumers are paying for protectism of their state dairy cartel. Luckily, I can buy a gal. of 2% at Aldi for $.76 cheaper than what Wags shows on the current local ad.

Question

Recently at two different stores, I came across the in-ad coupons sale price already programmed into the register. One involved the Mars candy bars and the other involved the Right Guard products. I get the impression some Wags are ran with a different set of rules.

jrobertson911
06-25-2009, 08:27:15 AM
I have never run across that before...of course I have only two wags in my area. I know that at one of my stores, the cashier knows exactly what items in your order have an in-ad q and they scan it themselves without me presenting it to them. This does cause a problem sometimes when the value of my mq would be above the price of the wags in-ad q price.

I have run into that also (we are both in MO - not sure if that has anything to do with it). The one that has done it to me EVERYTIME is when the Walgreens Paper Plates have a 7day Q for .99 -- they always ring up .99 w/o the Q. Luckily those don't have mfg to mess with it....

wildcat563
06-27-2009, 01:46:16 AM
It's not a different set of rules. Sometimes one or a few of the ad products don't ring up properly, and one has to go into the computer and enter it manually. Occasionally, after that, the coupon still won't scan, and it's much easier to have the product ring up at the sale price.

avontrainer,

I had the same mentality yesterday. I used my RR thinking I was not going to return.

I don't understand WHY (I was looking in the sense of accounting) a store would not accept two coupons with buy one get one free. Actually the store makes more money that way. (let's say 2 razors 8 dollars normally. if you use one $4 coupon the store would make just $8. with two $4 coupons it would be $12--- but I know there is a processing fee) So if I am correct, I am going to presume the managers are ding dongs for not encouraging this. :whistle67:(I know turning in too much coupons is not good either but coupons are cash):sigh2:

The reason why I won't accept that is that the price of the 2nd razor is $0. I would take the coupon, but only for that price ($0), which makes it useless. With the belief that coupons are to be used for the purpose intended, and other use constitutes fraud, I can take $4 off of the $8 razor, but cannot take $4 off of the free razor. While the item count is equal to the coupon count, the bottom line is that by taking both coupons, I am using both of them on one razor, which is (usually) expressly forbidden on the individual coupons. The fact that the system allows it is nothing but a loophole.

:rolleyes24:Well here is a first for me. I went to Wags this AM planning on purchasing the Dry Idea and use my $2. IP coupon. On the coupon it says "Available at Wal Mart" so the cashier wouldn't take it, said it was a Wal Mart coupon. I said, No, it says available at Wal Mart. Now I have used the same coupon at Target 2 or 3 different times with no problem. She looked at every coupon before ringing it up and wouldn't even try to see if the system would accept it, just flat out refused. What's up with that?

She also wouldn't accept a coupon on a BOGO item. That one totally confuses:hectic1: me lately because I am purchasing the item to begin with and the coupon wasn't even for the free item and was a totally different item. Buy a bic razor get free cartridge. The coupon was for the razor. This also happened at a different store, different product BOGO they wouldn't accept a coupon on the purchased item.:hectic1:

In the last 2 days I have been to 5 different stores and had coupon issues at each and every one of them. It has gotten so frustrating. I am 0 for 5 in trips without incident. Maybe I'll give myself a rest before I totally throw in the towel.:shrug7::hysterical:

Okay, so I am fairly new to this couponing business and have some questions about Walgreen's policy. Today I went in to buy some items that according to the current add, I would receive register rewards for. I had about $30 worth of "stuff" and $23 rr's to use from the previous week and a few man coupons as well. The manager said everything had to be rung up in 3 seperate transactions because I could not use that many rr's on one transaction. I asked him to seperate them out so that I would receive the new rr's that I was eligible for. He told me that when paying with rr's I would not receive any new ones for anything that was purchased. He also told me that I could not use manufacturer's coupons in addition to rr's. I have never had any problems in the past and found this a little hard to believe. What is the point of rr's if I can't use them with other coupons and won't receive new ones with that purchase? I really haven't had any problems in the past, so is this a new policy or did they make a mistake previously? I guess I will stick to the other drugstores in the area if this is how they are going to work their program! Any help??

It won't matter if the sale is over or not. If you try it with a receipt, they'll know the dates and know you got a RR. If you try without a receipt, they'll think you're up to something and assume (correctly) that you got a RR and you'll still have the same hassle.

Any help??

You can use one manufacturer's coupon (a RR is counted as a manufacturer's coupon) per item purchased in the transaction. So, if you were trying to use more than one MQ per item (4 items, 6 coupons, etc), then they were correct.

Could you help me with an Ink cartridge refill question..plz

I need ink refills pretty much right now. I don't really Wag anymore since they got rid of the Easy saver rebates and they give me such a hard time but I need ink refills really bad. I have not read future ads...wondered if you could tell me if there are any upcoming refill deals that I should hold off for.

If I do it now:

Black refill is $10 I have a $3.00 off coupon so $7 and color $15.00 -3.00 coupon= $12.00.

Is there anything better in the horizon.

I know...I know...I should have bought with the $5/25 from Thurs. and Friday. Didn't think about it. :shrug7:

Do you have any idea how they would handle the coupons they gave me a couple months age. On it it says Reg. $10 blk and $15 color and it doesn't expire until the end of the year. Wonder if they will honor that price for the black and still take the $3.00 off for the coupon. :shrug7: Pricing is better now for color but those hardly ever work for me.

Question:

I have a raincheck for Kellogg's Rice Krispies for $1.99 (limit 4)
Rice Krispies is part of the RR-deal (from what I have read various places).
I have the Vocalpoint 1$ coupons.

Will I get the RR if I use the rain check? They usually do price adjust on those, right?

Thanks!

Quick question:

I saw in the upcoming ad that the Colgate will be $2.99 and you get a $2.99 RR so = FREE!

I don't know much about Walgreens since I always shop at CVS, buttttt if I go and do that one transaction, it will print a $2.99 RR. If I do ANOTHER transaction with the $2.99 toothpaste and use my $2.99 RR, will it be free again? And can I keep doing this?

I highly doubt that is right, but I just want to make sure.

I just wrote an email to corporate and will be calling them tomarrow. Well, I guess it's up to the store. I've never had a problem doing multiple transactions (within reason), especially at the Cosmetics counter, AND no one else is in line. Sheesh! Your store must have made a fortune today to turn down business, when no one else was even waiting to make a purchase. :rolleyes24:

No, WAG won't allow rolling RRs into the same promotion. You could purchase another RR producing item (different promo/company) and use that RR to buy another Colegate and vice versa. HTH.

My mom just started couponing and I'm trying to help her. She's making her trip to Wags today, so if someone could help me answer this for her this morning, that would be really great.

The Osteo BiFlex is BOGO at Walgreens this week. When I go to walgreens.com it is showing sale prices that are 50% off. At the store, will the $50 bottle be $50 or $25?

Trying to help my mom with a scenario using the BOGO sale, $5 off $25 and the $6 coupons from Sunday.

Will Wags let her use 2 $6 coupons if it's BOGO?

niecey1996

Most Wags will let you use 2 q's on B1G1, but it is a YMMV.

I don't know what the price is normally on Osteo Bi-Flex but if it is usually $50 then yeah it would be $25, unless they're just showing it this way because it is B1G1!?. You could get a really good deal on them with the B1G1, $5/$25 and the $6 Q's!! (If they do indeed allow both of the q's to go through) And even if they don't allow 2, it would be a much better price than normal for two, right?!

IF you get....

$25.00/2
~-5.00/$25
=20.00
~-12.00 2-$6 Q's
~~$8.00 + tax for 2 (if they are priced at $25)

HTH! ;)

The wording on the 5/25 coupons read after all coupons and tax. So your total must be $25 after you use the 2 $6 coupons. Or $37 plus tax. If she has some more to buy, then that would work. And I think the smaller bottles of OsteoBiFlex are $21.99, and up to $50 each.

Are you thinking of the $1.00 off 2 BIC stationary products? If you are I'm thinking that they would work. After all the coupon does have a picture of pens and highlighters on it. The only thing I'm worried about is somewhere it says something to the effect of cannot be combined with any other offer. So, I'm afraid that they will read the fine print at Walgreens and not let me use them on the sale.

What do you all think?

Can we use a in-ad coupon with a manufacturer's coupon on one item? There's an ad coupon for 2/$5 on V8 Fusion. I was wondering if I could combine that with a $1 ip . I hope this makes sense to you. Are the weekly ad coupons counted as actual coupons in our transactions?

Example:
If I have 2 Listerine Agent Cool Blue & 2 jelly belly sented pens (weekly ad coupon 8/9 - 8/15).

I have 4 items, use a B1G1 MQ for Listerine, $1 MQ also for Listerine, 1 weekly ad item Q & want to use 2 different RR to pay.

I'm thinking my count is 4 items & 4 "coupons". Is that correct?

Hi Michelle, it makes perfect sense. The in ad and "IVC" coupons from WAG do not count in the # items/# of coupons (aka computer logic).
In your scenario above, you have 4 items and 4 coupon (RRs count as MQs).

It depends on how the items ring up. If they ring up $x.xx and 0, then only the $x.xx will count in your bottom line. If they ring up $x.xx and $x.xx, then one is taken off at the bottom, then, most likely they will both "count." I'm thinking also of the Holiday Cash RRs in December of last year. We were buying laundry detergent that was normally $6.99, but on sale for $1.99 and it was counting as $6.99 toward the $25. I guess I've confused you even more. Sorry. :whistle67: But, without knowing how the items ring up, it's hard to give a clear answer. HTH.

WAG is not required to send in the IVCs, so you can *usually* keep them. However, last time they had an activity book with coupons, they weren't programmed correctly and had to be entered manually. The cashiers sometimes insisted on keeping them so that their $$ came out right at the end of the shift. It's a possibility that they will want to keep the new ones, depending upon whether or not they're programmed correctly.

As for the current $50 BTS booklet, so far, so good. Although some members have posted that their store won't allow them to be combined with MQs. They haven't been keeping them (at least here). I haven't tried the new activity book Qs yet, but from what I've read, they are now programmed correctly. So, YMMV on keeping them.

If you mean the $50 Q booklets, then yes, you can combine. I've done so with the Huggies wipes. Someone left a couple of .75/1 Huggies qs in the diaper aisle at Kroger and I happily took them down the street to use them at WAG, along with the IVC. :wink7:

Here I go with another probably dumb question. I noted yesterday I am trying to get back into Walgreens after quite awhile. Anyway, am I imagining it or wasn't there at one time a weekly spreadsheet for the sales, or a place to find coupon match-ups?

Each Ad will have match-ups in the OP as we find them and edit the post to reflect them. It might not be in the very first post of the thread, but it will be in the post with the Ad listed in that post.

Went Wgs today to get several of the RR deals. I was buying Listerine and Benadryl with man q's and then I was suppose to get RR's for them as well. I had no problem with anything except the Benadryl--the RR's did not print. The asst manager said it was because I had used man q's to purchase the Benadryl but I explained to him that that was no policy I had ever heard of and it worked on the Listerine. He was nice enough to get the RR's I earned on the Benadryl but he couldnt even explain why it didnt work. He said that the managers had all had a pow-wow and been told that the new policy was that they could not print RRs when you also use man q's to purchase the same items. The Manufacturers had decided that was double couponing and they werent going to allow this anymore. Can anyone else explain this if they have heard of this? WIll they really try to keep this 'new' policy?

I didn't have any problems last week getting the RRs while using Qs. The only time I have problems w/an individual offer (v entire transaction) is when I use a Q with the same value as the expected RR. You didn't happen to use a $5 Benedryl Q or accidentally use a Benedryl RR from a previous transaction?

I'm sure mfrs don't like the "double-dipping". But the current policy doesn't prohibit it.

The BOGO Q will only take off the lowest price (50% off price). YMMV on using both the BOGO and the 1/1, since one is already free from WAG. I don't use my BOGOs during BOGO 1/2 sales. But, if you need razors, then it's a decent deal.

Several members have posted that WAG only refills certain brands of cartridges. Also, I've seen numerous posts about the cartridges not printing clearly or the member returning to pick up the refilled cartridge and being told that something was wrong with the cartridge and it couldn't be refilled.
I've personally never tried it, so I'm just going on what other members here have posted. HTH.

Forgive me if this question has already been asked. I am fairly new to Wags. I earned five $5 RR's last week for purchasing over $25. I notice that the fine print on the RR says Limit 1 Walgreen Dollars Cpn redeemed per transaction. Are they strict about that, or will they allow me to use more than one? I know their IVC cpns say there's a certain limit, but the registers will usually allow more than that.

I'm assuming I can only use one $5 RR per transaction...and can I also use the $5/$25 printable that's available now?

Another question...what if I buy the Crest TP or Oral B. and earn $5 RR, can I roll that over & use it on the Pampers (they're all P&G products)???

Boy, it's confusing shopping at Wags! I guess it might be okay once I get the hang of it, but you really have to keep your thinking cap on when you get to the checkout to make sure you're doing everything correctly...handing over the cpns in the correct order...separating your orders correctly, etc., etc. Do you find it's better to use the cosmetic dept checkout?

TIA!

WAG RR ($5 for spending $25) can only be used one per transaction. They cannot be combined with the $5/$25 coupon and will add the $5 back onto your total.
The P&G RRs state that they are not to be used toward the purchase of P&G products, so you could roll these to another promo/company and then roll that company's RR to the P&G promo. (Walgreens Register Reward: P&G register rewards announcement (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/walgreens-catalina-deals-register-rewards/216162-walgreens-register-reward-p-g-register-rewards-announcement.html) ) As for which register to use, I personally prefer checking out in Cosmetics. They have to have a certain # or $ amount daily to justify the positions, so it helps them out. Also, the BAs are usually very coupon friendly.
Hope I answered everything. If not, feel free to post again.

Hmmmm, well it looks like I won't be using the $5/$25 cpns I printed out. Now I gotta figure out how to use up all those $5 RR's I earned before they expire next Mon.

Yeah, I printed out one $5/25 too but didn't use it today!! But I feel that I did better without it and doing several trans w/ lower OOP's. Plus, I wanted to do different trans to get the same products that were producing RR's.

Is there a 'Sure Fire' order in which to give the RR's, manuQ's, and IVC's? No matter which way I hand them over there's beeping involved!?!? I don't get it! I know this is a question that has been asked before and maybe there is no definite answer but it is just driving me crazy lately trying to figure out which way to do it without troubles! Okay, rant over; TIA for your help! ;)

Ok, so this is the second time this week I've gone to a Walgreens for the cereal deal. BOTH times I have used coupons...(although last time was only a $1.00 off rice crispies).

This past time, I did not get my printed $2 off next purchase coupon like the sales paper advertises. So, when I asked the manager about it she said it was because I used a coupon.:rolleyes24: "When you use a coupon, it will not print the $2 off coupon."

Is this correct? I told her that it did NOT say that in the ad and she said "it does say some exclusions apply.":shrug7:

I used a $2 catalina & $2.50 coupon for rice crispies and paid OOP 66 cents.
I think I'll go back to the other Walgreens tomorrow and see what happens :0(

the $2 catalina that you used.... was it from Kellogs? from a previous cereal purchase? if so that is the reason it didn't print, you can't use a RR from one deal on the purchase of another deal from the same manufacturer. ( hope that makes sense ) if the $2 RR was from something else.......I am not sure why it didn't print. You can always call the catalina company and see if they will send you one.

HTH.

I'm considering just having my printer ink cartridge refilled next week for the $9.99. I basically just use the printer for printing coupons. Is the ink a good deal or not? Does it dry up in the tank quickly? What is your experineces? Thanks in advance.

They have refilled mine three times now. I've had no trouble at all. If you go to Walgreens.com and click on the photo area you will find "ink refill" or something like that and it lists all cartridges they do refill. HTH

Your method of payment shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not your receive a RR. Did the RR print and they just refused to give it to you? I am definitely not one to call District or Corporate, but that kind of mess really upsets me. You can find the number for your District office in your local phone book. Or you can call WAG Corporate and tell them that you want a District Mgr to call you back, not the store manager.

That is what I thought too about using EBT, but apparently something must have changed.:shrug7: The store manager was rude so I did email corporate- she did call the next day to appologize ( I demanded it in my letter because of how rude she was). We again went round and round- she said she got a letter from corporate and did recheck that morning. I am just a little confused.

I would ask to see the letter she received from Corporate. I would also contact the DM and ask about this. EBT is reimbursed and should be treated like any other form of payment. I feel this is discrimination and, if I were in your shoes, I would take serious offense to it. (Sorry, this is just one of my "soapbox issues" and I hate to see anyone mistreated.)

I have a question for Wags/RR experts out there. I'm new to couponing & went a little overboard in the last few weeks at Wags, so I have about $30 in RR I need to use before they expire on Sunday- and I'm not wowed by any of the sales or RR opportunities this week. I could do a ton of small transactions on carefree pads or something...what do you guys do when you have RR's to burn but no tempting deals out there!?! (obvious answer is to use them for something you really need...but I cannot bring myself to buy anything at wags full price b/c I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere!!!

That's really the only option, unless you buy something larger and use multiple RRs + fillers (IF your store allows more than one per transaction). You can use one MQ per item purchased (RRs = MQ). So, you could buy something that costs more than the RR, but you'd need filler to use more than one. Also, the subtotal of your transaction has to be less than/equal to the amount of the RRs. I hope that makes sense.
I'd rather spend them on something than allow them to expire and be worthless, kwim?

I'm no expert by the way, but here's what I would do with some of them....

I'd say do the Garnier deal that gives the $10 RR. You can get a pretty good deal from that one on the hair color and the $2/1 q (8-16 RP). Buy 4/$20 - 4q's ($8) = $12 get a cheap filler or two to use your RR's (I would use about $10 worth of RR's, since that is what you will receive back). There's the free Coke deal wyb the 2 Hershey's bars (no RR's for these though, but a good filler!)

If none of this interests you go to the Walgreen's Register Rewards Summary thread and check them out to get other ideas!!

I have been growing mine the last few weeks for my DD's b-day so she can pick some gifts, and they have a thing right now 3/$13.xx I believe! And they have LPS toys, which is a big hit around here! Just a few ideas!?

HTH!! ;)

I am no expert, either. :giggle2: I'm just someone trying to save money the best that I can.

I look at RRs very differently now than I did when I first started. I used to say that I would never "waste" my hard earned RRs on over priced groceries. (Really, I would say this out loud to people. :giggle2:) I would roll and roll, and really only got the RR/Rebate deals and ink refills. Basically, I judged how I did each week based on my Wags OOP and whether I had more RRs at the end of the week than I did at the beginning of it. Now I judge my success based on how much I spend overall OOP anywhere for anything.

It is very tough in my area to get really good deals on groceries (I blame HEB and their silly yellow coupons. :banghead: ) After the last monitor deal at Wags I had tons of RRs. I wished that I could have that many cats for my local grocery stores. I then realized that if I made a profit at Wags, that it was basically free money to spend as I please. If I had bought 5 Rembrandt toothpastes last week after coupon, I made a $5 profit. So, even if Wags food is over priced, it is still free. I don't get the value that I would get with $5 at the grocery store, but it is still $0 OOP. I have been doing my best to get the most value out of my RRs by ad matching and using coupons. I also make sure to keep enough RRs around to do the deals that I want to do at Wags.

So, this week I got some Soup in Hand ($.49 after store and manu coupon) and Niagra spray starch ($1.49 for 2 after store and manu coupon). Next week, I going to get some tuna. I've also done the Garnier RR hair color deal a couple of times. (The local battered women's shelter gets the hair color.)

Slowly but surely, my food stockpile is growing, my RRs are kept at an amount I can manage to roll and my grocery bill is going down. Some times it is tough to spend the RRs and not get anything back, but I am careful about how I spend them and have to just ask myself sometimes, "Do you want a good price or do you want it free?" :giggle2:

HTH

I have a question. I am very new to Walgreens and have read a lot about problems with RR printing and cashiers' excuses, etc. This evening I went to do 2 transactions and neither RR printed and I thought I did everything right.

T1: 3 one a day 2 pks = 2.97
candy (filler) .35
used: $3 true north RR --> NO $5 rr printed

T2: true north = 2.99 - $1 mq
candy (filler) .35
used: $2 carefree RR --> NO $3 rr printed

Once the RR didn't print, the cashier immediately said that you can't use a RR when buying another RR item (I know this isn't true unless you're trying to roll an RR or using one from the same manufacturer). I looked to see if the cat machine was out of ink or paper, but it wasn't. Manager came to front and maintained a strong position of anything that generates an RR can't be paid for with any RR, so I had him void the transactions.

Does anyone have any idea why the RR's didn't print? Are carefree and true north in any way related? One a day and true north? I would like to try tomorrow but prefer to fly under the radar so if there's something that would cause this to happen again, I'll do something different.

Also, I had one random question - if the one a day is 2.97 for 3, and tax is .30 so the total will be $3.27, can I use a $3 RR to pay, or does the RR you use have to be less than the subtotal? Thanks in advance for the help.

The RRs should have rolled. The ones you used were not in the same promotion as the new products. There must have been something wrong with the catalina machine (off line for updating or something?). Was there a steady, green light on the machine?
As for using RRs, the subtotal has to be at least the value of the RR. In your example, you would need a filler of at least .03 to be able to use the $3 RR.

Yes, there was a steady, green light... at least while we were doing the void - I wasn't able to really see the machine while we were doing the transaction because it was facing the cashier so I had to lean over the counter to see it. I guess the machine was updating - I will try not to go at that time anymore (20 mins before they close). Thanks so much for your help and repped!

The ad prices start around that time. However, the RRs do not necessarily start at that time. It all depends upon when your store updates their register system for the new ad week and the Catalinas usually start printing (in my experience) around 7 a.m. local time. That's YMMV, as some stores will update their systems at midnight. I know that's not much help, but....... you'll need to ask your particular store manager when the ads change and when the Catalina machine system is activated for a new sale week.

WAG RRs are manufacturer's coupons, not store coupons like at CVS. At WAG, you can only use one MQ and one WAG Q per item. So, if you want to use a MQ and a RR, you'd need a cheap filler item.

I have a silly question. Can I write on the RR what item gave that one to me? I have a habit of forgetting to read who its from, and when I get flustered I hand over the first one I grab to get it over with, sometimes causing myself to lose the next one. Happened once with a True North, and once with a Carefree this week. I didn't know if writing on the RR would void it or something silly, but it would help me if I could just have "CAREFREE" written in sharpie on it, not over words or anything. TIA

Hi....what I do in order to avoid confusion at the c/o is I go through and pull out my coupons and RR's I am going to use when in the aisles not at the checkout. Plus, I count the manuQ's and the RR's I plan to use and the items I have to be sure I can use them all for the lowest oop.

Also, always check the ad for in ad coupons that has to be put in by the cashier and the IVC Q's from the different sources available at wags before you get to the c/o. (i.e. the activity book w/ the IVC's, the healthy savings booklet $30 in savings booklet, and another one that's usually up by the c/o w/ $60 in IVC Q's) or somewhere around that....sorry it's in my binder in the van right now!?!?

Anyway....HTH!! ;)

I always keep a list of RRs (w/ expiration dates, products, etc) in my BlackBerry. It's really easy to just mark off what I've used or c/p new ones to keep the list current. Before the BlackBerry, I always kept a little memo book in my purse- the ones we all like to use for cheap fillers at WAG.

After the second trip to this store 2 days ago and today( this store never has any items that would be free after RR), I remembered this time to ask for a raincheck for True north. They have the right to limit quantity on rainchecks. If you're asking if it's right that the price is $3, then yes. You can't get a RR after the promotion ends.

About 2 months ago (same store) I asked for the raincheck for fish oil and the manager wrote FREE on the raincheck, because she deducted the RR from the sale price. I was going in for that one 3 times and they never had it, keep telling me come back and check, yeah that is 20 miles both ways!! I finally remembered about the raincheck and that it was she did.

I hope this is the right place to post this. My girlfriend was telling me about a Walgreen's activity book that has coupon's in it? Sometimes it's near the Pharmacy sometimes it is near where the coloring books are for kids. Does anyone know what this is that she's talking about? ;) I think she said that it's not free. I'd ask her, but she's finishing up a cruise in Alaska and doesn't have phone service.

Thanks,

Kari

The Wags Activity Book is usually near the pharmacy. It has sheet just inside the front cover with 13 coupons that expire March 30th, 2010. The price of the Activity Book is $.99, but some stores have them on clearance. The book itself is slightly smaller than a regular coloring book and has a picture of a dog on it.

The beauty of this book is that they are all Wags Store coupons (IVCs) and you can use them with a manu. coupon. The coupons are:

$2 Neosporin
$2 Band-Aid Liscensed Characters Band-Aids
$1 Children's Benadryl
$1 Children's Flavored Tylenol
$5 Braun Thermoscan
$1 Huggies or Pullups
$1 Gerber Tooth and Gum Cleaner
$1 Zooth or Oral B Licensed Toothbrushes
$1 Listerine Cool Blue Pre Brush Rinse or Smart Rinse
$2 L'il Critters Gummy Vites
$.50 Walgreen's Children's Allergy Relief
$.50 Walgreen's Children's Ibuprofen 100
$1 Crayola Color Explosion or Color Wonder

There are some size and type restrictions on some of the coupons, but that should give you a general idea.

Also, make sure that you check for the coupon sheet before you buy the book, I have found some in my area that have had the sheets torn out.

The sale prices go into effect at midnight. However RR deals don't normally start printing until about 7 am CST. It may vary in your area, but I've tried it at 3 am and gotten nothing. 7 am, no problem.

I am glad that I am not the only one planning on doing my deals ASAP on Sunday. :giggle2:

One more question. I can roll RRs in the same week, right? For example, can I roll the RRs from tomorrow's Gillette Fusion razor into tomorrow's Herbal Essences shampoo? As long as I'm not trying to roll the same product it works, right?

You can roll all week. :giggle2: However, the P&G RRs are "special" in that they state on the RR that they cannot be used to purchase P&G products.

So, you cannot roll the Fusion into the Herbal Essences because they are both P&G products.

You can roll the Gillette RR into another manufacturer's product and then roll that RR into the Herbal Essences, though.

Someone put together a cool list of all the manufacturers of all the RR deals this week, for easy reference. Here's (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/walgreens/277968-walgreens-product-manuf-09-27-wg-rrs.html) the link.

Hope that helps!

For some reason it says I am not allowed to view the Easysaver/IVC Policy.

Anyway, my question is about the IVC booklets. Are those considered store q's or manufacturer q's? Can I pair it with a manu q? Thx!

Okay so if I'd read a little I would've seen a few posts earlier where they are store q's!! But I'm still confused because on the q it says "manufacturer coupon".

*Most* stores will allow you to use an IVC and a MQ on each item. Some managers won't allow it. Ask about it at your store. WAG IVCs are usually store Qs, but occasionally they'll have "manufacturer's coupon" on them. They are usually coded as store Qs and can be stacked with MQs if your store allows it.

I'm new to the WAGs RR. I see on the RR from the Herbal Essence "not valid on P&G products". Does this mean if I purchase 5 items (non P&G) and 1 P&G product in the same transaction, I can not use the RR for this transaction?

I have a question about using RRs.

At CVS I can get my total down to pennies by using ECBs to pay for the tax (receipt shows a negative subtotal before taxes). Can I do that at Wags? I have a bunch of small RRs from this week not sure how I maximize them.

No, the RRs won't scan if they are more than the subtotal. RRs are manufacturer's coupons, ECBs are store coupons.

if you paid with a debit card or gift card it was just the slip.
if one of the items was not on file it was a slip that the cashier ( is suppose to ) fills out and turns in so the item can be put on file

can't think of much else it could have been

Does anyone know why my $1 Wags coupon for Huggies pull-ups from the activity book wouldn't go through?

Carefree 1.99
pull-ups 8.99
3-pencils .39 X 3

-$1 mq carefree
-$2 pull-ups
-$2.50 RR
-$2.50 RR
-$2.00 RR
-$.78 wags q pencils
The subtotal was $1.37 (I knew it was at least over $1)-but the $1 wags q for the pull-ups wouldn't go through. Is this coupon really coded to take off $2? The cashier try a few different things and in the end I just said to forget it I'd just pay the difference. Has anyone else had problems with this coupon?

What can I do with these rr's? Can I do any of the previous weeks scenario's again?

You can use the RRs on another promotion. None of them will roll into the same promotion (and still print another RR). P&G excludes purchasing P&G products with their RR. Other than that, you can buy anything that isn't excluded per the wording on your RR.

It's probably not programmed into their system. I know it's a pain, but it happens sometimes. I had issues with the Theraflu IVC from the Healthy Savings booklet all week long, but just at certain stores.

Please help: At Wags last night (what used to be my favorite one), I did 4 transactions. The last two did not produce the RR (theraflu, vaseline, halls) and (theraflu and halls). The cashier was new and noticed it. Since there was a line behind me and I really needed to get to the grocery before closing at midnight, I decided to return the items in the morning.

I have always had bad luck with this WAGS in the wee hours of the morning (24 hr store) with RR not printing, but this was about 11pm.

So I arrive around 9am this morning to return the two transactions. The manager immediately refuses to return the items since they were RR-producing items. I kindly explained to him that for that very reason, I was returning them. He explains that he has no way of knowing that they did not print. I explained that he did because I was telling him so. I pulled out the other receipts from that night showing him that I am not returning those because they worked fine. I also happened to have about a dozen other WAGS receipts to show my loyalty.

So he says that he will go to the back and figure it out. As it turns out, he is reviewing the security tape. he says that he sees where I got RR and that he has no way of knowing which transactions produced them. I reminded him that he did know because I was telling him (customer is always right).

I never lost my composure by screaming or cursing but I stated my piece over and over again, informing him that he is calling me a liar. I can easily produce 300 receipts from his store for just this year.

He said that he would have to talk to the cashier (who is brand new btw). Funny, because at least half of the "veteran" hourly employees have NO IDEA how RR works.

Any advice on how I should handle this situation going forward AND how to avoid the situation again is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

TIA

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I have also had problems late at night. What has worked for me is having the manager write on the receipt that the RRs did not print. I have never had a problem doing it that way.

For some context. The Wags in my area had a problem with a group of people buying things for the RR and returning them after the RR promotion for cash/GC and claiming, if asked, the RRs did not print. Loss Prevention was involved and Wags was defrauded in literally hundreds of transactions for 1000's of dollars in RRs. Also, they cleared the shelves, so the RR items were not available for regular customers and Wags was stuck with a bunch of extra stock after the sale was over and the items were returned. For a very long time after that happened, my great Wags were not at all cooperative about taking returns of RR items. They had been put on notice by Loss Prevention and were taking no chances with their jobs.

I know that this is not what you are doing. However, it is times like this that legit couponers like you and me get caught in the same net that catches the bad guys.

Sounds like you did great by staying calm and nice. It is tough sometimes, I know.

I think that since it was a new cashier that it might be better for you, because they don't have so many transactions to remember and might be more likely to remember this situation.

I would talk to the store manager and see what their concern is. Do they think that you are a scammer, or have they had other problems lately? Are they worried about Loss Prevention or are they just not taking your concerns seriously? Once you determine their concerns, it will be easier for you to address them.

This situation is made tougher because the security tape will show some RRs being printed, so it might be harder for them to see. I would ask the store manager if he can check how many printed vs. how many should have printed by looking at your receipt.

If you call corporate, they will just refer the call to the store manager, so I would start at the store level and hope to get it resolved there. You also could call Catalina and ask them what you should do.

Also, I had a situation once when the AM had to talk about something not working with the Store Manager. I said that she should tell him that I had done the deal several times at other stores and it had worked. My great AM said, "There is no way that I am going to tell him that. He will consider that amount of coupon use to be suspicious." So, while you and I might consider lots of Wags receipts to be the sign of a loyal customer, to some managers, it will raise a red flag. YMMV.

Good luck!

You can only use one MQ (RR = MQ) per item purchased.
You used a MQ on the razor, 2 * 1/2 on the 4 soups, so you only had one item (newspaper) for which you didn't have a coupon. You should have only been able to use one RR without adding fillers and your fillers would have to bring your subtotal (before taxes) up to at least the amount of the RR you were trying to use. It seems from the issue you had, your store's register system is set up to attach the $1/2 coupon to both cans of soup.

For a very long time after that happened, my great Wags were not at all cooperative about taking returns of RR items.

This was the case at one store I frequent, they always wrote at the top of the receipt which rr's you were handed and they had signs up that clearly stated if you were returning an item purchased that produced a RR they would only give you the difference back- less the RR you received for that product.

I left you a message on this in the 10.4 thread but in any case you could try it.
This is a YMMV as at the stores I go to you can do this, they generally ring up 2.29, 2.29 then at the bottom of the receipt it shows -2.29 BUT many others have posted that they are not allowed to use 2 q's on a bogo.

P&G is the only company that has such a strange exclusion (excludes their own products). Just make sure that you always use the RRs on a different promotion. There are times when the amounts of the RRs are the same, and there are rare issues with using the same amount RR from the same companies, but if you stick with HCW, you'll know those in advance and won't have to worry too much.

Hi - been lurking for a while. First time post. Y'all kick butt. :-)

Walgreens question:
I bought the Gillette MVP Fusion Razor using the $4/1 coupon and got my $6RR. At the same time, I bought 6 Dove hair products using 6 $1/1 coupons.

In all this mess (my first large qty coupon transaction), I failed to realize that I could/should have gotten an item (Fusion refills, shave cream, etc) for free.

What are my chances of getting the free item if I go back to the store with my receipt and ask for it?

Thanks,
GK

I have 2 p&G RR's from the same item...that I puchased at different times...do I need to use them in different purchases? Or can they be used in the same purchase.

You should be able to use them both in one transaction IF your store allows more than one per transaction.

If you can wait until next week, the 18th, the Threraflu will be on sale for $4.99. In order to use the RR, you will need a small filler for this scenario.

It would be:

$14.97 3 Theraflu
- $4 2 Theraflu IPs
-$6 Wags Healthy Savings
-3.50 RR
$1.47 OOP, plus cost of small filler. Get $8 RR.

Thank you so much cbgo! Repped you. The $6 in savings from the healthy savings is that from 1 ($2) Theraflu coupon and it is automatically multiplied three times for the three purchases?

Thanks again :wavehi:

Thanks! Yep, they will scan the $2 Healthy Savings coupon once and it will take off $6 when you buy three. :wavehi:

I have a question about pricing. I bought 4 cans of the Campbells Cream of Mushroom soup. The ad coupon says Buy 1 @ $1.59, Get 1 Free. My receipt shows:

$1.59
$1.41 (1 @ 1/$1.59 - 2/$3.00)
$1.50
$1.50 (1 @ 1/$1.59 - 2/$3.00)

My deduction for the ad coupon is $2.82 ($1.41 for 2 cans) Is this right? I feel like I'm being shorted??

Usually, the products on Mega Saver (2/$3) or 7 day Q, will ring up like that. Either way, the price for 2 will be $3, and $1.41 will be deducted, so it's right- 2/$1.59.

Is there a way to tell by the coding on a $x.xx/2 coupon if it will count as (2) coupons toward my item/coupon count?

I have successfully used $x.xx/2 coupons in the past (Kellogg's) and have been able to use my RR's to pay for my purchase. For example, buy 4 cereals, use (2) $1.50/2 coupons, and then use 2 additional RR's to pay for my purchase. I didn't need any fillers and nothing beeped. I've done this quite a bit.

Yesterday I used the $1.00/2 Campbells IP coupon, and was planning on using the second Campbells soup as my "filler" to use an RR and it beeped, not allowing to do it (I hadn't even handed over the 7day B1G1F coupon so that had nothing to do with it). I was forced to buy a filler since the manager said that the coupon counted as 2 coupons since it covered 2 products.

Is there away to tell the difference, so I can plan my scenarios? Thanks!

miss lacey, do an HCW search for "decoding." HCW rules don't allow much detailed discussion on coupon decoding, since there's lots of room for fraud involved.

You know, questions are OK. While we don't want the discussion about decoding taking off in the direction of encouraging fraud your question is a valid one. However as far as I know there are no coupons or coding for coupons that would make it count as 2 coupons upon scanning. I think that at Walgreens (and I could be wrong) that you cannot have more manufacture coupons than products and Register Rewards count as Manf. coupons, thus you would need a filler. It could be the coding on the RR's that you used previously that let it go through without a filler, or a fluke.

Our paper this weekend had a Walgreens grand opening flier w/ a $3/$10 purchase Q. If I have more than $10 worth of products I am $10?) & offer my $3/$10 Q 1st then offer all my other MQ after, will that work?

I'm quoting myself b/c I just read the fine print on my Q. It says, "Purchase amount is calculated before taxes and after all other Walgreens coupons and discounts are applied."

So, when it says discounts is it also referring to Manufacturer's Q's?

You're right. The $10 is after all coupons (WAG and MQ).

Hey all. I recently started back with couponing at Walgreen's and was sort of shocked to hear they took the ES away and replaced it w/ RRs but have been pleasantly surprised with getting much better savings with using RRs+coupons on sale items.

Anyhow, my question is what is the best way to utilize my RRs.

Last week I visited 4 different times to do 4 different transactions to take advantage of the same RR deals a few times over since I am unsure if my store is OK w/ doing multiple transactions at one time. That meant 4 different trips to the store. Not that I mind, I like to get out of the house, especially to save money and all but it's also somewhat of a pain to have to do multiple outings to one store since I have to work around my fiance's schedule and we have 1 car and all.

If it makes more sense in way of savings to continue this way, I will since it's 2 mins away f/ my house anyways... but could my savings be just as good, if not better, if I just get all of my RR deals at once then use the RRs I earned for the following week? Or better yet, I find it so time consuming to sit at home and come up with scenarios on how to get the biggest bang for my buck, where can I see examples of scenarios to try out?

Thanks in advance to any replies. I apologize if this question is a do-over, but couldn't sift through 74 pages to find it lol

Depending on your store, you might be allowed to do multiple transactions. Personally, I don't. I don't like to draw unnecessary attention to myself, and I don't clear the shelves to get multiple items.
As for scenarios, they are posted in the weekly thread with the ad scans. We (Mods) do our best to keep the posted deals added to the beginning of the tread, but we have lives outside coupons, and it doesn't always happen as fast as some people would like (including us Mods).

Thanks for the response :) I must have missed the scenarios posted so will go take a look. I hate drawing attention to myself as well, but feel like no matter which way I do Walgreens, w/ tons of coupons they're bound to remember me anyhow.

Most of the stores around here try to keep them because they're some sort of "special" coupons. Other members have posted that they are able to keep them, so I guess it's YMMV.
These coupons (in the activity book) are not to be used on sale merchandise. Posting about using them on sale merchandise on HCW will result in the post being deleted and infraction points may be issued, since that is against the wording of the coupons.

It was posted in the weekly deal thread that they had successfully rolled the Vaseline onto the Dove and the Dove into the Ragu. All three are unilever products. Here is the link (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/walgreens/277723-current-walgreen-ad-october-11-october-17-a-4.html#post2069647) to the comment.

I have rolled unilever into unilever in the past, but haven't done the deal this week.

Hi! Sorry these questions might have already been asked, but I don't have time to scan through 51 pages to find out :giggle2:. Okay, can you use IP's at Walgreens? And If the ad says Limit 1 coupon printed per offer like on Gillette Fusion razors but I have 5 coupons, could I do 5 seperate transactions and get the $6 RR each transaction?
Thanks for the help!!

Yes, you should be able to use IPs.

You can do 5 separate transactions and get the $6 RR each time. In most cases, if you use the RR from an offer to pay for the same offer, the RR will not print. The Fusion razor is a P&G product and the RR has special wording stating that it can't be used to purchase P&G items. So, you might want to roll the razor RRs into something else and then roll those RRs back into the razors.

Is there a list of what P&G Items are? I"m trying to roll the $6 RR i got last week into the zantac and theraflu items this week and then hopefully a couple more razors.
