I just saw this in next weeks ad. Hopefully that will open up some new deals at Giant. It's been rather tired for the longest time at Giant!

Yeah, that's great news! They probably were forced to do this to keep up with HT. Hopefully Safeway, Shoppers and Bloom will follow soon, hehe!

Seriously, with Bloom, HT and Superfresh triples and the Shoppers Food Warehouse tripling up to .50 and doubling $1, I haven't been to Giant much.

yeah, I have to say I haven't been to Giant except for the occassional quick run in and get something because they are right around the corner.

i suspect that they are noticing the bulk of people doing that.

Thanks for posting, one of the best things about this that I can view the Stop & Shop ( sister store of Giant) threads and score like they do when ther is a great deal that involves doubling of .75 coupons.

Now if they only start having delas like they used to :sigh2:

My ad came out and there is no mention of this change. Their website still says they double up to $0.50. I live in Fredericksburg, VA.

They are doubling in Warrenton, VA (Fauquier County) as of the ad yesterday.

Well I broke down and called the Giant up the street and yes they too are changing it.
Thanks so much for letting us know. Without HCW I would never have known that. :BigHand:
Guess I will wait to go shopping until tomorrow.

Well, I have gone in for the Rx giftcard deal and I've bought chicken some BS chicken breasts. They seem to have the best price and the better quality. I prefer their packs over Blooms, they just seem yucky. :rolleyes24:

But that's it. I can't wait to see what good deals I can try to find now.

BTW, the current F'brg ad does show the doubling up to $.99!

I shop at Giant for their meats that are on sale for the week, last week was steaks $4.99lb. The meat is always fresh at Giant and now maybe I'll find other deals with coupons doubled to .99.

I noticed in the ad yesterday, a $5/$50 coupon. I think we can reach that with the doubles. We tend to buy a lot. But does it have to be $50 after or before the coupons, i didn't see anything in the coupon mentioning that. So i'm guessing that $50 before other coupons is fair game. Another thing, i noticed that it said we now double, does that mean from now on? Like harris teeter. or is it just this week?

:hysterical: I am absolutely loving it. We don't have super fresh near us. But i was telling my sister we now live in double world. With HT tripling and shoppers doubling and tripling, now giant too it's too awesome :biggrin:

The rude cashiers and the $4 cats did me in at Giant. Then they didn't even send the coupons they promised me for my complaints.

I happily drove past Giant to get to Harris Teeter today to pay 4 cents more per pound for chicken!! Between Bloom triples, HT triples, and Shoppers super doubles, I definitely have not missed Giant.

But now I am tempted to go get .25 Pillsbury brownies...on sale til March...must resist...

The pillsbury fudge brownies are 10/$10 til March sometime. It was in the ad of the month-long sales. I saw .75/2 ANY pillsbury brownies or frosting, so doubled that should make it .25/box. not free, but i need more brownies and the long sale gives me plenty of time to order coupons.

Our coupon is for $1/2 for the browines. It won't double, so they'd end up being $1 each. I won't be buying those. : (
