View Full Version : CVS ~ Store Coupon CVS: What did you get? Weekly CVS Cash Register Tape coupons!

CRT (cash register tape) coupons are the promotional coupons from CVS that print at the bottom of your receipt. They generally have an expiration date that is 2 weeks or so away, but cannot be reset like the ECBs. These can be combined with manufacturer coupons for greater savings!
There is no guarantee that you will get the same coupons that are posted here, but it's a good way to get a heads-up on what might print. CVS also seems to put out coupons for things that may be going on sale in the next few weeks.

Can you explain this a little? I've never heard of scanning your card somewhere in the store and getting coupons out...except for on the receipt when you buy something.
Confused :)
Does your store have a red (or gray) price check scanner? If so, scan your card's barcode and if any coupons/crts are available (and the machine has paper) they will print out of the side. Keep scanning after each print until the screen says no more coupons available today.

How many times do you scan your card when you are at the store? I just tried it for the first time yesterday and it gave me two coupons. Many are listing more than two in this thread so does that mean multiple swipes on the same visit or does the machine just love you all more, lol. TIA.
multiple swipes. i keep checking till it says "no coupons: check back tomorrow".
the other clue is, once you get a cvs house brand set, you are d o n e !

ok i have read this whole thread and i still have a few questions. first.... everyone here is talking about a machine that is separte from the check out progress. i looked it up and there is only 1 store in charlotte that has this "MAGIC" machine. so if the store does not have it does that mean i am out of luck???? so only the lucky ones get "magic" every now and then?
nope- the same coupons print on the receipt when you check out. some people get them on the way in, some on the way out. if you are curious, buy something small when you first get there to see what coupons you have.
on occasion, if i'm fast enough, i get a set coming AND going. same/same.
all of them are offers at the registers, and can print either way.

Hi
I am new to all this so can someone please tell me what the crt coupons are? Where do I scan my card or does the cashier do this for me? thanks in advance, rebecca
they are the coupons that print on the bottom of the cash register tape. ( crt).
some stores also have a scanner, so you can get them on the way in to the store, but if you don't do that, they print on your way out, on the tape.
( cvs calls them OARS, for offers at the register.)

im sorry if this has already been answered but i couldn't find it. i always scan my card when i first get to cvs and i get the coupons from the scanner but i never get anything on my receipt.(crts?) so my question is are the coupons im getting from the scanner the same as what i WOULD get from the crt if i didnt use the scanner when i first got there?
Yep!

I'm confused when everyone is talking about CRTs. Everyone keeps talking about scanning their card, are they doing this at checkout when you ring up purchases or is there someplace else to scan your card to receive coupons? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Everyone.
Sure... Ask your store if they have a scanner. The scanner is used to check prices and also to scan your card to receive CRT. New stores have the scanner, and now some older stores across the US are getting it.

Well I felt like a kid at Christmas today. As soon as I walked into my CVS this morning my favorite cashier greeted me and told me to go and scan my card on the new scanner. When I looked where she was pointing, there it was. Woohoo we finally received a Coupon scanning machine at our store. So of course, I almost ran over and this is what I received when I scanned my card:
$2 off any Viologie hair care
$1.50 off Sensodyne 4 oz. + Iso-Active
$5 off any Photo Greeting card purchase
$2.00 off any 2 Dove hair products
My register tape also gave me:
$2.00 off any 2 Mennen Speedstick
Now here is my question:
How often can I scan my card and if I do it more than once in a week will I receive the same coupons or different ones. My CVS cashier & manager want to know also.
Thanks all!
Good for you! You can scan your card every day until the scanner says no coupons available check tomorrow. However, you are not going to receive good coupons every time you scan. Usually, CVS puts out new coupons on Mondays. The last 2 coupons you'll receive after the good ones will be for CVS products and those are the everyday coupons. You can scan your card every day and you will receive those. The good coupons are usually once per week, sometimes nore often. When I say "good coupons", I mean Dove, Colgate, Viologie, etc... Sometimes you will receive $/$$. I got the Dove coupons, and the the Speedstick ones this Monday too.

The $1/any CVS paper and $1/any CVS skin care is still printing. The single roll bath tissue is 2/$1 this week and next week CVS tissues will be .99 so I hope to get by to scan the card more to get some for that next week.

I finally got my first $/$$ CRT today!! It is a $5/$40, so I have no idea what I'm going to use it on. If the All You for May hits shelves in time I may see about working that Nivea deal. I also got $2/$6 on gift wrap and bows, $3/2 bags of Dove, M&Ms, or Snickers. The skincare and paper product CRTs seem to be over. It looks like they have been replaced with $1/1 Absolutely Divine cookies and $2/2 Banana Boat.

I was two blocks away from CVS and I remembered that I left my $5/30 on the desk at home. I thought oh well, maybe I will get one out of the scanner, which I never do, but the scanner was broken. Not a good day at CVS

I got the same coupons from the scanner too today and believe it or not, I was really hoping for the CVS paper one for the first time :hysterical: because I could have gotten a large box of CVS tissue free. Silly, I know.
Anyhoo, they did have M&M's on sale for $3/bag for the 11 oz size so I got that for 2/$3 instead with the coupon.
Don't know if the sale next week will find me using the $5/$40 or not....

I did not realize my level of CVS addiction until losing that card. Not the multiple weekly trips or having enough stuff to open my own drug store. Having a home-made card would make it official! Thank you all for being so understanding... and being my supportive enablers!! :giggle2:

Ok, hit two CVS today and scanned at both, got the following
Store #1
$1.50 off Axe Deodorant
Buy One Godiva Chocolate Almond or Strawberry 2oz bag, get 1 FREE ($3.99)
$1 off New Frizz-Ease Smooth Start shampoo or conditioner
$1.50 off one Degree Adrenaline Series
Store #2
$1 off any 2 Absolutely Divine Cookies, excludes trial size
$2 off any 2 Banana Boat Sun Care items - excludes lip and sticks
But while poking around looking at the limited 75% off stuff, I did come across a nice carrying case for the Digital 7" TV for $2.50, regularly $9.99 so I snatched that up for the little TV I bought there when it was on sale. It was on sale for $79.99 but I managed to get that down to $64 with ECB's, so it was nice to find the carrying case (didn't even know they had one!) on sale.
I really was still hoping for the $1 off CVS paper products for the tissues though :giggle2:

OMG the drought is over. I'm also getting lots of good q's and I got 2 $5/40 on the same card. I thought the scanner was malfunctioning. Now I see a lot of us are getting them. I can't believe I'm excited about $5/40.
And the stayfree is $2/9 starting tomorrow. I haven't "paid" for pads in a long time but .50 a piece is not bad. It will help me get to the $40 mark.

So far, a consistant $3 off $15 purchase. Today I got that, plus some for coffee and Coke, neither of which I drink, so I passed on those. But, it also gave me $1.00 off the Brawny paper towels which are on sale. They were sold out so the coupon savvy young lady at the register worked it for me to buy three of the two packs of towels at the same price. (She's a sweetie!)
I was wondering about stopping in and scanning each day to see what it gives me.
Oh, and I didn't realize I had All coupons til I was going through them this morning before I left. Got that deal, too, plus the Xtra detergent. Had $1.00 off on those, and got them for .99 each.
This CVS-ing is addictive!
