Hi everyone :wavehi:
I wanted to take a quick moment to remind the HCW community about the importance of thread titles and tagging.
In order to help other members and guests search threads better for what they are looking for it is really important that we remember to title our threads well. This is most important in the deal threads in the various store forums. Please include the name of the store in the thread title whenever possible when you start a new thread. So if you are posting a hot deal in the Walmart forum please title your thread "Walmart: Hot deal on whatchamacallits X 12/31/08"
If you know the expiration date of the deal please try to include this is the thread as well.
If there is a hot new $/$ printable coupon that you want to post about please title your thread accordingly so that others can easily search for that thread. Example "Walgreens: $5/$25 Printable Coupon X 12/15/08"
Additionally every member can tag threads with keywords that would help others find that thread.
At the end of the page in a thread (right above the post message box) you will see the option to add tags that are relevant to the topic at hand. This is helpful to those that want to do a tag cloud search for words that are too short or too common for the search feature here at HCW to search for. Currently you cannot search for terms that are shorter that 3 letters. So things like "CVS" is unsearchable as well as $5 or $25. But you can search in the tag cloud search for those shorter terms.
You do not need to do tons of keywords in the tags but a few key tags can be helpful to those that are looking for a particular post.
Both of these things are simple things that each and every one of us can to to help others find the threads they are looking for when searching and just makes the site easier to use for newbies and guests.
If you have any questions about tagging or thread titles please do not hesistate to ask and we will try answering them.
Thanks for making HCW the best!
