HCW touted on KY3 in Springfield MO

Well I was on KY3 again on Sunday Morning on their new morning show with coupon tips on how to save money. They still have a short story link on their website with a link to HCW. I love this board and I love also being able to share it with new couponers. I am also teaching a coupon class to benefit my daughter's cheerleading booster club although I will admit that I am nervous about it. I am trying to put the finishing touches on the workshop. I am just nervous that I will have some coupon haters show up because they already commented on the story on KY3 and although I admit to having thick skin most of the time it kind of hurt my feelings. Anyways thought I would share the news that there will be another influx of new members I am sure from the Springfield, MO area. Welcome all new Springfield members!!!!:wavehi:

Congratulations! Sorry to hear there are a few raining on your parade. Just know that for every one bad apple you meet thru sharing your coupon expertise there is a whole bushel basket of us apples here on HCW backing you. AND the number of people you will help and the ripple effect of them then helping others will far outweigh those few who have to be against what you are doing. No matter how thick our skin, our hearts are always vulnerable--but that is what makes us want to share this great hobby of ours: hearts that remain soft. I think what you are doing is fantastic!!

Neither can I. Most of the people I work with love hearing my stories about going grocery shopping or to CVS. They can't believe all the money I save through coupons and the things that I have learned on this board in the last month.

Tammy, don't be offended. I've had that happen on a number of stories. I did one for WLWT in Cincinnati and the first 10-15 posts were negatives about how I must feed my kids nothing but junk since I use coupons, and that they'll be the biggest fatties. (if they met my son, who is 20 lbs underweight, they'd bite their tongue) I had others saying I must be in debt up to my eyeballs b/c I use coupons and save $600-$800 a month. That after I'd said in the piece that my family was debt-free. None of it made any sense!

Well I taught the class tonight and it went well. It made me a little nervous since there was a store manager of some sort sitting in the back but I felt that I did ok. I told people to be good couponers and be nice to cashiers, check coupons on the HCW website as well CIC website if it seems too good to be true, etc. I was just so nervous but everyone was so friendly and nice.

I've been lurking on the board, but saw Tammy on television & a co-worker and I attended her presentation last night! Great job Tammy! She was a delight to meet in person! She was so helpful and showed us some of her tricks, and her binders. She gave a very relevant presentation and got us all very excited about saving money! We are going to have to take her out to lunch! (with a coupon of course) Thanks Tammy, very very great!
