Dear HCW
I have been cutting coupons for years. I have a travel bag full when I go to the grocery store. I meet other couponers and shoppers (and yes, I hand them coupons when I see things in their carts and feel that they would be receptive.) I absolutely love saving money.

But the bigger thing is that my 16-year-old daughter has a degenerative brain disease and has grand mal seizures. She is having brain surgery in January. When I start to get upset and depressed about her, I pick up my coupons and sort, sort, sort. Couponing not only saves me money, it helps save my sanity.

This Thanksgiving for the first time in a long time I could actually afford a very nice meal made at home. I even had a ham AND a turkey (turkey free with the ham). Thanks to Kraft and the coupons for free pudding, I bought a second turkey 10 dollars off and the store chipped in 8 bucks).

So to all the HCW moderators and folks who run the site, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for the nice Thanksgiving. I will take my coupons and my laptop with me to the hospital as we will be there for quite some time. They will be placing leads on my daughter's brain and waiting for her to have a seizure; then a second surgery once those results are in.....(very sad). She is losing her memory now, so we cannot wait much longer.

Okay, so that is my story.

Thank you for this site. It affects my life and my family's life every day.
