Update - mfr coupons w/ store logo

I have several $1/1 Ragu mfr coupons that have a foodlion logo on the upper rt corner. They have a regular barcode and don't say anything about being good only at Food Lion - just the standard redemption wording at the bottom. The cashier and mgr at my comm told me they can no longer accept coupons w/ another store logo on them because they won't get reimbursed and that these coupons are meant to be only used at Food Lion. I'm wondering if this is correct.

i've only tried this one time a long time ago and was refused so not bothered since.
i do not know if they get reimbursed or not. i would think any store would get $ back. you might want to call RAGU and ask them if they care where it's redeemed ?

i use 18 of these coupons yesterday at my kroger.13 ws ragu and 5 was lawry's and i didn't have a problem.

I used 2 wishbone at Giant, and yesterday I used 2 wishbone, plus 1 Ragu at Weis. The self checkout even took the coupons, although I had to have the self-checkout cashier help me get all the coupons through the system. I live in Central Pa. and have no ide where the closest Food Lion even is located.

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to email DECA on Monday. Hopefully I'll get a repsonse quickly from them. I know some stores like Rite-Aid have coupons that say mfr and also state "only good at Rite-Aid", so I'm wondering if they are confusing my coupons w/ something like these. Hope so since there are some good deals at the commissary w/ the Ragu, Wishbone and Lawrys $1/1. I'll let you know.

A while back I used the 3.00 off Scot t.p. had a Publix logo. Used it at K-Mart , the cashier said they could take any Manf. coupon reguardless of any logos.

Would DEFINITELY be interested in knowing whether or not the military commissaries accept catalinas from other stores! Please keep us posted on what you find zookeepermel!!

For me personally I can't. I had a Publix Q but couldn't bring myself to even try. It was a tiny little logo. The person who traded it to me wasn't even aware it was a Publix Q until I Pm'd her about it. When i thought about using it, it felt like I was trying to cheat the comm so I threw it away. I'd be interested in hearing what Deca says about it. Please keep us posted. :smile:

It depends on the coupon, if it says specifically "redeemable only at Publix" then I don't think the commissary will take it. But I'm sure I've used coupons with the Publix logo & FL logo there before. I don't know why they wouldn't take them. They will get reimbursed (so long as its a manufacturers coupon with no exclusions).

I knew that I had heard that DECA won't accept coupons from other stores so I checked their website. Under FAQs it does say that "Commissaries CANNOT accept "in-house" coupons issued by commercial grocery stores or supermarkets."

DECA Directive prohibits use of other store specific coupons.

You need adobe acrobat reader to bring up this publication.
Click on DECAD 40-6 link. Go to Chapter 7 which deals with coupons.
Section 7-4 is the coupon acceptance procedure
If you read the whole 40-6, please disregard the part about using more than 1 coupon per item.
It is no longer valid and is superseded by a directive letter stating such.

Finally - A reply to my question about using mfr. coupons w/ another store logo on them w/ a regular barcode and no exclusionary wording (ex. redeemable only at xyz store). Looks like we should be able to use them. I have already thrown out my FoodLion Ragu coupons that started this whole thing. Thanks to everyone for their responses.

Unfortunately, without visually inspecting the coupon in question I cannot make a judgement call. Normally, if there are no exclusions stated on the coupon and all other conditions are met, than the coupon should be redeemable. If there is any uncertainty, we will be happy to call the manufacturer for clarification.

I've never had a problem using a coupon with a store logo on it...so long as it said "manu" somewhere, had the regular submission info & scanned.
