Oh my gosh! Me on Dave Ramsey show??!!

OH my - I'm so excited and yet scared to death - someone from the Dave Ramsey show just called me and asked me to be on the show - live...on air....to talk about the deals I get by using coupons and shopping at RA and CVS. Oh my gosh. He has been asking for people to write in with their 'How I Find the Deals' stories, so I wrote in and told them about how using coupons has saved our family so much, and allowed me to build a decent stockpile of stuff. I never expected them to call about being on air!! Yikes! LOL

It will be next Tuesday around noon our time. I have a list made up with some of the recent GE deals LOL Things like Muir Glen and Duracell batteries. I mean, I could go on and on - but I have no idea what all I should say! LOL I'm freakin' :-) but in a good way!

I know what you mean about being nervous. I went to the Oprah website one time and they were asking for people to write in about strange things people save or things people won't part with. I don't remember exactly but it was along those lines. I wrote in and told them my husband has his wisdom teeth of 30 years in his garage toolbox.

Sure enough I got home one day and there was a message from one of Oprah's assistants asking me to call them back. I called them back but chickened out. My husband wasn't too thrilled about the world knowing about his teeth.

LOL - don't worry, I won't mention GE - just my 'local grocery store' - I totally don't want to give away all the secrets....I think I'm going to stick more with coupon shopping and just touch lightly on the RA/CVS type stuff - you know just the general 'they have a rebate program' that allows you to get much needed personal care items really cheap or free as long as you use coupons and watch the sales ads. I mean, I would love if I could help people, but I don't want everyone to decide to come in and wipe out the stores LOL Or worse yet, jump in head-first and not know even the general rules of coupons (like no photocopying).

I'm going to have to type everything up though, because while I love public speaking...the Dave Ramsey show is way bigger than any crowd I've talked to before LOL

OH - and I'll definitely give a shoutout to HCW LOL :-)

Congratulations! You'll be awesome! Just be confident knowing you are teaching THEM because you know more then they do. It's just a bunch of average joes like you and me listening and so no worries. And, there is a reason they asked you. Because you have some kind of knowledge that in general other people know. So, be confident that you are one ahead. :wink7:

She said in her followup email that they'll call me between 12:30 and 1:30pm to get me on air. And something about it airing at 8 EST...but didnt say AM or PM.

I usually watch the show at night on tv if I have a chance, and sometimes listen to it in the afternoon on the radio if it happens to be on while I'm flipping through the stations in the car....so I'm not sure exactly when it's on! LOL I've been downloading the podcasts for my mom - but the sound has been acting up on my computer so I haven't had a chance to listen to much. But as far as I know they put the podcast up every day of that's day's show...so it should be available for d/l eventually.

This cracked me up because I am "saver" also. My 68 yo mother still has her umbilical cord. She keeps it in an envelope wrapped in gauze - we used to pull it out every once in a while when we were kids and say how gross it was. I told her that I want it if she ever decides to throw it away. So guess what I have saved from my 10 yo DS.:giggle2: You guessed it - I still have his umbilical cord. I also have every tooth he ever lost, the hair from his first haircut, and I even saved a big chunk of scalp that came off from cradle cap. My DH says it is a good thing I wasn't there when they did his circumcism.:whistle67: Don't tell Oprah.:hysterical::hysterical:
