I was so shocked after my trip today to Kroger that I started to laugh nervously :nervous7:(of course, I also thought I was going to have a hard time with Kroger when I saw the total).
I went today because I had $8 in cats that were going to exp today. I got:
2x Sunny Delight @ $1 each (10/10 sale)
1x Disney Precut/packaged Apples @ $3 (on sale, thought they were $3.99)
2x Celestial Seasonings Tea @ $1 each (10/10 sale)
1x Pillsbury Honey Biscuits, 8 ct @ 1.39
1x Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, 8 ct @ $2.20
1x Pillsbury Flaky Twist, Chocolate $0.50 (manager special)
--------------------------------------------------------
-0.55 MQ (Sunny D)
-2.00 MQ ($1 each Celestial Seasonings)
-0.75 MQ (blinkie, off 3 any pillsbury item)
-4.00 CAT - Glade
-4.00 Cat - Glade
Total Cost: $0.01 :excited2:
Coupon Savings & Kroger Card Savings: $19.37
Not to mention, I picked up a beer tag for up to $4 of the purchase of any bagged apples or any produce (nbpr). Hoping that means $2.99 MM. Either way, that is the CHEAPEST I have ever gotten any groceries.
Thank you all for all the tips and great info! :THANKS6:

I bought too much to list out, but will give totals. I didn't notice until I got home, but I didn't get the $15 I was due for the mega sale. I called after I got home and looked at the receipt, and they said it wasn't working today (my luck), and to bring my receipt in and they'd give me my $15. Why they didn't bother to tell me when I checked out that it wasn't working is beyond me.
Hubby was with me and rushing, or it would have been better. The girl I checked out through took forever with the coupons, and needed help on each one. The CSM helping her, looked at my coupon total when I was done, and said you did very good, if she only knew what it could have been. When the cashier got done she says, I've never been good with coupons, sure wish I could do this. Then I said, I didn't even get through the other 40 coupons I have with me., I thought her eyeballs were going to pop out. I used 37 the way it was.
Anyway my totals:
$88.67 before coupons
$43.34 in coupons
oop $45.33 (should have been $30.33)
Total savings with coupons and Kroger Plus card $71.95

Ok...I guess it must have not been working for me either. I bought 20 items and my $10 didn't come off. The MANAGER told me that since I didn't buy 10 from each price grouping, I wouldn't get $10 off. B-S. And of course customer service is closed. But I will be calling in the morning and getting my money back. SO MAD, because it was otherwise a perfect transaction. All my shortcuts and e-saver Qs came off, and all my paper coupons were scanned and doubled as they should have been. My total was exactly what I thought it would be...plus $10 :mad20:

Just got back from Krgoer, and had to brag. I got:
10 boxes of Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate, $2.19, on sale for $1.00
20 boxes of Fruit by the Foot (Boo Berry & Franken Berry) $2.79, on sale for $.50
(They had a buggy full of them. I would have gotten more, but didn't want to be too greedy so I only got 20 :whistle67:.)
My coupons: (5) Swiss Miss $1/2 IP's (search the coupon database)
I got $5 off three times with the mega sales event specials!!!
So:
$77.70 retail
-$57.70 sale discounts
-$5.00 coupon discount
-$15.00 mega sales discount
= tax, which was $.40
You should have seen the look on the cashiers face. Priceless...

We were out of milk tonight so I headed to Kroger. I had read in one of the Kroger topics that the Booberry/Frankenberry fruit roll-ups were on clearance and counted towards the mega-event so I went searching.
They had stuck what they had left over - and it wasn't much - next to the other fruit roll-ups. I picked up 10 packages and a gallon of milk and headed to the register.
They rang up at .70! So.....
10 x fruit roll-ups = 7.00
Gallon of milk = 3.69
- .50/2 x 5 coupons (doubled)
- 5.00 mega event discount
- .10 bag buyback
Final cost - .79!
The cashier said "DAGGONE! You got all that for under a dollar!"

Except for the cheese, these were all newspaper insert Qs. The cheese Qs were blinkies.
It still surprises me when I come home with so much for so little... When you compare that to what it costs for lunch at a burger joint... well y'all know what I mean.
Of course, one of the reasons I like to save money on food and other things is so that I can afford to eat out occasionally and do stuff I might not otherwise be able to.

Yesterday I went and found a peelie on the Dial soap that is $.88 And I had a .35q that doubled to .70 so it was .18. The peelie was Save $1.00 on one (1) Dial Hand soap Refill (40oz. or larger) exp. 12/31/09
I bought 7 items and spent $7.10, I only had 2 q's so not too bad....most of the things were 'closeout items'.
I got Cottonelle for .97 and had a .50 q for the Cottonelle (so that was free!!)The Oust (Citrus Scent only) was closeout priced at $1.99 and I had a q with me b1g1, so I got 2, 1 free.
The rest was 3 things of Band -Aids, 2 brand name, 1 Kroger brand all 3 different size pkgs. 1 was $1.19 (Kroger brand 45 assorted latex free foam bandages) was originally 2 something or more, 1 was .77 (Band-Aid brand 10 butterfly closures), orig. 3 something I believe, and the last was 1.97 (Band-Aid Water Block Plus finger care 20ct.), orig. 2 or 3 something. So I figured I saved at least $10. And we needed Band-Aids!! ;)

Can anyone tell me if Kroger will accept unlimited IPs and if there is an overall limit on the number of qs you can use (like HT)??? I have to go tomorrow and don't want to be embarrassed. Can you go more than once a day?
