This is where you will post your pics and brag about the great deals you got at CVS.

I know how excited you can get when you get a fabulous deal at CVS. Just yesterday I expressed at work what a great shopping day I had on Sunday. They're used to me and my coupons. LOL Anywho, I wanted to say that you need to think before you come on here and brag. Ask yourself these questions.
Was what I bought and the coupons I used 100% above board?
CVS has household limits. Did I go way beyond those limits?
If something I bought was in short supply to others should I really show my picture of the 20 I got?
If the employees at my CVS(s) saw this picture/brag what would they think?

Some things, while still "legal" to post about here on HCW, should be thought through carefully before posting.

Awesome job girl!
Mod- Have a question..When I once listed that a manager substituted a product for me, like this person did, you gave me an infraction...So are we allowed to substitute products with managers permission or not? Not trying to start trouble, just want clarification...

Your infraction was for misuse of the Nivea coupon. If the manager wants to allow a product substitution for a sale item that is fine but, any coupon used still has to be good on the product substituted.

Sorry, what is an infraction and how do you know if you have one?

it's a boo-boo, and can earn a scolding or a time-out. but, first you get a warning, then you get an infraction, so you have plenty of chances to follow the rules before you get into trouble. don't worry about it- most people never get one in their entire career here!

It was a cold, crisp night. I had a long 3 hour trip ahead of me and if I timed it right I would get home in time to see Private Practice but would miss Grey's Anatomy. My mom had given me permission to help her at CVS as she had not ever really used the ECB program. As I drove I realized I would be passing a small town with a CVS. I decided to stop in. Virgin territory for me, lol.

A fresh card, with no deals done yet for the month or the week! A new CVS, with lots of my wish list in stock. No ECB's to start, but I had taken coupons with me and I was prepared for the hunt!

Quickly I gathered 5 Colgate Totals, 2 Neutragena bars, 8 cotton rounds, 2 Earinse, a Fusion Gamer razor, and an Airborne Squid soap.

I approached the counter; the store had light business at that hour. In fact, the cashier was trying to vacuum the floor. I mentioned that I wanted to do multiple transactions...and she said no problem.

I started small, with just 2 Colgates. My mom got the $5/$15 purchase coupon and the $25 off a new or transferred prescription coupon as well, right off the bat! Jackpot! I then proceeded to do numerous transactions. I stepped aside whenever anyone else came to the register. Then we started up again. This was the most helpful cashier I had ever encountered! I told her I had "studied up" to prepare for the visit; she started rooting for the ECB's that were printing out. Midway through the transactions she reached behind the counter and gave me next week's ad. Later, she gave me the March monthly ad as well!

Once I finished my mom's stuff I went back and got the Fusion Gamer and 3 more Colgate for myself. More transactions! And I got the $5/15 coupon, too! And the $3/2 shampoos, etc. What a night!

I left with my mom's ECB's totalling near $26 and I had spent around $11 OOP for her: $3.40, $.60, $.21, $.00, $4.55, $2.26.

My own transactions were $.39, and $.82, adding to the one I had for $.27 earlier in the week. My ECB's were growing, too. As I continued my trip I went over the transactions in my head, trying to determine if I could have minimized the OOP any further than I had. By the time I got home, I missed seeing Private Practice, but I still had a big smile on my face from the good experience at CVS with the well stocked store, nice and helpful cashier, and all the great ECB deals! Thanks, HCW for showing me how to shop CVS!

lakies...I love the 'story' format! LOL!! I am still on the edge of my seat though, what did your Mom think after her shopping experience with you? ;)

Thanks! She is now visiting one of my siblings, so I plan to take a bag of CVS finds and freebies to her the next time I go to visit her. She does not really understand the ECB program and when I tried to explain why she should get her prescriptions filled there for the $25 free gift card she said she did not want to use the gas to drive to the CVS (maybe 4 - 5 miles?) and that she could walk to the local pharmacy. :) (God Bless the moms who grew up in the Depression era--they have so much to teach us!) So I thought the best way was, with her permission, get the stuff and show her after the fact. I already gave her one of the Sambucols I got in January, so I am breaking her in a bit at a time!

How do the ECB work? If you spend so much you get those back. I was disappointed when I didn't get any printed back off.

You start by getting a CVS Extra Care card and studying the weekly ad and the monthly ad. Look for the deals with the extra bucks back.

You start to get in the CVS cycle of savings--getting the stuff you use but when they have ECB's.

Then you get hooked...and start buying stuff you may not need but could donate somewhere...because you actually make $$ when you buy it!

For example, last week there was a weekly sale on Colgate Total, on sale for $2.99 and you got back $2.99 in ECB's so the Total was free! And if you had a coupon on it you made money!

Then there are the twists on the weekly specials, like last week the Neutragena buy two items get $10 in ECB's. Turns out the Neut. face soap bars worked for the deal and they were $2.99 each. So buying two of those for $5.98 genereated an ECB of $10. A money maker of $4.02 :) .

Then there are the coupons that you get from CVS for $/$$--like $5/$15 purchase. Now CVS is paying you to shop there! CVS also gives you coupons for items in the store, and these can be stacked with the manufacturer's coupon.

Then there are the gift cards you can get for transferring a prescription to CVS if you have one of their coupons for it or a competitor's coupon. Those gift cards help you with your out of pocket.

And then, CVS will give you 2% back on your spending each quarter!

Coupons + Extra Care Bucks + CVS coupons + CVS $/$$ coupons + CVS gift cards for prescriptions + quarterly $ back....that's what is so great about CVS!

it's a boo-boo, and can earn a scolding or a time-out. but, first you get a pm, then you get a warning, then you get an infraction, so you have plenty of chances to follow the rules before you get into trouble. don't worry about it- most people never get one in their entire career here! I opened up my email one day and said I had a message which was from a moderator. I had received an infraction for something I posted. I honestly was not aware that I had done anything wrong, call it ignorance on my part. I don't recall receiving a warning such as to remove the post or else. Also, the infraction never expires. I am upset that it is on my record but what can one do you know.

Not the best of deals to be had when it comes to diapers, but still a good deal- in my eyes, anytime you're out of pocket a buck or so, it's a good deal kind of a shopping trip. And you can put the $4 ECB to good use this coming week- there will be more school supply freebies where you'll be able to keep the ECBs rolling. If you have another CVS card handy (and ECBs to pick up the difference), why not try repeating this, grabbing an autofill q booklet from the pharmacy and adding another $2 of something you need to make it a slightly better deal?

Today was so much fun. I got:

2 different L'Oreal wrinkle creams (the duo eye cream and one other)
2 packs of L'Oreal towelettes
1 pair of headphones
2 mini composition books
2 packs of filler paper
2 packs of pens
6 first aid kits
The double Sunday paper (the local paper bundles the early and late edition for one price - double the coupons!)

I spent about $3 OOP (most of it sales tax) and I wound up with about a $7 ECB profit when all was said and done.

(By the way the last First Aid Q's are beeping but my Cashier pushed it thru)

If you buy an equal number of kits to coupons, the last one will beep to be adjusted since the coupons are for $1 and the kits are 99 cents. But if you buy one more kit than you have coupons, they won't beep (but you won't get the last one for free ;) ).

I grabbed 6 first aid kits, and they all had white stickers over the barcode. So the manager rang them in as "taxable"... I said something, because I had coupons, but he agreed to push the coupons through... but then I realized once I was home that the ECB's did not print.. duh! Do you think they will force them to?

I'm new to CVS'ing, but I thought I did pretty well here.

I picked up a set of dive rings, dive sticks, a package of four balls and a package of beach toys for a total cost, including tax of $2.53. After deducting my ECBs of $1.98, total OOP was only $.55!

I'll be saving all this stuff for when my grandson comes to visit and/or goes to the beach with us next summer!

I took this week as an opportunity to build my stash of ECBs back up. The CVS deals were lacking for so many weeks, that my ECBs were about to expire! So I used them all up last week.

That meant that I needed to take advantage of that great AccuChek monitor deal this week. I did two transactions to walk away with $17 extra bucks!

Here was the summary:

Paid $12.90 oop
Saved $65.49
Walked out with $17 ECB

You can visit my blog, if you want to see the whole deal played out in detail!!!

My husband was so proud of himself that he asked I post this just incase you ladies haven't found it yet! We are both very new to this coupon world so please bare with me =)

We went to CVS Sunday evening after cutting out our coupons and he decided to get some of the Herbal Essence Shampoo & Conditioner. These were onsale for $3 and then we had coupons for a buy a shampoo or conditioner and get a styling product free. We also had some $1 off Shampoo and Conditioner, too which made this an awesome deal for us. (I am so sorry, but I'm not sure which week these coupons came from, but we only buy the Sunday paper so if you buy those you should have them!!) So we had $12 towards the P&G deal for the $10 off Transformers DVD.

After he was done patting himself on the back for this one we realized we still needed trick or treat candy and remembered we had saw the B3G1 Free coupons on KitKats/Hershey/Reeces and knew we had .55c off Reeces products(only one unfortunately as we'd already used the others). We bought 6 bags of the snack size candy and got 2 free with the coupons which gave us our $20 we needed for the 5 ECB. These ended up costing $1.81 per bag(this includes the 2 free bags) I believe, if my math is correct. So, if you then also say "HEY we got $5 back on ECBs" then they only cost $1.18 per bag.

Gosh I hope that helps someone =D

Again, we are new and I'm sorry if this is just a long ramble, but we were happy with our finds =) Hopefully someone else can benefit

When I was figuring out how much in ECBs I was going to need to cover my order I thought all 3 deods were $5.49 each. I guess it was a good thing I added that donation because with out it I would have gone negative but I am not sure if we are supposed to use ECBs for that:shrug7:

I'm still a bit of a CVS rookie, but one opened about 25 minutes away from me, about 10 minutes past the Rite Aid I frequent (we live in the country). So, I have started making Sunday morning pilgrimages to both these stores, but I won't go to CVS for only 1 or 2 things, too far. But I'm getting the hang of it, and doing well (I think)! I usually have my 18 month old and ACTIVE 3 year old with me, so I sadly don't have time to linger and look for unadvertised deals, it's a 'grab and go' mission for everyone's sanity! I CANNOT thank everyone here enough for explaining how this all works and pointing out all the bargains week to week- such a life saver!

Today:
-2 boxes of haircolor
-2 Old Spice deodarants
-3 2 liter bottles of coke
-6 cans of tuna
-3 bottles of Dawn dish soap
-1 bottle Aussie conditioner
- 1 tube toothpaste
-1 3 pack of Ivory soap
-1 CVS truck pez dispenser
- 50 ct bag of tea lights for my new holder I got for Xmas form a friend

After $5/15, $20 ECBs, and mfg coupons, I paid.....$2.62 total for all of that! A little irritated though- the pez dis. and tea lights were in the 50% off aisle but didn't ring up as so...didn't realize it til I got home....should have been $3.50 less!

But still, can't really complain when I got all that stuff for $2.62, plus $5 ECBs for my next trip! Really getting into this CVS stuff!

Quick ?- when people talk about their 'trips', do you drive around to different CVSs near you, or just go to 1, having them ring up things in separate orders, or go drop your first batch in the car, then go back in for round #2? Not sure what's 'kosher' for that!

Also used: $9.99 ECBs

Subtotal: $0 (!), total OOP $1.91

You guys are so inspiring! I recently starred shopping cvs and I am loving the deals.

Dawn .99 - .25 mq = .74 x 2 = 1.54
Aussie conditioner 2.88 - 1 mq = 1.88 x 2 = 3.76
fusion razor 8.99 - 2 mq = 6.99
dove chocolate 1.79 - 1 mq = .79

I used 12.99 in ecb and my subtotal was .03 cents and oop withtax was 1.47!! And I got 4 ecbs back which I used in a second transaction of nyquil 4.49 - 2 mq - .50 cvs q = 2.50 and crest 2/5.50 - (2) 1 mq = 3.50. I also got two packs of ivory soap for .99 each and used a $1 mq on each making them free. I used my 4 ecbs. My oop was 1.93 + tax = 2.90. I went to my car and was like 2.90 and realized I could have gotten one crest for 2.75 -1 mq = 1.75. Making my total 4.23 - 4 ecbs = .23 oop plus tax. Still good deal though as I did great with my first transaction.

I am so excited! After spending the last two days of reading all about how CVS works and the wonderful information you guys have shared with us, I decided to give this a try. Here's my first trip:

Nature Bounty Women's Vitamins 9.99 - 5.00 mq = 4.99
Nature Bounty Men's Vitamins 9.99 - 9.99 (BOGO) - 5.00 mq = -4.99
Osteo Bi-Flex 21.99 - 6.00 mq = 15.99
Osteo Bi-Flex 21.99- 21.99 (BOGO) - 6.00 mq = -6.00
Airwick Oil Ref. 2.50/2 = 5.00 - 1.00 mq - 1.00 peelie/2 = 2.00
Airwick Oil Warmer 1.49 - 1.49 mq (buy 2 refills get a warmer free) but they acually deducted 2.50 = -1.01

With tax, my total oop was $11.35!!! I also earned $6.00 ECB's. I hope I explained all this correctly...I'm just so excited! BTW, we do actually use the supplements and my hubby is going to be surprised on my savings!

I had no idea what I was doing but, this is what happened.

bought
2 pantene 2/7.00
2 oust 3.99 x 2= 7.98
cvs aspirin 1.00
J&J Lotion set 4.49

total 21.47+ 1.28 tax = 21.75

used
3/2 pantene
1.00 J&J coupon
bogo oust coupon
1.00 CVS aspirin
5/20 CVS coupon
13.99 in coupons
after coupons 7.76. then got back 2.00 ecb for pantene, 2.00 ecb for J&J, 6.00 ecb for oust. so total of 10.00 ecb back.. made 2.24!

I couldn't do that again if I tried.....lol

I was able to get the following for free by using coupons and ECB's:

Pantene conditioner
Pantene shampoo
Excedrin 100ct & 24ct Pack
2 Cans of Oust

Used Excedrin Coupon $1.50/1
Used B1G1 Oust Coupon
Used $5/$20 CVS Coupon

Added up to $11.45 After Coupons

Used $12 ECB's

Received $11 ECB's back!

Ok, so I didn't come out totally even with the ECB's, but I had $31 of them and I can make that dollar back so easily it was worth loosing just to get my Excedrin for free. That darn stuff is expensive! :giggle2: I'm a bit giddy over getting it for free.

I guess I did all right for my first time... I thought I was going to wind up paying around $7 OOP, but I figured it up wrong (and mistakenly picked up the wrong thing off the shelf... Maybelline lip glosses look remarkably like L'Oréal lip glosses. Sigh.)

I even sat down in the pharmacy section (per seedlady's suggestion) and figured it all up. I had a $10/$50 from the scanner and came up with $50.07 before Qs. Between that, $10 ECBs, $26 in MQs, and even a $1 CVS Q I found on the floor, I still came up to almost $20 (although $4 of that was tax).

Still, I think it's not bad, considering I saved $117, according to the receipt. I just have to make sure I check carefully what I pick up. Plus, make sure I count my Qs right. I had 3 for each of the L'Oréal items (9 total) but only 2 each for Revlon, but my brain was stuck on 3 so I picked up 3 Revlon items. Didn't realize until I got in the car and started trying to figure out where I went wrong.

I guess I could have gone back in and gotten a refund, but I felt so bad because I asked the cashier "are you *sure* you got all the coupons? Are you *sure* you got both the $10 ones?" (She did.)

Anyway. This really is a brag. I saved 85%! And I think I got some good stuff:

1 L'Oréal foundation
2 L'Oréal lip glosses
2 L'Oréal eye shadow
1 L'Oréal eyebrow grooming thingy
1 Maybelline lip gloss (d'oh)
2 Revlon eye shadow
1 Revlon lip gloss
1 Revlon eyelash curler
1 Revlon nail clipper (B1G1 implements)
2 L'Oréal 360 Cleansers
4 Kotex pantiliners
2 Nivea lip care
2 Dawn dish soap

Oh, and I got 6 12-packs of Pepsi for $16, plus $10 ECBs. Plus I learned a few things (and knowlege is priceless). I found about 20 orphaned Qs in the store for Nivea, Jergens, Sally Hansen, and Lance crackers. And I had fun.

I tend to ramble, sorry.

Ok today was the best day EVER!! LOL
I am a HUGE Mt Dew drinker so the pepsi deals at all the stores saved me tons!!

Here's my list of items I got TODAY just at CVS!

9-12pks mt dew
4-2 liters mt dew
2 bags of stacy's pita chips *which DH loves!
6 cans of OUST
2 personal size m&m's
2 Extra gum
2 Folgers coffee (for my mom)

SAVED SPENT % SAVED
$74.10 $24.58 75.09% Plus I have $10 ECBS left over!!
I of course hit wags for their pepsi deal (which I had $20RR so it was just tax oop there!)
Also got LOTS of 2 liters at HyVee along with TONS of cheese!

I couldn't believe the RUSH I had all evening.....I am soooo happy I started doing coupons and checking out HCW everyday!!!

Thanks to everyone!!

Today was my first day back doing CVS in months. Started with a $5 ECB, a $15 ECB (from survey), and a $5/30. Got:

10.98 2 Dove Mens Body wash
2.99 Colgate toothpaste
9.99 Revlon photo finish powder
6.99 Quilted Northern toilet paper (needed this!!)
------
$30.95
-20.00 ECBs
- 5.00 $5/30
- 2.50 Dove mens q's
- 1.00 quilted northern q
- 1.00 revlon q
- 0.50 colgate q
--------
$.95 + tax = $1.02 OOP, earned $2, $5, and $10.98 ECBs.

Pretty pleased with myself... not quite break even on the rolling, but pretty close! Plus, I am set on toilet paper for little awhile... I hadn't had to buy toilet paper in like 16+ months! I'm actually really excited to try the powder. It's a finishing powder. I use bare minerals makeup and am almost out of mineral veil, so I'm hoping this will be an effective cheap substitute!

Took me going to 4 stores before I found one that had all the items for my scenario in stock (yeah, that was annoying!), but otherwise, excited to be back in the game!

Haven't been to CVS since those fantastic B2S deals back in July and August...besides that I was on unemployment and trying to keep cost ( and temptation ) to a minimum..

SO here is what I got on my first time back!

Had a $15 ECB printout from the Diabetes Survey.

1 Olay Body Wash - $8.99
1 Olay Ribbons Body Wash - 7.49
2 Venus Razors - $18
1 Gilette Fusion Razor -- 8.99
2 Herbal Essences Shampoo - 5.76

Total with tax was $57.08, I paid $6.04! WOOOOHOOOO! :D I can't wait to start rolling ECBs again!

02-09-2010, 09:36:48 PM
No ECBs on this transaction, but

1 Olay Body Wash - $8.99
1 Venus Embrace Razor - $6 (clearance, wasn't marked but appeared on the scanner)
2 Wheat Thins - $2
- $8.99 buy 1 Venus Razor, get free bodywash
- $2/2 Nabisco Crackers
- $2/1 Venus Razor
- $3/$15 off coupon that printed from the scanner
total oop $1 + 0.12 tax

I still wonder how it came up with 12cents in tax (it's 6.25% here). But not a bad haul for a buck I think. Plus I have and extra $3/$15 cvs coupon to use still.

Hi!,

The $1 mq came from some samples I got 5 months ago. They were just sample packages of the two brands including christophe shampoo samples and I ripped the top off with the barcode.

So they were like plastic coupons.

Good thing I held onto those samples! :whistle67:

Went to CVS last night... needed a few things and wanted to catch some deals.

I only had one transaction and went in with $2 in EB to spend toward my purchases.
I bought:
1 Bioluxe Shampoo ($9.99)
1 Bioluxe Conditioner (FREE due to B1G1)
1 tub of Huggies wipes (on sale for $2.50)
1 copy of my local paper ($0.75)
2 Powerbar gels ($1.50 each for $3.00 total)

COUPONS:
$0.50 Huggies wipes MFG coupon
$2.00 Huggies wipes CVS coupons
$3.00 CVS coupon ($3 off $15)

EXTRABUCKS:
$2

TOTAL OOP was $9.39 minus the $9.99 Bioluxe MIR for a profit of $0.60!

Sadly, I didn't earn any EB on the transaction, but it wasn't bad to come out with a profit LOL.

i find the math rather creative, since you spent both cash oop and lost ecbs, but you should also factor in the cost of the stamp if you are using the potential refund to bring yourself back into the black.

I am still trying to figure out why that was in four transactions though... maybe I am missing something.
CVS is best worked (most times) when you break your purchases up into several transactions and pay w/ ECB's earned from the previous transaction. Most all CVS couponers do this.

I just recently started using my CVS Caremark card instead of the old red card. Here's what I did today.

Bought:
(2) CVS paper towels single roll $1.29
(1) CVS Aloe Cool & Fresh lotion carry-on size $1.49
(1) CVS shampoo Fresh Kiwi 18 oz $.99

Used:
(2) $1/1 CVS paper product
(1) $1/1 CVS skin care product
(1) $1/1 CVS hair care product
- $1.02 Caremark card discount

Subtotal: $0.04
Tax: $0
OOP: $0.04!

Normally I would have to pay 8.5% sales tax on everything, but since the CVS coupons reduce the taxable total there was no tax calculated. This is my lowest OOP ever at CVS. Granted, I didn't buy much, but I'm still excited about it. :BigHand:

I also used my Green Bag tag. If I can stop by the store three more times this week, I'll earn $1 greenbag ecb. Then it'll be a money-maker!

I went to CVS earlier this week, and this is what I got:

2 Pantene shampoos
1 Reese's dark chocolate
2 Leap Frog wipe-off boards
3 Stride gums

I paid $4.82 oop.

I had $2 ECBs, 55 cents off the Reese's candy q, $3/2 Pantene, and a B2G1 q for the gum. And I got $2.99 back in ECBs. :BigHand:

Gotta brag about what I did today,

Two Olay facial cleansers at $6.99 each.

Two CVS apricot acne scrubs (travel size), $1.49 each.

Two CVS makeup remover wipes, 99 cents each.

Two CVS cocoa butter moisturizer sticks, 99 cents each.

I used the following coupons: two $5 off any Olay Regenerist facial cleanser (P&G coupon book); 4 $1 off any CVS skin care item (CVS scanner); and 2 $1 off any CVS paper product (CVS scanner); and one $4/$20 facial care product purchase (CVS scanner).

My total before tax came to 96 cents. I had a 99 cent ECB to cover that, so the only thing I had to pay out of pocket was sales tax.

And the Olay purchases will count toward the latest Olay rebate.

Gotta love those CVS scanners!

I don't understand. I bought three nivea products at 4.99 each, and at the bottom of my receipt it says Nivea, Spend 15 get 5 EB, and I have 14.97 toward this reward and amount needed to earn reward is .03, yet I still got the reward? What is up with that?

I didn't really do a senerio, but I did the dove and nivea things and I also had a b1g1 violge cvs coupon and a Fruitopia for .99 off, so I didn't do too bad, i got back 9.50 in ECB so I am happy:BigHand:

CVS is really good about giving the customer the benefit of the doubt. Most of the time, if you are within a few cents of the target amount, the register will go ahead and print your ECBs, even if you haven't techniically qualified.

Last week I got the $10 ECBs from the baby deal when I had only spent $24.96.

Good job--thanks for sharing. I always get frustrated when I pay more oop than is necessary--seems I always want to pay nothing at CVS. lol After the tax change on the extra bucks it makes it harder to pay little and never get things for free except the CVS brand stuff with their coupons. I'm having trouble getting any printables this week--gonna try another computer.

also what is the difference bt the CVS caremark card and the extra care rewards card?

I'm still trying to figure that out myself. My employer sent out these cards to all our employees when our prescription insurance changed to CVS Caremark. But they didn't send out any info about the specific benefits, other than a letter basically saying to show the card at CVS to save money. The main differences I know of so far are that the Caremark card is white and says CVS Caremark Extracare and also has my insurance company name on it, while the regular card is red. The Caremark card will give me 20% off certain CVS brand products. Other than that, it seems to work just like my red card did.

I wish I knew what items got the 20% discount. I'm sure any flexible spending account eligible items would get the discount, since that's sort of what it's for. But I also noticed I got the discount when I bought CVS brand paper towels, lotion, and shampoo/conditioner when the coupon scanner was giving out q's for those items. Yet last week when I bought the toilet paper on sale 2/$1 I didn't get the discount. So it doesn't seem to be all the CVS items, or it could be that you don't get the discount when the item is on sale.

Hi everyone,
So you might have seen my gripey post in the CVS lend-a-hand forum, the one in which I asked if CVS is really worth it? Wellll...let's just say that I have had a change of heart. And it's all thanks to you ladies on here and the frugal blogs around the Internet.
:thanks7:
I did what everyone advised me to do and did lots of prep and worked out my deals beforehand. I had $5.00 ECBs going into the store. I scanned my card, but I only got the same cookie and Banana Boat coupons. (No prob, as I will use the cookie coupon next week when they are BOGO, AND I'll be able to scan my Green Tag again.) I picked up the Thermacare @2.49, the Colgate Pro @3.99 and 2 NYC Color lipsticks BOGO @1.99 each. I presented my stuff, my card, my ECBs and my coupons, $1.00 each on the Thermacare, Colgate and NYC Color. The grand total was 49 cents! Yippee!
:party25:
Now if only I had remembered to bring my Green Bag Tag it would have been a perfect transaction. But, I did what one of you suggested and put the tag right on my keychain, so I won't ever forget.
Again, thanks for all the advice and encouragement. It really helped!

and this is just the beginning, u still have way to go. the more u shop @ CVS the more u will love it !
just keep in mind, do not argue with the cashiers if they dont understand it, find another CVS, another shift, another manager another cashier... There is a CVS in my neighbourhood which is great when it comes to using expired qs and extrabucks but sucks when it comes to rainchecks. There is another one next town which is great for rainchecks and in stock all the time for the sales but sucks when it comes to extrabucks etc.
In each one the morning shifts r terrible, cashiers r awful but afternoon shifts r good and especially some cashiers r very friendly.
So I know to which one to go when. i recommend u to do the same so u will like it more.

When i first started CVSing i'd hold the line for ages! and still end up messing the transactions. But the more I read here from the grat CVS shoppers like Benzy, Amy, Ekory, Manders etc, the more i learned how to shop with a strategy. :)

I just had a great trip to CVS!

I did two transactions.

#1:

4 Nivea women's body wash
1 6-pack of depends

I had a 4/20, 1.00 ecb, 2.00/any 1 depends product, and four 4.00/1 Nivea women's body was coupons. I paid my 5.09 with a free GC from mypoints and got back 11.99 in ecb.

Then I got a box of Pampers

used a 1.50/1 pampers, my 11.99 in ecb and my 4.91 balance on the GC and paid 2.99 and got back 5.00 ecb.

I was pretty happy with that. :)

Ok, so I am new to this whole CVS thing. I've been into couponing for a while now though. This is only my 3rd week shopping there (I always thought they were too pricy, boy was I wrong). The first 2 weeks I did ok, nothing too great but this week I killed it. Below are the details of my trips.

1st Trip:
4 Nivea Body Washes
2 Listerine Smart Rinses
2 Sobe Life Waters
1 Bounty 6-pack of Paper Towels
Total: $35.58. I used 2 B1G1 Nivea coupons from the May All You (and the cashier took off the regular prices - $5.99 and $6.99 instead of the sale price), 2 $4/1 Nivea coupons, 1 $2/1 Listerine Smart Rinse (from the orthodontist), 1 $1/1 Listerine Smart Rinse, 1 $1/1 Bounty Paper Towels. I also used $11 worth of ECB. That brought my total down to -$0.40 + $1.66 tax making my oop $1.26 (all tax) + I earned $9 in ECB

2nd Trip:
4 Nivea Body Washes
1 Reach Floss
Total: $21.51. I used 3 $3/1 Nivea coupons, 1 $4/1 Nivea coupon, $1/1 Reach Floss, $2/2 Body Washes (CVS coupon), and $5.51 in ECB. That brought my total down to $0 + $1.30 tax making my oop $1.30 + I earned $7 in ECB

3rd Trip:
3 Nivea Lip Care Products
2 Satin Care Shave Gels (found on clearance for $0.75 each)
Total: $10.47. I used a B1G1 Nivea lip product coupon, $1/1 Nivea lip care product, and a $2 ECB. That made my total $4.48 + $0.63 tax making my oop $5.11

4th Trip:
1 5-Pack Gillette Mach3 Razor Cartridges
2 Gillette Body Washes
2 Gillette Deodorants
1 Venus Embrace Razor
2 Nivea Lip Products
Total: $41.45. I used a $5/$40 CVS coupon, $10 in ECB, $2/2 Shower Gels (CVS coupon), $4 off of Gillette razor cartridges coupon, $2 off of Venus Embrace coupon, $4/2 Gillette Deodorants, B1G1 Gillette Body Wash, B1G1 Nivea Lip Care, $1/1 Nivea Lip Care. That brought my total down to $5.47 + $2.19 tax making my oop $7.66 + $12 in ECB

5th and Final Trip:
1 Reach Floss
Total: $2.99 (they didn't have the $1.99 one). $1/1 Reach Floss, $2 ECB. My total was $0 + $0.18 tax making my oop $0.18 + $2 ECB.

Sorry for such a long post but I am beyond excited about this week. I spent $15.51 for 10 body washes, 5 lip glosses, 2 mouth washes, a 6-pack of paper towels, 2 shaving gels, 2 flosses, 2 deodorants, a razor, a 5-pack of razor cartridges, and 2 beverages. And now I am rolling into next week with $14 in ECB. I wish I would have gotten into this sooner!

to lakies a helpful tip when u miss pp and ga when they r on tv u can go to abc.com and watch the full episodes on there for free they usually have the current seasons episodes all on there expect for the ones that have not been on tv yet but u usually have to wait till the next day so they can upload the episode to the website that is how i do desperate housewives and for desperate housewives they do have all of season 1's episodes on the website now only if they would do this with wife swap i would really love abc for doing that for me

Okay so I finally decided to share my deals for this past week. I have always been too scared of not comparing to all the CVS Pro's out there!

You guys are super good at this! I'm still learning, but here's what I did.

Pantene 2/6.97
Crest Pro-Health
24pk CVS Water
4 Vitamin Waters
2lt. Coke
2 Mentos Gum
Shick 5 blade razor
Crayola toothbrush
Apple Jacks
TOTAL: 37.89$
USED:
1.00$/2 Pantene
1.00$/2 Mentos Gum
5.00$/1 Schick Razor
1.00$/2 Vitamin Water
TOTAL: 25.67$
Plus, I got the ECB on the Pantene, toothpaste, and the razor. I started off with no ECB and I had my four year old with me, hence the toothbrush (even though she already has five) and the Applejacks.
I can't wait to go back and use my ECB on more stuff next week.
I know it's not fabulous, but when I see that I woulda spent 37 before all the coupons, I'm stoked, plus I got the ECBs.
I love learning from everyone!

I got the $5/$30 email Wednesday and went to CVS on my lunch break to see what I could do. They've been out of the razors the last couple times I went in and didn't know if I'd be able to find enough deals to reach $30. But I'm so glad I did, I felt like I hit the jackpot!
Here's what I bought:

1 Blade razor @ 6.99 (shelf was empty, but I asked an employee and they had lots in the back!)
1 Nivea bodywash @ 5.99
1 Always Infinity pads 16 ct @ 5.29
8 packs CVS pocket tissue @ 2/.99
2 packs CVS cosmetic swabs @ .99 each
7 boxes Playtex Gentle Glide Ultra 18 ct tampons found in clearance @ .33 each!
3 boxes Playtex Gentle Glide Regular 18 ct tampons found in clearance @ 1.32 each!
gum (filler) 1.11
- 1.19 Pharmacare discount (automatic 20% discount for certain CVS products)
Subtotal = 30.40

Coupons used:
- 5/30 email coupon
- 4/1 Nivea bodywash
- 5.29/1 Always Infinity (free coupon, came with sample in mail)
- 4 x 1/1 CVS paper product
- 2 x 1/1 CVS cosmetic accessories
- 6 x 1/1 Playtex Gentle Glide
- 4 ECBs from Herbal Essences
Subtotal: .11
Tax: 1.65
OOP: 1.76
ECB's earned: 6.99 from Blade
Net Cost: 1.23 profit!

I forgot about the auto discount, which threw off my barely-over-$30 total so that I was stuck grabbing the gum as a last-minute filler at the register.

I know sometimes coupns take taxes with it. Ive had a negative subtotal before but with taxes one time i paid 27 cents. The other time i got 4 boxes cereal for 20 cents. I guess if the coupon takes enough tax with it it works like that.

It also depends on your state. In MA, I can get my total to 0.00 sometimes because coupons and ECBs reduce the taxable amount. If my coupons and ECBs cover my entire transaction, then I owe nothing.

Please tell me how you get it down to $0 or $.01? I thought you had to pay the sales taxes! Thanks.

Some states have laws that you pay tax on the after coupon amount and no tax on free after coupon items. In those cases you can get it down that low or even free.

In states where you pay on the pre-q amount or tax even on free coupon items, you pay it on the highest amount. So if you total was $20 before coupons you pay tax on $20 even if you get your total down to $1 from coupons.

Manufacturer q's "eat" the tax.

Let's say your total is $4 and $.50 of that is tax. If you use a $2 manufacturer q FIRST, and THEN use a $2 ECB, CVS won't let you do it b/c the ECB sees that your total is actually $1.50 plus $0.50 tax, but if you use the $2 ECB first, and then the $2 MQ, it will be $0. At least in VA it is. One time, my tax was $0.90, but I had a negative -$0.75 total, so I only paid $0.15. I had to argue with them for a good two minutes, first, though.

I did 2 transactions. the first one i decided to put the extra bucks before mfq to see. I had my total at 7.12 before.
In the end i did 2 transactions
I got
6 tampax
2 gillette body washes
2 rolaids chewables
1 gillette pro glide razor.
my OOP was 6.40 and i got 5 EB left.
I would type out the scenario but i messed up and got the wrong rolaids so it was a bit of a mess configuring that out! lol. I didnt use the EB first on 2nd transaction after all the confusion. But i guess it stands proof with the mfq's~!

There was a tag up in the cooler where I got the mountain dew that said if I bought the mountain dew and lays chips I would get $1 ECB back but didnt get it. I might had misread it, I also looked thru the ad and didn't see anything about this deal. Maybe it was from last week and they forgot to take the tag down. I didn't realize it until I got home that the ECB didnt print. Does anyone know about this deal?? Thanks!

I was psyched about this one.

1 Huggies box 19.99
1 Fusion razor 9.97
subtotal: 29.96
- $4/$20 CVS CRT
- $2/1 Huggies mailer
- $4/1 Fusion
- $20 ECBs (adjusted to $19.96)
= 0.00 plus 0.03 tax (weird because coupons reduce taxable amount in MA)
Got back $15 ECB

Still, it was 3 pennies for a box of diapers and a razor!

Tripped into this deal and couldn't believe it!

Scanned my CVS card on the coupon machine as I walked into the store.

Got:
$4.50 ECB on any purchase
$2.00 of any Pantene product

Sitting at a table at the front near the checkout were Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioners, all marked half off.

Big bottle of shampoo, 25.4 ounce scanned at $4.00
Small bottle of shampoo 12.6 ounce scanned at $2.50

And every single bottle had a peelie coupon for $1.00 off that item!

So I bought (2) of the large, (1) of the small and used the ECB and coupon from the machine plus the three peelies and spent a total of $1.00+tax for all three :BigHand:

Then I went and bought my other two deals I had planned when I went in :giggle2:

So sweet!!!!

and to make it even nicer, having been out of town for a month where no CVS existed, I had two expired ECB's, one for $6 and one for $4 and asked the manager if there was any way I could redeem them. I didn't have them with me but he assured me that I could do it although they don't normally do such things  Made my whole day!!!! So today I'll redeem those expired ones and am holding a $10 ECB to roll another day.

I love CVS!!!!

Yes, the SOBE coupons came from Sobe Heads or Tails game. There is suppose to be a limit of 2 coupons. I only played it once and got them instantally after you play. Just google it, it should come up. I have more coupons but didn't want to wipe CVS clean of them. Good luck!

I had a great trip to CVS this afternoon.

I walked in the door and scanned my card and got the following CRTs:

$5/$20 Today only (AWESOME!!!)
$2.50 ECB for my spring spending
$4 off any Dr. Scholl's For Her (Exp 7/19)
$2/2 Nature Made Vitamins (Exp 7/6)
$1/1 Bounty 8pk Paper Towels (Exp 7/6)

I also had $13 ($10 & $3) in ECBs from last week (I think)

Transaction #1
(12) Sobe Life Water (@ $1.69 BOGO)
(2) CVS Pantiliner 22ct (@ 2/$1)
(1) Bausch & Lomb BioTrue (@ $2.99)
(1) Panetene Shampoo 12.6oz (50% off @ $4.99 = @ $2.50)

Asked the cashier not to total the transaction before she scanned my $5/$25 coupon (email) - this way the (12) Sobe life waters = $ 20.28 towards $25 needed to use the coupon.

Used (6) Sobe BOGO Coupons (@ $1.69 each)
Used $3 ECB from last week

Paid $1.03 oop > actually, I just realized that the pantene didn't ring up 50% off so I'll have to go back and get that fixed. Wouldn't have had to use my ECB. It would have totalled $1.55 oop. Oh Well. I might go back and have it adjusted.

I got back the following ECBs
$ 2.99 for BioTrue
$1 for Pantiliners

Transaction #2
(2) CVS Pantiliner 22ct (@ 2/$1)
(1) Pampers Cruisers Size 4 - 64ct (@ $19.99)

Used $5/$20 CRT I got from the magic machine
$2/1 pampers cruisers (7/4 P&G insert)
$10 ECB from last week
$2.99 ECB from previous transaction
$1 ECB from previous transaction

oop $0.00!!!! Yay!

I got back the following ECBs
$1 for Pantiliners
$3 for Pampers

I also got the following CRTs
B1 Sour Patch Kids/Swedish Fish G1 2oz Bag Free (Exp 7/19)
$4.50 of any pampers big box (Exp 7/19)
$5 off any schick Hydro Refill (Exp 7/19)

So I paid $1.03 oop and $6.50 in ECBs for my next trip!

I love leaving CVS feeling energized! :giggle2: I'm thinking I'll be able to get some good deals with the Dr. Scholls & Schick Hydro CRTs too!

yOU CAN'T-AS FAR AS I KNOW. AND THE COUPON MUST BE FOR THE SAME ACCOUNT AS THE CARD YOU ARE GIVING THE CASHIER OR THE REGISTER WILL BEEP. NOW, IF YOU HAVE THE 5/20 COUPON AND FORGOT YOUR CARD (THE ONE ASSOCIATED WITH THAT COUPON) THEN SIMPLY PROVIDE THE CASHIER WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER YOU USED WHEN YOU REGISTERED FOR ECB PROGRAM AND YOUR 5/20 WILL GO THROUGH WITH NO PROBLEM. HOPE THAT HELPS.

I know it. I just made a comment to a.feierman post in which he said "Asked the cashier not to total the transaction before she scanned my $5/$25 coupon (email) - this way the (12) Sobe life waters = $ 20.28 towards $25 needed to use the coupon."

they scanned their cvs card. they asked that the cashier not hit the total otherwis the total would be under $20. So scanning the coupon for the $5/$20 first then hitting total they were able to use it. The BOGO comes off as soon as the total button is hit. I worked at cvs and was into couponing then as well. so its legit. just most cashiers are fast to hit the total button. I always scanned all copons first then hit total.

I was super excited for my last trip to CVS

Here's what I had

1) Box size 4 cruisers 64 count $19.99
4) 2 packs stage 1 gerber baby food @ $1.49 each total $5.96

Used $5 off $25
$10 off Pampers from trade
$4.50 off box of Cruisers CVS Q
.75 off 4 gerber stage 1
$1 ECB
$2 ECB

Paid $2.29 which seemed too low, after looking at the receipt the Gerber was B2G1free which took another $1.49 off the total, got back a $3 ECB

Receipt had another $4.50 off a box of pampers CVS Q on it, so I picked up a box of Pampers baby dry size 4 with 82 diapers in it for $19.99.

Used $4.50 CVS Q
$10 off pampers from trade
$3 ECB

Paid $4.15 for second box of pampers

So for a total of $6.44 I got 146 diapers and 4 tow packs of Gerbers.

I went again today (why am I going so much? The Sobe isn't even that good!)
They finally had the Sobe...
6 sobe
1 BF EVOO
1 Embrace Razor
2 Panty Liners
used $9ecb
Paid $1.35
Got back $6 in ecb
The EVOO is a good deal I think, I never see it cheaper than $.20 oz...

OF course I couldn't just get the Sobe..I had to fight for it. I used my 3 bogoQ and the cashier tried to tell me she could only take half off instead of all of one bottle. I told her "fine give me my Q back and take them off" as I was removing them from the bag. She said she would do it this time but at the grocery store across the street they only give half, and I said "and there they only charge half, you do not have to buy both to get the bogo." I am not sure she understood. I will just go when I know my favorite cashier is working-although this cashier let me know that that other cashier does so much that she shouldn't...WHATEVER!

The other day I was paying for my order on self-checkout and had just used all of my coupons. I hit the button to pay, but I realized that I forgot my 1ECB. D'oh!

Self-checkouts don't allow you to go back after saying that you want to pay (bad design choice in my opinion), so I couldn't use the 1ECB.

BUT! Lo and behold the self-checkout attendant said that he would just give me $1 for it since I couldn't go back :) It was a nice surprise.

Had a pretty good transaction last week. I had a free suave shampoo coupon so went to CVS to use it. (Don't have my receipt in front of me so working from memory here)

I bought:
1 Milky way .50
2 family size Head and Shoulders marked 75% off: $1.99 each
1 Family sized Head and shoulders @ $5.99
1 Suave Humectant conditioner $2.99
2 Nivea Lip Balm Marked 50% off: $1.64 each
1 Dawn Dish soap $.99

Used Coupons:
1 free suave
2 $3.00 off head and shoulders
1 $.50 off Milky way
1 b1g1 Nivia lip
1 $1 dawn

Total Savings of over 30$

OOP: $5 and some change

Earned EB: $2

Kicking myself for not buying the free after EB solution though :/ I would have done 2 transactions with that.

this is a "different" kind of brag... but I had to share. I have a young college student who frequently is my cashier at CVS on weeknights when I do my late night shopping... last night she told me "she has decided she wants to be just like me when she grows up" hahahaha :) TOO CUTE :) I gave her some of my John Frieda coupons to get her started.

I was just about to say the same thing about the self check-out. I don't know what part of NY your aunt is from, but I live in CT, about 15 minutes from the NY state line and I have never seen a CVS self check-out either. My brother lives just outside Albany and I have never seen one out there when I visit either. I would love that! I always feel funny when I go into a store like CVS with coupons. They often only have one check-out open and if a line forms, they can usually only call one other person. That is how it is here, anyway. I hate to be taking a long time or worse yet, when I get to the end and EBs are not right and I have to have them check it, others have to wait. If there was a self check-out, usually the lines on them are shorter to begin with. I would just love that. I hope we get one here soon.

this was posted under this weeks weekly ad:

Those hangtag coupons are expired in 99% of the stores where I've found them. There are new ones coming in this week's inserts and there is one here (http://www.dulcolaxusa.com/consumer/purchase/specialOffers/). The company is honoring the mail in rebate hangtags until at least September. You can print a MIR form here (http://www.dulcolaxusa.com/resources/pdf/dulcolax_balance_rebate_form.pdf)if you can't find hangtags. They are honoring this as well.

SOOOOO excited to FINALLY get a $5/15. I NEVER get those coupons. I'm lucky to every once in a while get a $5/30 or something (and I only recently started getting those). Imagine my surprise to get a $5/15 AND a $4/1 Huggies Jeans Diapers!!! I ended up getting:

10 packages of nabisco crackers
2 packages of huggies jeans diapers
1 package Pampers diapers
1 pkg pampers wipes

After all my coupons, I only paid $3.22 for everything!

They were out of the zegerid, Blinks, and Dawn on my list so I got rain checks and hopefully they will be back in stock before my coupons expire

I had an awesome trip, mostly because I don't have the slightest clue as to exactly what went on.

3 Renuzit adjustables 2.64
2 Swiffer wetjet refills 7.98
1 Blink tears 7.99
2 Herbal Essence mousse 5.76
1 Crest Pro-health gum clinical 5.49
1 Glide Floss 4.49

The asst. manager had told me to buy the Glide Floss for sensitive teeth and it would also produce the ECBs. It didn't and rang up at a higher price. Ditto for the Crest Pro-Health.

So this is what happened:
1 CVS coupon $3.49 (correction, I think for the higher Pro-health/glide prices)
1 5/30 coupon $5.00
1 Renuzit .55
1 Crest tpaste .75
1 Glide .75
1 bogo HE $3.23 (this CVS doesn't adjust coupons EVER)
1 CVS mfr cpn $3.00 (ECB)

My total was $19.91, and I had $14.82 left on a giftcard that I got for a prescription transfer. So my OOP was 5.09.

$7.99 printed for the Blink. Nothing printed for the Crest, even though the toothpaste was definitely the right size/right brand. So she printed me $8.00 ECB for those two items. No idea how she came up with that number, but she's the asst. manager so there must have been some rationale.

I didn't really discover this until I got home and started bragging to my DH. It didn't make a lot of sense so we went over the receipt.

The icing on the cake was that they were out of the Purex 3 in 1. Walmart had them on clearance for $3.
