Farmland Bacon?

This is usually $4.29/lb at my store, and I remember that there was a great sale, right after I started at HCW, that was BOGO. I had 4 $2/1 coupons and thought, "Oh my goodness! What a great deal - $.29 for every 2lbs I buy - I can't believe I'm getting so many!" :hysterical: (FOUR PACKS!)

Now I have 10 q's (oh how I wish I had a chest freezer, cuz I'd buy more q's!) and I would LOVE to use them on a sale like this again. Does the bacon go on a cycle like everything else? Does anyone foresee another BOGO sale in the near future? We love this "pricey" bacon for $.15/lb!

I did ask a lady working in the lunchmeat/sausage section (at least - she was stocking a freezer) if she knew when the next sale would be. Her reply? "That bacon never goes on sale!" :shrug7:So I thought I'd ask someone who might really know what they're talking about - you guys!

I am not sure but sometimes walmart has it too and a little cheaper. I think you maybe by me. I shop at the kuhns in wilkins tep and community in penn hills

I have never found it in the Super Walmart in West Mifflin. I am almost finally out of bacon so I could use some (of course, I need to find some place to put it LOL.

It is on sale this week at GE but, not sure I want to pay $1.39 for a pound of bacon LOL

Has anyone gone to the Wilkinsburg GE where Verona Rd. turns into Robinson I think it is? I thought about going there for the Glade deal, but I'm not usually over there.

West Mifflin hasn't had any (at least when I went there yesterday) - had to drag my butt to Homestead - only a couple there.

On a better note, I had 3 orders of meat this morning and told the cashier I needed to ring them up separate - she said - nope - put them all together. She had the key and over-rode the 2 extra $4 cats for me to do one order!!! I thanked her profusely and intend to ask at CS (they weren't open yet) if I can use more than 1 at a time - then I'll insist that they get a key to override it all the time.

I'm in OH too- I'm in the Cleveland area. Legacy Village is my main GE, but I also go to the one on Mayfield and the one on Chagrin. I have one a lot closer to me, but really it is in the tough part of town, I've only been there in dire circumstances.

I live right down the road from Westinghouse. I am in between the PH GE and the Braddock hills GE. Both are about 2.5 miles away. As far as the GE in Wlikinsburg, I went once and did not feel comfortable at all. Now the GE in verona is nice.

someone is probably buying out the shelf. when that happens just go to the cs desk and ask them when their trucks come in. austintion trucks come in tuesday,thurs and sat..so try checking on those days.
another thing is to remind them to order them..say you have shopping since the 4th and none have been on the shelf. Count how many coupons you have and tell them how many you need. there is no min or max
its really easy. I don't drive so i had to find a way to get my products because i couldn't just go to another store..specially gas prices? i love to just do all my orders at one :) save gas money and just ask them to order more and they will keep them for you so no one else will buyit out :smile:

So I went in, did my shopping, and as I went up to the line to check out, this girl on a cell phone runs up to me and says "Hey! My brother wanted me to tell you to stop by his car when you go back to yours. He really wants to meet you. (Is there a smiley for jaw-dropping? I can't find it! :hysterical:) I kinda looked around, but she was definitely talking to me.

So I go to my car - feeling WAYYYY uncomfortable (where else can I go?) - and as I approach my car, the guy in the drivers seat leans out and says 'Hi! Come here!" So I went over (which I would usually NEVER do) and said "Hi" to him and all his gangster buddies (I'm not exaggerating either) They were soooo nice and just talked to me like they genuinely wanted to be friends. Then the driver started asking if I wanted to hang out, and I moved my hand just enough to catch his attention. "Ohhh...you're married!" He was so sad. :hysterical: We said good-bye and I told them to have a nice day. I haven't been back.:giggle2:

The other day I was at a Walmart (not my usual one) shopping with my friend. She was in front of me paying for her stuff, and was saying she can't find her credit card. The male cashier (mid 30's ) asked if she needed some cash. She kinda laughed and said no thanks, and found her card. I piped up and said "Er, um, I think I forgot my money?" I was just kidding, but he looked at me and said, "Ya, but your married" LOL So then when it was my turn to pay, I handed over my big handful of q's. He dropped most of them between the register and bagger thingie, than said "Aw sh!t!" !!! They went way down and he couldn't retrieve them. He called the manager and he then had to call maintenance. That guy said they would need to be unscrewed and pulled apart. I asked the manager if he could just scan the other ones multiple times (I had mostly dove and airborne) since I knew how many I had. he was super nice (and cute lol) and agreed. So after he walks away, the cashier puts my other q's on the belt, and it almost sucks them in. That's when the f bombs comes out of his mouth!! I couldn't believe a walmart cashier was actually cursing, but he seemed to have deeper issues. He ended up getting very flustered, and kept saying he didn't want to lose his job. I actually felt bad for him:frown:

My family is from the Oakmont/Verona area. My dad grew up in Verona, my mom grew up in Oakmont. Some of my mom's family still live near Penn Hills and Oakmont - but I never visit them anymore since my Grandma passed away. I was thinking of it though...just to check out the Walgreens in Oakmont though...LOL We don't have any out here yet, they're building one near me though - they finally have the outside almost done :-)

Did you happen to send your mom to the Irwin Kmart during Super Doubles? I was helping some older woman in the cleaning product aisle because her daughter sent her with a stack of coupons and a list. She was too funny. My son was helping her find things - she kept saying that she hated coupons and couldn't figure them out LOL Gave her one of my Greased Lightning 1.50 coupons though so she could get it free instead of paying a buck for it. I kept thinking, what forum member sent her mom to Kmart to try and figure coupons out during super doubles? :biggrin:

Oh cool! It's not far for me to get there on turnpike, but I was afraid of making the trip and them being one of those horror story stores I read about all the time! I'll have to keep my eye out for any big deals and try it out sometime - that way I'll know what I'm doing when they finally open the store here. Thanks so much!

I had my DH stop in at marcs because i only wanted the bacon. He said that's the last time he is goin to a store to get 8packs of bacon and thats it lol told me that everyone looked at him weird...imagine a big (wellfed lol) guy standing in line with packages of bacon piled high and thats it..my man lovvves bacon lol

im goin to be cooking "poppers" Inlaws showed me.

Sooo.. not sure how THIS happened. I took 12 $2/1 q's with me to the Verona GE. Picked up 12 packs of bacon. After I got home (I know, I know - always check your receipt in the store! :giggle2:) I noticed that there were 13 packs of bacon on the receipt - and 13 q's scanned for it. :shrug7: I think the cashier - who was an awesome kid and very q friendly - scanned a pack of bacon twice since I got my GE card out partway through the transaction. So he scanned a pack, scanned my card, and accidentally scanned the pack again. Not sure how the 13th q happened, but at least it was only $1.39 extra I paid, and not $3.39!!!

I won't be going back for $1.39 - but just thought that was weird!
