In your usercp you can "unsubscribe" to your subscribed thread and forums.

also go to:
usercp
edit options
change the "default subscription mode" to no emails.
This only changes future posts to which you subscribe.

Mine stopped ages ago. I thought they were no longer available.

Do the number of down arrows indicate the # of new unread messages you've received? Sometimes i have one down arrow & one message, sometimes i have two down arrows & one message.
Thought maybe a down arrow was added if a certain amount of time had passed & i hadn't read the message. Or, maybe i'd received a second message but when i opened pm's only had one new message there.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,
Donna

Thanks. I've been looking for this info, too. I tried the link at the bottom of the email, but everytime I was told that it was an incorrect ID (or something of the sort).

How do I turn off e-mails? I am getting an e-mail everytime I post to a new thread and then everytime someone else does. It is way too many e-mails. I tried to turn them off in my profile, but the things that I have tried don't work.
Anyone know how to do it?

You have to do two things.
First, shut off the option that automatically subscribes you to threads to which you have posted: Under User CP, go to "Edit Options". There is a section for "Default Subscription Mode". Change that dropdown to "Do not subscribe".
Second, unsubscribe to all the threads to which you've already been subscribed: Under User CP, go to "List Subscriptions". Click the checkbox to the right of each thread. At the bottom of the window, in the "Selected Threads:" dropdown box, select "No email notification" then click the "Go" button.
