I'm in Delaware. My Acme didn't accept IP's for a long time (a year, I think). About 3 months ago I saw an ad on their corporate site for printables. I picked up the phone and called corporate to let them know it wasn't very nice to show ads for them when they won't even accept them. Long story short.....my Acme was violating a corporate policy to accept IP's. Within 2 days I was able to use IP's again and there were no longer signs on the registers saying they couldn't accept them. If what I was told was correct, individual stores cannot make up their own policy. In fact, after I reported my store I got another call back from someone else. She actually THANKED me for bringing it to their attention. I would most definitely call tomorrow and just politely ask if it is now corporate policy to not accept IP's. I'm sooooo glad I called--it's so much easier when they do accept them.

Good luck! Please write back if you call--I'd be interested in hearing how it turns out for you.

Mine will accept those with a barcode, but not those with a serial number instead.

I contacted them also - especially with the fact that they offer printables from their site as Bridget mentioned. Here is the response I got

And the wind blows in strange directions at the Avondale Acme

I was there tonight and the cashier asked the manager if they still accepted printables. This manager said yes, as long as they scan and aren't for a free product. Fortunately, I didn't have to have the same argument about what constitutes a "free" coupon.

Another Delaware shopper here! I shop in Dover and they do take IPs as far as I know. I almost always use the self check-out. I like to make sure the catalina machine light is "on" and that all my coupons get scanned.

I feel like the odd one out... I shop at the one in thorndale, pa. I haven't had much problems other than some cashiers doubling the no double coupons and some of the not doubling them. I hope there is a good cashier on duty with this CAT coming up :whistle67:

A few days ago, the cashier told me they are no longer accepting any IPs. He called manager over and she said the same thing. I asked why and she said too much fraud, then proceeded to vaguely show me a stack of papers with photocopies of fake Qs that cashiers are supposed to look out for. She made it seem as if the IPs I had were listed in there, without letting me actually look at the papers, but I know my IPs are legit. Was so ticked that I just walked out in a daze.

I called and after verifying the policy with the rep, explained what happened. She said it would be investigated. Next day, one of the managers from the store calls me, asks me to explain what happened. I do, and he said he didn't know why the other manager said IPs weren't accepted, but that next time I came in, I could use the IPs.

So I go in yesterday, upon checking out, the cashier sees my IPs and says I can only use 2 of the same kind. He calls the same *^%$# manager from before and she also says only 2. I said that's not what corporate policy says. She pulls out a sheet of paper and hands it to me, saying this is the policy, and points to a certain section. The paper was NOT the policy, just an info sheet for store employees about different types of coupons and what to look out for. In the section marked "Internet coupons", it said something to the effect of "Look out for multiple copies of the same Internet coupon. Most only allow 1 or 2 copies to be printed." I told her that this doesn't say I could only use 2, and that the 1 or 2 prints is per computer and many people have more than 1 computer. She is having none of it, saying it says only 2.

In the end, I end up buying 2 of each item I had IPs for. I do plan on calling and complaining again, but what can I say/do to get corporate to get that store to actually follow policy without any way for them to "misinterpret" it? I need something that would not allow them any room for their own interpretation. Note that this store had previously allowed, albeit very grudgingly, use of multiple same IPs, as long as each had unique pin numbers, which coupons.com and smartsource.com Qs do.

I posted on another board but would like more feedback. Can anyone here help me out?

It may take a second call to corp and/or discussion with the mgr regarding the same issue to do the trick. I guess the one mgr did not f/u with the other manager/cashiers to explain that they are indeed allowed. It could be that the mgr/cashiers just don't get it even after an explanation.

Sometimes store personnel are not trying to be rude or are trying to throw their weight around, they just really believe that they are correct in their thinking. But I must say they sound kind of stubborn and do not seem interested in making the customer happy, within reason. What you were shown is just a guideline, not actual rules, as it says "most allow 1 or 2 prints"

You could point out that even though you have 2 or more of the same printed coupons, they all have unique security pin numbers, so they are not copies at all. Get the managers name that said it was ok and mention his name.
