Tripling at Bi-Lo appears to be a "once in a blue moon" thing. The first time they ever tripled in my area (SE TN) was about 3 years ago. They did it twice that year. They didn't do it again until the first of this year and then they did "Super Triples". My cousin and I didn't have a life outside of Bi-Lo for weeks 'cause they did it for more than one week in a row. HTH, Necie

When Bi-Lo triples, it is not usually system-wide. Lately they've had it in parts of NC and SC, but, not TN and GA. Back in January when we had it for 3 weeks in a row (SE TN), again, it was not system-wide. I'd sure like to figure out what triggers it and how they decide where to do it.

I've never seen them triple in SC (at least as far as I can remember) but I sure wish they would.

They've done it in Charleston when I lived there (up until Jan 08), but it has been a good long while since I saw it.

When Bi-Lo tripled in North Geogia last year, it was the same week in January that Ingles was tripling. Ingles is tripling this week in North Georgia. Has anyone heard anything similar for Bi-Lo this week?

Usually these stores try and do the tripling to increase sales. I thought that some of the BiLos tripled with the grand opening of a store.
Triples increases profits. I know it may be hard to beleive since most of us on here walk out with a lot of groceries for little out of pocket, but most people don't think to get mulitple quanities of coupons like we do. They hope by doing triples they get long term customers so even when they don't do triples those customers still shop there.

I haven't seen them triple coupons in the 4 years I've been shopping with them. In my area ( upstate sc.. where bi-lo has their headquaters) in the last two weeks Blooms and Ingles have tripled coupons. So maybe we will get lucky soon.

I am in Rock Hill and they have not tripled here since probably 2006.
I asked Food Lion why they do not double coupons. The answer was they do not need to. Maybe Bi-Lo does not need to triple.

Yeah, my Food Lion is priced nearly the same as the Harris Teeter across the street. They are right though they don't need to, because at the Food Lion that is across the street from the Harris Teeter, the customers don't go to both stores, you go to one or the other.
I get MUCH better deals at BiLo and Harris Teeter than I do at Food Lion, unless it is free, or they have a really good deal, I only do about 5% of my shopping at Food Lion.
