I just came back. I spent $ 36.71 and saved $ 141.01 or 79%. My receipt is almost 6' long. The coupons didn't triple automatically but the cashier keyed them in manually. I'm very happy to say the least. Cashiers were very friendly as well. Happy shopping.

My total was $80 before coupons and $34 after. I had to buy a few things that weren't great deals (milk, cream for DH, and trash bags...that was $15 just for those 3 things). So, I really got the rest for $19. Woohoo! Also, I got overage on a few things and the cashier accidentally entered $2.00 off instead of .20 for a coupon. I told her she gave me too much off and she said, "Oh well".....bonus for me!
Here's what I got...some are repeats:
(2) Curves granola bars: .50
(4) Apple and Eve 3 pack juice boxes: .23
(1) Lipton decaf tea bags: $1.18
(2) BC Warm delights: .17
(1) Cheerios snack mix: .50
(3) Pringles: .70
(1) French's Worcesteshire: .16 overage
(2) Pillsbury pizza dough: .09
(2) Pillsbury Crescent rolls: .05 overage on each
(1) Pillsbury sweet rolls: .10
(1) Reynold's plastic seal wrap: .41 overage (this was a clearance item)
(1) Hunt's ketchup: .58 (but I got overage on this b/c she entered incorrectly)
(2) Suave Tropical Paradise deoderant: FREE (but they rang up wrong, have to go back)
And I also got:
gallon of milk
lotion for DH
2 Free bags of cat food
3 Free Oust sanitizer sprays
1 bag sugar
celery
cherries (also overcharged on these...grrrr)
bananas
Hefty Kitchen bags
J&J Baby Powder

Yahoo! Triples at last! I spent last week in Los Angeles for an experimental chemotherapy treatment, and when I got home my mother-in-law told me that this is triples week. So now I am clipping and sorting my coupons, getting ready to make my trip.
Has anyone found any good IP coupons to go with the triples this week? I remember last time that I loaded up on Uncle Ben's rice and a few other items with IPs.
Thanks!

This was my first attempt at triples...now I am hooked!!
I actually could have tripled more coupons than I did as I didn't expect them to have 40 powerades (I called and they said they only had about 20...so when I saw 40+ I just kinda threw it all together...)
Here is what I got:
40 powerade
4 cases of dasani
6 warm delights
6 pilsbury cinnamon rolls
4 rice a roni
2 viva
1 domino sugar
2 cheerios snack mix
1 dixie napkins
1 pack mr clean magic erasers
almost 8 pounds of tyson boneless/skinless breast
2 packs of land o frost turkey (lb packs)
Total OOP: $8.25 ($2.66 was tax) Savings of $145. 09...so I paid less than the cost of the chicken --WOO HOO!!!!!!:dance2:

Since it's 3 coupons doubled or tripled per $10 before coupons, would it be 3 coupons tripled per $10 PLUS another 3 coupons doubled per that same $10, or is it only 3 coupons period that are doubled or tripled?
A hypothetical...
Say I buy:
$1.50 Salsa A
$1.50 Cheese B
$2.00 Peanut Butter C
$1.00 Jelly D
$2.00 Chips E
$2.00 Bread F
I've spent $10 before coupons, and I have the following coupons to use:
-.50 Salsa A
-.50 Cheese B
-.50 Peanut Butter C
-.35 Jelly D
-.50 Chips E
-.50 Bread F
Option 1
A, B, and C triple for $4.50 off. D, E, and F do not double or triple for $1.35 off. $5.85 off total. $4.15 is the balance.
Option 2
A, B, and C triple for $4.50 off. D, E, and F double for $2.70 off. $7.20 off total. $2.80 is the balance.
Obviously I'm hoping for Option 2, but I certainly don't want to count on it. Can anyone tell me the answer?
Thanks!

It is only double/triple per every $10. So, the second scenario would not work. Would be nice, though. lol

Any idea if they care the One Touch monitors (or breeze2) - and if so what the price is? If they are around $20, you can use the recent insert coupon and that will make the monitor free and up your total for tripling.

Unfortunately my Ingles doesn't have a pharmacy, hopefully someone with a bigger store than me can help out with this question.
If they do carry the monitors that would be a sweet deal!

They will have to manually double/triple the coupon because the UPC code starts with a 9. You might get someone who won't want to, it's a YMMV situation.

I don't have my receipt with me, so I can't post my whole list ... but I do know that it was $226 :rolleyes24: before coupons ... and $75 after :BigHand: ... so a savings of $151:hysterical:
I should be very happy ... but I was actually hoping to get it down to $40-$50 :shrug7: oh well ... maybe next time!
I know I bought a few items that had a higher out-of-pocket than a lot of the 'practically free after triple coupons' items. But they were things that either we needed/liked or that I knew were brands my mom or dad prefers, so I bought them to take to her (and hopefully keep her from buying them at 'full price w/out coupons'.) For example, Blue Plate Mayo ... It was $2.98 - 1.20 (3x.40) = $1.78. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for Mayo ... I have so much 'super cheap' Hellmann's ... but my dad will ONLY eat Blue Plate.

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie, so I hope you all don't mind answering a quick question. My Ingles has a policy of allowing coupon usage on only 2 identical items. Is this just my Ingles or am I missing something?? It seems like you guys are buying a lot more than 2 of the same item. Is there a way to get around this?? Do you have to do separate transactions? Thanks for the help!

I'm planning on doing separate transactions. Some stores are more lax on the "rules" and will allow more - especially during triples time, so it may just depend. You can try calling ahead and ask if they are really firm on the 2 like items rule.

I've never run into a 2 indentical item rule at our Ingles. They do enforce the 3 doubled/tripled coupons per $10 rule ... (but they didn't years ago, I think they 'upgraded' their computer system at some point) .... but that is the only limit I've run into. I bought 8 brownie mixes and used 8 coupons ... and most everything else was in sets of 4 items/4 coupons.

On my trip yesterday, I had 4 of the .35 coupons on Pillsbury pizza crust, loaves, breadsticks, etc. My cashier was questioning me using all 4, but, because I pointed out that I had 2 pizza crusts and 2 loaves, she decided that it was ok. This led me to believe that if I would have had, say, 4 pizza crusts that she wouldn't have accepted them. Since I'm so new to this, I was just wondering if you all had had similar situations! Thanks for the input. Maybe my store is just more strict...that's a bummer! :(

The official Ingles policy states:
" No more than two (2) identical items are eligible for double coupon savings."
You must have a very strict store! Like others here have said, I've never had that part of the policy enforced. Maybe it was the cashier, have you tried this at other times?
Give it another shot, but remember it is a YMMV situation and they have the right to refuse the coupons.

Oh wow,
I am so exhausted, but it is a good tired.
My second trip
288 items
total $554.53 before Ingles card
$446.16 after card before coupons
- 174.84 in coupons
($379.69) total savings.
I can't tell you how much it helped having you all post what you got and how much you paid or got paid for each item. I was surprised that they allowed overage this time, which was used to help pay for the other items.
Just a few of the goodies was the
French's worsh. sauce .89 (.50 tripl.) .61 ov.
Pillsbury Pizza crust BOGO 1.13/2 (.30 tripl) .34 ov.
Suave Shampoo 1.18 (.50 tripl) .32 ov.
Powerade .77 (.30 tripled) .13 overage
Pillsbury Brownie Mix .98 (.35 tripl) .07 ov.
Pillsbury sweet rolls 1.00 (.35 tripl) .05 ov.
Gatorade 1.00 (.30 tripled) .10 ea.
Diet Pepsi Max .20 oz 1.38(.40 tripled) .18 ea.
Warm Delights 1.67 (.50) .17 ea.
Atkins Bar 1.25 (1.00 q) .25 ea.
Hormel Chicken chunks in a can 1.34(.35 tripl) .29 ea.
Lifesavers .68 (bogo) .34ea.
Of course, I got a lot more than this. But, these are the best deals I got.
I apologize if my math is off a little, it's late, I'm tired and my receipt stretched from one end of customer service to the other. They told me it was a record for that store. :giggle2:
I must say they were all very nice and patient. I do want to mention though that the cashier started out tripling each coupon as it went thru. This caused problems later. The computer thought I had more coupons than I did and stopped letting them go through. So, we had to get the manager to help. From now on though, I am going to ask them to scan all the coupons that will double first and then triple the one's that doubled. I must have been in line for about an hour. After she finally got them all tripled, I then gave her the one's I had that were .60+. It was amazing. My total started out over $500 and ended up under $200. Course, I would have been even happier if my oop was only $40 or $50, but I did get a lot of stuff.

I can't remember everything I bought, but I do remember that I bought 5 Visine using 5 coupons, so it looks like it's just your store. :frown:

Well, I did my first one today. I was a bit disappointed because they were out of the Jello singles, cheerios snack mix, and I couldn't find several items on my list. Their store layout makes no sense to me! I was very happy to find a tearpad display by the triscuits that got me some freebies! I was kind of peeved that it took so long to check out and I had to argue about the free wyb coupons - the customer service lady only wanted to give me .25 off because that is what the kool-aid cost. I had to argue that the coupon was for a free crystal lite, etc... Very annoying. Also, they wouldn't let me use a planter's coupon because the nuts were 2.88 instead of 3.00 and they wouldn't let me use a coupon on a marked down item either because she said that it had to be taken off the full regular price. (in that case, shouldn't they refuse coupons on sale items?) There were several coupons that did not triple because they apparently don't do overage at my store. So... it was an annoying experience. Oh... we also spent so much time in line and with the coupon examination that my ice cream bars melted. I have ice cream globs in my freezer now. :(
Anyway... all that being said - my receipt says I saved 119.66, and I spent 73.64 - 9.xx of that was tax. I got 97 items (including 16 Kool-aid packets), so even after subtracting the Kool-aid, I spent .91 per item. I do think that this sale wasn't that big of a deal. Most of their regular, non sale prices were ridiculously high and I passed on many items because I couldn't see paying that with a coupon - even if it was tripled! Also, I can usually do about as good at Kroger with doubled coupons and a good sale. Even so, there were a few things I was happy with (Eggland's best Eggs).
I may go to another store close by tomorrow in hopes of finding another tearpad, see if they have more stock, or at least get some more eggs. We eat a lot of those.

Hello All! I went to Ingles this past Tuesday. I bought 196 items my total was over $400. I used 167 coupons and paid $141 and some change. My receipt was a record breaker! It was 11' 8" long! Whew! I have 4 coupon binders (and yes I work full-time, and have kids...it's rough but I manage) but for the triples trip I pulled out any coupons I had for 50 cents or less! I know my stores aisles by heart and therefore arranged my envelopes in a small basket to fit in the front of the buggy. It took me a total of about 20 minutes to pull and sort coupons into the envelopes, 30-35 minutes to shop (I knew exactly what I was looking for) and 45 minutes to check out since the computer only automatically doubles the coupon and she had to manually triple 140 out of my 167 coupons. It was awesome and I ended up having a crowd at the register! People were amazed...as many are to our coupon adventures! I prepared them before hand when I was done shopping. I got the manager after loading 2 buggies of groceries and told her what I was doing and let her know that I was trying to make things as smooth as I could on the check-out process! She joined our endeavor cheering me on (as she does other times I shop). I had a field trip going on at the same time! There were 4 people with me that I have taken under my wing to show them the ropes! I am all for sharing my knowledge to those who listen. I love using coupons and grocery shopping! I think of it as a game while I'm doing it and when I am done I look at my savings as an hourly wage. Sometimes I make over $60 per hour...how about you?

Where were the Jello singles supposed to be? I was looking forward to getting some myself and didn't see a place with the dry Jello or the refridgerated ones. I also couldn't find the Weber Grilling Spray. :frown:

In my store, the Jello singles were with the other pre-packaged pudding stuff, and I think that was in the cake mix aisle. They were completely out. I couldn't find the grill spray either, but I couldn't find a lot of things!

Thanks again for all your help everybody. This was the best Ingles triples week, I've had in a while. At least we are stocked up on Powerade & gaterade for awhile. No, it wasn't perfect. As usual some prices weren't worth wasting my coupons on. Oh well, I'm off to see if Bi-lo is having super triples anytime soon. Happy shopping and saving everyone.

Thanks for the posts of the good deals! I think my totals were around $700 in groceries for about $174 oop - that includes meat!
Great fun and my first Triples!
