Not sure this is the right forum, but I'm a newbie so I thought starting here would be best.
Store was Albertsons
Sale was B1G1 Betty Crocker Brownies
IP Coupon was .55 off when I buy 2
Cashier wouldn't accept because I didn't "buy" 2 (1 bought 1 got one free) I just looked and said I got 2 she said you only "bought" ONE --snippy like
So I asked her to take them off because 2yo was "done" for day.
She also questioned me on a catalina but I pointed out I bought the required items
I believe it should have been accepted but it wasnt worth it to me at that point
#1 I know the weekday cashiers -- that was my mistake for trying on the weekend
Thanks for your help

I think she definitely should have taken the coupon--did she try and scan it and it beeped or something or did she look at the coupon and not even try? I have used a coupons in similar situations and never had a problem--if there were two boxes scanned the coupon should have gone through also!!
Sometimes after reading all the stories on here I feel so fortunate to have a great Shop Rite with cashiers that are almost always amazed when I check out. I had one guy after he scanned all my coupons say "Wow that is good shopping!!"
Hope I helped answer your question,
Kristy

No she didn't scan it, she scrutinized every coupon first. On that one, she didn't even try. She insisted and pointed out I only "bought" one. On the catalina when she questioned me as I was answering her she scanned it and it went through. My weekday friendly cashiers tell me they just scan because the register will beep if I didn't make the "qualifying" purchase. I just didn't want to hassle. And I'm too new to know better yet.
I'm lucky at my Target and one of my CVS' that I have had friendly helpful cashiers experiences. So far....
Thanks for your reply

Then since you did not "buy" two, did you bring one home, the free one?
No, that would be steaing you have to "buy" it...
try that ? next time
when they sa you are buying two, say fine take the one out of the bag and I will keep the one I do not have to buy for you to put in the bag!

She should have taken it. No reason to not take it. I have recently started applying coupons more and more and I get the BOGO free items, plus $1 off 1 item if you buy 2 and they take them all the time. Especially at Publix.
Better luck next time.

That is definitely YMMV, just like using two different coupons for B1G1 items.

I think I would have asked to see her manager. She should have taken it. Like was already posted here - if she scanned it and it didn't qualify it would have beeped.

I know that Safeway has instituted a policy to not accept ANY coupons on items that are already free, but I'm not aware of Albertsons having this policy.
It really is ymmv, another cashier would be more than happy to have let you use that, because, you were buying two items, had you not scanned your albertsons card. I try to go to the same cashiers all the time, although, with my issues, I always go to the self scan if at all possible.
Try again, using your normal cashiers, and avoid her like the plague! :)
