I am pleased to announce the creation of a forum for Houston's Food Town grocery store chain. (Not to be confused with the Foodtown chain, located in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania).
I'm also pleased to announce that smoothiie1206 has graciously volunteered to mod the Food Town forum!!!
So let the deals talks begin!!!

I am so happy to find this! I have a Food Town pretty close. (I'm in Pasadena), but rarely go there. I don't know why...they have good prices and we drive by it all the time. I guess it's time to stop in and find some deals!

Food Town does not double coupons. I am able to use as many coupons as I want.
Here in Baytown the cashiers manually enter each coupon. Sometimes its a pain because they have to read each one. But I do get lots of overage. And after a certain amount you need a manager override. My managers always cheerfully do it.
There are certain items I buy at Food Town that give overage or are a great bargain. Like toilet paper and paper towels. I will start a sticky with these items.
I am not sure about internet printed coupons. I will put a call into them and let you know.

Hi, neighbor! :wavehi: I have been finding some good deals at Food Town. Which one do you shop? I actually shop the one in South Houston on South Shaver. They are pretty coupon friendly, though limit to 5 like of each coupon. They also enter manually, but the cashiers I have been to were very nice and didn't seem to mind doing it.

I stopped by food town the other day and the only internet printed coupons they accept are the smartsource coupons. The cashier had first told me that they didn't accept any internet printed coupons so I asked to speak with the manager and she told me they did, but that they only accepted the ones that said smartsource.

This maybe YMMV. My store accepted them last week when I went in. I am sorry the gave you a hard time.

I only had 2 but they took them both. The cashier didn't bat an eye. I will talk to the manager next time I go in and see what the deal is.
I have looked everywhere for a corporate wide number and have had no luck.

My Food Town in the Bear Creek Area accepts internet q's with no problems. As long as it scans they don't question them.

I shop at either the Jones/West or Cypress North Houston locations.
I have never had any luck with FT taking any internet coupons, but now I see they have an online coupon site linked directly to the corporate website at Food Town Coupons - Texas Grocery Stores (http://foodtowntexas.com/coupons.php)

Wow!! I have been praying for a FT website. The site itself must be pretty darn new. I'm a pretty good web searcher, and I search for one almost monthly. My guess is since they promote SMARTSOURCE coupons, their printables will be easily accepted. This is GREAT, I'm reppin' ya.
UPDATE: Be aware that this is the Gerlands Corporation onwed FoodTowns. There is a list of addresses to the Gerland's owned stores. These are the stores that will probably be easy on the SMARTSOURCE printables.

I just emailed them through their new website about accepting IPs and they said they do accept them. smartsource, coupons from coupons.com and those that come directly from the manufacturers websites.
I wrote them a whole novel and all they answered was, "yes, we do."
I'm going there when I get the new ad and will be taking my IPs with me. let's see what happens.

I love food town. I shop at the one in Deer Park on Center street. I love the manager's special part at the front of the store, the other week I got over 3lbs of ground beef for a little over $5 and it wasn't even meat that was close to the sell by date!
They also have those wall of values which often have great deals on canned goods.
Not sure if they still are, but dr pepper product 2 liters were 88 cents.

Deals I got this weekend at the BWY 8 & Westheimer location:
Ajax $.75/1 - $.50/1 = $.25 FamilyDollar logoged MFQ coupon was instore ad. Manager had to approve the Q, but he did.
Budding Orig Tub lunchmeat $1.99/1 - $1/1 IP = $1
French's Worcestershire $1/1 - $1/1 MFQ = FREE on Frank's hot sauce website
They take IP, but were difficult with the French's Worcestershire because it did not have a watermark.
