Would Cubs match competitor's prices?

Would Cubs match competitor's prices (such as Rainbow's) from the newspaper?

I've never asked....if you remember to ask, please tell us what you found out.
I know that when Menards was first putting in their little grocery departments they told me they would honor grocery store ad prices for the same product.

I've tried before, years ago, and was shot down big time. The cashier looked at me like I was crazy.

Yeah, I just asked the last time I went shopping, and the lady at the front desk said no. Shame! Rainbow had a lot of cheap stuff advertised, and I had some coupons (expired ones, but Cubs takes them up to three months past the date), so I could have gotten lots of stuff cheap or free. =(
