I hope this is ok to post here.
I found a website a few days ago that needs crafting and non-crafting volunteers. www.heavenlyangelsinneed.com They are a 501c3 organization that makes things for kids of all ages and the families that have lost a child. I was thinking I was almost done with the afghan I am making for my sister for Christmas and wasn't sure what I was going to do next so started looking around. I came acrossed a link for this place and have been hooked ever since. Actually it is kind of selfish of me because I have been fighting depression lately and I know I always feel better about myself when I can contribute to something like this.
Have a look around but take note of a couple of things: it is a fairly new website I think and it has many "glitches" like you can register, but the auto-accept doesn't work and you will get an error message. They will manually accept you as soon is they see it. The site is a bit scattered so finding things isn't always real easy. It is a work in progress. (one of the things I think they need is website volunteers!) I don't gain anything by this, but if you want, Tell them Elizabeth in Iowa is who you heard about them from. That way they know I am getting the word out. I did tell them i wouldn't be able to do much until after the holidays but that is fine with them.
Check it out. And again, I hope this was ok to post here.
