So does that mean they aren't suppose to give overage...or you just can't get cash back??

I live in Aurora and there isn't a King Soopers that I know of that accepts internet coupons. I have even talked to managers who have verified that policy. It would be interesting to take a copy of the email into a store by me.

I think with my King Soopers if the product is say $.90 and I have a $.50/1 coupon, it will only double to $.90 not the full $1.00.

As for 2 like coupons...I've never been stopped for having more. I think most policies and stores are YMMV.

I was nervous when I first brought in an IP but they accepted them no problem at my KS (in Greeley). I would be interested to hear what they were to say if you were to bring this letter to their attention!

Ok...that makes sense. For some reason I was thinking about coupons that are already more than the price(before doubling).

the only limit I have come accross at KS is a cashier said that they can only do 3 like coupons. I asked him if he could delete the items off and run them sep. he wasn't very happy about it and huffed and puffed but said he would. he finished up my first trans and someone else came to relieve him. He told her what to do...which she started...but then she was like "this is silly, I bet it'll go through." she tried it and sure enough it went through no problem!!:BigHand::giggle2:

The 3-like coupon limit isn't a computer thing. The closest KS to me is a stickler about the limit, but there's another store a mile further that takes all my coupons (I bought 40 soups a few months ago and used 40 like coupons). So it really is YMMV.

My experience with KS is that the computer does give overage but they won't give cash back. If I have a really good deal going and I know there is going to be overage I will purchase a KS gift card for the estimated amount. For instance if I estimate the overage is going to be between $1 and $5 I will purchase a $5 gift card, if it is between $5.01 and $10 I will purchase a $10 gift card. I always try to make sure that the gift card is more than the overage. I haven't had any problems with this method so far. I have purchased (with overage) over $60 in gift cards at various stores (KS, Safeway, Walgreens, etc.) so far this year. hth

The gift card is an awesome idea. I have thought about trying that but I always forget about the gift card and always buy things to try and make up for my overage. I'm going to make myself a SIGN to remind myself next time! :giggle2:

My KS on Smoky Hill & Himalaya in Aurora/Centennial takes 3-like coupons and IPs. THe other one near me does not take IPs (on Tower & Reservoir).

Sure wish there was consistency to the schedule...

The one at Chambers and Mississippi will not take any, though they once did. At Arapahoe and Parker they will only take Smartsource i/p coupons. Of course it all depends on which cashier you get. I've even spoken to the district manager, store manager, and corporate customer service has called the store about this, and I NEVER get the same answer from anyone.

I have been able to use any i/p coupons at Colfax and Chambers. It's a bit of a hassle to go that far, but the savings and NOT getting hassled everytime I check out make it worth it.

The Tower & Resevoir KS is also closest to my house but I avoid that store as they are very reluctant in their coupon policy. I always follow their rules (3 like coupons, no IP's) but the checker at the u-scan has repeatedly been very rude to me as well as my friend on different occasions claiming that I didn't buy what's on the coupon (he tends to glance at coupons and doesn't read the full print). The other day he handed me back a coupon for an Oral-B toothbrush and said "this is for Proctor & Gamble, NOT Oral B".Of course I had to explain to him that Oral-B WAS Proctor & Gamble! LOL. Don't even think about asking him for a rain check as he will call the stock guys in the back and have you wait for a long time to make sure they don't have any more items in the back.

I am very new to this, and have a few questiona about King S I hope you great savers and answer for me.
#1 even thought they say they will double the man coupon, if the coupon says "do not double" on the top will they still double it?

#2 what do you mean by "Limit two coupons of like items per customer."

thanks fo r the help!

#2 what do you mean by "Limit two coupons of like items per customer."

If you look at the first # under the barcode that is what tells you if it will double. If the first # is a 9 it won't but if it's a 5 the register will automatically double it. If you have a clerk that "checks" the c/o they can override it to not double.

Some stores will only let you use 2 of each c/o. So say you have a c/o for kleenex tissue. The store that limits it will only take 2 of the kleenex tissue. If you have 2 different kleenex tissue c/o's then you can sometimes use 4 (2 of each kind). hth

All King Soopers should automatically double coupons unless they start with "9" or are a store coupon.

I had this happen to me today, I had coupons that doubled (.50 off Luna and Clif Mojo bars) and coupons that didn't ($2 off Revlon). I specifically asked the policy as I entered the store. They said that they would take 3 like coupons for items that doubled. I carefully picked out 3 Luna bars at $1 each (with 3- .50 coupons to be doubled to get the items for free) I did the same with 3 Clif Mojo bars. In addition I had the 11-$2 off Revlon coupons and 11 Revlon nail polishes. I was told I could only use 3 of the Revlon coupons even though they weren't to be doubled. I told that cashier she must be off her rocker! Why, someone please tell me why would you prohibit a sale? That has to be the dumbest policy KS has ever come up with! Whether I give them 3 two dollar coupons or 11 two dollar coupons they get reimbursed for EVERY penny of it unlike the doubles! I was told that they had this policy for all coupons (doubled and not doubled) because some customers would come in the store and clear the shelves of a product by using coupons and getting items for FREE. Well good for those customers and good for KS, the customer got a bargain and KS sold their product, after all, isn't that the concept of a grocery store? In the end since one of the FOS manager's told me the policy was 3 per transaction (rather than 3 per day <--- correct policy) They agreed to offer the 3 per transaction and rang me up 3 nail polishes at a time, I took the opportunity to run back and grab some more Clif and Luna bars which I had more coupons for, :hysterical: I'm not too happy with KS sales or policies. Looks like I'll stick to Albertson's unless KS has some killer deal, otherwise I won't waste my time...

The Kings in our area limit 3 like coupons per person per day. They will not even permit me to split up orders. Not just the coupons they double either, all coupons. It sucks on the deals where you have to buy 10 of an item to get the sale price, then they limit you to only 3 coupons. One time I even had 6 coupons for an item but 3 were for .40 off and 3 were .55 off and they would not let me use it because it was 6 coupons on like items even though the coupons were different. What a pain.
One time when I complained to the store manager, she told me they have this policy because a MANAGER in the past stole a lot of money by using coupons, so now they limit...???? I do not know if that is true or not, but it is wrong either way. The managers have not been able to show me where this policy is posted anywhere in the store. I also think it is wrong that the flyers they send me each week say "double coupons" real big on there, but say nothing about a limit. That is false advertising.

Once a month, I call the corporate office to suggest they change this coupon policy. I let them know that all the other stores in my area take all my coupons, even the ones that double. I also politely let them know I will continue to shop at Safeway, Albertsons (about:blank#) and Walmart (about:blank#) over Kings until they change this policy. If they have more people call about this every month, they might change it back. The phone number is: (877) 415-4647

Okay. Hi!
I stumbled across this webpage, and work as a checker at King Soopers (among other departments).

The network has been updated, so policies are going to be enforced more- regardless of the cashier or customer's say. (I don't know for certain if this is all stores, but computer changes are usually regionally the same).
Error messages like 'Too many coupons' WILL show up if you try to use over the allotted amount on one item.

Also, please don't get angry at the cashiers for not taking five of your coupons. If they are sticking to the limit, they are just trying to do their job effectively and you should never forget that.

Any other questions I can answer would be fine, as well.

Oh, and PLEASE, do not be like the person who posted their story about not getting 11 nail polishes for free and complaining about it.
We do NOT get reimbursed the way you think we do. It's ridiculous to demand we violate story policy because you feel you deserve something for nothing. Chances are that nobody in the store has anything to do with formation of policy- they're all just people trying to do their jobs.

Hi there...

I'm sorry some previous posters comment has upset you (the nail polish). You must understand alot of our posters are new and still learning the tools of the trade along with store policies and individual store rules. Would be nice if all stores would just enforce the same policy all the way around, that way we wouldn't have the confusion and such about the acceptance of coupons or other issues....

As for your statement about "not being reimbursed the way we think you are"...can you explain into further detail? How are you reimbursed?

Could you explain further what you mean by "over the allotted amount on one item"? And I am curious also about how the reimbursement was explained to you.

Most everyone on here is just trying to maximize the deals we can get using coupons. We do not believe we deserve something for nothing but hope that we can accomplish this by using sale prices and coupons. As with every group of people there are always a few that are excessive and unreasonable but this is discouraged and monitored on this board as much as the moderators can. I hope that you will take the time to read thru the start up threads to learn about couponing and see what a great way it is to stretch your hard-earned dollars.

Welcome to the boards!

I live in Greeley. I'm not sure what all you are wanting to know but I do know that their coupon policy includes that there can be no more than three like coupons per transaction. They also double coupons up to 50 cents and anything over 50 cents becomes $1. The stores I go to do accept printables. Ummm...I'm not sure what else. If there is anything else I may have forgotten, let me know and I will answer to what I know.

I'm sorry to say this, but I am not surprised that you work at King Soopers. I always follow the 3-like coupon rule and still get ridiculous treatment at my store. Well I won't worry about it :shrug7:...As you can see she registered just to post that one post and we haven't heard from her since....

As for King Soopers coupon policy, previous posters are correct...3 like coupons per transaction. I was under the impression it was that those 3 coupons would double but anymore after those 3 don't double. Sounds like maybe it's not and King Soopers only allows 3 like coupons period. I will contact corporate again and see if it can't be clarified alittle better.

So for now..stacyloucks..IPs do double unless they say store coupon or start with a 9 or a 0. 3 like coupons per transaction.

ETA: Looking at the 1st post of this topic is the King Soopers coupon policy that I had gotten from corporate it does state 2 like coupons per transaction, so HoneyDreams is contradicting that too!! Even though the store I shop at will limit me to 3 like coupons as will other stores close to me. So given that..I dunno but will contact corporate like I said..

Seems "they" have caught on to us couponers..seeing posts made in other Kroger forums I must follow suit....

We are no longer able to combine digital coupons and paper coupons. The digital coupon policy states:

Can I use paper coupons as well as digital coupons on the same item?
Limit of one coupon per item. Digital coupons and paper coupons may not be combined on the purchase of a single item.

I don't know if anyone has noticed this shopping lately. But let's not get ourselves in trouble by posting a deal found using both. You are more than welcome to post that there is an e-coupon available in case another shopper might not have a paper coupon for that item.

I currently live in Colorado Springs, but am moving up to Aurora in November, so it's good to know the policies and reactions from CSR's at stores up there. I make go back to my old routine of taking the weekly sale ad to Walmart and have them price match, then use the store coupon (which walmart policy says they will take), then use the manufacture's coupon. You might want to give that a try too; sometimes it's a better value!

Since I wrote my last post 1 1/2 years ago the policy at KS has changed again. They do accept IP's but only two of the same one per transaction. The rule of 3 like coupons is still strictly enforced. It's also good to get to know which cashiers are coupon friendly. There are several who are downright hostile and will add on money to my transaction if a coupon says "Do not double" on it (even if the computer doubles it automatically). I still prefer Safeway as they double all my coupons but will shop at KS if there's a deal I can't pass up. HTH.

* We do not accept "FREE product" printable coupons with no purchase requirements. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable but will be MUCH less common than traditional value-off coupons.
* We do not accept coupons for more than approximately 75% of a product's value without advance notice. Legitimate PAH coupons will not be for a high value related to the cost of the item. Example: a $2 coupon will be acceptable for a $5 or more, but a $2 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate.
* Coupons may be denied if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates. Nearly all coupons are 'non-transferable' meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
* Coupons may be denied if they appear to have been altered in any way.

This only serves to confuse me more! They seem to contradict themselves regarding the 2 IP per manufacturer.

I wonder if they're just making it up as they go along!

Hope this post helps someone who can decipher "King Sooper-speak"
