Did you find a clearance deal you would like to share? If so please post it here.
NOTE: Here is some info I came across recently about clearance at CVS
Some info on the clearances at CVS.... *this was originally posted toward the end of Spring 2007
There are two major types of clearances: AMM (automatic Markdowns) and clearances on "Seasonal" stuff like holidays, spring items, summer items... these are things that are not regularly carried.
This week, the seasonal markdowns just started for the Spring Items. The
Spring Items (spring flowers, storage, wind chimes, etc) SHOULD be marked down to 50%. Next week they'll go to 75% (if the store manager doesn't push it to get it out of there sooner... they'll mark it down earlier... its up the the GM). They have a deadline to get "summer" set... so they may get in a hurry to get it outta there..
Ok, AMM's.... Every year, CVS has "Plans". This is where they "rebuild" each section of the store (shampoo/conditioners, hairstyling, shaving/deodorants, etc..) Soon before they "rebuild" a section of the store, the system sends down discounts on things that will no longer be included in the new "Plan".
The system is supposed to send the AMMs down on Tuesdays, but they come on Mondays most of the time. Good store mgrs will get the AMMs started on Mondays (these are the little tags you see hanging on the shelves in home locations for 25%, 50%, 75% and some of them just say clearance with no discount). These clearance deals are good until they're gone and no more product can be ordered or will come into the stores. Coupons can be used on these items. These items will normally go on clearance for 4 weeks... 25% first week, 50% second week, 75% third week, and then they will go back to just clearance with no discount. At that point, its up to the mgr to manually mark those down and move them to the clearance end-cap. (This should be in the back of the store on the left hand side most of the time).
In the first of the year, right after the Christmas clearances, makeup goes
on clearance. Soon after that is shampoo, hair styling/color/accessories,
soaps/body wash, lotion, deodorants, mostly health and beauty. The "other side" of the store will come later in the year.

***CVS 2/8-15/09 CVS UNADVERTISED $5 ECB/$15***:
$8.99 BOGO free Russell Stover boxed candy (ad on front page of the 2/8-15/09 circular) has an UNADVERTISED SPEND $15 get $5 ECB deal on purchase of these Russell Stover candy boxes.
I purchased 8 boxes total

No telling if there is a limit because it is unadvertised and does not show a limit on the receipt. The CVS store mgr was surprised at the deal and could not find it listed anywhere either. Lucky us!!:whistle67:
Makes for great inexpensive valentines day teacher gifts.
Thanks!! which kind did you get. I think there is a February/Monthly deal for Russell sugar free but maybe all kinds are included? TIA.

I got two different types: caramels (white and purple box) and nuts (gold and bronze box). I believe that you are right- it seems that these items are being accepted as if it were sugar-free RS from the earlier Feb monthly ad.

Alot of the stores I've been in over the past couple of days have alot of Skin Effects products on clearance and there was an emailed cvs coupon for $5/2 making them very cheap or free. I also found Almay facial bars for .47 which I think you can use your $1/1 Almay cosmetics coupons...I haven't tried it yet though. I'm still finding quite a bit of Pantene on clearance at my stores. One of my stores had a bunch of Neutrogena face products on clearance for really good prices but I didn't have any coupons...

I had to find these by scanning buggies filled with mixed sale and clearance items:
I am new and did not realize that they just throw sale and clearance items into buggies together, at least in my store.

Yesterday, I got a Sunsilk Anti-Poof shampoo and Anti-Poof conditioner for $1.07/each and used my $2/2 Sunsilk coupon that expires 3/31/09. I was SOOO excited! This is in South Jersey and was on the clearance endcap.
I'm not sure which insert they are from but they are probably in the database. I have been holding onto these coupons, searching both WAGS ans CVS for Sunsilk clearance, for the last couple months and finally found some. I snagged the only 2 bottles on clearance at my store.
I added this to the spreadsheet.
Also, they had St Patrick's beads, pins, hats etc all on 75% off on the clearance endcap. I ran into one of the managers I know and he said they forgot to put them out and so now they are going directly to clearance! I got a pin that blinks and says "Kiss Me I'm Irish" for $0.75 and a string of green beads with a green mug hanging from it for $0.25. I'll probably go back for more tomorrow if I get a chance.

There were 80 count and 160 count Playskool baby wipes clearanced out at 75% off.
The CVS Soft Cloths Supreme 2x80=160 wipes ALOE are regularly $5.29 and are 75% off (making them $1.32)!! This was the clearance price at 4 CVS in my area. The CVS Soft Cloths Supreme 160 wipes SCENTED WITH ALOE are also 75% off (making them $1.32 also).
I highly recommend you scan the wipes to check the price. At 1 of the CVS that I went to, the prices on the shelves were still the normal prices, but when scanned they came up 75% off. At another CVS, the tag on the shelf said "Clearance" but no indication of the % off. Those items also rang up for the 75% off price. :BigHand:

The Huggies 144 ct was only 50% off in one store and I got the only one. All the Playskool stuff was wiped out that I really wanted. The other store the Huggies were clearanced at 6.49 while supplies last (lots left... hmm... I wonder why?!). Then again I couldn't find any clearanced Stayfrees either. I searched around for the Pampers - and I never saw any 2 pk refills only the newer 3 packs. I think the smaller packs are getting cleared out in favor of the larger packs.
Playskool is that even BPA free... I don't see any mention of it... so I figure it's not.

Yes - it is somewhat regional. Your stores might have already sold all of their huggies 144 ct before they went on clearance. I think clearance is at the discretion of the region/store.

It's sort of a store-by-store thing. Yesterday I found 3 boxes of the Lansinoh pads at 75%, then went to a store less than half a mile away and they were still 50% off - I even scanned them, and they rang up $3. booo. They had tons on the shelf though, so I'm going to keep my eye on them!
This is what I did today:
2 pkgs 240-ct Playskool wipes, 1.87 each
1 pkg 160-ct Playskool wipes, 2.90
2 pkgs Scented 80-ct Playskool wipes, 82 cents each (the unscented were still 1.65)
2 pkgs Gold Emblem chocolate-covered peanuts, 99 cents each
-2/10 CVS brand Q
-2/2 GE nut items Q
used about 6 ECBs to get 800 wipes!! yay!!!
I checked all the prices on the price scanner, and all were ringing up for less than they were marked. That's always a nice surprise. My new motto: always scan to check the clearance prices!!!!!

thanks for posting that yourecently found the Lansinoh pads I want to get some of these for my sister.
The wipes finally went down to 75% off here - must have happened this week sometime - I have been stalking my 2 stores. I got 2 of the large pkg Playschool wipes, 8 pampers 120 wipes, and 3 Playschool 80 ct wipes plus some other random stuff on clearance for $8.36!!! Yeah for me! I just became an auntie and am going to Seattle to see my new niece in a few weeks, this is a major score.
The Playschool refill packages of wipes were 3.75 - if you have the $3/1 IPs from way back when (exp 12-31-09) they are only.75 - I had 3 of them luckily.

I was just wondering if by chance the wrong tags were up and I should go scan them. {I am sorta fearful of the checker.. so I try not to do that...lol} Any hints, let me know!

I have a Q for any Gentle Naturals product. I think it came in a mailer about a year ago that looked like junk mail, but I happened to open it and there were a bunch of good coupons including that one and a free A&D ointment. Now I just have to wait for the cradle cap treatment to go to 75% (still 50% in my area). Also, the Palmer's Stretch Mark cream is 50% off right now.

I'm thinking it's just perfumed oil. If my baby had some sort of skin problem I'd be steering away from any extra ingredients MAINLY fragrances which can irritate skin & cause burning

At my CVS: don't remember all the prices but the % off, sorry!
Palmer's Cocoa Butter 50% off
Reliadose (medicine thing that looks like a bottle) $3 (75% off)
Playskool widemouth bottles and nipples 50% off, like $3+ I think
Not baby stuff but, I saw some Puffs and Kleenex that were 25% off, something to watch for when it gets to 50-75% off. The 25% off price was like $1.60+/-.

Mystore had cortaid poison ivy kits for 1.07. The original price was over 10 bucks. They also had airborne chewables and airborn powders originally priced around 8 and on sale for .88. The dates were good til 2011. I did have a 2.00 crt and it paid for the 2 poison ivy kits.

Finally!! I got a bunch of Playskool wipes for $0.82 each (the cashier wanted to get some for herself too that's how good it was). I also got (2) Pampers wipes at $1.57 and (2) CVS 2 pack wipes for $1.32. Plus my other stockpile of wipes (can I call it a stockpile if I paid at least 0.02 a wipe for them?), I'd say I'm done for the year. I used a $2/10 CVS on the Playskool & CVS. I was not a believer in the $0.01 or less per wipe rule before b/c I could never find it for that low of a price. But now I am. I cleared the rest of the shelves - b/c of 4 stores I've been to, 3 were completely cleared of the items already including the Playskool cups, pacifers, bowls etc (and one had just 1 huggies left but it was still 50% or 25% off). First time I've ever been soo lucky. An eldery lady bought all the 90% off stuff (non baby that I saw). I wish I got some but I was happy enough with the baby items - the only way I got it was b/c it wasn't tagged. All the tagged items in all stores were gone at 50%. I spent about $10 or so but I did get a lot of wipes.

I got the huggies 141 ct for 50% off which made them $2.99 and was able to get 2 and use 1/2q. $5 for 282 wipes not great but needed them for kindergartners. Also got the playskool 80 & 72 wipes for .82. Thanks for making me look.

I found boxes of the Gerber graduate multigrain crackers for 75c. Just last week I gave away a few coupons I had from a homemailer that were 75c/two but that's my poor luck.
Also found lots of wipes on clearance, some Playskool, some Pampers refills and some Huggies Clean Team. I only had Huggies bath & body Qs, $1 off, so I only grabbed two of those marked $1.50 on the shelf. They rang up half of that, only 75c, so the register beeped for the cashier to adjust the 2nd Q down to 50c. I wish I had thought faster and had her ring in another pack of the wipes so I would have paid 25c instead of just losing 50c. Oh well again. I've got more of those Qs coming in the mail, so when I go back I'll get 4 packs and use three coupons.
Also found Balmex for $1.25 I think. Just printed two IPQs from their website for $1 off and will go back this afternoon for the last two they had.
If I can get a CRT for Playskool wipes or find a Q, I'll get those too. The pampers big refill pack was $3 on the shelf, though as I have learned those prices aren't always accurate.

Found the following good deals Sunday...
The Playskool brand baby wipes are now 75% off down here. The single pack is 82 cents and the double pack is $1.45, triple pack is $1.87. So, if you have your $1 coupon...a great deal.
There are many types of deordorants marked to 75% down too. The thing with CVS is that they do not always post the clearance items, so use the self-check to check each item's price. My stores never give me grief about using my coupons...so for most of these I was able to subtract another 50 cents to a dollar.
anyway--if you go...look for the following...
Clinical Strength Old Spice, "Pure Sport" (in a box) with the green label is $2.50 ..this was great because it usually is around $10 and w/$2 coupon...really cheap! This item was not marked as clearance, but the scanner worked.
Some of the following were marked...and even if an item is marked at 25%, double check...I found several items marked 75% off, but the tags only showed 25% OR 50% if they had tags at all.
Arrid Gel Ultimate 82 cents
AXE Dry Action $1.12
Blade "scorpian" $1.12
Speedstick Musk Deordorant with black lable 80cents
Old Spice "Swagger" $1.12
Old Spice Red Zone, clear gel "Aqua Reef" $1.25
Gillette Gel "Storm Force" $1.12
Gillette 3x "Power Rush" with power beads, lime green lable 92cents
Lady Speedstick "Freesia" 2-pack $1.55
Rightguard Sport clear gel 82cents
Rightguard clearstick "Fresh" green lable 82cents
other...
OB Tampons Super 40 count $1.56
OB Tampons Ultra 40count $1.56
Visine individual strips, large box $2.40...some boxes have a $1 coupon on the box
Happy shopping!

oh how I wish I knew the method to the madness behind CVS clearance. My stores seem to be the last to clearance ANYTHING! Stuff ive seen other locations take my store at least a month or 3 to mark down! I mean I know I am in Alabama but does it have to be that slow really? Anyone know how their system works?

There was a "sidewalk" sale today at the mall that our CVS is located in...big table out in front and another 2 inside. Just got a "few" clearanced items since the rest of my family walked around the mall while I cvs'd.

Did you happen to scan the razors to double check the price? I know at both stores I went to they were not marked down according to location or shelf sticker, but sure enough they rang up $2.99. I'm always price checking anything that is mentioned here because often my stores are behind on changing the tags.

So, I went to check on the Aleve, which my CVS closest to me did not have. I ended up seeing that Advil Cold & Sinus in the red box, 20 count (regular price $8.19 at my CVS), was on sale for $2.05. In the coupon database I found coupons for $2 off Advil Cold and Sinus and it lets you print as many as you want. I found Alavert (adult) on clearance yesterday. This was on the 12 count box but they had more boxes that had the "extra" 6 tablets in them making it an 18 count box. The tag on the shelf said they were clearanced for half price, $5.50 but when I scanned the price they came up as $2.75! Use a printable $1/1 or $2/1 from a past insert (sorry I'm not sure which insert it came from) and get yourself a 12-18 count box of Alavert for $0.75-$1.75! :BigHand:
I checked the expiration dates and they all expired between 8/2011 and 1/2012. I picked up 4 that expired in 1/2012! Oh, I also found more boxes on the end of the medicine aisle in a hanging cardboard display...so 2 places to look!:wink7:
I hope this helps someone! This is the only allergy med that helps my husband so I was thrilled to get it so cheap!

If you need them bad enough but your store doesn't have them tru has them for $2-$1 q=$1. They have the packets and the 50ct tubs. I don't know the end date for this sale.
Qs on clearance depends on how it is marked down. If the barcode is blacked out and it's entered in as non taxable you can't use a coupon. If it's just a clearance price in the computer you can.

My store posted a sign on the clearance rack that says "Per corporate we can not take manufacter's coupons on clearance items." Do you have something different in writing? TIA
I can't believe that corporate really said this, I bet they took it upon themselves to post that sign.
I mean, why would they care? The store gets reimbursed for the coupons, as we all know.

If I buy something on clearance that has a black line and/or the price tag on the UPC, it's entered as a taxable (or non-taxable item) and then they manually enter my coupon as a mfr coupon....so, I guess YMMV on the blacked out barcodes as to whether or not a coupon can be used.

We've been eyeing them, but would NOT pay 89 cents for them (they have Transformers on them). Low and behold, dh saw 75% tags on them today in CVS....so we got a bunch for 22 cents each. :) For us, they are in their own cardboard stands near summer aisle.:BigHand:

I am wondering about this also. One store in my area is 25 percent and another is 33 percent right now and they have tons and tons left. I caught the 90 percent off last year and got a boatload of stuff. Would love to catch it this year. I would say it would probably be in the next couple of weeks. One of my stores was putting out Thanksgiving items the other day, so I am thinking that they are going to get rid of the summer stuff pretty soon. I can't wait!!!!

I have a funny story about these. I was at a store today and they were 75% off. I got a few to see if they count for the spend 15 get 5 ecb. They did not. Well I had to try the strawberried peanut butter ones just to see how gross they are. They were good. I decided to check another store to get a few more packs and since I had buy 2 m&ms get a transformers pack free coupons...Well at the next store they were 90% off! I got maybe 200 packs of M&m's (the regular flavors count too in the transformers pack!)
I also got gum ball pails, cotton candy buckets, super blow pops, some sour spray stuff, and chewy fire balls. All 90% off! It was a whole cart of single serve candy for $27!

I just bought a bunch of these today too (75% off here). I bought the regular M&M's and the Peanut M&M's that were in the transformer pack. I too had the B2G1 coupons. Bought all they had of the regular M&M's...so not brave enough to try strawberry and peanut butter...I mean seriously, who came up with that combination?! :sick77:
I'll keep my eyes on the other store here in town and hope that they go 90% off!

I saw those too! Was it a nougat center? I honestly can't remember but I thought the same thing...I'm not really saving any money if no one will eat them!
I might have to break down now and try those PB&J m&m's...I'll let the kids decide.

Here is the deal.
Ongoing clearance - Playskool Newborn diapers. I think it was about the size of Pampers jumbo pack. $5.xx ( I want to say $5.49, but not sure.) It was either 25% or 50% off - did not have too much time to look. Not a great price yet, especially for size N. It can be a little better if you have $1 off any Playskool item, but still not great.
Upcoming - only 1 CVS in my area had tags "Get it while it lasts." Mega packs only. Pampers and Huggies. Other CVSs did not have the tags yet. Sounds like diaper aisle stalking :hysterical:

I am new to CVS (Longs convert). At my CVS, there were several diaper items marked with clearance tags but scan regular price at the scanner. As I am new to CVS, can you tell me if items marked with the clearance tags on the shelf are suppose to scan clearance price on the price scanner or is the clearance price manually marked down by the cashier?

There's an even better deal on the pampers easy ups size 5 girls only 23 count at Rite Aid that's been working that rings up 2.87 and with the 1.50 coupon they are way cheap but it only rings up that price for the size 5 that I know of.

The tags that you are seeing are "Get it while it lasts clearance." This is the first stage of clearance at CVS. It will ring the regular price. They are there to attract attention of regular customers who might fall for this tactic. Says clearance, then it is clearance... In reality, these tags are the first step, then 25% off, then 50% off and so on... For CVSers, they are the mark of future clearance. Means if you see it, watch it out... Check every week to make sure the price is going down and buy when it reaches the right price for you. It is tricky as some items never reach the price you want as regular customers buy it before that (they just do not know that it can get even better.)

Just found Wyler's Light & Sugar Free Hawaiian Punch "Singles to Go" on sale UNMARKED for .25 ea. There are 8 packets in each box...and are great, especially when travelling or in school lunches. The flavors I saw were Wyler's Light Lemonade, Pink Lemonade and Orange. The Hawaiian Punch flavors are: Regular Hawaiian Punch and Lemon Berry Hawaiian Punch. The sunglasses are not at 90% by me but I did get 3 pairs at a store near Vorhee NJ store yesterday for $4.99 was $19.99 really needed a pair as I lost my last two and they were pricey.. My mgr said the glasses were not part of the 90% and that the other store should not have had them at 75 so I guess I made out..
I am just happy I got some stuff and I still left tons on the shelf. I can only use so much there are always others who like a good deal too.

None of my stores had any of the lawn chairs at 75% or 90% off. In fact, none of the lawn chairs were on clearance. So, I got a grill cover, a wiffle bat set, some beach toys, and some napkins! No "expensive" items were clearanced though. Wahhh! I really really need some chairs. Mine are all rusty. =(

I'm currently in Upstate New York (dog sitting for my sister and brother in law while they go on a cruise). I stopped at a couple of CVS's yesterday to roll some ecb's and get my weekly free's....well second CVS said all the 75 % off stuff would be 90% off tomorrow...Ummm I gulped big...lol. Anyways she said I could have the 90% off today if it made it easier for me. Yay! :BigHand:
I got :
5 piece patio set for $13.00 Reg. Price $129.99. (since I'm in NY..this will be a nice little surprise for my sister for when she returns from her cruise)
Tinsley Blake pink quilted messenger type bag for $1.50. Reg. Price $14.99 My cousins 11 yr has mentioned several times she really likes my Tinsley Blake Quilted Beach Bag so this will be a nice gift for her.
(2) Beach Bags/Totes for $1.30 each (Reg. Price $12.99) that were all black with little sandals, beach chairs, sunglasses on it. Very Florida looking so that will be a gift for my New Jersey Aunts..:giggle2:lol. They'll think I bought them in Florida. hee hee.:giggle2:
I was able to use the $3 off any $10 CVS Brand crt from scanner machine since all the above items are CVS Brand. :BigHand:
At the first CVS I got (6) pairs of flip flops at $1.75 each (Reg. Price $6.99) so 75% off. I was able to use the $3 off any $10 CVS Brand crt from scanner machine since they are CVS Brand.
Wish I was home to get that patio set. I missed it last time around too. Oh well.
There were goggles, beach toys, etc. Not much of great interest to me other than what I got.
I'm happy!!

Yea ya did a few minutes BEFORE me!! :hysterical: Just kidding! I was so set in getting in and getting out I almost didnt see ya.
OH WELL! I didnt get a lot of the stuff I wanted for DS but I did manage to get my coolers and that is what I really wanted.
The 34.99 coolers with wheels and handle were 3.49 and I got TWO!
I also got a smaller igloo cooler that was 19.99 for 1.99
A cooler bag for the car for .79
5 bottles of bubbles for .09 each
3 different blow up pools 1.29-3.99
Sprinklers for .99
I went once too early and once almost too late today. It really is about timing thats for sure.
Does anyone know when the chairs in a bag will go more than 50%?

Oh and I actually went to 2 other stores today and neither were 90% and the managers both said they wouldnt put it 90 unless they absolutely had to. They had room to sit on it already had their halloween out and were in no hurry to get rid of it. They rarely take anything 90% and this was no exception.

I called the others down in town and all but 29th St. were at 75%. The mgr at 29th St (Steve) said his stuff was 90% off but there wasn't hardly anything left. Spoke to the Rt. 60 location (I know the mgr there too) and was told that they clearanced it to 90% prior to moving to their new location just over the hill. :wink7:
