Susie called me fairly frantic and I, of course, thought she was playing another practical joke on me. When I figured out she was serious, I had her stay on the phone while I called the 24 hour store from another phone. They called the alarm company while keeping me on the line while I kept Susie on the line.... Suz was about to have a panic attack so I assured her the alarm company would call someone. About then her family arrived as did a couple of police cars and they all stood outside while Susie stood inside talking to me on the cell phone. I decided to start a thread on HCW and was able to read the hysterical responses to Susie in real time!!!! Her son actually took a picture of her and sent it to my phone which I posted on HCW too! We had so much fun laughing for an hour while we waited for the assistant manager to return to the store to sheepishly unlock the door and give my friend her freedom! My fav' response on the HCW thread was someone who asked if I had forgotten to teach my coupon trainee a very important point: leave the store before they close! We were happy the manager didn't get fired and that Susie got lots of apologies along with a gift card for her incarceration. We have a lot of CVS stores around her and apparently they all rec'd re-education about procedures pre-closing.

I was hoping to see this story entered into the contest. I remember reading your post back when it happened. I almost peed my pants laughing at the time. I still have a good laugh at your friend's expense.

Actually, the experience I'm having lately is not that funny. My computer was running really slow lately so I tried a new anti-virus. Guess what? It was the coupon printer that was infected so I let my program quarintine it thinking if I downloaded it again it would be okay. My Webroot program immediately flags it every time as a virus. Anybody know a cure or way around this without slowing down my computer again? I'm missing out on all the savings and I can't take it anymore!!

My story is not that funny but it did tickle me a bit when it happened. The triples before last I was walking through Harris Teeter and, like always, I see people admiring my binder. I met these two cutie patuti little old ladies (probably in their 80's), they were walking around attempting to use their coupons. Once the saw my binder they insisted on walking around with me for a bit to see how I "do it". I did not mind. After they thought they had the hang of it they went about their business trying to get deals like I was. Here I am standing in the dairy department and all of the sudden these cute little ladies come around the corner begging for my help. All they wanted me to do was go through their buggy and match MY coupons up with THEIR items and make deals with what they had in the buggy. I did and ended up saving them quite a bit of money. Once they saw what I could do they kept insisting that I go to their assisted living home and teach everyone there how to coupon like I can. I have not had a chance to do that yet but now everytime I am at Harris Teeter and see them they still insist that I teach their friends what I am doing. The best part was one of the little ladies said that I could use her garage and they would all pay me. You really had to be their and see these little ladies faces to really get the whole picture.

LOL! I actually got chastized today by one of the cashiers @ CVS, for not coming in last week!!!! She's like "girl you missed some deals, did you go to another CVS?" I told her I'd had Bronchitis and hadn't been out much. She's like "oh come on, I know you have enough cold meds stockpiled to get you up and out for at least afew deals" Ha ha, guess she knows us pretty well...course my meds. knock me out.

Yesterday at Walmart I checked out with 16 overage items and was about to wheel the cart outside when a cashier I recognized a bit said, "You know what you just did, don't you? I started to freak out in my mind thinking that I'd triggered a visit with the overage police or something. I said, "What did I do?" She then to my relief proceeds to tell me about how ever since she'd observed me knock a $90 bill down to $20 at another store she'd been saving every coupon she gets. Then another cashier joined in the conversation and asked more about how much I save while she looked through my binder. It was kinda neat and eased my mind about future Walmart coupon runs.

Well the only thing I have... is the lady that stopped dd and I .. held up her envelope of coupons and asked if the boxes in our carts were our coupons !! She was quite shocked.. LOL

My review:

Having been a serious coupon user for several months I thought I wouldn't learn anything from this movie but would be entertained. I ended up having several "A-ha" moments and was very glad to see in person and in action several seasoned shoppers. There are many good money saving tips that many people have no clue about. I also loved the fact that men were portrayed as smart consumers as well as women. This is a smart, funny, and enlightening film.
