I was at Kroger one day and the coupon was beeping. I was insisting that I bought the right thing. I had checked it 2 times to make sure. I got mad and said just put it through when the cashier looked through every bag I had. I had a whole cart full and there was a long line. She said very nicely that I was trying to use the coupon on the wrong brand. Oops I was so embarassed. I apologized and bought the item anyway to show that I was an honest person that made a mistake. That was the first time I did that and was not the last time either.

Hmm let's see my funniest story would have to be when DBF and I went to the rediclinic at HEB when I had a major sinus infection. mWe waited for probably an hour before we even got into the room and I was the only person there and hacking up a long no less. DBF knew that I was not feeling good so he came in the room with me instead of going and exploring the store like he wanted ( we really don't shop there at all ... maybe once in a blue moon but he had deli counter meat on the mind... sigh lol)

Once I was done I told him sure no problem let's go look even though I was ready to get my scrips and go pass out. Well on the way ouot I noticed the sobe hangtags on a cart on display. I told my trusty no shame about it coupon grabber to grab some. Well he can't figure out how to get them off the little hook they are hanging. When suddenly they go EVERYWHERE except the couple he has in his hand. He then blushes super red and says go go go. I almost wet myself right there I was laughing so hard.

Thankfully he's gotten over his moment of embarrassment and loves to go blinkie hunting again lol

Oh man... this is funny... I haven't been couponing long, so don't have GREAT stories... but I was buying Touch O' Gray Haircolor recently for a deal at CVS and I was already getting weird looks from the cashier and then my full-headed, dark-haired, 26 year-old husband walks up... then the looks were positively confused. I just said, "Thanks! Have a great day!" :)

I was really tempted to buy the Wags FAR bald guy wipes for my bald bald baby last month! :)

One of the funniest couponing stories was one of my first. DH and I went around to something like 5 stores, picking up a lot of things. (I didn't have a stockpile at the time and it was a great frees and CVS week). When we were done, I couldn't get the car trunk shut, I had to rearrange the groceries a few times. DH is generally pretty quiet. We get home and are unloading, a neighbor asked if we were "preparing for winter hibernation" or something to that effect. She was commenting on how much money we much have spent and so forth (really nosey neighbor), saying she never spends more than $100 per week etc etc. DH looked at me and said, well honey, guess we got to do that two more times in order to get over $100. The neighbor turned red. It was funny.

Recently, I took my DD's to Walmart. They told me how much they had to spend. I get to the register, and my 6 year old pulls out $4 and a $1 Lipton coupon. She needed $5.

Me: "Sweetie, you only have $4. You have to put something back."

DD: "No I don't. I have $5. See?" She counts out (4) $1 bills and the coupon.

Me:"No sweetie, you have $4. You didn't get any tea, you can't use the coupon."

DD: "But Mommy, you use coupons to pay for your stuff. See, it's a $1. I can use it."

LOL. Silly little girl. She didn't understand the concept that you can only use the coupons on the products they were for - that they can't be used for anything like money!!

I ended up giving her the $1.

I don't have any really great moments yet, but yesterday my 8 year old daughter and I went to Wal-mart in Greensburg, Indiana. After we got our nails done, we went coupon shopping, she's getting as bad as me. We got some free lotion, cheap cat food and free dog treats and decided to leave as the people were slow and rude. Went up to the check out and decided to do the one that I do myself, what a mistake. We aren't sure if the person watching these registers was a male or female, but they got alittle frustrated because I had several coupons, of course, and the do it yourself machines don't like coupons. The person called a manager over after I noticed that most of the coupons didn't go through. I told the manager to just cancel everything and I would go to a regular check out, but nope, she wouldn't do it. I'm still not sure if they got it corrected, but we were just ready to kill before it got completed.

Sorry it wasn't real good, but I would love to win the video!!

Chaotic is how it almost ALWAYS has been to shop at my local target. even though the new store is a LOT more coupon friendly there are still many many poorly trained employees AND managers. but i am working my way through them and helping them learn

right around christmas one of my favorite front end manager greeted me and asked what torture i had come up with with coupons for them that day! LOL we both laughed and I told him my week is not complete without making someone pull thier own hair out with me. He said I need to let them win ONCE in a while! LOL I reminded him that I actually HAD given in a few week prior concerning a gift card deal on food items and how I cannot pay for my entire transaction with the food stamps i had at the time. That NO WHERE in the add does it say you cannot get the gift card if you pay with food stamps. I altually had conceded that even if i paid $5 oop and got a $5 gift card back that it was still a GREAT deal. He laughed and said he was amazed that i had actually backed down. He thought he and the store manager woudl have a RIGHT FIGHT on thier hands with me. But he thanked me for letting him win ONCE in all the years we have been going back and forth!

My story is not really funny, but it sure made me laugh. I was shopping in a particular store call no name (kroger) and this cashier didn't want o honor my coupons, so after trying to convince 2 cashier, 2 assistant manager and some other person just butting end. I just told her to give me my coupons back and then i left the buggy there with the groceries all bagged up and everything vowing never to set foot in that store again. So I get to the truck along with my 2 toddler kids strap them in their car seats, put my seat-belt on only realize that I left my bag of things that I had already paid for and had to go back into the store and get it. But the bag boy had already started putting it back on the shelf. So I had to wait even longer but when the cashier finally gave me my bag she didn't say a word cuz from the look on my face, I would not have said anything to me either.

The funny part to me was how I broke that vow so fast.

Ok, not super funny but it is the most recent, therefore still in my brain.

I went to kroger the other day to do the mega deal. I was combining the mega deal with the Quaker $5 mail in offer, so my total was ~ $4.6x which is WAY high for me normally,lol. Anyway, at the end of the transaction the cashier looks at the receipt and says "wow, you saved 86% today" I had to respond that that was rather upsetting seeing as how I am used to upper 90% savings, lol.
Anyway, a few days later I go back to do yet another mega sale deal, without the Quaker this time. Same cashier finishes ringing up my coupons and looks at the screen puzzled and says "what?"(total was .7x cents)
So I say to him "you don't recognize me from the other day?"
He looks up and says "hey, weren't you the 80% lady that said you usually save upper 90%?"
I say "yep", look at my receipt and add "97% today, now that is more like it! See you tommorrow"
