Good to know that there are many of us who do not want total control. They are talking about a handful of hacker sites but let's be realistic: Once SOPA becomes law they can take down any site they don't like. When this is done in China or elsewhere, the Washington drums are roaring, but SOPA is nothing else but total control of the internet and saying goodbye to freedom of speech and expression.
Oh, and another thing: Yes, we have the power to influence and stop efforts like SOPA. We just need to stand up and express what we want and don't want. Write or call your senators and congressmen, sign petitions, leave messages on boards. If there are enough people standing up for their rights, politicians will listen. They need you to vote for them, don't forget that. It makes no sense to complain afterwards, if you do not take the soup off the stove while it is burning.
