Forum Reorganization Project

Pardon our dust as we are undertaking a major forum reorganization project.

When we first started Hotcouponworld almost 4 years ago we never planned on it getting so big. And big it is, with over 300 forums (sub forums, sub sub forums) the forum structure has gotten too big and hard to navigate. So we are working on a reorganization project to better handle some of the forums and to make it easier to find what you are looking for. Some of our existing forums are going to move and some are going to be put on the chopping block. Some forum are going to get merged with other forums and we are going to be utilizing thread prefixes to help organize content within the forums.

You may have already seen a few of these changes the past month with our drug store forums (CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens) get a slimmer look by using thread prefixed instead of sub forums. I have had good feedback on that change from many members (and no complaints thus far!)

The project is not going to happen overnight and we will be working on it bit by bit, but I wanted to have a landing place where we can post updates on the reorganization so that you know what's new, or where the forum went if we moved it or deleted it.

Thank you in advance for hanging in there with us while we move things around. I promise the forums will be easier to use once we are done. We are trying to keep new members and our regulars in mind while we layout the forums.

Stay tuned to this thread for important updates. We have some pretty exciting stuff coming soon (we hope!) for Hotcouponworld and the forum reorganization is just the first step!

I feel it will work out great! Specially if forums are more compromised? Like more main forums with sub forums. Feels like theres a million forums and so much to read etc. Im excited. easier is better for me :)

Our main goal is to get rid of the sub-sub-sub-sub forums (LOL) and to make sure that the forums we keep are ones that are actively being used....it won't be too much of a change but we are evaluating each forum one by one and deciding how to best make sure everything is where it should be for ease of use.

Greetings & Getting Started

Announcements forum is now retitled "Announcements & Rules"

The community rules has been removed as a link on the forum home page and is now a Sticky in the Announcement & Rules forum - but of course!

Frequently Asked Questions - Staying put for the time being

Getting Started ~ Couponing Basics for New Members forum has been renamed "Couponing Basics" just for ease of use, and because it's not just for new members :)

The Welcome Wagon forum - Staying just as it is

Couponers Across The World - Staying just as it is (for now)

Hotcouponworld's Helping Hand - Staying just as it is

Community Spotlight - here is where we made some changes, we added new thread prefixes (see sticky post here). We have merged the Sub forums of HCW Owners Corner, Member profiles, Moderator of the month and Hotcouponworld In The Media into just one forum. So now all of our good news, shout outs and happy birthdays are in one location. (We never had a forum for Happy Birthday! and Good New! type stuff before so that part is new. Everyone feel free to use it as set up!

Testing 123 forum - has been deleted. It was not used and pretty well hidden, so it ended up on the chopping block.
