New Ad Unit Coming (Update: It's here!)

Hey everyone,

We wanted to give a heads up that we're adding an ad unit on the site. You can view it now if you're logged off - it's a forum post text ad at the end of the first post. It's pretty unobtrusive, but we didn't want people to be alarmed when they saw it.

We're always really careful about trying to balance the needs of the site with the needs of our members. When we put new ads up, it goes towards funding things like servers (we're up to two, fully loaded dedicated servers to run HCW), site upgrades (since we're not tech people and that has to be hired out), and new projects/usertools (we've got three new things we hope to unveil in steps later this spring and early summer).

This ad should work with the no ads subscription, in that if you've subscribed to a no ads subscription, you shouldn't see the ad when you're logged in. If you do once it switches on sometime this week, please let us know so we can work to resolve it.

The nice thing about this unit is that since it's inline with the text, the ads will be even more relevant to what we do. And like with any other ads we run, if something comes up that's really objectionable (we've seen a few pop up here), let us know with an email, a screen shot of the unit, and a URL link to where it goes so we can actively try to block it.

We try to be very diligent that the ads we do accept are relevant to what we do as couponers. I'm personally pleased with the coupon offers, grocery store ads, and consumer product ads we get through the networks we participate in.

Anyway, we just wanted to give you all a courtesy heads-up, and appreciate your continued patience with us as we try to keep HCW moving smoothly for everyone!
