HCW Site Maintenance this Sunday at 9PM Pac time

Because not everyone reads the general announcements, I'm posting this here too....

Just a quick note to let you know we'll be down for site maintenance this Sunday night at 9PM pacific time. We shouldn't be down too long - an hour tops.

When we come back up, you will see a few things that are different.

In an effort to speed up the drag on the page load, we're going to kill the right side column and go to a left column, and then the forum content.

This means we'll be getting rid of a few of the boxes on the right side of the forums page, and keeping a few and moving them to the left side.

It will make the forum table wider, make things a little less cluttered, and hopefully, speed up page load times a bit. We think the Tag cloud is a big resource draw, so we're going to get rid of that, although it still should be searchable as an "advanced search" from the orange toolbar below the header.

When you log back in, the user CP box on the right will be gone, as will the tag cloud, and the calendar. The rest of the boxes will move to the left column of the page.
You'll still be able to access your userCP from the link on the orange tool bar under the page header.

We're also going to go with a little wider ad as the size we use on the left column is no longer the industry standard. So you'll see that increase a bit, but overall, you'll get more screen for the forums and a lot less cluttered forum home page.

Thanks for your patience - and we'll keep you posted of some other housekeeping things coming down the pipe as the approach.

We're still working on the database issues - that didn't get resolved tonight. But we'll be hoping for a fix soon.
