Either way works for the military families. I know that they are all grateful for all they receive, but by the same token, they are not expecting the people that mail them coupons to spend more on postage than they can afford to. If it's easier on you to use one stamp every week or two weeks than to hold off for a month or so to fill a flat rate mailer, then by all means, that's what you should do.

It absolutely does get costly!!! One thing that I stress at Coupons To Troops is to look within your community to see if any of the service or veteran or church groups have an existing coupon project going or would consider starting a project and then instead of paying the postage yourself for all the coupons you send, donate your coupons to them to send overseas. Personally I would LOVE to see the Coupon Project Directory on CTT filled to the point where there is page after page of groups listed, but until we get to that point, we do have to hope that individuals will do some checking around on their own.

I just signed on your site. I have been been trying a new way of couponing for a few weeks. Basically I am buying six to ten papers every sunday. Most of the coupons I will never use and have been saving the expired ones. I had heard the military families could use them. I live in middle tn and know Fort campbell in Clarksville is the closest base. Where and who can I send coupons to? I can send them to someone working on your project if needed. thanks

I think this is great that we help out our military members overseas! I know while my DH served in the Marines they had a box of cpns at the WIC office and while we waited we would pass the box around and pick which cpns we wanted.

I've been using flat rate envelopes that hold thousands of coupons and only costs $4.95. You'd be amazed and how much can be stuffed into one of these envelopes! The last two I sent out each weighed 3 lbs.

A customs form is now required if sending to an APO address for any package weighing over 16 oz. No big deal, just a little extra time at the P.O.

I'm so happy I found out about this. I've been looking for a way to somehow help military families for the longest time. Thank you so much for making it easy for me, and for everyone else to share!

It's been over a month since we requested to adopt a family thru the couponstotroops website and we have yet to hear anything. We have another flat rate priority box ready to mail. Just waiting on an address. Hopefully we'll hear from someone soon.

    Thanks!
